A.N- This was supposed to be like a 100 review and 50th chapter celebration, but my timing is terrible so it's just another chapter that I will enjoy writing. I'm trying not to sound too needy but please PLEASE leave a review! I'm am very appreciative of the people that do leave me reviews, and the more reviews I get the quicker this story will be updated! That is all from me...enjoy the chapter!

Scarlet landed in the worst possible place for her to land, a bar. Well, it probably wasn't the worst place, but as soon as she hit the cushioned bar seat she felt a chill go up her spine reminding her of her last visit. As she gained her surroundings she realized she probably (and gladly) wasn't on Spirit Nova, due to the fact that humans and other aliens were toasting together and enjoying oddly colored liquids.

She turned her head to see a man with his forehead stuck to the bar table, but still able to lift it shortly to fit hyper vodka into his mouth. Although she couldn't see his face, she quickly identified him as the same man that sent her to come to his assistance.

"Harkness?" She asked, leaning down so she could try to make out his face. When Jack realized there was someone close to him, he jumped back in his seat, giving Scarlet a stern look.

"Just leave me alone okay?" He took a swig of hyper vodka and then turned back around like Scarlet wasn't even there.

"Then why did you ask me to come here?" He didn't even look at her.

"I didn't"

"Fine," She said, noting the lack of grey hairs on his head, "You sent me from the future, you said that you needed me." He raised his head slightly and swiveled to face her.

"Look," He said like he was talking to a little girl. "Although it was very nice of me, I don't need a prostitute. Why don't you keep the money and run along." Scarlet's face turned bright red. Not out of embarrassment, but out of anger. She raised her hand quickly to give him the rightful slap in the face he deserved...but her hand stopped. She saw something in his eyes she had never seen before; depression. He had bags under his eyes and his skin was pale. She lowered her hand and frowned.

"What's wrong Jack?" As Jack was watching the woman, he noticed something in her eyes; Recollection. She definitely knew who he was and it wasn't from a single meeting or a phone call. She had empathy in her words, like she really cared what he had to say. No one had been there for him for a while, so the words fell right out of his mouth.

"I lost a friend, he died trying to save a bunch of children." He paused. "But he wasn't just a friend. He was handsome and kind and just downright fantastic. I loved him so much and he died in my arms." Before he could finish speaking, Scarlet was already on him, giving him the warmest hug he had ever gotten. It lasted for a little bit, their body heat combining. Scarlet even heard Jack sniffle a little bit but she wouldn't let go.

He loved the hug, even though it was very sudden and by a complete stranger. It was warm and cozy and who knew someone could put so much empathy into one hug. He didn't want it to stop. Eventually it did. It was broken up when a bartender tapped on Jack's shoulder and handed him a white slice of paper. Jack read the words on it and smiled.

"So Scarlet, can I buy you a drink?"

"I didn't tell you my name." She said, slightly worried. She quickly grabbed the paper from the Captain's strong grip. It read, Her name is Scarlet.

Scarlet quickly looked around the bar. The Doctor told her to lay low and now random people at bars knew her name? She was getting worried until she saw him. The tall man in the pinstripe suit and long coat looked at her, almost smirked, and then walked away.

Scarlet got nervous. She was only supposed to be a tiny detail in his tenth life and now he was messing the whole thing up. He couldn't remember her! She quickly got up from the bar stool and took off, following the skinny man into the back room and into his TARDIS.

"What are you doing!?" She said trying to catch her breath.

"I was saying goodbye-" He was interrupted by a couple of sparks shooting out of the console and a flash of white light. With the blink of a eye, the console had changed. It was no longer brown and dirty but grey and clean, like the Eleventh Doctor's. The Doctor jumped smiling. "Aha! I knew you were form a different part of my time stream! But who are you?" His smiled turned into a frown as he leaned over in pain. He got back up and coughed, letting out a little bit of golden dust that hit Scarlet in the face.

He was dying, just about to regenerate. He must have been saying goodbye to Jack when he saw her. Jack seemed to be the cause of a lot of her problems for some reason. But that didn't matter, he couldn't remember her. It would mess up their time streams. She knew what she had to do.

"I can't tell you, I'm sorry." She said, slowly walking up to him.

"I want to know where I'm going." He said weakly. She raised her hands up to his temples.

"Don't worry, it's going to be fantastic." She pushed down on his head, letting herself into his mind. She swam around it, finding everything that had to do with herself and erasing it. He had been thinking about her a lot, apparently, still trying to figure out who she was when he was to never see her again. He tried to fight back, using his regeneration energy to expel her. But he was too weak. She pushed the energy back inside of him and stored it for a little longer, because he had one last trip he had to make.

When she finished, she planted something in the back of his mind to remember to circle the couple's cruise in that book she read, just in case he hadn't already. At completion, she guided him to the jump seat and neatly sat him down. She grabbed the TARDIS controls and drove him exactly where his mind wanted him to go, January 1st, 2005.

"Say hi to Rose for me," She whispered as she found the coordinates she last used and pushed the bright yellow button. As she vanished, the TARDIS changed back to its messy brown interior.

Back at the bar, Scarlet plopped down right next to the immortal man, feeling suddenly tired.

"I would really like that drink right about now."

I really liked this chapter by the way, sorry if it's on the short side. It was supposed to be more about Jack but it kind of went the other way. If you guys want another Jack chapter than let me know, and don't forget to review!
