Epilogue
"I just can't believe this," Renee huffed at her computer screen.
"What's wrong," her husband popped his head out of the bathroom.
"Bella's having technical difficulties so she can only send me emails."
"Aw I'm sorry babe."
"You'd think that fancy fiancé would buy a satellite to fix it."
"I thought we liked Edward."
"We do. He's perfect for her, and I'm glad he's dragging her around the world. She's getting everything she thought she never wanted," she grinned.
Charlie frowned at the shelves of diapers. There was a whole aisle of them. When Bella had been a baby, there were only three or four types to choose from. Fortunately the baby wasn't due for another two months.
"Bells!" he smiled into his phone after it rang.
"How are you feeling?"
"Good, everything's just different. It'll take some time getting used to."
Charlie nodded. He'd been briefed by Dr Cullen over the last month since Bella's last visit. He'd nearly had a heart attack when he learned he was going to be a grandfather.
"How's Seth? I'm guessing you haven't killed each other yet."
"Not that I don't want to..."
"Oh..."
"Seth's fine. Other than the bad smell, we got along great. It's just... he imprinted."
"Oh really?"
"But don't worry. He'll be back in Washington soon. Edward will make sure of it. He can visit again in another thirty or maybe fifty years."
"Oh! Oh, I didn't realize that could... happen. He frowned thinking about his new granddaughter Carly."
"It's very weird."
"Yes, it is. I hate that you've had to make so many... new adjustments."
"It's okay Dad. It's been worth it."
"Listen kiddo, I've gotta go. I'm at the market..." he eyed Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Newton at the end of the aisle.
"Can you believe it - having a baby at his age?" Mrs Newton tsk tsked.
"Well he did have Bella when he was in high school," Mrs Stanley shook her head. "But Jess was telling me that she thought she saw Bella while on her cruise in Alaska a month ago."
"Oh no..."
"Let's just say..."
"No!"
"Someone's in the family way."
Edward crept into the bedroom quietly watching his mate's breathing. He shred off his clothes quickly and slipped into the sheets. He grinned as she rolled over and nuzzled into his side. He loved playing this game with her.
"Mmmm, Carly?"
"Emmett's watching her sleep."
"Mmmm..."
"Dream about anything interesting?"
"Remember the first night we-"
"Yes," he smirked.
"Met," Bella rolled her eyes. "You hated me. I was so foolish. I can't believe you didn't just drug me again and make me believe it was all a dream."
"I thought about it. I thought about many different scenarios in fact."
"But I guess the only good thing about Seth imprinting was that it proved she was meant to happen. We were meant to be."
"I'd thought we had proven that - many many times."
"We have..." she smiled at his innuendo. "I just like the confirmation - for the sake of our souls and everything."
"I thought I've conceded on this already."
"Yes, but I'd like to remind though."
"Hmmm okay, but only of we get to confirming our love soon. Who knows how long her nap will last?"
"We've got plenty of time."
AN: Thank you to everyone who's reading this. I'm sorry it took so long. I would be furious with myself but I'm just too tired.
Yes, I changed Reneesme's name to Carly; and It's Seth - not Jake who imprinted. Which is weirder: imprinting on your sorta uncle or your mom's ex who she definitely slept with?
I skipped over the whole pregnancy because we didnt need to drag this story on for 50 more chapters. It wasn't going to be much different than the original.
I'm going to try to continue to write - even some things that aren't twilight related.
But let's be honest - half of twific isn't really twilight related. haha I've logged onto fiction press, but haven't posted a thing. I have several stories in progress and I will eventually post them on here or there. :)
