It was early the next day that they found out that Otto had killed a nurse in the prison. Tara had been the one to take the weapon into the prison and give it to Otto. Logan found a reason to show up at the lot again. He hung out with Jocelyn pretty much all day. She was glad that he had found a reason to come around.

"Jocelyn, all those idiots who picked on you in school, they are just jealous," he said.

"Jealous of what? Do you realize you should be running for the hills right now? This place is toxic as hell right now," she said.

"Nah, I'm gonna prove that I like you,"

"Oh yeah?"

He nodded. He had brought breakfast with him for the two of them. He had earned points for holding his own with Happy the day before. He hadn't backed down from the glares he got from the Tacoma Killer which had impressed Jocelyn in a big way. She sighed. Things seemed to be calming down around the club right then. Jocelyn was glad that he was sticking around.

"Want to take a walk?" he asked.

"Sure," she replied.

She walked out of the office as Jax walked in to talk to Gemma. She and Logan took a walk around town. Her dad had left to go to Clay's house for something. Jocelyn wasn't even worried about it. She and Logan spent most of the day just walking around and talking. They stopped at the diner for lunch and then headed out to the park. She sighed.

"I think it's cool, you grew up in the MC," he said.

"Yeah, it's all sunshine and roses," she replied sarcastically.

Logan laughed.

"I've thought about prospecting when I am old enough," he said.

"Oh yeah?" she asked.

He nodded.

"You think you can hang with the chaos that is this life?" she asked.

"How bad can it be?" he asked her.

"You really want to know?"

"Yeah,"

"Well just a few weeks ago, I buried someone who was like my brother after he was murdered in prison. Jax's son was born early because his mom was a junkie. His son was kidnapped a few years ago and taken out of the country. Numerous people have died in the last few years, all killed for being part of the MC."

"Jesus,"

"I was there, the day of that drive by on the lot. I was in the office."

"Holy shit,"

"You saw my dad's face today. He got into a fight a few days ago. Things are not just fun and riding. They get real dangerous real fast."

Logan nodded. He moved closer to Jocelyn and put his hand on her thigh. He leaned forward and kissed her. She moved a hand to his face and wrapped it around the back of his head to pull him in closer. They pulled away after a few moments breathless.

"Wow," he said.

"No kidding," she smiled.

"Come on, let's get some ice cream."

"Sounds good."

He stood up and pulled her up. They walked to get ice cream and then headed back to TM. He had to get going because he had to work that evening. He kissed her again before he left the lot. She went into the office.

"Who was that?" Gemma asked.

"Logan," Jocelyn replied.

"Boyfriend?"

"Yeah,"

"Good to see you found someone, baby,"

Jocelyn nodded. She was sitting there when the guys came back. Happy had a bullet graze wound to his head. The guys had been in a roll over with some of Nero's old crew firing on them. She sat in the clubhouse watching Chibs stitch Happy's head up. Tig looked at her.

"Where's the boy?" he asked.

"Work," she replied.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah dad, he's got a job,"

"Doing what?"

"He works at the diner, in the kitchen,"

"Oh."

"He said he wants to join the MC when he turns 21,"

"Does he now?"

"That's what he said today. I told him he was fuckin crazy. This life is not all it's cracked up to be,"

"It's not that bad."

"Really?"

Jocelyn pointed over at Happy. He was staring at her. She made a face at him. He got a big grin on his face.

"See that right there, after getting shot, is just not normal," she laughed.

"It was nothing," he said, the smile still on his face.

"Yeah ok,"

She rolled her eyes. Chibs finished up the stitches on Happy's head. He got up from the chair and walked over. He kissed the top of her head.

"That boy hurts you, I kill him," he said.

"Yeah yeah yeah, whatever," she rolled her eyes.

"I mean it, Jocelyn."

"I hear you, Killah,"

He walked out of the clubhouse. She looked at her dad.

"Do not leave him alone with Logan," she said.

"He won't do anything unless the boy hurts you," Tig said.

"Dad, I have to do shit on my own."

"I know but you know we will always be here for you,"

"I know dad. I appreciate it."

"We all love you Jocelyn. You think just cuz you are my kid that means they love you any less than I do?"

"No,"

"Especially Hap, hell he used to make special trips down here just to see you,"

"Really?"

"Yeah,"

She nodded.

"All you have to do is call and he comes running. He doesn't do that for everyone, you know this," Tig said.

She nodded again. He leaned over and kissed his daughter's cheek. She walked out to find Happy. He was sitting at the table. She sighed.

"You know I love you Hap," she said.

He nodded. She kissed his cheek.

"Even though I'm growing up, I still need you guys. I love you to death. I know you always got my back," she said.

"I meant what I said," he replied.

"I know you did, Hap. You have to give Logan a chance though."

"Oh I'll give him a chance, but like I said, he hurts you, I kill him."

She nodded. He hugged her. Tig came out telling him that they needed to get Clay and head to Clay's house. Happy stood up and walked to his bike. Jocelyn went back to the office. She watched them pull out of the lot. She sighed.

(LS) What you doing

(JC) at the clubhouse still

(LS) yeah?

(JC) Yeah, had to fix a few things with the guys

(LS) Everything ok?
(JC) Yeah just pulling the protective card.

(LS) Cuz of me?

(JC) they can't handle me growing up I guess

(LS) that sucks

(JC) they'll be fine.

A few hours later, the guys all showed up and went straight into the clubhouse for church. She had quite a few invoices on the desk that needed to be entered into the computer. She started working on them. Her dad came out to the office.

"No more drugs, no more guns," he said.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yeah, we just voted."

"Good."

Quinn was still hanging around the clubhouse. Jax was acting kind of weird about her dad when he walked out of the chapel. He asked Tig if he still loved him. Tig said of course he did. Jocelyn looked at him funny. Jax glanced at her, didn't say a word, and walked out of the clubhouse. She watched Gemma lead Clay out of the clubhouse. That was weird. She looked back and forth between Happy and her father. Tig took another shot. Happy grabbed the bottle and walked over to the couches. She glanced over as he walked over to the sweetbutt. She shook her head. Her phone went off.

(LS) still at the clubhouse?

(JC) yeah

(LS) need a ride home?

She looked over at her father as he took another shot. A girl walked up to him. He smiled at her and put his arm around her.

(JC) yeah, you can come get me,

(LS) Be there soon.

She looked at her dad.

"Logan's coming to get me," she said.

"All right, behave," Tig replied.

"Like you?"

He laughed and downed another shot. She saw a dark look cross Happy's face. She rolled her eyes.

"Leave him alone," she said.

"I meant what I said," Happy growled.

"He hasn't done anything yet so chill out,"

She saw him pull up on the security camera. She walked out of the clubhouse. He smiled when he saw her. She grabbed her bag from the office and headed to his car. They went to the house. She leaned back in the seat.

"You want to come in?" she asked.

"Sure," he replied.

They went inside. She locked the door behind them. He smiled. She grinned. It wasn't like they hadn't had sex before. There was something about Logan. He wasn't like the other boys. He worked for what he had.

"Logan," she said.

"What?" he asked.

"How come you don't want to go home?"

"Long story babe,"

"It's just us and I've got time,"

"Dad's a mean drunk and mom does nothing to stop him so she doesn't face his wrath,"

Jocelyn stared at him. He shrugged his shoulders. She pulled him to her. They walked up to her bedroom together. She kicked her bedroom door shut and pulled him into a kiss. She fell asleep in his arms when they were done. He lay there, staring down at her. He kissed the top of her head. She snuggled in further.
