Wedding planning turned out to be more of a challenge than Amelia had bargained on. Between her job, her studies and Spencer's hectic career, plans and appointments kept getting rescheduled or put on the back burner.

Thankfully, Amelia's personal life and her relationship with Spencer were better than ever. The support group was a major help in giving her a safe place to her vent her anxieties, and the MMA classes allowed her to bolster her confidence and take out some of her aggression in a controlled atmosphere. Trudy had also been a major pillar of support, it really helped having a close friend who could understand what she went through. And then there was Spencer himself, what would she have ever done without him? He was her rock, her comfort, and the love of her life. Everything would be perfect if she could just plan the wedding! She still didn't even know when or where she wanted to get married, and Amelia was starting to panic over it.

At least Spencer had finally gotten her an engagement ring. He had had every intention of going out straight away to pick one, but almost right after they had become engaged he had been called out on a case….and then another one, and another one. Somehow, it had just slipped their minds and taken a backseat to more pressing matters in life. That is, until one day Penelope, Trudy, and Melissa cornered Spencer and took him out shopping.

The trio had actually cornered him in the bullpen. Penelope had cleared the outing with Hotch ahead of time, and since they had spent so much time away on cases there was no problem in getting the afternoon off. Spencer had sent pleading looks towards the rest of the team, but they all held up their hands in surrender; well except Morgan, he was too busy laughing and cracking jokes.

At the ladies' insistence, Spencer had also purchased a new suit, a single star gazer lily (Amelia's favorite flower), and had surprised her with a homemade dinner when she had come home from the museum. Amelia had been so touched by all the effort he had gone to, and the ring he had ended up choosing was stunning. Instead of the traditional diamond, Spencer had selected an oval cut emerald with a crystal clear dark green hue set in a thinly braided white gold band, the band was inset with tiny little diamonds so that the whole ring sparkled when it caught the light.

"Oh Spence, it's beautiful," Amelia had gasped when he presented it to her, "I'll treasure it forever."

Finally, several weeks later Amelia ended up storming in the bullpen in tears.

"I can't handle all of this! I want a wedding so that we can invite all of our friends and family, but I don't even know where to start! I'm trying to make a good impression at the museum and begin outlining my doctoral thesis, and there just doesn't seem to be any time left for the wedding. Maybe we should just elope," she sobbed into his chest, unaware of the rest of the team standing around in concern.

"Um sweetie, maybe we can help," Penelope hesitantly intruded.

"What?" Amelia sniffled helplessly.

"Well, I am the tech goddess, so I can get all the research done for you if you tell me what you want. I spoke with Trudy and Melissa earlier at our bridesmaids' meeting and we are all more than happy to lend a hand. You don't have to do this on your own. Just tell us what you want and we'll get started," Penelope gently coaxed.

A wobbly smile lit up Amelia's face, "Really? That would be wonderful. Thank you so much!"

"Anytime sista'!" Penelope replied with a beaming smile, "Now step into my lair and we can get a preliminary list going."

Amelia and Penelope departed, and after a quick shared glance JJ and Emily followed after them. Spencer gazed after the group of women and let out a relieved breath.

"You dodged a bullet there kid," Morgan said with a grin.

"If I've learned one thing after being married three times, it's never get in the middle of a woman planning her wedding. The smartest thing you can do is say, 'yes dear, whatever you like dear,'" Rossi joined in with a chuckle.

"Thanks, I'm learning that," Spencer replied ruefully as he sat back down at his desk to resume completing the paperwork that had piled up in their continued absences.

"Alright, it looks like I've got all the details recorded that are on the wedding checklist we found. We can divide up the jobs and then meet in two weeks to go over what everyone found," Penelope chirped with a bubbly smile.

Amelia wrapped the blonde woman in a hug, "You are the best, all of you. I don't know what I would do without you guys."

"No problem, I have no plans to ever get married, so this is probably the closest I'll get to planning my own wedding," Emily said as she leaned back in her chair with a bit of regretful air.

JJ gave Amelia an encouraging smile, "It'll all work out, you'll see."

Just then, Hotch opened the door and stuck his head inside. He had a serious expression on his face, which caused all the women in the room to stop talking instantly, "JJ, I need to speak with you."

JJ excused herself and spoke with Hotch out in the hallway, after a couple minutes she went to her office and began to work as fast as she could.

Hotch opened the door to Penelope's office again and addressed the rest of the women inside, "We have a situation," he turned his attention towards Amelia, "I think you should join us in the conference room Amelia."

Taken aback, Amelia could only nod in puzzlement as she stood and joined the other women heading towards the conference room.

Once they were all seated around the table, JJ entered the room with a folder under her arm. She directed their attention to the screen on the wall and brought up a picture of Michael Bellamy in an orange jumpsuit. A gasp escaped from Amelia's lips, but she couldn't form any words; her body became tense and began shaking uncontrollably. Spencer leaned over so that he could wrap his arm around her shoulders. He glanced angrily at JJ and Hotch, "A little forewarning wouldn't have been amiss."

JJ sent an apologetic look towards Amelia and Spencer, "Sorry, time is of the essence. Michael Bellamy escaped from his prison transport and entered a daycare facility nearby where he is holding the workers and children hostage. We've been called in due to our past history with Bellamy." JJ noticeably swallowed like she had just bitten into something rotten and went pale, "he's also demanding to speak with you Spencer, in person."

Amelia sat frozen in stunned silence. In her mind she screamed out "No," over and over again. This couldn't be happening again, it couldn't. Her life was finally back to normal and she wanted to move on with it, not hit the rewind button and repeat the most traumatic event in her life.

Spencer felt Amelia's cold hands unconsciously holding his in an icy grip that was causing her knuckles to go white from the strain. He wasn't thrilled with this situation any more than she was; in fact, no one on the team wanted to bring this back up, but it appeared that they didn't have a choice in the matter. There were sixteen young children and four adults whose lives depended on the BAU team successfully handling this situation.

"How did Bellamy escape from his prison transport?" Morgan asked after casting a worried look at Amelia, she looked like she was about to have a nervous breakdown.

"We aren't certain, but we think that one of the guards was bribed," Hotch stoically replied.

Morgan frowned, "Who would bribe the guard?"

"I'll bet it was the mother," Rossi said as he leaned forward in his chair.

Prentiss nodded in agreement, "Yeah, she was a piece of work. The reports on how she managed to get her son off the first time was a pretty slick legal maneuver. She definitely has the type of personality to plan and execute this."

"What I don't understand, is why she would go to such trouble to get him out and then not have a better strategy for getting him away when he escaped," Rossi mused.

"It's possible that the timing wouldn't be exact, and so there wasn't any way to create a more perfected plan," Spencer added in while he tried to rub Amelia's hands in an effort to bring back her blood circulation.

"I think we need to have the field office in New York bring the mother in for questioning again," he turned towards Penelope, "Look through the backgrounds of everyone involved in the case right now, and the backgrounds of those involved earlier. If it wasn't the mother who orchestrated this, we need to find out who did. Let's head over to the scene now people."

Everyone stood up to go, but Amelia was still glued to her seat. When Spencer tried to stand up, she started to whimper with tears rolling down her cheeks, "Please don't leave me Spence. Don't let him get me again. I don't want anything to happen to you either. Please just stay here."

Spencer crouched down in front of her and kissed her tears away, "I'm sorry sweetheart. I have to go, there are twenty lives depending on us, and he's demanding to speak with me. He didn't beat me the first time, and he won't get the best of me this time. I've already called Jason and he is on his way over now, you can both stay right here in this room until it's over. You'll be safe, I promise."

Spencer didn't bother to add in that to Bellamy, Amelia's life meant less than nothing. She was an object or toy that got taken away before he was done with it, therefore, his real anger would be directed towards the one who confiscated the "toy," which in his mind was Spencer.

Amelia was still sitting in quiet shock when Spencer finally had no choice but to leave, the others were waiting for him, but he was relieved to see Jason and Trudy exiting the elevator as he approached it.

"How is she?" Jason asked without preamble.

"She's scared and in shock. Try to keep her calm. Penelope will give you updates on the situation," Spencer replied before hurrying into the elevator before the doors closed.

"Good luck!" Trudy called after him.
