Jack had showed me the whole ship and slowly the crew came back. Completely drunk, of course. "Captain, which course, Sir?", Gibbs asked. Jack opened his compass. "La Martinique", he said. Smiled. "Aye, Captain!"
We set sails and left St. Dominique. I stood at the railing when suddenly Jack appeared beside me. "Where do you want to sleep?", he asked. "I don't care. I even can sleep on the floor." "If it's going to become uncomfortable... You know where my cabin is." "You would exchange your bed for the floor?" He just smiled and laughed quietly.
I stayed at the railing, watched the waves hitting against the planks of the ship. On deck it became silent. After a while I decided to go to Jack.
Guardedly I knocked at the door. "Aye?" I came in and closed the door behind me. "So it has brought you here, love?" "I just thought that you could miss me", I smiled. Jack sat at the table, with a bottle of rum, on the table was a sea chart. I stood beside Jack and leaned over the chart. "Why do you want to sail to Martinique?", I asked. "Well, why not. It's beautiful there, you'll see." "Did you again have done something stupid and need now to safe yourself?" "How do you figure?" "Wouldn't be new, Sparrow."
Suddenly my eyes fell on a marked point on the chart. Tia Dalma. "Jack... do you have any plans what you'll do after Martinique?" "Not really. I mean, yes, there could be something I'll need to clear up. But that doesn't matter." I sighed. He had a really big talent to get in trouble. And I wondered how he could drink so much rum without getting completely mad.
Jack laid down on his bed. "I don't bite, love." I just shook my head and sat down at the edge of the bed. "And let your fingers at yourself, Jack", I warned him.
