Ookami Bound
Teasing Fido
The bunny incident had not quite fallen out of mind when a couple of days later Byakuya sensed the Ookami's presence near the pen once more.
Gray eyes dark with disapproval zeroed in on the beast skulking back and forth along the coop.
"What are you doing, Ookami?" The deep voice was as even as ever, but still rang with remonstration.
The triangular ears flicked back and forth at the sound of the voice, and the long elegant tail began to swish side to side, but the canine did not turn to him.
Byakuya's eyes narrowed as he watched the black nose continue to sniff along the cage's latch that just so happened to be at the perfect level for the quadruped. A frown began to pull his lips downward, the irritation shifting to curiosity as he took note of something he hadn't before.
"Why do they not fear you?" He questioned eyeing the various rabbits moseying about their enclosure, taking little note of the predator monitoring them.
The tail wagged just a little faster and the female finally cast a smug, yet secretive look over her shoulder before licking her chops and turning back to her observations.
A distinct pain he only associated with the demon before him struck with sharpness at his left temple. He found himself grinding his back teeth and instantly stopped upon realizing. After a deep inhale he warned, "Whatever you find yourself contemplating, Ookami, best to put such designs from your mind…"
The wolf gave a snort and lifted its head, pacing slowly to the right along the enclosure's length.
"Impudent dog." Byakuya scoffed before he could stop himself.
Tsukiko whirled around at this baring her teeth with a low growl. She did not like to be referred to in such common terms!
Indulging in this response, Byakuya lifted a brow, "If you are hungry there are scraps in the trash."
The growling intensified.
A smirk tugged at the noble's mouth. "You're looking haggard, Dog. A case of mange?"
Insulted, Tsukiko snapped out a sharp bark, garnering the first reaction from the bunnies who startled and fled in all directions within their confines.
Glancing back as the scrabbling, grunting noises hit her ears, Tsukiko whined. Pouting, her ears slicked back against her head as she watched the now cowering rabbits.
Byakuya's smirk grew. With a satisfied sniff he turned on his heel.
