Like I said before this is where it's going to start getting a little dark simply because a lot of dark stuff happens in Harry's 6th year(Katie's 7th) but don't worry there will be tons and tons of comic relief of course! Because where there is Katie and Oliver and Fred and George and Leanne...how can there not?

"What about this one?" Katie asked showing Leanne another dress. "This one looks like the dress you wore last year at the Ball."

"Oh," Leanne peered at the magazine. "You're right" she sighed. "I can't believe Alisha invited us. I mean how often to we get invited to high class parties like that?"

"I know and-" She started before being rudely shoved to the side. She was about to protest before she noticed who it was.

"Harry?" Leanne questioned puzzled as Harry ran past them. Hermione and Ron running after him, calling out his name.

"He's been doing that lately." Katie said. "Talking to himself, dozing off in class and ever since Dumbledore left he's just not the same."

"Maybe he's sick." Leanne suggested. "He saw Cedric die after all"

Katie shrugged. "Maybe."

"Haven't you noticed things are changing?" Leanne asked. "All these attacks in the news, even muggles are worried."

"I don't know Leanne." Katie said quickly. She had heard the rumors, and she did believe it when Harry said that you-know-who was back, but she didn't want to accept it, not now.

"Katie?" Leanne asked again.

"We should get ready for the party." Katie said quickly. "Alisha said we would have to be ready by 5."

"It's not every day a girl turns 17." Melody said her voice filled with awe as they entered the mansion, Alisha's home. The ceilings were filled with paintings and hand drawn angels that flew around dusting them with gold powder. Marble columns raced the edges and the place seemed to grow with each step that Leanne took. She could see house-elves bustling around greeting the guests and carrying food on silver platters.

"Don't mind if I do." Melody said scooping down to grab a pumpkin treat from the nearest house-elf who looked embarrassed as she gave him a kiss afterwards.

The fact that the Kobra's were rich was an understatement, Leanne decided. She suddenly felt under dressed and minuscule...she didn't belong here. Why did she let Katie and Melody talk her into this?

"Why did I let you talk me into this?" She asked out loud.

"You'll be thanking me later." Katie smirked punching her lightly.

"I've just spotted the love of my life!" Melody said suddenly making a beeline towards the buffet table. Leanne rolled her eyes.

She spotted Alisha a few feet away looking the newly 17 turned adult she was now.

"You guys made it!" Alisha greeted them breathlessly. "It's not too boring is it?"

"You have a chocolate fountain." Katie reiterated pointing to the huge fountain in the middle of the room. "The most I can afford on my debut is going to be butter-beer and chocolate frogs."

Alisha grinned. "I'm so glad you guys are here. Truly. Please help yourself to anything you want." she assured them before returning to being hostess to those around them. Leanne couldn't help but notice how she knew almost no one around them.

"I just saw Marcus," Leanne said as soon as Alisha was out of earshot. "And get this, he's Alisha's half cousin."

Katie gagged. "You know who I saw?"

"No-" Leanne started shaking her head.

"Tereeeenceeeeee!" Katie sang. "He was going all goo goo eyes at you."

"Please." Leanne rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but hide her smile.

"Oh look Mikaela's here too!" Katie said waving the girl over. So there was someone she knew here!

"Oh thank god you two are here!" Mikaela gushed. "I didn't recognize anyone else."

"It's just us here than." Leanne glanced nervously around.

"Oh Randalls here too!" Melody pointed out the tall boy who was talking to Alisha.

"I haven't seen Ian around." Katie commented. "He and Alisha are literally attached to the hip."

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen them together for a while either-did they break up?" Mikaela asked. "No wonder I saw her crying the other day."

"Alisha Kobra crying?" Katie gasped. "I bet Ian did something! Why I should-!"

"Katie!" Leanne warned.

"What?" Katie cried. "She always looks like she's on top of things, and you remember that day we helped her with career planning-oh hey Ian!"

Ian Victor smiled at them. "It's a pleasure to meet Alisha's friends once again, she always does speak highly of you. I'm so glad you're joining us tonight. Not many would."

Something in his voice made Leanne nervous.

"Really?" Melody grinned. "That's awfully nice of her. And for inviting us too."

Ian smiled again and bowed. "Enjoy the rest of your evening ladies."

"He's nice." Katie decided. "I take back what I said."

Leanne nodded but she could feel herself being given many odd looks. Randall too seemed nervous.

"Is it just me," Mikaela asked "Or is there another reason we're here."

"You're not alone." Leanne whispered nervously. "I think we should-"

"Go." Randall finished turning around.

There was a sudden tinkle of china and everyone turned their attention to the middle where Alisha stood with who Leanne presumably assumed were her parents.

"I thank you all for taking time to attend my daughter Alisha's debut. It's not every day we gain another loyal wizard."

Leanne narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

"Dad!" Alisha protested trying to speak but her dad continued. "Each year we grow in numbers and hopefully in the years to come, we will be more than just the handful we are now."

"As of today I am proud to announce my daughter's engagement to Ian Victor. To our future numbers and many more!" He raised his glasses prompting several others to do so.

Leanne did not. For some reason she looked right at Terrence who at first looked unsure if he should. Their eyes met and she saw something in them-something she didn't quite recognize as he finally raised his own glass.

Katie looked around, confused. "Leanne what am I missing? I dozed off didn't I? I always do this-"

"Katie shut up." Leanne said quietly. "We have to go."

"What?" Katie shook her head. "We haven't even gotten to the dances yet!"

"Katie, let's go!" Leanne urged. Randall was already moving, Mikaela at his side.

"Leanne, what's wrong?" Katie asked fear building up in her voice.

"Katie, listen to me-" Leanne started.

"No." Katie shook her head. "This isn't happening. We're not leaving. He's not back. Nothing is going to happen-"

Someone screamed and fell to the ground- followed by another and another. Leanne let out a gasp as the man next to her groaned in pain. She could make out the black mark on his arm before he flew up and disappeared into black smoke.

"No." Katie's eyes widened watching where he had disappeared moments before. "No."

"Katie."

Around them people disappeared into black smoke, while others laughed gleefully. Leanne looked back once more, she knew not why, at Terrence. He wasn't smiling. He just shook and mouthed one word to her.

Go.
