Hey ya'll, we're early today! :) This is a semi long chapter so this'll be short, but I have to know people's reaction to seeing Dean and Seth's match last Monday on Raw.. Once Scarlett, Roman, Dean and Seth made it back up the stairs and behind the curtain it was time for Tori's handicap match. When offered, Tori had denied them that they stay and wait for her, ordering them, and Sami, to go back to the locker room where she'd meet them once her match was over. Everyone agreed, although it took a little convincing on Seth's part, but they eventually began making their way back to their locker room with a certain buzz surrounding them that everyone they passed by felt. It was only when Tom Phillips walked up to them, microphone in hand and a cameraman trailing behind him did they stop walking for the interview. Sami had decided to carry on to the locker room instead, seeing how he wasn't even on NXT cameras yet let alone main roster ones, but because of how crazy confident the remaining four people felt, this interview probably wasn't the one Tom hoped he'd be getting from the Hounds of Justice.
"Hey hey hey hey! Look, enough of the horse, the pony, the mustang... Tom's clearly a unicorn." Seth insisted causing the interviewer to furrow his eyebrows while Scarlett was busying herself by trying not to laugh. "Can I be a Pegasus? Can I get wings and like, flop arou- fly around?"
"Half goat?" Roman questioned seriously. The confusion evident on his face at whatever Seth was talking about was the thing that nearly sent Scarlett's laughter over the edge, that paired with the obvious bewildered expressions both Seth and Dean shot him when he didn't know what Pegasus was. What was funny to her, was the fact that they were so shocked that a man like Roman Reigns didn't know what a beautiful mystical pony with wings was. Did he really seem like the kind of guy to know what that was?
"No! That's a centaur!" Seth corrected as he groaned, turning back to the man who surely thought they were all crazy at this point. "C'mon, look, Tom! The bottom line is we did what we always do: we sent a message. You don't seem to get it, I think Kane got it. The Shield does what we always do. The Shield does what's best for the Shield, and in turn that's what's best for business. Like Scarlett said, Believe in the Shield, Tom. It's simple." He ordered him before bumping the microphone slightly with his fist then turned to leave when Roman did the same. Scarlett smiled at the man politely, turning to follow suit when an idea suddenly crossed her mind.
With a short giggle she shot forward, grasping onto Seth's shoulders suddenly for leverage as she leapt up in the air and tucked her legs against his sides. She silently thanked God he had fast reflexes when his gloved hands shot back, gripping the backs of her thighs so she wouldn't fall on her butt as she slid her arms around his neck instead of holding onto his shoulders as he adjusted her against his back.
"Cali?"
"Yes?"
"Why are you on my back?"
"Because when I was younger I always wanted my own Pegasus and now I have one!" She exclaimed causing Seth to shake his head.
"You're never going to let me live that down now, are you?" He questioned, turning his head to look at her over his shoulder. The action brought their faces close together but neither commented on it, or really noticed it for that matter, however it hadn't gone unnoticed by the two men walking on either side of them. One man clenched his fists at his side, swinging them back and forth as he walked while the other had thoughts of how to get her away from him without injuring her in the process. He didn't really give a damn if he hurt Seth while doing so.
"Nope. Now, off to the locker room, Pegasus. We don't have all day." She ordered him teasingly, completely oblivious to the tension that was slowly surrounding them as she removed her arm from around his neck to point in the direction she wanted him to go before placing it back in its spot. She giggled again when he chuckled, shaking his head as he tightened his grip on her thighs.
"Alright then, hold on tight." He stated and Scarlett barely had time to do as he said before a loud squeal ripped through her lips when he began running down the hall. They seemed immune to the stares they were on the receiving end of due to the noise, just as they were immune to seeing the heated look shared between Roman and Dean as they followed quietly behind them.
Flying by numerous stagehands and Superstars who all turned to whisper amongst each other about what they just saw, Seth stopped short directly in front of their locker room door, his heart beating so hard against his chest that Scarlett could feel each beat against her arm that was wrapped around his neck. Loosening her arms and legs around him, she was prepared to be let down but was surprised when he instead kicked the door open using his foot before entering the room. The action had startled Sami who turned around on the couch to shout at whoever caused the commotion but the words quickly died on his tongue, staying silent as his eyes moved with Seth as he walked over to the very couch Sami sat on before dropping Scarlett onto it, earning a small squeak from the girl.
"Where's Ambrose and Reigns?" He questioned instead, eyeing Scarlett once more in the way that made her feel uncomfortable. Just as she was about to answer his question, probably by stuttering out her response, the 2 men in question walked through the door saving her from having to do so.
"Hey Rollins," Dean spoke as he made his way over to the couch. "You listen to Eve 6, right?" He inquired. Even though his question had been aimed at Seth, his eyes never left Scarlett's seated form as he lifted her into his arms effortlessly once he'd made it to the couch only to plop down in her spot, settling her in his lap once he was comfortable. His hand quickly found both of hers in her lap and Scarlett could feel Sami's eyes boring into her back as she laid her head against Dean's shoulder, getting comfortable herself.
"Uh, yeah. Listened to a few of their songs." Seth shrugged with one shoulder. "Why?"
Finally Dean lifted his gaze onto Seth, hard blue eyes latching onto curious brown before he said, "'Think Twice.'"
Seth's eyebrows furrowed in confusion for a second before realization dawned onto his face that was lost on Scarlett. She watched as he flicked his attention somewhere behind them, probably onto Roman, before he looked back down at Dean. "I wasn't trying to do anything, man. I swear."
"Just 'Think Twice', that's all." Dean said in a way everyone knew it was an order, not a choice. Seth nodded his head in a response which seemed to be enough for the older man as he pressed a kiss to Scarlett's head just as something on the TV screen caught his attention. "Ooh, guess Ms. Cross has hit a road block."
Turning her head to glance at the television propped up on the wall, Scarlett winced slightly as she watched Tamina press kick after kick against Tori's midsection in what would be Tori's corner of the ring causing her to slide down the turnbuckles onto the apron. She'd be on the receiving end of Tamina's boots, so she knew it wasn't the funnest place in the world to be but casting a glance to the other side of the ring Scarlett's eyebrows furrowed when AJ was nowhere in sight.
"Can't you tell her to back off these girls, Ro? We've already had Scarlett out with a rib injury because of her, Tori might be on the receiving end of one tonight." Seth groaned as he sat against the arm of the couch, eyes glued to the screen as Tamina shoved Tori off the apron using her foot.
"Doing that would be like telling me to lay off the roster; pointless and unnecessary." Roman answered, his voice closer than Scarlett thought it would be so she lifted her head and was surprised to find him standing right behind her and Dean. His eyes were focused on the screen as well but once the feeling of being watched settled in his chest he tilted his head down, connecting their eyes immediately. A grin spread across both their faces as he lifted his hand to brush some hair away from her face but the stolen moment was broken when Sami's voice filled the room next.
"Clearly you don't know her as well as you think you do if you think she can't handle this. I've seen her go through a lot worse than a couple of boots to the gut." He pointed out and when Scarlett tilted her head to glance at Seth she saw him cock his jaw slightly before glancing in Sami's direction. "She's a lot tougher than she looks."
"I didn't say she wasn't tough, I was just saying that she doesn't need to be injured." Seth said slowly, nearly through his teeth as he crossed his arms over his chest tightly.
"Alright then. That's like saying an egg doesn't have to crack once it hits the ground, it just happens." Sami countered, turning his head away from the screen for a moment to look at Seth's seething form. He caught Dean scrubbing a hand over his face before shooting him a look that said 'Fuck off' but it only caused Sami to smirk as he looked at the screen again. He watched as Tori had begun crawling towards the announce table, Tamina hot on her heels the entire way causing Sami to nod his head. "10 bucks says she uses something to cause a disqualification."
"Tori'd never cheat. She doesn't like cheating." Scarlett responded, shifting in Dean's lap so she now faced the man stating the bet. He eyed her slightly making her uncomfortable yet again but she kept her gaze locked on his, not backing down. If he thought he could come in here and run his mouth about her best friend, thinking he knew her better than she did, or even her boyfriend did, he had another thought coming. "Tori hates when people cheat, so she's not going to do that."
To Scarlett's surprise, Sami burst out laughing at her statement. "You all think you know Tori Cross so damn well, don't you? Fine, let's watch and see what Tori does then, hm?"
With that, all eyes returned back to the screen in front of them. For a moment, things seemed normal. Tori'd managed to crawl her way into the timekeepers area with Tamina following right behind her like she had been. They watched as Tamina bent over, threading her fingers through the smaller girls hair to haul her to her feet however what happened next surprised everyone in the room, except for Sami of course.
Just as Tori had been hauled up onto her feet, she spun around and smashed Tamina over the head with her Tag Team title. Scarlett watched with wide eyes when Tamina hit the ground and the ref called for the bell to be rung, calling the match on disqualification, as Tori began to stomp at the lady Samoan's ribs. Over and over again she stomped, only stopping when Charles Robinson physically lifted her away from Tamina's body. As Scarlett continued to watch her friend thrash about in the referee's arms, she noticed Tori had a familiar look in her eye, one she had only seen reflected in another pair she knew very well. She had the same look in her eye that gave Dean Ambrose the nickname of the 'Lunatic Fringe'.
"Backed into a corner, she comes out swinging just like us." Sami stated gesturing between himself and Dean, a smug smile on his lips as he turned to look at them all. His smile only growing more smug at the look of surprise on all of their faces. "But you all didn't know that, did you?"
"Fuck, if I didn't believe her indies story before I damn well do now." Dean spoke next, his eyes wide as Raw cut to a commercial. He turned his head to face Sami. "Guess we owe you about 40 bucks, don't we?"
"Nah, was just proving my point." Sami shrugged before he flicked his eyes onto Seth. "Still think you know her, Rollins?"
"Shut the fuck up, Callihan." Seth snapped as he got to his feet. Making his way over to the door, he hauled it open intent on storming out of the room but his plans were stopped as he came face to face with... an Uso. After all this time, he still couldn't tell them apart.
"Woah, where's the fire, Rollins?" The man standing in the doorway chuckled, dropping his hand that was paused in mid-air from going to knock. "Almost made me knock on your face."
"Was just gonna go meet up with my girl before she got back here. Had a bad match." Seth shrugged slightly as he opened the door wider to invite the man inside. Once he was in the room, Seth smirked at the scowl that Sami shot his way.
"I saw, man. 'Mina really went to town on the little lady. Sup Ro?" He nodded towards Roman who nodded back at him.
"Jimmy," Roman greeted his cousin, also without knowing giving everyone in the room an idea of which Uso they were staring at. "Want something?"
"Yeah, a bunch of us are heading to a club after the shows done for some St. Patrick's Day celebration and I was the only one brave enough to come invite the great and powerful Shield, ya'll up for it?" He questioned as he glanced at them all. Scarlett felt her heart jump in her throat when Jimmy's eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion once his eyes landed on her as she was currently seated in Dean's lap, holding onto his hands in a way that friends would never do. Shit.
"When aren't we down for some drinking, huh Rome?" Dean piped up, drawing Jimmy's attention away from Scarlett but only slightly as he turned to look at Roman again who was nodding his head.
"Sure, whichever of us wants to go will go, whichever one's don't can stay at the hotel, but we'll be there, don't worry." Roman confirmed with a smile causing Jimmy to smile as well and nod his head in affirmation.
"Alright then, well I'll let you all get back to whatever it was that you were doing before I showed up. I'll text you the information in a bit." He told Roman who nodded again in response before Jimmy left the room.
"Think he noticed?" Dean questioned once the door was shut. His question wasn't pointed at anyone in particular, but when they all sent him questioning looks he immediately tightened his grip around Scarlett's waist to accentuate his point whose eyebrows rose in sudden understanding.
"Oh yeah, he definitely noticed." She sighed as she tilted her head to rest it on his shoulder again. Within seconds she felt herself being watched and when she lifted her gaze her eyes locked onto Sami's but she didn't back down, continuing to stare back at him as Roman spoke next.
"I'll talk to him later, don't worry about it."
Somehow, Jimmy Uso wasn't the person Scarlett thought they should be worrying about in this arena.
A couple of hours later Scarlett's laugh was drowned out by the closing beats of the song 'Fancy' by Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX blasting through the speakers of the club they'd ended up at after Raw had wrapped up.
The ending of Raw had nearly put a damper on everyone's plans as they watched Triple H and Stephanie McMahon beat on a defenseless Daniel Bryan once again. What made him so defenseless this time, was the fact that his hands were handcuffed behind his back the entire time so he couldn't fight back. At one point Scarlett had to look away from the screen when Hunter held Daniel's face down in a bucket of water, but she'd still heard Stephanie's voice shrieking at her husband to 'Drown him! Drown him!' At that moment in time, she herself had never wanted to do anything more than run down to that ring and drown Stephanie herself in that same bucket. So while it wasn't exactly everybody going out to celebrate St. Patricks Day anymore so much as everybody just needing a drink after what they'd just witnessed.
Scarlett tapped the 'Favorite' button on her screen before she tapped the 'Retweet' button under the picture lighting up her screen. It was a picture of her, Tori and a couple of the other Diva's surrounding Sheamus who sat on one of the stools at the bar with a large grin spread across his face, the girls all making kissy faces at him. The caption of the picture was what had made Scarlett laugh though.
' WWESheamus: The only day a year when it's not a bad thing to be a Ginger. Happy St. Patty's Day! #KissMeImIrish BellaTwins WWEPayne TCross NaomiWWE'
Shaking her head in amusement she sipped at her drink as her eyes roamed over the people in the club. She immediately spotted Dean and Sami chatting at the bar, each of them nursing their own beer while she found Roman next. He was seated in a booth with his cousins, Jimmy and Jey, while Naomi had taken her spot beside Jimmy once again. She was involved in her own conversation however, her attention was fully on whatever Cameron was shouting to her over the music, but to Scarlett she didn't seem all that interested in what the fake blonde was saying.
"She's staring at him, again." Tori's voice in her ear brought her out of her thoughts. Flicking her eyes across the room, Scarlett nearly groaned as she found Renee Young, who'd caught a ride with them there, eyes glued to Dean's back as she sipped at her own drink.
"I'm going over there." Scarlett announced as she got to her feet. Just as she'd picked her drink up off the table, Tori's hand curling around her wrist made her look down at the younger girl.
"Are you sure that's smart?" She questioned, her voice taking on a worried tone as she glanced at Scarlett's glass before shifting her eyes back onto her ginger friend. "You've had a couple of drinks already."
"I'm fine, don't worry about me. I'll play nice with the Canadian." Scarlett smiled, leaning down to press a soft kiss to Tori's cheek. The younger girl immediately flushed, just like Scarlett knew she would, releasing her wrist so Scarlett could leave. It took a few minutes to weave her way through the bodies on the dance floor but she plastered a fake smile on her face once she made it to the table Renee sat at alone.
"What did I tell you?" She questioned causing the blonde to jump before turning to look at her. "He's nothing but trouble."
"You- You know where I was looking?" She questioned and Scarlett held back the urge to roll her eyes, merely patting Renee's arm in pretend sympathy instead.
"I saw from the other side of the room." She stated as she slid into the seat next to the blonde who'd tilted her head down to peer into her martini glass, swirling the liquid around before taking a long sip. "There's nothing to feel bad about, but there's plenty of other guys around here that are so much better than him."
"He doesn't seem to be as bad as you make him out to be though." Renee argued. "I mean, if he's so bad why isn't he hitting up some skirt right now?"
"His friend's in town." Scarlett shrugged slightly, taking a sip of her drink as well. "If his friend isn't getting laid tonight, maybe he actually has blood in the right head right now by staying with him."
She noticed Renee cringe at her crudeness but she couldn't help it, she was trying to make a point that the older blonde wasn't taking very lightly. "Look, I can prove to you he doesn't care if the girl is single or not. I can prove to you what a complete scumbag he truly is."
"You can?" She questioned, arching a perfect eyebrow in Scarlett's direction.
"I can." She nodded before downing the rest of her drink, making it seem like it was to handle her nerves. "I bet you anything I can make him dance with me no problem."
"Won't Roman get mad?"
"Roman's not looking, he's too busy with his cousin's. Just watch, alright?"
"Alright."
Scarlett's gentle smile turned into a devious smirk once she'd turned her back to the Canadian and began crossing the room, heading not to where Dean and Sami sat, but instead to the DJ booth. Carefully climbing up the stairs, she whispered what song she wanted played into the guys ear before slipping him a couple of hundred-dollar bills. He nodded with a sly smile that made her skin crawl but she smiled back nonetheless, her smirk returning once she'd hit the bottom of the stairs and 'Talk Dirty' rang out through the club.
Her eyes connected to his before she even made it over to him, a smirk of his own lighting up his face as she approached him. While a second ago her skin was crawling from the DJ's creepy smile, her skin now lit on fire as his eyes looked her over from head to toe. Once she reached him and Sami, she said nothing as she reached for his beer, lifting it to her lips to take a drink before handing it back to him.
"Wanna dance with me?" She asked him, lifting her hand up to twirl a lock of her hair around her finger as she bit her lip. Her smirk grew when she noticed his eyes zero in on her mouth, knowing how much it affected him when she bit her lip.
"I don't see why not." He drawled as he rose from his stool before turning to look at Sami. "Don't ditch me for some chick."
"Like you're doing to me right now?" He shot back and Scarlett was genuinely surprised at the chuckle in his voice. "Whatever man, go have fun."
"Oh I will. Come on, Princess." Dean smirked as he took Scarlett's hand and guided her out onto the dance floor.
And have fun they did. He immediately settled behind her, placing his hands low on her hips as she lifted her arms up and around his neck to hold him to her. He followed her lead, his hips moving in time with hers, swaying each way she went as their bodies moved in unison. Pressing her hips back into his a small gasp escaped her lips when she felt his semi-hard erection press against her lower back.
"You gonna talk dirty to me this time, Princess? Last time you wouldn't." He whispered huskily against her ear, nipping at it slightly with his teeth. Scarlett briefly closed her eyes at the sensations running through her but she opened them again a second later, searching around the crowd for one person. Once she found her, Scarlett found her surprised reaction almost comical. Did Renee actually think she couldn't pull it off? Of course, the woman had no idea how easy this would've been for her, but that was just fine with her.
"Talk dirty to me, baby." Dean whispered against her ear in that same voice sending a chill up her spine. Spinning around to face him instead she pressed her body against his again, moving their hips together as his hands roamed down her sides, stopping just above her ass. Scarlett could feel her heart hammering away in her chest, she knew what she wanted to say to him, but it wasn't at all what he would be expecting.
Glancing around them to see if anyone they personally knew was close to them, she felt a little tension roll off her shoulders when she didn't see anyone. Lifting onto her tiptoes, she drew her mouth up next to his ear before saying the words, "I love you."
His reaction was one she hadn't predicted would happen.
"What?" He questioned as he immediately separated himself from her. Glancing up at him, his eyes were wide with surprise as he stared down at her. "What did you just say to me?"
"I-I.." She stuttered, feeling her heart sink in her chest as she looked around them again, double checking nobody they knew was around before she looked at him again. His shocked expression weighed heavy in her chest. "I said, I said that I love you..."
"You.." He started before shaking his head in disbelief. Running his fingers through his hair, he looked back down at her. "You don't ever say that to me. That shit's for Roman, not me." He stated before turning on his heel and walking off. She felt the pain in her chest make it's way up into her eyes, tears beginning to streak her vision as she watched him yank Sami off his bar stool before dragging him out of the club entirely. Then realization dawned onto her of what he said.
"You don't ever say that to me. That shit's for Roman, not me." He didn't love her, that message was clear enough.
Swallowing her pride and wiping her eyes on the backs of her hands, she didn't care if she smudged her make up as she walked up to the table Tori sat at with Seth. She grabbed her purse and her jacket, not bothering to answer her friend's questions of 'Are you alright?' and 'Scarlett? Why are you crying?' She didn't answer anything, merely sniffing her nose slightly as she made her way out of the club as well.
She quickly flagged down a taxi and climbed inside, giving the driver the address of her hotel. Once she arrived she made her way up to her room, the one she'd be sharing with Dean that night, as she kicked off her shoes, stripped out of her dress and crawled under the covers to wait. Wait for him to come through their bedroom door.
Tori came in once the group had returned followed by Seth, asking if she was alright once again. The response she gave back was a weak smile, saying she hadn't felt all that great and while she didn't think they bought her excuse, they still nodded their heads and left the room. Roman came in next. It was harder to hold it together in front of him when he'd sat down next to her and brushed her hair away from her face, rubbing the mascara stained tears from her cheeks as he asked her what was wrong. She told him the same story she told Tori and Seth, she didn't think he bought it either, but was glad he didn't push. She returned his goodnight immediately once he'd said it, but she'd paused when he said those 3 little words which hadn't gone unnoticed by him but once again, he didn't question it. Returning to his own room once she'd said it, leaving her to her thoughts as she waited for one more person to come through her bedroom door.
When the clock hit 6 AM and the sun was beginning to rise up in the sky, Scarlett let her tears fall freely down her cheeks as she curled up in the middle of the bed holding the covers close to her chest, alone.
Dean hadn't returned.
...So, you all couldn't wait for her to say 'I love you' to Dean and now she has. Happy? Leave your reviews so I know what you're all thinking please! :)
