AN: So, here is the last chapter before the next episode. Sumi's days in the club are numbered. She's going to be telling Takashi soon. And the Host Club are going to be finding out about Yuki and Kyoya soon. And Lobelia is coming. Drama, drama, drama, so much drama.

This chapter is named after a song. A Christmas to Remember is a Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers song that I've loved since I was a kid. I listen to it many times every year at Christmastime. The song I keep mentioning and referencing to will be put in a later chapter. The song is Holding Out For a Hero, but the cover is by Ella Mae Bowen. It's slowed down. I found it and just fell in love with it.

This chapter is dedicated to Fandom-Princess-C, Cardfighter By Maple, and Musical cake.

I hope you all enjoy the chapter.

Happy reading.

Chapter Forty-Nine: A Christmas to Remember

Yuki's POV

"And to think I thought this was just two friends having dinner." I told him when we sat down. One of the fanciest restaurants I've ever been in and we had our own private room, this looked like more than just dinner, "Although, it is you."

"It's just dinner and exchanging gifts."

"Which do you wanna do that now or later?"

Kyoya's POV

Timing was a good question and as much as I would like to say it was otherwise, unless tonight goes better than it's supposed to for some unknown reason that I will not question if it did, it was merely dinner. Nothing more, nothing less, only dinner, not that it was easy to focus on that. I was doing everything I could not to focus on how she looked in her dress, and her hair, oh her hair, I don't think I've really ever curled, if I didn't know better, I wouldn't have thought she did it herself.

"Later is fine." I replied, keeping my cool, "You look lovely by the way."

"Really?" She replied surprised, "I-"

"You're stunning."

"Thank you." She smiled, "Why aren't there menus?"

"Because I've already taken care of everything." I replied nonchalantly.

Yuki's POV

And take care of things, he did. Coq au vin and sparking cider was for dinner, dinner was simple, but it tasted extravagant. Before dessert, we decided to exchange gifts.

"Do you wanna go first or shall I?" I asked him.

"Up to you."

"You open yours first." I replied, taking out his presents, "Just to warn you though-"

"They're not extravagant?" He finished, I nodded, "You have a good eye and you know me, I don't care about their extavavagance." And then he took note of the Grinch wrapping paper, "That isn't funny."

"It is a little. " I smiled.

He rolled his eyes and shook his head as he opened the first one, the swiss army knife. He looked at me confused.

"It's a swiss army knife." I explained, "I saw it in a store and picked it up after we got locked in the club room, I couldn't resist. It's got like three knifes, a saw, two screw drivers, wire stripper, reamer/punch, scissors, multipurpose hook, cap lifter, corkscrew, can opener, and I think a couple of other things. So, if the rest of the club ever decides to-"

"I'll have a way out of it." He finished, "Smart."

He opened the other gift and looked even more confused.

"It's a pen." He stated.

"Open it." I replied. He took off the top part, "It's a flash drive and a pen. You can save documents, files, photos, and write notes with it. It's got like 8GB storage, I don't know if that's good or not, but I thought it was cool and it might be useful to you."

"It's brilliant." He smiled, "Thank you for both of them."

"Oh my god, you're actually smiling!" I exclaimed.

"I am not."

"You were." I smiled.

"Open you gifts." He replied.

Kyoya's POV

I gave her the bracelet with the least explanation first. The second one I planned tonight around after researching what stone I wanted to give her. This was my apology to her, not that I haven't made it already, I had several times, and I didn't think her forgiveness could be bought or spending money on her would bring her back, but I hoped that knowing her as well as I did would.

The first bracelet was a sterling silver heart tag bracelet with a key. The heart had a keyhole in it to represent a lock and had 'Tiffany' for Tiffany & Co spelled out in petals.

"It's beautiful." She said softly, "Tiffany? Like Breakfast at Tiffany's?"

"I thought you should have at least something from there since you love her movies so much." I replied coolly.

"I love it, Kyo." She smiled.

"I have one more for you." I replied, handing her the gift that needed more explanation.

When she opened it, she stared at it surprised for a moment and then looked at me, and then back at bracelet, and then she kissed me deeply. I pulled her closer to me and kissed her back.

The second bracelet was sterling silver with a moonstone in the center and two small round diamonds halfway down the side. The diamond was her birthstone, they did symbolize innocence and constancy, but they were not the reason for her reaction, it was the moonstone.

The moonstone, according to my research, brings good fortune, enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, brings success in love as well as business matters, offers protection on land and at sea. It has been worn as an amulet to bring good emotions to the wearer, while protecting those of a sensitive nature. It is a reflection of the person who owns it. It does not add or detract, only shows how it is. Those were the reasons I got it, but they weren't the reason for her reaction.

It is said if you give your lover a moonstone necklace when the moon is full you will always have passion with each other. It can reunite lovers who have quarreled. There was I reason why I planned for dinner to be tonight, why I planned for us to exchange gifts tonight. Tonight was a full moon.

Sumi's POV

After dinner we came back and decorated the house. Not only did we decorate the house, we turned on music and decorated it from bottom to top. It took hours, but it was so much fun. When we were done we sat down in front of the fire and talked about anything, everything, and nothing at all.

I took his presents out from under the tree and handed them to him, "These are for you. They're not all that extravagant, but I thought since your other one broke I thought you might want a new one. You're kind of a hard person to shop for." I told him as he opened the iPod, "And I wasn't quite sure which color to pick."

"It's perfect." He replied, "Thank you."

He opened the sport armband for the iPod and looked at me intrigued.

"I thought it might be a good idea for training, practice, and working out, so you have somewhere to put you iPod that-" I started to ramble. He kissed me.

"Thank you." He replied, "I have something for you as well."

He pulled out a little box out of his pocket and opened it.

"Takashi?" My eyes widened.

"It's not an engagement ring." He stated, "It's a promise ring." He bent down on one knee before me, "I know you're not ready to get married and I respect that, that's why this isn't a promise for marriage, it's a promise of my love for you. Sumi, when we first met, I knew we'd get along, I knew we'd be friends, but I didn't expect to fall in love with you, but I did and I've been in love with you for a long time. Love is friendship on fire. There's a trust and comfort about it, but there is also passion and desire, and that is exactly how I feel about you. Before I met you I was worried, I had already met the woman of my dreams and didn't recognize her, but you- you are everything that I've ever wanted, but never fully knew that I did. I knew I wanted something that I wanted, but I wasn't sure exactly what that was. I didn't realize it until later, but what I wanted was someone like you. You are what I never knew I always wanted. Over the past year, you've stolen my heart with your kindness and selflessness." He looked down and shook his head, and then looked back up at me, "Don't think of this as a promise to get engaged to get married eventually, I love you, I want to marry you, but you're right, we are too young and we shouldn't get married when and because our parents say we should. We should get married if we want to and when we believe it's the right time. This ring is merely a token of my love for you and that I will always love you."

That was the most I've ever heard him say, not just at one time, but ever, and he was confessing his love for me. The ring was just as breathtaking as the speech. It was a white and blue diamond sterling silver infinity ring. The white diamonds outlayed the weaving infinity, with the blue diamond at the center. Both, well the speech more than the ring, made me tear up.

"I love you." He repeated.

I kissed him, I couldn't help it. It was like I needed to. Every instinct was telling me that I needed to. My mind and my heart, which had been fighting since I got here, agreed for that moment that I needed him. He was the hero I had been holding out for, the reason I felt a connection to that song. I met the guy, no the man, who would be my hero.

I pulled away, "I love you." I told him sincerely, "So much, so, so much."

He kissed me lovingly, I wrapped my arms around him, and kissed him back, putting every feeling I had into the kiss, every wish, every desire, I knew would never come true.

I loved him. More and more with every day, every hour, possibly even with every minute that passed. And when this was all over, when I tell him the truth, he is going to hate me.
