A/N: Hello all of my dear readers. So here for you the next chapter for Tales of an immortal being. Just a silly little one, but one that I liked. I'm already working on several other chapters for this story, so I hope to be able to put out more soon (though the biggest one is being a pain...). Forgive me for any mistakes I have made, I'm not English. Please enjoy!

Merlin groaned as he leaned against the dryer. He hated needing to go down to the town for his laundry, but since someone, a rather annoying white dragon, completely destroyed their washing machine. He had to say he was a fan of the machine which may be the world's most incredible invention. Nowadays it didn't take hours anymore to do the laundry, just a couple of minutes to put it in and to get it out.

So two years ago he bought this Bosch washing machine; 1600 rPM per minute, a triple A energy efficiency, oh how he loved 'her'. And than Aithusa destroyed her. He wanted to cry.

''Excuse me, do you have some change, I seemed to have forgotten some of my own.''

He spun around hearing this woman's voice and he immediately stood eye to eye with a blond haired woman. He wanted to take a step backwards, which he failed to do as he stood against a dryer, she stood far to close for comfort. ''Ehmm... Yeah, of course.'' He quickly reached to grab his wallet and he pulled out a couple of coins.

''Ah, you're truly my hero!'' She said before turning to put in the coins. The machine immediately started, roaring as it pumped water, soaking the clothes. The blond haired woman than turned back to him. ''It will take a while before it's finished, so why don't you and I get some tea, my hero deserves it after all.''

''Uhmm, no you don't h-.''

But he didn't get a chance to finish his words as the woman grabbed his arm and started to drag him outside. She glanced once more at the owner before shouting. ''Ray, look over our laundry!'' The only reaction she got was a thumbs-up from the brown haired man reading his newspaper.

He let out a little yelp, but soon gave up and followed the woman. He could feel that she had no bad intentions. They ended up in front of an small apartment, but it was cozy and reminded him somewhat of his own home.

Merlin sat down on the couch and soon after he was handed a cup of tea. The woman was staring intensely at him. ''Ah, I fear that I haven't introduced myself. I'm Jackie Tyler.''

''Merlin Emrys.''

Jackie giggled. ''That's an... intriguing name. Your parents were history lovers?''

''Sort of.'' He answered.

''And do you have an girlfriend... boyfriend?'' While asking she leaned forwards, showing a bit more skin than he would have liked to see.

He nearly chocked on his tea. W-was she trying to flirt with him? ''N-no I don't have a relationship at the moment, but I'm also not looking for someone.'' He tried to explain.

Jackie's face fell and a slight pout spread over her lips. ''Ah, I see.''

They talked a bit more, about work and things that had happened in the neighborhood the last couple of months. The thought went for a moment to his laundry that now lay dry in the dryer at the shop, he hoped that this Ray guy would look after it.

His cup was nearly empty when he heard the front door. Jackie's eyes immediately started to shine as she jumped up. ''Rose!'' She screamed out as she rushed to the front door.

Merlin stayed behind, setting his cup back on the table, he figured that this Rose was Jackie's daughter. He flinched as he heard Jackie's voice scream in delight several times. ''Come in Rose, come in. I want you to meet someone.''

And than he saw them. A bright smile crossed his lips. Rose and the doctor. He stood up and walked over to the little group. Rose was staring him and down before lifting her eyebrow as she turned to look at her mother. ''A bit young for you, don't you think?''

Jackie looked hurt at her daughter. ''He's just a friend, helped me out with the laundry. Besides isn't he something for you?''

''Mom!'' Rose screamed before turning to him, a blush on her cheeks. ''I'm sorry about that.''

''It's fine, but it's good to see you again, Rose?''

She blinked at him. ''You know me.''

They had only met each other when he was just a little boy, he had a grown up quite a lot since then so he wasn't surprised that she didn't recognize him. ''Yes, back when I was very little. I also know the doctor.'' The last he said as he turned to the doctor, the man too was staring in fascination at him. ''Oh and I'm sorry for doing this.'' And with that said he turned his hand in a fist and punched the doctor straight in the face.

The doctor stumbled backwards, groaning. ''Ouch, what did you do that for?!''

He let out a slight growl, that punch felt far to good. ''Because you left me in the Sahara desert, the Sahara desert!'' He screamed.

''I- I don't even know you!''

''You do know me, though I do believe that it hasn't happened to you yet.'' The last he said after releasing a frustrated sigh, time travel was rather annoying.

''You were a companion of the doctor?'' Rose asked startled next to him.

He turned to her with a smile on his face. ''Not exactly, just a friend he sometimes meets on the way.'' He turned to look at the doctor before turning back. ''And to answer your earlier question again, yes, we have met in the past. Like I said I was rather young when we met, so I'm not surprised that you don't recognize me. Let me introduce myself again, I'm Merlin.''

Rose frowned, before he face lit up in complete shock. ''W-what! That can't be! You mean the little Merlin that we met in the woods near Ealdor?'' He gave her a small nod. ''B-but... how? That was 500 years ago!''

Yeah, you're right about that. It was 500 years ago, but magic is an fascinating thing.'' He then turned to the doctor and lay his hand gently on the man's face. ''Forbærning.'' The bruise that already started to form was immediately healed.

The doctor blinked at him, before an amused smile crossed his lips. ''I should have recognized you.'' He lay his own hand on Merlin's shoulder. ''I take it that you're still waiting for him to return?''

A sigh left his lips when he nodded. ''Yeah, I'm still waiting. I hope it will be soon, but I don't know. We will see.'' He inhaled deeply before staring with a smile at Jackie. ''Thank you for the tea, but I will be taking my leave now.'' He didn't wait for her to answer as he walked to the door. His hand resting on the doorknob. ''Doctor?''

''Yes?''

''I know that it's still early in your time line, but I do want to thank you in advance for everything that you have done for me. Please look after me next time that you see me.''

The doctor gave him a nod in return, while a smile was plastered on his face. ''I will.''

''Thank you and good luck.'' Because he knew that the doctor would need it. And with that said he walked out the door. A sad smile spread over his lips as he walked down the stairs. Now to get back to his laundry.
