With the championship match over, Ruby's Pokémon were taken to a Pokémon Center to heal their injuries and be prepared to enter the Hall of Fame later that night. Ruby and Sylveon went straight to their hotel room, not wanting to be bombarded by all the interviewers. She just wanted to be alone and rest up before taking part in the big ceremony tonight. Ruby laid on her bed and looked up at the ceiling, opening and closing her eyes just in case this all turned out to be some kind of elaborate dream.

"This is really happening," said Ruby. "I've become the Pokémon League Champion. My Pokémon and I are going into the Hall of Fame. It just feels so surreal, doesn't it, Eevee?"

"Sylveon!" said Sylveon, jumping onto Ruby and pointing out Ruby's mistake.

"Oops! I meant Sylveon! You know, I'm not sure I'm going to get used to calling you Sylveon."

Ruby and Sylveon laughed at they laid on the bed and looked up at the ceiling together.

"It's hard to believe how this whole thing started. Back then, you were so scared to fight even lesser Pokémon like Pidgey. Then again, I wasn't exactly being a good trainer to you. Now look at us: We're going into the Hall of Fame together!"

"Sylveon," replied Sylveon. It also amazed Sylveon how so much had changed since they started. When Sylveon lost to Deino as an Eevee, she felt she couldn't trust Ruby with her safety. Now the two worked together so well that it was like they were a completely different team.

"You know, Eevee...darn it! You know, SYLVEON, you really didn't have to evolve just for me. I hope you did it because you genuinely wanted to, and not just so I can obtain this title."

"Sylveon!" said Sylveon, standing up and nodding to Ruby. Ruby grabbed Sylveon and pulled her in for a hug.

"Thank you, Sylveon. To see you evolve to help me win the championship...it really means a lot to me."

Ruby looked into Sylveon's eyes and smiled.

"I guess I'm a worthy trainer after all, huh?"

"Sylveon!" happily replied Sylveon.

Ruby and Sylveon's time to relax was cut short when there was suddenly a frantic knock on Ruby's door. Ruby sighed and sat up, figuring it was the press trying to get an interview with her.

"Who is it?" asked Ruby.

"Ruby, it's your dad!" said Taiyang. "I need to tell you something urgent!"

Ruby got up and unlocked the door for her father to come in. Ruby saw the worried look on her father's face and feared something terrible happened.

"What's going on, dad?"

"I ran out of invitations for the party!" said Tai. Ruby was so concentrated on her match with Weiss that she forgot that her father was planning a huge party on Patch Island to celebrate her success.

"Are you serious? How many invitations did you make?"

"I made a hundred of both versions, but I'm all out!"

"You're seriously inviting a hundred people to come to our house?

"Well...the thing is I made quick edits to the entry one and used those as well, so..."

"Wait! So, between both invitations and everyone in Signal Town...we're going to have three hundred people at this party?"

"...do you think that's enough?"

Ruby buried her head in her hands and groaned, feeling like her brain was about to shut down. She appreciated her father throwing a party in her honor, but it was clear her father was getting seriously in over his head.

Initially upset about losing the championship match, Weiss' mood greatly improved after hearing so many people cheer for her and earning their respect. As she was trying to go back to the locker room, she was stopped by several interviewers who wanted to talk.

"Weiss, a lot of people agree you put up an amazing fight, especially when you had the courage to face Mewtwo! How do you feel that the championship wound up slipping through your fingers?"

"I am still a bit upset that I didn't come out as Champion," said Weiss. "It would have been a great moment to win and continue my family legacy, but today was simply not the day. Mark my words: I will get that title eventually."

"And what do you have to say about your opponent, especially regarding her use of Mewtwo?"

"You want to know what I think about Ruby?"

Weiss took a deep breath and decided to share how she felt about Ruby.

"Ruby is an excellent trainer. She has a connection with her Pokémon that you can never learn from a textbook or watching matches. She defeated me fair and square, and I'm honored to have her as a rival."

Weiss ignored the rest of the questions and went back to her locker room where her sister was waiting.

"Hello Weiss," said Winter. "Are you feeling okay?"

"All things considered...I guess so," said Weiss. "But I have a feeling I won't be once father shows up to lecture me."

"Whatever father may say, I think you should be proud of yourself. Personally, I would never have let Mewtwo be allowed to fight."

"I don't see why not. A Pokémon is a Pokémon. I can't call myself the greatest if I can't beat the strongest, regardless of who or what they are."

"That monstrosity was the only reason she won. Quite frankly, I don't think she's deserving of being the champion."

"People have been saying our family was never deserving of that title either. Whether or not Ruby is deserving doesn't matter. She earned her championship, and I'm going to train harder to make sure I'm the one to take it away."

Winter wondered if Weiss was really okay with losing the battle, or trying to put on a strong face so she didn't cry before their father arrived. Before Winter can ask Weiss the truth, their father knocked on the locker room wall to let them know he had arrived. Weiss swallowed some air as the two daughters walked up to their father.

"Hello, my daughter," greeted Jacques.

"Hello, father," said Weiss. "I assume you want to discuss my failure to have won the match?"

"Indeed. I'll cut straight to the chase. As a former professional trainer, I was very disappointed with your performance. I can point out at least three mistakes you've made that you could have prevented in the first place. Quite frankly, I'm almost surprised you lasted as long as you did. As your father..."

As Jacques cleared his throat, Weiss waited for her lashing about ruining his championship legacy and making the Schnee family look bad.

"I couldn't be prouder of the way you handled that fight."

Weiss and Winter were surprised. Did they hear their father actually compliment Weiss?

"You...really mean that?" asked Weiss.

"I do. Even though you lacked the skills to become Champion today, I'm still proud of the way you fought."

"But what about how 'A Schnee Never Loses' and letting down the family name?"

"You may have lost the match, but today you've accomplished what even I haven't been able to do; you brought respect back to the Schnee family name. Well done, Weiss. I'd expect nothing less."

Jacques gave Weiss a formal, brief handshake. It wasn't quite the congratulations Ruby got from her family, but knowing her father, Weiss took it as a serious compliment.

"I have to return to Atlas for business," said Jacques. "Will you be coming with us?"

"I'm afraid I have something previously planned to attend to," said Weiss.

"Very well. We will see you again when you come home."

After Winter and Jacques left, Weiss reached into her pocket and pulled out the party invitation she received from Taiyang; Taiyang was insistent that she have one. She only took one to be nice at first, but decided that perhaps attending the party wouldn't be such a bad idea.

As Winter and Jacques were leaving the stadium, Winter wanted to find out why Jacques was suddenly so nice to Weiss and seemingly let her off the hook.

"That was very out of character of you, father," remarked Winter. "You're seriously not mad about Weiss losing?"

"Why would I be?" said Jacques. "Yes, she may have lost the match due to some amateur mistakes, but quite frankly, I blame her loss on the officials. They should never have allowed Mewtwo to battle in the first place. Clearly the fault lies in the PLO's lax standards of enforcing their own rules."

Winter didn't believe Jacques' excuse. It wasn't like him to dismiss one of his children failing with a simple "you did your best" speech and moving on, nor would he ever accept Weiss blaming the PLO if Weiss had used that reason for her loss, even if Winter agreed about Mewtwo.

Then it suddenly dawned on Winter. Unbeknownst to the world at large, Jacques had a special connection to Mewtwo, and it had to explain why he was so dismissive of Weiss' loss.

"Wait a minute!" said Winter, stepping in front of Jacques and stopping him. "I know what this is really about!"

"Whatever do you mean, Winter?" asked Jacques.

"Mewtwo; they were created because of you. If you never helped create Mewtwo in the first place, then Weiss wouldn't have had to fight them. Weiss could have become the new champion if not for your actions and you know it!"

Winter could hear Jacques angrily humming. Winter clearly saw through her father's deception. Jacques realized that he was really the one to blame for Weiss failing to win the championship, but he would never truly admit that to anyone, especially to Weiss herself.

"Winter, does Weiss know the truth about Mountain Glenn?" asked Jacques.

"She doesn't," said Winter.

"Do me a favor and make sure she never does."

Jacques didn't say another word as they left the city to return home to Atlas.

That night, Gyarados Stadium was packed to capacity once again, this time with a big stage set up to honor Vale's newest Champion and induct her winning team into Vale's Hall of Fame. The PLO and Elite Four were on stage along with Ruby and Sylveon. Goodwitch and Ruby took center stage as Goodwitch presided over the ceremony.

"Ruby Rose, congratulations on successfully defeating the Elite Four and winning the tournament to become the new Vale Regional Champion. On behalf of the Vale Pokémon League, I present you with the trophy in commemoration of your championship victory, and officially award you the title of Vale Pokémon League Champion!"

The Elite Four walked up to Ruby with a giant trophy, consisting of four pillars holding up another pillar with a golden version of the Vale league's official logo on top. Ruby shook hands with each member of the Elite Four as they all congratulated Ruby.

"As is tradition, for becoming a Pokémon League Champion, we will now induct your winning team into the Hall of Fame. Please call out the names of your Pokémon one by one."

Everyone else moved away to make room for Ruby's Hall of Fame Pokémon.

"Here goes!" said Ruby. "Hitmonchan!"

Ruby's boxing Pokémon raised his fists high and stood in the left most side of the stage.

"Scizor!"

Ruby's metallic mantis stood next to Hitmonchan and opened his claws wide.

"Electivire!"

Ruby's electric powerhouse stood on the right most side of the stage and flexed his muscles.

"Zoroark!"

Zoroark thrust her claws to show off her speed as she stood beside Electivire.

"Mewtwo!"

Mewtwo simply stood in the middle with their arms crossed. They looked down on the ground as if they did not want to be there.

"And of course, Sylveon!"

Sylveon jumped from Ruby's side and stood in the middle of the pack alongside her allies. Ruby then stood in front of her winning team as the photographers already started snapping pictures of her team.

"Ruby Rose!" said Goodwitch. "Welcome to the Hall of Fame!"

The audience cheered as Ruby held her trophy high. As Ruby was posing with her Hall of Fame team, Ruby's Pokémon were talking about how amazing it was to be champions.

"[We really did it, Sylveon!]" said Hitmonchan. "[We proved that abandoned Pokémon are strong enough to become champions!]"

"[To think that I used to be a Pokémon no one loved,]" said Zoroark. "[Now I'm here as a champion!]"

"[We are all strong because we have a strong master!]" said Electivire.

"[Indeed,]" said Scizor. "[Ruby has truly brought out the best in all of us.]"

Sylveon was happy to have won it for Ruby, her team, and for any trainer with a "weak" Pokémon. As she looked around with her fellow teammates, she noticed Mewtwo standing there scowling. The other teammates took notice as well and were wondering if they should bother saying anything.

"[What's wrong, Mewtwo?]" asked Sylveon.

"Just a short while ago," said Mewtwo, "these people saw me as a threat and demanded that I be banned. Now here they are giving me adoration and applause for my abilities. It just makes me..."

To the surprise of Sylveon and the others, a smile started to form on Mewtwo's face as they slightly chuckled.

"I feel like I want to laugh it off and smile."

Ruby's other Pokémon soon laughed and smiled along with Mewtwo. Mewtwo lifted his face up and looked over to Ruby posing with her trophy.

"So, this is what true happiness feels like; and I have Master Ruby to thank for this."

While Ruby was posing for the cameras, she suddenly felt a Psychic force grab a hold of her. Mewtwo used their Psychic power to lift Ruby and her trophy off the ground, then placed her around their shoulders. Ruby looked down and saw Mewtwo looking right back at her and smiling. Ruby smiled back, feeling she was on top of the world sitting on Mewtwo's shoulders.

"Okay everyone!" said Ruby. "Look at the camera and shout TEAM RUBY!"

Ruby lifted her trophy high as her Pokémon all struck a pose for their official Hall of Fame portrait.

The next day, Ruby and about three hundred other people all gathered in an open field near Signal Town on Patch Island for the official celebration party. Despite the large crowd of people Taiyang wound up inviting, everything was going off without a hitch as everyone along with their Pokémon were having a great time.

Jaune was having a good time until Coco reminded him that he'd been slacking on his training due to all the time they took off to enjoy the championship tournament and suddenly found himself in Coco's Ranger Boot Camp.

"Are all these push-ups necessary?" asked Jaune, feeling like his arms were about to snap off.

"A Pokémon Ranger needs to be in the best of shape!" said Coco, sitting on top of Jaune's back. "Isn't that right, girls?"

"She's not wrong, Jaune!" said Yang, who was easily doing push-ups with Pyrrha sitting on her back. Jaune tried to lift himself up but couldn't find the strength to do it.

"Don't give up now, rookie!"

"But I just can't do it!" moaned Jaune.

"Maybe we should switch partners," said Pyrrha.

"I could use a break myself," said Yang.

"Okay then," said Coco. "Pyrrha, you make sure Jaune gets into shape. Yang and I will be treating ourselves to refreshments."

"Don't I at least get something?" asked Jaune.

"Sure...right after you finish one hundred push-ups, rookie!"

Jaune groaned, thinking he was never going to be able to complete Coco's harsh training. Coco and Yang headed to where the food was located as Pyrrha took Coco's place on Jaune's back. With the other two Rangers out of sight, Pyrrha placed her feet on the ground and slightly lifted herself above Jaune so she wasn't putting her full weight on Jaune's back. That's when Jaune realized Pyrrha was helping him cheat.

"I think this should make things a bit easier, wouldn't you say?" said Pyrrha.

"Thanks, Pyrrha!" said Jaune, suddenly finding the strength to get back up and finish his routine.

While Jaune was completing his boot camp training, his Snorlax was taking his usual nap in the middle of the field. The Achievement Trainers and some guests gathered around Jaune's Snorlax for a special event.

"What are we doing, Jack?" yelled Geoff.

"Well, Geoff!" yelled Jack. "This is the Achievement Trainer's Things to Do with Pokémon: The Snorlax Challenge!"

"And what is The Snorlax Challenge?"

"Snorlax is famously known to be one of the heaviest Pokémon around, weighing in at over 1000 pounds! Because of this massive weight, even the strongest of Pokémon have a hard time deadlifting such a big monster. So, we and some guests have got our Pokémon out and we're going to see who can lift the half ton giant!"

"The only rule is you must use your pure body strength! No using telekinesis or weird stat altering moves on Snorlax!"

Geoff's Nidoking and Jack's Nidoqueen each took a turn trying to lift Snorlax. Both got their hands underneath Snorlax, but didn't have the natural upper body strength to pick up Snorlax. Ryan's Emboar took a shot at it but made no progress either.

"Well we definitely can't do it," said Geoff. "Anyone here think they have what it takes?"

"VIRE!" said Ruby's Electivire, cracking his knuckles and ready to prove his strength. Despite his physical prowess, Electivire barely lifted Snorlax an inch off the ground before giving up.

"My Tyranitar should definitely be strong enough," said Yatsuhashi, calling out his powerful Rock dinosaur. While Tyranitar was strong, he couldn't find a way to lift Snorlax up either.

Several other trainers tried to use their strongest Pokémon, but nobody seemed to have a Pokémon strong enough to deadlift Snorlax. Snorlax continued to sleep and occasionally scratch his stomach, not feeling a single thing happening to him.

"Looks like nobody here can pass this test of strength!" said Jack.

"Excuse me! I'd like to try!"

The AT Crew turned their attention to a young farmer boy answering the call.

"And who might you be?" asked Geoff.

"I'm Oscar," said Oscar. "I want to try the Snorlax Challenge!"

"And who do you plan to use?"

"My Clefairy!" From behind Oscar popped out his most trusted companion, the little moon Fairy, Clefairy.

"Seriously? You think that little thing can lift Snorlax?"

"If I'm lucky!" replied Oscar.

"That goes without saying, but if you want to try, we won't stop you."

The AT Crew stood back to see Oscar and Clefairy attempt the Snorlax Challenge, expecting to see Clefairy fail. Clefairy raised her arms up to the sky and waved them back and forth.

"I don't think stretching is going to help you, kid."

Once Clefairy completed her ritual, she placed her arms underneath Snorlax. To the surprise of everyone watching, Clefairy was somehow able to pick up Snorlax and hold him over her small body.

"Clefairy!" shouted Clefairy, keeping Snorlax lifted until she dropped him back down on the ground, causing the ground to vibrate from the drop.

"How in the world did a Clefairy do that?" yelled Geoff.

"I think it used Metronome to use a move like Strength that made it powerful enough to do it," said Ryan.

"Well, technically he didn't cheat," said Jack, "so I think Oscar is our winner!"

"Good job, Clefairy!" said Oscar.

"Clefairy!" said Clefairy, smiling and jumping into Oscar's arms.

The AT Crew weren't the only ones holding their own events. Scarlet David, famously known as Vale's Contest Master, decided to hold some impromptu contests on the island. He was currently judging a Beauty contest between Weiss' Froslass, Velvet's Lilligant, Ray's Roserade, and Ruby's Abomasnow.

"After careful deliberation, I've made my decision!" said Scarlet. "The winner of the Scarlet Beauty Invitational is...Froslass!"

"Yes!" said Weiss, taking a bow as Scarlet handed her an honorary Beauty Ribbon. "Was there any doubt? I raise my Pokémon to be both strong AND beautiful!"

"Congratulations, Weiss," said Velvet.

"Of course he picks the ice queen," complained Ray. "This was rigged."

"BAAAH!" yelled Abomasnow, unhappy with being shafted the victory.

"Now now!" said Scarlet. "There's no need for such childish behavior! Quite frankly, I found your moves and posture to be too brutish."

"BAH?"

"It means you came off looking like a wild man who has no business in a Beauty contest. I can give you some lessons on how to portray true Beauty if you wish."

"BAH!" shouted Abomasnow, not taking kindly to Scarlet's criticisms and suddenly unleashing a Blizzard on Scarlet before walking off, leaving Scarlet frozen in ice. Weiss and Ray had already left, leaving Velvet to call out another one of her Pokémon to help unfreeze Scarlet.

Aside from the activities the guests had going on, there was plenty of food to be had as well. One row of tables near the center stage was entirely dedicated to all the various foods and drinks everyone graciously donated to the party. Ruby's Zoroark was over by the dessert table; having been used to eating human food most of her life, Zoroark had developed a taste for sweets. Zoroark transformed into her Neo disguise and picked at the various cookies and cakes laid out. As she was going down the line to try out as many sweets as she could, somebody wearing a hoodie covering their face bumped into her by mistake.

"Excuse me," said the man in the hoodie, walking around Zoroark.

Zoroark suddenly stopped when she heard the hooded man talk. She swore the voice belonged to someone she was quite familiar with. She tapped the man on the shoulder to get his attention.

"Did you need something?" said the man, turning to face Zoroark. Zoroark was shocked to see it was the man who used to be her trainer for so many years before being abandoned.

"Oh...it's you," said Torchwick.

Zoroark put down her food and gave Torchwick a stern look, ready to kick Torchwick out of the party before he caused a problem.

"Easy there, Zoey! I'm not here to cause trouble, unless you think taking advantage of free food is cause for commotion."

Zoroark didn't fully trust Torchwick, but she didn't want to ruin Ruby's party by causing a scene, so since Torchwick wasn't doing anything wrong, she decided to hold back for now.

"In case you've been wondering what I've been doing since New Vale City, I've been kind of taking a break from crime. Everyone was so obsessed with talking about the Pokémon League that I wound up watching the whole thing myself. I got to see you compete in the championship match. It probably means nothing hearing it from me, but I think you did great out there, Zoey."

Zoroark tried to look like she didn't care what Torchwick had to say, but hearing Torchwick praise her performance caused her to almost blush.

"So, I assume life for you is going pretty good. You have a trainer who treats you well, and you made it into the Hall of Fame. To think it's all because I kicked you to the curb over a lousy mission."

Torchwick smiled and patted Zoroark on the shoulder.

"I'm happy for you, Zoey. You certainly deserve it."

Having Ruby as her new master, Zoroark had long since moved on from having anything to do with Torchwick, but seeing him smile like that reminded Zoroark of the old days between the two. Perhaps Torchwick had really reverted to the good-hearted thief he used to be.

Torchwick turned back to see what other food he could pilfer when he felt a hand grab his shoulder.

"Look, I said I wasn't going to cause trouble!"

Torchwick turned around to see why Zoroark was trying to start something with him when he noticed Zoroark holding a cupcake for him to take.

"Oh. Thank you, Zoey."

Torchwick looked to his side and noticed Ruby looking around the party. Torchwick quickly hid himself from sight, not wanting to be caught until at least he got his free lunch.

Ruby was walking around and seeing all the familiar faces that had arrived at her party, including all the gym leaders she defeated on her way to obtaining the championship. Unfortunately, two of the gym leaders she had met weren't able to make it: The closely-knit couple Nora and Ren. After coming to Ziwei City to watch the championship match, they returned to Gren Isle so Ren can continue working in his village, but they promised to give Ruby a video call to wish her congratulations. Ruby's scroll rang and sure enough, it was the happy couple keeping their word.

"Hey guys!" said Ruby. "I'm glad you called!"

"Hey, Ruby!" said Nora. "Sorry we couldn't make it to your big party, but Ren and I have been busy making several improvements to our village!"

"Everyone has been pitching in," said Ren. "Things are looking better for all of us."

"I'm glad to hear that!" said Ruby.

"I really wish we could be there!" said Nora. "I bet you guys have a buffet that makes the catering in my gym look like a joke!"

"It would have been nice to catch up on everything going on," said Ren. "I can't believe you had Mewtwo on your side."

"Seriously! How did you catch them, Ruby? Did you use some kind of reverse psychology? Beat them until they begged for mercy?"

"It's a long story," said Ruby. "One day I'll have to drop by and tell you guys about it."

"We're looking forward to it!"

"I hate to make this short," said Ren, "but we have to get back to work."

"Of course," said Ruby. "Thanks for calling you guys."

"Before we go, there's one other thing we wanted to show you."

Nora and Ren moved aside to show all the village children gathered behind them holding up banners and signs congratulating Ruby on her victory.

"CONGRATULATIONS, RUBY!" shouted all the children in the village.

"Wow!" said Ruby. "Thank you so much, everyone! I'll be sure to see you soon!"

Ruby hung up and continued walking around the party to see all the activities going on while her Pokémon were running around and playing. As she kept track of what each of her Pokémon were doing, there was one Pokémon in particular she couldn't find.

"Where did Mewtwo go?" thought Ruby. "I hope they didn't suddenly leave."

Although Mewtwo was seemingly coming around to ridding all the evil in their heart, Ruby was hoping Mewtwo would use this party as an opportunity to reach out to other people and overcome their general anxiety and distrust of humans who weren't Ruby. As Ruby searched for Mewtwo, she came across Blake sitting by a tree and reading a book. Blake didn't care much for parties, but came anyway to give Ruby her well wishes and take a very rare day off for herself.

"Hey Blake," said Ruby. "You wouldn't happen to know where Mewtwo is, do you?"

"They're sitting on the other side," said Blake.

Ruby went around the tree and saw Mewtwo sitting on the opposite side meditating quietly. Sensing their master nearby, Mewtwo opened their eyes and looked up to Ruby.

"Did you need me, Master Ruby?" asked Mewtwo.

"Are you okay, Mewtwo?" asked Ruby.

"Yes I am, Master Ruby. Why do you ask?"

"It seems like you're not enjoying yourself like the others."

"I am simply meditating, Master Ruby. I find it puts my mind at ease."

"Well...I was hoping you did a little more than that at this party."

"My apologies, Master Ruby. To be honest, I'm still uncertain if people are willing to look past my former nature. Not everyone will be as kind as you and Weiss have been."

"I'm sorry, what?" said Ruby. "Did you say as kind as Weiss?"

"Now this I have to hear," said Blake, closing her book and turning to face Mewtwo.

"Indeed I did, Master Ruby," said Mewtwo. "When Goodwitch wanted me apprehended and threatened your chances of winning the championship, it was Weiss who insisted I remained in battle. As much as I disliked her arrogance and ultimately having lost to her, it was her accepting me as simply another Pokémon that helped some people change their perspective of me. In a way, it was similar to how you forgave me for everything I've done, Master Ruby."

"Huh," said Ruby. The way Mewtwo put it, Weiss did Mewtwo a huge favor taking up their challenge even if she didn't mean it at the time. "I never thought of it like that. I guess I should go thank Weiss for that. However, I still want to see you at least mingle with other people here."

"I will give it my best shot, Master Ruby."

"Also, that's another thing you need to stop doing. You don't have to call me 'Master' every time. Just call me Ruby, okay?"

Mewtwo chuckled. "Very well...Ruby."

While Ruby was talking to Mewtwo on their social interactions, Michael and Gavin of the AT Crew had taken a large cupcake and were slowly approaching the two. Knowing Mewtwo was going to be at this party, they thought it would be funny to try and pull a prank involving them. Behind the two of them was Jeremy, a recent addition to their crew they dragged along as part of the prank.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" said Jeremy. "That thing nearly destroyed a city!"

"You want to prove your worth to the crew?" said Gavin. "Prove you're not scared of anything and nail Mewtwo with this cupcake."

"And what will ticking that thing off prove, exactly?"

"It will prove you're not a coward!" said Michael. "Now are you going to do it or not?"

Jeremy said a silent prayer and took aim at Mewtwo, who didn't seem to notice the AT Crew sneak up on them. Jeremy launched the cupcake as hard as he could towards Mewtwo. Sensing the projectile coming miles away, Mewtwo used their Psychic powers to stop the cupcake from splattering all over their face. They then launched it back at lightning fast speed and nailed Gavin in the face.

"OW!" cried Gavin. "The cherry got in my eye!"

"BWA HA HA HA!" laughed Jeremy. "That was worth it!"

"Were you goofs really trying to hit Mewtwo?" asked Ruby, annoyed that they tried to pull a prank.

"Did you think you can hit me, the world's most powerful Pokémon?" asked Mewtwo. "You fools are no match for my Psychic powers!"

"You're just lucky Gavin gave us away!" said Michael. "I bet I could have hit you no problem!"

"Then let us make a game of it!" said Mewtwo, standing up. "Whoever can hit me with a dessert of any kind gets a free shot at Ruby's championship!"

"Hey!" shouted Ruby. "Don't get me involved in this!"

"Deal!" said Michael. The AT Crew ran over to the dessert table to grab every treat they could.

"You better not get hit, Mewtwo!" warned Ruby, not wanting to have to defend her title over a stupid bet.

"Do not worry, Ruby!" said Mewtwo. "They don't stand a chance against me, and even if they were lucky enough to hit me, I have no doubt you can defend your title successfully!"

The trio soon came back and initiated the food fight against Mewtwo. Mewtwo easily blocked the incoming food with their Psychic power, and used their speed to teleport away from the ones they didn't block, making it seemingly impossible to hit them. Word started to spread about what Mewtwo had declared, and some people decided to attempt hitting Mewtwo as well in case they were serious about getting a free shot at Ruby's championship, but nobody was even close to nailing Mewtwo with a treat.

Despite parts of the field now looking like a battlefield strewn with desserts thrown around, the party was going smoothly. After going through such an adventure to obtain her championship title, Ruby was happy to have a day off just to have fun and not worry about who she needed to defeat or try and save the world from evil syndicates.

On the center stage, Taiyang brought out a speaker and microphone to make an announcement.

"All right everyone, I hope all of you are having fun!" announced Taiyang. "Before you go back to partying, I want to take a few moments to bring up the guest of honor for this occasion! My baby girl and champion of the Vale region! Come on up, Ruby!"

"Wait, what?" said Ruby. She didn't plan on making any big speeches, but now with everyone's attention on her, she felt obligated to. Ruby went up on stage with Sylveon by her side, looking at the sea of people and Pokémon all looking at her. Somehow, speaking in front of a crowd was much different than having to fight another trainer in one.

"Um...I really don't know what to say. I...don't really...speak in front of..."

Ruby fidgeted with her mike trying to come up with something to say. Seeing her little sister in trouble, Yang quickly ran up to give Ruby some advice.

"Just imagine you're speaking to mom," whispered Yang.

Ruby took a deep breath and imagined herself in front of her mother's grave, where she always felt at ease to speak up.

"I can't believe this day is really happening, where I get to see everyone who helped make my dream come true. I've always wanted it to happen, but there were so many times on this journey that I thought this was going to be nothing but a dream, but here we are. This is real, and I have so many people to thank that I feel like we could be here forever if I listed them, so I'm going to try and be as concise as possible. First, I want to thank my family who always had my back and encouraged me to be the best trainer in the world! Especially you, Yang; I don't know what I'd do without you!"

Ruby gave her sister a big hug at everyone awed and clapped for Ruby.

"Second, I of course have to thank the Pokémon who fought by my side! I may only have six Pokémon officially in the Hall of Fame, but I couldn't do it without all of them! So, I want to thank not just my winning team, but all the Pokémon I traveled with in my journey! However many battles you've won or badges you've helped me earned, all of you are a big part of Team Ruby!"

"Sylveon!" cheered Sylveon, along with all of Ruby's Pokémon standing amongst the crowd.

"I want to thank all the friends I made who stuck by my side, all the gym leaders I fought who helped make my team strong enough to compete in the Pokémon League, and believe it or not, the person I truly want to thank...is Weiss!"

Ruby found Weiss in the crowd and motioned for her to come up on stage. Surprised by Ruby thanking her, Weiss quickly walked to the stage to stand by her rival.

"My friends and family always supported me, but you were the one who really pushed me to get stronger. You set the bar that I needed to overcome to win the championship, and knowing how strong you are, you'll be the one who makes sure I don't slack off and continue improving myself so I can successfully defend my title. So, here's to you, Weiss! The best rival a trainer can ask for!"

The crowd clapped and cheered for Weiss. Figuring since she was on stage, Weiss took the mike from Ruby and decided to say a few words herself.

"I never thought I would be saying this," said Weiss, "but...thank you, Ruby! Enjoy your time as Champion, because I will get that rematch sooner than you think and win! After all, the Schnee family motto is: A Schnee Never Loses...Twice in a Row!"

Weiss and Ruby shook hands, both looking forward to their eventual rematch.

With everyone clapping for Ruby and Weiss, nobody noticed the hooded figure sneaking to where the desserts were laid out, grabbing a pie, and hurling it at Mewtwo. Mewtwo was too busy admiring Ruby's speech to sense the pie coming, and suddenly found themselves struck in the back of the head by the dessert. All the attendees gasped when they realized what happened. Hearing the applause suddenly halt, Ruby looked out and saw Mewtwo was blindsided.

"Hey!" yelled Ruby. "Who did that?"

The man in the hoodie chuckled to himself as he walked over and stood in front of the stage.

"We finally meet again...Little Red!"

The man threw off his hoodie to reveal himself as the master of crime, Roman Torchwick.

"It's Roman Torchwick!" said Jaune. "We should arrest him!"

"But I didn't do anything illegal, scrawny blonde!" replied Torchwick.

"He has a point, rookie," said Coco.

"You're still a wanted man!" said Jaune.

"What do you think, boss?" asked Pyrrha.

"Technically, Jaune is right," said Qrow. "Unless Ruby has something to say. It's her party after all."

"Well...," said Ruby, "you did help me in New Vale City, so I guess you can stay if you explain what you're even doing here!"

"I simply wanted to have fun!" said Torchwick. "I heard you were throwing a little party for your championship victory, and I didn't get an invite? That was quite rude of you, Little Red! So, I decided to sneak my way in! The only thing I planned to steal was the free food, but then your Psychic friend here decided to put your title up for grabs if they got hit with a dessert, which I successfully did! Now I'm here to steal away your championship and finally get my revenge!"

"I apologize, Ruby," said Mewtwo. "I did say the one to hit me would be rewarded a championship match."

"So, what do you say? Are you brave enough to put your title on the line against your REAL arch-nemesis?"

The crowd turned to Ruby to see if she was really going to accept Torchwick's challenge. Ruby smiled and pointed to Torchwick with great enthusiasm.

"A deal is a deal!" said Ruby. "You're on, Torchwick!"

The crowd got excited by Ruby's proclamation and quickly dispersed to give the two room for their battle. Goodwitch on the other hand was feeling the complete opposite.

"Wait a second!" said Goodwitch. "This is not an officially sanctioned championship match!"

"Let them have their fun, Glynda," said Ozpin. "Frankly, I'm in the mood to watch a good battle."

"I agree!" said Port. "What good is a party without some entertainment?"

"I concur," said Oobleck. "We may even learn a bit more about their Pokémon."

Goodwitch sighed. It was a party after all, and she doubt anyone was taking this as a serious championship match anyway.

"Very well," said Goodwitch. "To be honest, I am a bit curious to see what this fellow is capable of."

Ruby's family and friends all stood by the sidelines, ready to cheer Ruby on against her opponent.

"My baby girl's first championship defense!" said Taiyang. "I have to get my camera!"

"Good luck, Ruby!" said Mewtwo. "Although I doubt you need any luck to defeat this fool."

"Who knows?" said Blake. "Torchwick might actually pull an upset."

"He better not!" yelled Weiss. "Don't you DARE lose this match like an amateur, Ruby! You are my rival and I expect you to fight at your best!"

With the crowd and trainers now in place, the trainers called out the Pokémon they would start the battle with.

"So, who are you going to use for this match?" asked Ruby.

"Why, my good old Krookodile of course!" said Torchwick, calling out his best partner in crime.

"And I will be using Sylveon!"

"Sylveon!" cheered Sylveon, jumping in front of Ruby ready to battle. Krookodile and Sylveon took their positions as the audience around them counted down for the match to begin.

"THREE!"

"Although not officially sanctioned," said Goodwitch, acting as an impromptu referee, "I still expect you two to abide by the rules!"

"TWO!"

"You have no idea what you're in for, Little Red!" said Torchwick. "I am the criminal mastermind, after all!"

"ONE!"

"I'm not the same trainer you've fought in the past!" said Ruby. "Get ready to lose all over again, Torchwick!"

"...GOOOOOO!"

As soon as the crowd cheered go, Krookodile and Sylveon charged into each other. Ruby's first championship battle was under way.

A/N: Well everyone, after over three years, this is The End. Thank you to Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth for RWBY, Satoshi Tajiri and Nintendo for Pokémon, and thank you for reading this long-ass crossover of two of my favorite anime/game franchises. I'm not sure if I'll do more Pokémon/RWBY crossover stuff, or RWBY fics in general, but if I do, I've got plenty of ideas in mind.

Keep Moving Forward.
