You all thought I gave up on this story! NO! Here is the (short, but there will be more!) proof of that!

Ohara's eyes widened to impossible dimensions. On top of her, her lord stood, more bloodied and battered then she had seen him before, and judging by her equally bloody paws, it was her who had fought him. But why? Why would she turn on her lord? Why had she turned on him again? She couldn't remember! What was wrong with her? Could she not control her own actions any more?

Sesshomaru was in his fully canine form, as was she. She saw red staining his remaining foreleg, like she had bit or clawed it. Such an injury could seriously hinder him in battle, especially one with a sword. His powerful yoki was battling with hers for dominance, though both were slowly receding. His huge red eyes, normally so telling in his true form, were as emotionless as those of his human semblance. His fur, usually pure and fluffy, stained red from his wounds and green from the foliage they had trampled.

This form could not speak, and for once, Ohara was glad. She had betrayed Sesshomaru first unknowingly at the castle she had been captured at, out of compassion for humans at the village, then had been forced to by the lord of the village. Though he had forgiven her for all she had done against him, she doubted there was any more compassion left for this last betrayal. She had clearly attacked him, directly and intentionally. She had fought fiercely, intending to bring the great inuyokai down for reasons unknown to her. In doing so she had destroyed both his trust of her and her own honor.

Such a betrayal could not be forgiven.

She could never forgive herself, even if he forgave her.

Now she knew what Kohaku was trying do for Songo. He knew he could hurt his sister should Naraku reclaim him as a puppet, and most likely would. He couldn't control himself. But the boy did not have the power, even with his jewel shard, to fight the demon lord. Unfortunately, Ohara did, and did not have the excuse of another's influence.

She could not stay.

The green canine transformed, wriggling her smaller dragon's body between the inuyokai's forelegs and off into the sky.
