The Overlooked Part 2:
They all stood in silence for a moment as Scott soaked in what they had just heard. He had his mother. He has his mother. Jennifer shook her head, knowing this would make things more complicated. He took a family member, knowing that this would tip the weight in his scale. She knew how much Scott loved his mother. "He's not going to hurt her."
"Shut up." Derek raised a hand to her. She didn't deserve a say in this, not after everything she did to all of them, especially him.
"He won't!" She insisted, firmly. She looked over at Scott. "Scott, you know why. Tell them it's true."
Derek hesitated. He would no longer listen to what she had to say. Instead he turned to Scott. "What does she mean?" They all turned to him. Bex already knew though. She and Scott talked about it but they never got a chance to tell Stiles, what with everything happening in town.
Scott didn't say anything. He was still trying to process that Deucalion had his mother, just like in his nightmare. Jennifer sighed impatiently. "You're not the only one he wants in his pack. Deucalion doesn't just want an alpha pack, he wants perfection. That means adding the rarest of alphas to his ranks." She explained to them.
"A true alpha." Peter said to himself. He thought it was just a myth but if Deucalion wanted Scott it must be true.
"What's that?" Stiles asked him.
"The kind that doesn't have to steal power from another." He looked over at Scott. "One that can rise by the power of his own will. Our little Scott." He looked at the teenager curiously.
"Perhaps not just your little Scott." Jennifer added glancing over at Bex. They all looked to the teacher confused, Stiles looked at who Jennifer looked at though, Bex. What did this have to do with her?
"It doesn't matter." Scott said before any of them could ask any questions. "We still need to get her out of here.
Stiles and Bex both looked shocked. His best friend took a step forwards. "Scott, your mom!"
"My mom said that there's one more ambulance coming in 20 minutes." He reminded him of how bad Cora was. "And I don't think we've been here that long. So if we can get down to the garage, get to the last ambulance, than we can get out of here." He said as he turned to face them.
Peter looked up at Derek. "The twins aren't going to let us just walk out." He reminded his nephew of the humongous alphas currently looking for them in the hospital.
Bex and Scott both exchanged a look. She trusted him, and she knew that he would know what to do. "We'll distract them." Bex told the others. Stiles tensed up. He didn't want his best friends going out to fight the twins alone.
Derek looked at them worried, thinking the same thing. "You mean fight them."
"Whatever I have to do." Scott told him.
Derek looked at them before nodding. "It's not safe. I'll help you." He told them softly. He owed them both, especially since this wasn't their fight. They just got caught in the middle of it.
"Um, sorry, but I'm not going anywhere without you, Derek." Jennifer piped in.
"I'll do it." Peter volunteered with a sigh. They weren't going to get anywhere by just sitting and talking about it. "But I prefer to be out there with an advantage."
Stiles looked at the beta, not understanding what he meant. "An advantage? You mean like, what? A weapon?" He asked him confused. He shrugged.
"Something better than a baseball bat. We need something in here." He said. They all began to spread out to look for something that would help them. Bex looked over at the syringe for some adrenaline. Derek came over to help her look.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe you about Jennifer." He apologized, but she didn't say anything, not wanting to have this conversation now. "You don't need to do this." He looked at her as they went through the drawers filled with medical equipment. "The twins are dangerous and they're under the orders of Deucalion. If they need to get to her, they won't care who gets hurt. You could get hurt, Bex."
She shook her head looking up at the alpha. "I'm not letting Scott go in with just Peter. He needs help. I'm not leaving him. Just get Cora to the ambulance and watch out for Stiles. She needs to get to that hospital."
"And what if you end up going to the morgue instead?" He asked frustrated. She wasn't taking this seriously. After what happened to Boyd, the last thing he wanted was to lose her to the alphas as well.
She hesitated. "I'm not leaving him, Derek." She told him firmly. There wasn't anything he could do to get her to change her mind.
He glanced over at her. "Just be careful, please." He asked her. She looked shocked at his sentence. She didn't think he'd care about what happened to her. "I don't need to lose anyone else." He said so quietly, that even her werewolf hearing, just barely picked up on it.
She was standing there stunned when Stiles picked something up from out of one of the drawers. "Hey, wait. What about these?" He asked as he held up a defibrillator. If brought up to the right intensity than it could do some real damage to even an alpha, but no one there knew how to use it.
"You know how to use those?" Derek asked looking up at him and away from Bex. He wasn't the best at heartfelt conversations, especially right now.
"Well...no."
He nodded. He didn't need him electrocuting himself trying to figure it out how to. "Then put them down."
Scott found a big syringe filled with something. He looked close reading off what it was. "Epinephrine?"
"That's only going to make him stronger." Derek told him.
Bex went over taking the syringe out of Scott's hand, smiling. "I have an idea." She took off the cap, tapping the glass to make sure no bubbles were in it. She walked over to Peter, who knew exactly what she was going to do. "Ready for an experiment?"
"Just not so close to the heart." He winced seeing it, instead she jabbed it near his chest, a few inches away from the heart. He growled.
"Sorry." She smirked as she put it down. It would take a minute for it to work, but then it should give them a good advantage over the twins. Peter nodded, shaking his head, the drugs were setting in. He walked out. "Scott?" She looked over for her friend. He followed her out.
"Be careful." Stiles told them.
They nodded in agreement as they walked out after Peter, who was getting used to the shot he got. He felt stronger and faster already. "Alright, boys. Let's rumble." Peter grinned as the drugs kicked in. The werewolves growled as they charged each other. The other group left while the twins were distracted with the others.

The twins overpowered them, not as easily as before still enough to where Peter couldn't get up after being thrown into the wall. Bex and Scott rushed over, helping him get up "That shot didn't last very long." He groaned. They helped him through the hallway getting him into the laundry room. "Those twins are really starting to piss me off."
Scott looked out the window of the room, glancing back at them. "How the hell are we supposed to get past them?" He asked them.
"Personally, I think if we keep letting them beat the living crap out of us, they'll tire and give up." He said sarcastically.
Bex rolled her eyes. "Good, we'll throw you out there and you can be a distraction for us and become alpha chow." She shot back. His lack of helpful advice was getting on her nerves. Scott glanced over at the laundry shoot and they followed his line of vision. "Come on, Scott." She moaned. She wasn't a fan of tightly enclosed spaced.
"It's the only way." He reminded her, nodding over to where the twins were somewhere lurking outside. He helped Peter up. "You first."
She opened it before hurrying to slide down landing in a basket of dirty clothes. She climbed out with ease as she heard another body coming down the narrow shoot. Peter. Scott came down right after him, landing on top of him. "You couldn't have waited, like, ten seconds?" He asked shooting him a look before he heard his phone go off. Scott looked at the message worried. He got out of the cart. "They didn't get out did they?"
She grabbed the phone from him seeing the message from Derek. "We have to get them," She immediately said handing the phone back to him, "But first we need to make sure Cora and Stiles are alright. The alphas could've found them."
Scott agreed silently as he hopped out of the basket. "Peter can stay with them." He said as they walked out of the room, down the hall towards the basement. He wasn't looking so good right now and he'd be better keeping the others safe, rather than getting into another possible fight.
They hurried down the stairs to the basement, both of them helping Peter stand up. She saw that the ambulance was still there, as well as of a puddle of blood around the dead EMT's body. She looked away, she would never get used to seeing dead bodies. She knocked on the door, scaring Stiles. "Open the door." She told him.
He quickly leaned over opening the back of the ambulance. "Sorry." He apologized.
"Just help us get him in." He hurried to give them a hand to get the older werewolf into the back.
"Where's Derek and Jennifer?" He asked them as he got Peter settled into the back of the truck.
Scott looked over at him. "I have to go back for them and my mom." He told him.
"Okay, two problems; Kali's got the keys to this thing and I saw the twins, like, thirty seconds ago." They suddenly heard banging coming from somewhere. Scott and Bex exchanged a look. There was no way that she was going to let him go alone near the twins.
"Stay here. We'll be back." Bex told Stiles before walking out with Scott. They walked down the dark, empty hallway to find his mother. They could smell the twins were close by but couldn't see them. They stopped in the hallway, waiting to hear something. Suddenly, they came out and went to punch the back of Scott's head but he ducked just in time as Bex kicked them away.
They slid on the ground growling but immediately got back up. They grabbed Scott first throwing him on the floor before grabbing Bex and tossing her down the hall she fell with a thud as they picked Scott up, shoving him against the wall. "Where is she?" They yelled. He didn't speak. "We're trying not to hurt you!"
"Try harder." He suggested.
"Hey!" They all looked over to see Melissa holding a fully loaded defibrillator in her hands. "I'd like to try something." She shoved them onto their chest, electrocuting them. The teenagers looked up at her in awe as the twins fell separated. "Guys, get up!" She said quickly helping them both up before running away from the twins before they could recover their strength.
They ran until they were far enough away from the twins to slow down to a walk. "How did you get away from Deucalion?" Bex asked Melissa and she glanced over at her.
She rubbed her hands together, as confused as they were. "He just let me go as a gesture of good will. No reason."
Bex and Scott both exchanged a look. "He had to have a reason. I don't think he does anything without a reason." Scott told her, seriously as he looked around the building. He didn't want to let his guard down when he knew another one of the alphas could be waiting to attack them at any minute.
"Well, if that means I should continue to be profoundly terrified, than don't worry I have that covered." She told him. At that moment, they all heard a sound. It was close, around the corner. Scott kept Melissa behind him as he and Bex both slowly moved forwards towards the noise. They peeked around the corner to see the end of a gun barrel, but it was only Chris Argent. Realizing who it was, he put his gun down. Bex noticed Allison and Isaac right behind him, equally surprised to see them.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked them putting his gun up. Isaac looked worried and made to take a step forward, but thought against it. He didn't want to make her angry, not when they had other things to worry about.
Bex scoffed. "We could ask you the same thing. How did you get in here? The alphas are all around this hospital." She told them, quietly. Chris looked around before ushering them down the hallway to find a room.
"Tell me everything, what happened?" He asked Scott and Bex both. They proceeded to explain what had happened and that Derek and Jennifer were stuck in the elevator. "So they're essentially trapped?" Chris asked them as they moved into another room, the others quickly followed behind them.
"Yeah, right."
"There's no getting them out without turning the power back on." Isaac added as he stood next to Bex. She glanced up at him. "Are you okay?" He asked her quietly.
She muttered keeping her gaze away from him. "I'm fine."
Melissa came to stand between Scott and Bex. "Wait, wait, wait, if the power's back on, they're going to hear the elevator moving right?"
Bex nodded in agreement with the woman. There wasn't a good way to do this without some help from the others. "And they'll be on Jennifer and Derek as soon as it stops." She looked over to where her friend had blood on his head. They couldn't afford to get anyone else hurt again. "And we can't get into a fight with them, they're way too strong."
"You've got us now." Chris assured her.
Scott agreed with her, not wanting any of them to get hurt. "It's too much to risk. They want her dead, and if she dies there's nothing we can do for Stiles' dad or Cora." He reminded the older hunter.
He sighed. "I don't even think I know what teacher this is."
Isaac looked up to answer. "She's the one with the brown hair. She's kind of hot." They all looked at him shocked at his statement at this time. "No, it's just...Just an observation."
Bex rolled her eyes at him. "Not exactly an appropriate time seeing as she's the one who sacrificing everyone in this town for power and Stiles' dad could be next." She snapped at him. He looked down. "Just an observation."
Allison looked into the mirror, a thought coming to her. She knew this could work and get them out of here. "I've got an idea."

Bex waited with Scott as they listened for the electricity to come back on. They still stood in the faintly lit room. "It's going to be okay, Scott." She assured him as she took his hand. He gave her a weak smile and nodded at her. Her phone chimed and Scott read the text from behind her. "I texted Stiles, he and Peter are going to get Cora out of there."
"I know. I'm just worried about my mom."
She nodded, understanding. She would be just as worried if she were in his position. "We'll go straight to her when we get Derek and Jennifer out." He sighed and nodded taking her hand in his again. It was only a few minutes later when they heard the elevator go. They ran down the hall to find the alpha.
The hallways still were covered with equipment and beds so they maneuvered around them. They finally found the elevator that they went in but when it opened, Derek was on the floor, unconscious and Jennifer was nowhere to be found. They were confused, before understanding it. She betrayed them. "Mom!" He gasped as he fled down the hall.
Bex immediately ran after her friend. Stiles ran into the hallway seeing him leave. "Scott! Scott! Wait!"
"Scott!" Bex yelled after him as Stiles reached her and they both went running after their best friend. Stiles caught up to his friend as they hurried up the staircase to the roof, where they saw Deucalion. Scott, was walking towards him. He made up his mind, already.
"Scott. Don't do this! Don't go with him!" Bex begged him as he looked behind at her, the look on his face was heartbreaking. He had no hope. Deucalion would use him or corrupt him, but Scott loved his mom too much and they seemed to be all out of options. If he had to go with the alpha, than he would. "You can't do this, not with him, Please, Scott."
"I don't know what else to do."
Stiles shook his head, refusing to believe him. "No, Scott, there's...there's got to be something else, okay? We always-we always have a plan B."
Scott teared up as he glanced back at his friends. "Not this time." He said as he disappointed them.
"Scott."
He turned around to face them one more time as Deucalion waited for him patiently. "I'm going to find your dad. I promise." He turned and walked towards the wolf.
Bex shook her head crying. "Scott!" But he didn't look back at his friend, he turned and walked away. Stiles looked on in shock as he left. They felt a very sure now that there was no hope. Not anymore.
