CHAPTER 41:
Rick didn't looked frightened to much, but from what he had remembered of Woodbury, they were severely outnumbered. Both with weapons and with warriors, he needed to think of something…and fast too! There was not telling how long it would take, as he know Daryl's brother knew the most about him, he was the one to ask questions to.

"How long you think we got?" Rick asked.

"Shoot, Martinez is probably teaching everyon' of 'em jus' the basics of them guns. I'd say a few hours, tops!" Merle shook his head as looked up at Daryl, who looked very displeased with his older sibling. "Ey don't know one go blamin' me fer this shit. This was gunna happen eventually."

"Yeah, Merle?" Rick walked as close to the one armed man as possible, but Daryl stepped in between them.

"C'mon, we's gotta pull together." Daryl shouted, mostly at Merle, "We got's lots of shit to do."

Hershel seemed almost take n back, as he was sure that he would have to be the middle man, just like usual. The elderly man looked up at Rick and asked, "Do you have a plan?"

The once officer had a twinkle in his eye as he smirked, "Yea'h, I think so." He nodded slowly as he began to think of what they could do in the short amount of time they had. "Everyone pack your belongings."

So many questions wanted to be asked, and really should be too. Rick pointed her fingers to the four, "I want to know what happened MERLE!"

"Oh c'mon man we ain't go time for this now." Merle was right, time was ever so crucial. "And this ain't all my fault."

Surprisingly Beth spoke up, "He's right Rick it wasn't." Hershel looked down at his daughter, this was not like her to step up and take the blame for anyone else, she was so used to keeping to herself, and being hush about situations.

As soon as the Governor, Milton, Martinez and Andrea got back to Woodbury they were quickly informed about what had happened while they were away. Of course no one else knew that the Governor was meeting to help set up a truce, he didn't want to worry his people about that, especially since it was never going to happen. "Martinez," the Governor looked at his right hand man, now that Merle was gone. "Get the troops ready, anyone that is able to hold a gun, I want them trained! You have three hours,"

Andrea refused to take in this information, she stepped to Phillip as she shook her head angrily. "No! My friends didn't do this."

"I'm afraid they did," The Governor was putting on a good act as he appeared upset, "just as we were setting a truce, no we can't allow this."

"Allow this?" The mid-thirty year old woman questioned back. "What does that mean?"

Milton looked over at his friend and his leader and tried to interfere as he grabbed a hold of Andrea's arm. "Andrea come here." He gently tugged her away, must to her disliking. "I need to talk to you." The nerdy looking man spoke quietly, as he looked up at Philip.

Martinez came to the Governor's side, asking what to do about the elderly people. But before actually getting to ask the question he received a shady look from the brains of the group. "What chu lookin' at?" The Hispanic man asked Andrea and Milton, "Why don't you two go and do something, Gov I need to know what you want me to do about the elderly."

Andrea walked forward as she heaved Milton off her arm. "Don't you dare go after my friends, Phillip I mean it!"

"Andrea, please, it's important." Milton nearly pleaded with the woman. Andrea saw the look in his eyes and knew that this had to be something serious for Milton to be pleading with her.

"Fine," Andrea turned her back to the wicked tyrant. "I swear to God if you go near my friends…"

Gov was a little taken back that Andrea had stood up to him like that, he was not going to just sit there and be spoken to in that matter. Looking to the man beside him, Martinez stood there for a moment and then made a scuffing sound.

"'Ey Gov, I think he's going to squeal." Martinez shook his head as he chuckled, "That motherfucker is going to tell her everything. I jus' know it."

He was right! "I don't care how old anyone is, everyone is going to learn." Some sort of rage had been ignited into the man's eyes, he didn't care who lived and died, this was all to personal. "They have one to many rats over there. What do we do with rats?"

"Kill them!" With that being said, the two males split directions, the one eyed man witnessed Milton and Andrea go down to what looked to be the same area where Maggie and Glenn where held, and Rachel too.

Two hour had gone and passed on by, and the prison was nearly bare empty. Not like it had a lot of things in there anyways, but they needed to just grab their belongings. Rick told everyone to make it look like that they had not been there for a while, he wanted the Governor to think they had up and left. Though that's not what they had planned at all.

Maggie and Glenn were all suited up in bulletin proof vests, and armor all over there body. Much to Hershel trying to talk Maggie out of it, but he knew that his twenty-two year old daughter would make her own decisions and he had no real say in it, anymore…

For everyone else, that meant to stay in the woods. They moved all of their cars and trucks away, not like the Governor would know that, Rick was sure they didn't pay attention to what kind of cars they had but to be on the safe side, it never hurt.

"Everyone has a gun?" The sheriff asked as he watched Glenn and Maggie scatter around trying to blend in with the shadows of the tower. "They are going to need back up."

Everyone seemed to nod, Axel volunteered to stay in one of the towers, though Rick and Hershel were not sure about that, he was sure he do it, and stay hidden. "C'mon y'all. Y'all took Oscar with to get Maggie and Glenn back. I wanted to help with that mission, so let me do something as daring as Oscar did." Axel had to be the nicest prisoner ever, end of the world or not!

Rick and Carl split apart from the group and went further down into the forest, with Hershel and Michonne closer to them, and Daryl and Rachel on the end. Beth grabbed Judith she was sent to get away from here. Rachel refused to let them go out in the woods alone, "Xavier will go with you." She looked down at the dog, Rachel knew that her dog was very protective and would probably run out of their hiding place to attack the Governor or one of his men. "Won't you?" The dog's owner rubbed Xavier's side, "Protect them as you would me." Beth gave a half smile and said she'd take good care of him.

"Stay close." The vet called out, "We don't know how this is goin' to play out."

Rick gave a stern look to his friend, "Not exactly, but I got a pretty good idea." Walking over to Beth he gave his daughter a kiss on her forehead, he was hoping, no praying, that this wouldn't be the last time he saw his baby girl.

Phillip watched two people that he had trusted walk away and gossip behind his back. He just couldn't allow that! The suave looking man trailed the duo, be very, VERY carefully. As he went in the same building as them, he listened to Milton say; "-He was never going to go through with the truce…"

Andrea cut him off in mid-sentence with her raising her hands to silence him. "Wh-what? What do you mean?"

"I mean he told the sheriff-"

"Rick." Andrea cut in, "His name is Rick."

"He told, ahem, Rick, that he would s-s-eize this battle if he would receive either R-Rachel, Mich-onne, o-o-o-or th-th-th-the both o-of them." Milton stuttered as he became overwhelmingly nervous on how his friend was going to take the news.

"Receive? What do you mean?" Milton shrugged up his shoulders as the blonde took a few steps forward, anger written on her face and voice. "Milton!"

"I can't! You can't tell him I told you, he will have both of our heads!"

"Damn right I'm going too!" She grabbed a hold of her side, but in that exact same second someone from behind roughly grabbed her arm and held it in place. "What the fu-?" The sound of someone being slapped, and two large thuds were heard.

"Your friends did this to themselves." A smirking Governor came walking backwards as he made sure neither Andrea nor Milton would get up and retaliate against him. Right before he closed the door behind him, a echoing gunshot pierced his ear drums.

With much debate and not really trusting in their leader, the citizens of Woodbury grew weary of the Governor now. Martinez tried to calm everyone down, he was not used to being the nice guy, and in fact he very much despised those that lived that kind of lifestyle. As Martinez saw the Governor walking out from the building, he quickly jogged over to him.

"Gov?"

"No need to worry, Martinez." Eyeing his second in command, "Are we ready?"

"Well we got some problems? I think they may need some convincing, because these pussies aren't listening to me." The buffer of the two became agitated a lot easier compared to the one eyed man, and when he got to that point he used violence to enforce his rules.

Gov didn't say anything else, he knew he would have to give one of his motivational speeches. "People, people, I need your attention, please." He stretched his arms out while signaling for his people to come closer to him.

"Gov were not doing this." A young woman called out.

"This isn't our war." A middle-aged black man shouted. "Our war is with the biters, not humans."

"It's not safe here, we need to leave." A grey haired woman shook her head, "This isn't how I want to die."

Gov smirked and shook his head, "Janice," He pointed to the last woman who spoke. "No one's dying, we are just giving them a friendly reminder no to pick a fight with us.

Janice spoke again, "Some of us are to old for this, Gov please."

"You will be fine, anyone older than 60 years old, still need to come along, you will be meeting the rest of us somewhere else. " Shumpert, also known as one of the Gov's men, he always carried a bow and arrow, not to talkative, but did what needed to get done.

"Shumpert will take all of you in a separate car, not to far away, but far enough where you will not be seen." He looked at the big, black man as he spoke the next part, "We will be quick." The man nodded, he knew ahead of time this plan. You didn't dare to disobey the Governor, he made people turn heartless…
