APOV

Charlie and Riley have visited since we got the medicine. And the others, too. Well, everyone except for Daryl. At first, I thought he was dead, but Riley assured me he wasn't. But she doesn't know why he won't come see me.

After the third day, I was tired of it. I left my cell in A and left to go find Daryl. I found him working on his bike and I marched right up to him,

"Can we talk?"

"Aren't ya supposed be on bed rest or somethin'?" He replied.

"I'm not gonna ask again, Daryl." I responded, putting my hands on my hips.

Daryl sighed before cleaning off his hands on his rag and putting it on the bike and turning to me, "Fine. You wanna talk? Then talk."

"Why have you been ignoring me?" I questioned.

"Haven't been ignorin' you." Daryl replied.

"Fine. Why have you been avoiding me?"

"What makes ya think that?" He asked.

"You haven't visited me at all the past three days." I said.

He scoffed, "That's because I don' want ta see you."

"Why?"

"'Cause I'm done with you." He answered.

"What?" I asked.

"God, I didn't take you as a stupid bitch. I got what I want from you, Alexa. Do you know how long its been since I've had sex? And at the end of the world, you don't get a lot of choices." Daryl said.

I took a step back, "Why are you lying?"

Why is he saying things like this?

"I ain't! Now leave me alone!" He yelled and I flinched before turning around and running away.

I sat in the courtyard, playing Go Fish with Charlie.

"Mommy!" Charlie exclaimed, running past me.

I turned around and watched as my mom picked Charlie up and she smiled at me, "Hi, Riley."

"Hi." I responded before standing up and I began walking away,

"It's rude to ignore your mother." Mom said.

I turned around and glared at her, "Mothers don't abandoned their children at the end of the world."

She sighed, setting Charlie down, "I'm sorry about that-"

"Sorry? Is that all you are? You left us alone! And for a dead man!" I yelled before I felt my cheek start to sting.

"Don't talk about your father like that." Mom scolded me.

I held my cheek to my hand, "He wanted you to take us someplace safe. And you didn't respect his last wishes."

Mom grabbed my arms and pushed me against the wall, "Your father was a good man! And you talk about him like he was dead from the start!"

"He was! He was bit! Don't you get it!? You get bit and you're dead, just like him!" I screamed at her before she slapped me again.

"Clearly no one taught you to hold your tongue."

All of the sudden, there was an explosion.

"Charlie!" I yelled and I ran over to her to cover her.

"Get back!" I heard Rick yell.

"Go, let me take her." Mom said.

"I'm not letting her go anywhere with you." I glared.

"She's not safe out here!"

I looked down at Charlie before kneeling down, "You go with her, and I'll come get you in a bit, okay?"

"Okay, Riley." Charlie responded before hugging me and leaving.

I ran over to the others and looked out across the field, and behind the fences was the Governor... on a tank.

"Oh shit." I whispered.

"Rick! Come down here! We need to talk." The Governor said.

"It's not up to me!" Rick replied, "There's a council now! They run this place."

"Is Hershel on the council?" The Governor asked before people took Michonne and Hershel out of a car, "Or Michonne?"

"I don't make decisions anymore!"

"You're making the decisions today, Rick." The Governor said, "Come down here. Let's have that talk."
