"How you feeling?" Nick wandered into the front room to see Zoe sprawled across the sofa. It was now 3 in the afternoon and she had barely been up an hour, the effects of last night catching up on her considerably.
"I'm fine" She mumbled, opening her eyes as she watched him walk in from where she lay, turning to look in the Moses basket set beside her where Mia slept. "Beth's on her way round" She whispered, conscious of her sleeping daughter.
"Why?" Nick frowned, lifting her feet from the bottom of end of the sofa, sitting down in the seat before allowing her to rest them back across his lap.
"She didn't really say, she just needs to talk I think" Zoe replied "doesn't sound like Scott's coming though" She added, resting her head back down onto the sofa as she relaxed to the feel of Nick massaging her feet, "that feels so good" She sighed.
"You can't pay for timing like that" Nick chuckled, standing up to go and answer the door as the doorbell soon distracted them both from the moment.
"he's dumped me" Beth raged as she stormed into the room, "your twat of a brother has dumped me" She cried, pointing the finger at Nick who had followed her in.
"Shhh" Zoe tried to silence her putting a finger to her lips as she pointed over to Mia, "just calm down and talk to me" She instructed, sitting up to make room for Beth to sit down beside her.
"he didn't even give me a reason" Beth began to cry, tears now rolling down her face "and now I've got no where to live" She sobbed.
"Come here" Zoe gestured for her to come closer, pulling her into a tight hug, "you can stay here" She quickly suggested, her eyes looking over Beth's shoulder to see Nicks reaction, "can't she Nick?" She asked, searching for his confirmation.
"Erm, yeah course" Nick agreed, "only if you don't mind being woken at 3 every morning" He joked, trying to lighten the mood.
"I'm sure it's not that bad" Beth laughed, pulling away from Zoe's hug, "thank to both" She smiled, turning to look from Nick to Zoe "I reall do appreciate it"
"you're welcome" Zoe smiled "do you need to go and fetch your things?" She asked.
"I don't really want to see him" Beth sighed "but I suppose I'm going to need some clothes" She added.
"I'll go for you then" Zoe suggested, getting up off the sofa.
"Zo, you don't have to, I could always go" Nick quickly protested.
"It's fine really, anyway, I know what clothes she's going to like" She chuckled lightly, kissing Nick goodbye as she left to go to their house.
"She's a lucky girl" Beth smiled over at him as Nick took a seat on the end of the sofa beside her, "she got the best brother that's for sure" She laughed, watching as a smile began to appear on Nicks face.
"She ceratainly did" He smugly replied, laughing slightly.
Beth slowly edged forward towards him, her hand resting lightly on his thigh, squeezing gently as she watched him try to back away. "You shouldn't be doing that" He gasped, edging away from her slightly.
"Don't tell me you're not enjoying it" She continued to tease, her hand running up and down his inner thigh, "I've always fancied you" She grinned, leaning her body further towards his as she leant up to kiss him.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Nick snapped, pushing her back away from him, "I'm engaged to Zoe, your best friend" He shouted, jumping up off of the sofa.
