Chapter 53

Asami and Iroh walked in a dense forest. The two knew that they had many important professional duties but the two friends would not give up this opportunity. "Are you sure she was sighted in this forest?" asked Asami her friend.

"Yes. Some of my contacts told me they saw a spirit like creature in the forest, who helped people in time of need. They said that the person moved gracefully, like a leaf, holding two swords," spoke Iroh as he looked down on earth.

"Don't worry, we will find Korra," replied Asami as she put her hand gently on Iroh's shoulder.

"It's not that. When I saw her last time, I knew that she wanted to run away but I could not imagine that she would not return. I thought that baby turtle duck would return by the end of the week," answered Iroh.

"Look, don't blame yourself on what you did or did not do. We finally found Korra's trail and we will soon reunite with her," smiled Asami as she hugged Iroh.

As the two former lovers continued walking amongst the trees, they soon found a small river that passed through the forest. "Lets take a break," suggested Iroh as the two young adults sat on the grass.

"Well, well, look who we have here! A Fire Nation heir to the throne and the Princess of the Republic City! We are going to be rich boys," spoke a man in ton clothes as he appeared next to the two friends. Asami and Iroh soon noticed that twenty more thugs surrounded them.

Iroh ignited his fists while Asami took a defensive position and activated her Equalist glove. The two friends would not go without a fight. But before the two could do anything, another figure appeared next to them.

The new arrived person was clearly a woman. She had a white blue mask with two large fangs; she was holding two curved Dao swords. "Let them go!" Spoke the woman as she looked at the leader of the thugs.

"Or what? What would you do to us, Blue Spirit? We outnumber you," spoke the man. Before anyone could do anything, the Blue Spirit rose in the air and flew towards the group with lightning speed. The thugs were unable to hit their attacker, as the woman was very agile as she dodged their every attack. Soon twenty thugs lay on the ground.

The thug leader look in horror as his men were all defeated. He then charged at the Blue Spirit himself, who easily dodged his attack. "You will pay for this you bitch," spoke the thug as his sword parried with the Blue Spirit's sword.

Before he could do anything, a large air ball hit the thug in the stomach, and he fell on the ground. Asami and Iroh recovered from what had occurred, as they still did not believe on what had happened. The Blue Spirit took of her mask, revealing a very familiar tanned brunette face, who looked a bit older than they saw her two years ago. The woman's hair was no longer a ponytail; instead she let her hair down, only keeping her side tails.

"Hello," spoke Korra as she looked at her friends, who run and quickly hugged her. "Don't worry, I am ready to come back, " smiled the Avatar.

The three friends stood up and began their journey back to Republic City. After they exited the forest. Asami guided them to her plane and the trio flew back to the city.

As they flew, Korra sat between Iroh and Asami and looked at the surroundings. "So how long I was away?" asked the Avatar.

"Two years," replied Asami as she continued to pilot the vehicle.

"Did I miss anything? Were Equalists defeated? Did anything interesting happen in Republic City?" asked Korra as she looked at her friends, who were silent for a few seconds.

"My life is still mostly the same, although I spend a lot of time in Republic City," replied Iroh.

"My new company has grown rapidly," smiled Asami, "Bolin quit the Police Force one night after he returned bruised; Mako did not want to let Bolin out of his room until he agreed to quit. Ironically, Mako joined the force a year later." Spoke Asami as she soon saw the Republic City. The plane descended and the three got out as soon as it landed.

"See you later, Korra, Asami," spoke Iroh he walked towards his Satomobile and drove away.

"You broke up, haven't you?" asked Korra her friend, who was stunned.

"How did you figure out?" asked confused business lady.

"After leaving for two years in a dark and dangerous forest, you learn how to see a few things," smiled Korra as the two young women sat in Asami's car and drove to the center of the city, where Asami lived.

"It is not as good as my former house," spoke Asami as the two entered the three story high-detached house.

"This is wonderful!" smiled Korra as she observed the house. It was much smaller than the former Sato mansion; still it was rather large, having five bedrooms on the second and third floors.

"Korra?" asked Bolin as he entered the kitchen, only wearing pants. The boy blushed.

"Asami, I though you would return tomorrow. I got to go," spoke Bolin quickly as he run upstairs.

"Why is Bolin here?" questioned the Avatar as another person entered the kitchen. He first went to the refrigerator to grab a drink, but then noticed that he was not alone. Unlike Bolin, his brother was fully dressed.

"How was your trip," Mako run towards Asami and hugged the girl, the two briefly kissed.

"Wait, you and Mako, Mako and you" spoke Korra, "What about Iroh?"

"Our relationship did not work out. We broke up ten months ago. A few months later, I began dating Mako," smiled Asami as she kissed her boyfriend again.

"That is very nice," spoke Korra with a hint of hurt in her voice, that neither Asami nor Mako noticed.

That night the four members of the Team Avatar, as well as Naga and Pabu sat happily at the kitchen table. "Team Avatar is back," spoke Bolin as the other three young adults smiled.
