"No, don't touch that." Santana told Skylar as she set down a plate of cut up barbeque chicken and macaroni for her. "Muy caliente, very hot."
Skylar stared at the candle on the table and pulled her little hand back. "Hot."
"Si, very hot, do not touch it." Santana repeated as she turned to grab her own dinner.
The two were having a little candlelight dinner, which Santana was already regretting just moments after lighting the candle. Even though it was in the middle of the table, far out of the baby's reach from her high chair, Skylar tried her hardest to reach for the colorful flame that was changing color as it burned.
"Mami!"
"Yes." Santana called over her shoulder, as she smeared a little garlic butter on her steak. "Are you eating?"
"Caliente." Skylar told her.
Santana turned and smiled at the baby who was pointing at the candle. "Si, muy caliente, don't touch it."
"No touch." Skylar nodded staring at her bright yellow fork with a smile, gripping it tightly to attempt to use it before staring at Snoopy, who was at the candlelight dinner with them, wearing a bright red tie, a piece of lettuce and a carrot on the plate in front of him. "Snoop chicken." Skylar said quickly when Santana sat down next to her and broke apart her chicken a little more.
"He has his dinner." Santana smiled. "He doesn't like chicken, he likes lettuce, so mami made him special lettuce."
"Snoop." Skylar shook her head quickly. "Chicken."
Santana, who wasn't going to waste food on a stuffed animal shook her head. "He told me when I was cooking. He doesn't like chicken." She shrugged at her daughter, who was staring intently at her. "He likes lettuce, and wanted a carrot."
Skylar stared at Snoopy angrily before waving her fork around while babbling angrily while yelling at him, Santana able to make out the word chicken over and over while she ate her dinner and laughed slightly, eating a forkful of her side salad.
"Eat your chicken." Santana told her with a smile, helping her position her fork in her hand, the baby mumbling a thank you before stabbing her macaroni and managing it to get it in her mouth. Santana smiled at her and opened her mouth to say something when Skylar suddenly reached over and pushed Snoopy out of his chair.
"Chicken!"
"Hey, hey." Santana frowned, standing up and picking up the stuffed animal. "Be nice."
"Chicken!" Skylar mumbled glaring at Snoopy when Santana set him back in the chair and sat back down.
"No, you don't push Snoopy, he doesn't have to like chicken." Santana told her. "He's your friend, say sorry."
Skylar shook her head no quickly before stuffing more food in her mouth, Santana pulling some out quickly so she didn't choke. She sighed at her daughter and picked up her plate, moving to sit by Snoopy, kissing him on the nose. "So Snoopy, how about we watch a movie tonight?" Santana smiled, placing her arm around the stuffed animal, and whispering in his ear, laughing loudly after holding her ear to his mouth, pretending that he was replying to her. Skylar frowning and watching them closely as her big brown eyes filled with tears, her bottom lip quivering..
"Mami." She sniffled quickly.
Santana raised an eyebrow at her daughter. "Are you ready to apologize to Snoopy?"
"No." Skylar shook her head.
Santana shrugged and wrapped her arm around Snoopy, kissing him on the nose, as Skylar sniffled loudly and choked on a sob. "My Snoop."
Taking another bite of her steak she stared at her daughter, who was now rubbing her eyes while she cried. "Are you ready to apologize to Snoopy?" She asked.
Skylar nodded and leaned over, patting Snoopy on the paw. "Siento." She whispered.
Santana winked at her daughter and leaned over placing her ear by Snoopy's mouth and nodded. "Snoopy wants you to watch the movie with us, okay?" The baby sniffled again and nodded, reaching out for her mother. Santana picked her up and sat her on her lap, kissing her top of her head before grabbing her plate so they could eat together. "You have to be nicer, no hitting."
"No hit." Skylar mumbled.
"I love you."
"Wuv you."
Friday night
"You're so sleepy." Santana whispered to Skylar, who was cuddled her chest, playing with her bottom lip, her big brown eyes drooping before popping open every other moment. "We took a nice warm bath, we read to Snoopy tonight, you pointed out all your colors to him and everything, so now it's time to go to sleep."
Skylar stared up at her and sighed before wiggling to get comfortable and clutching to Santana's shirt. "Mami?"
"Yes, my Sky Sky." Santana responded, muting the tv and sitting up the baby, so she was facing her, Skylar leaning forward immediately and laying back on her chest. Santana rubbed her back and kissed the top of her head as she leaned her own head back, closing her eyes. Brittany was out of town for work, while Taylor went to a sleepover at Brynn's house, leaving Skylar and Santana home alone for the night.
After dropping Taylor off, Santana came home and made a pizza with Skylar, letting the baby sit on the counter and help her put the toppings off, which she really loved and excitedly clapped overtime Santana would bring out a new topping for her side of the pizza, knowing Skylar would only eat cheese pizza. They then played for a little bit before taking a nice warm bath together, Skylar trying her hardest to sing along to the nursery rhymes her mother sang to her, chiming in on certain words with a big smile.
Santana knew that the bath would settle Skylar down for the night, while she tried to catch up on work, but the moment she laid in bed with Skylar to watch a cartoon she realized how tired she was herself and decided to skip the paperwork. "Mami is going to go to sleep with you, okay?"
"Bed."
"Si, we'll sleep in mami's bed together." Santana smiled, turning out the lamp and sliding down so she was laying flat in her bed. "You can lay right here on mama's chest."
Skylar exhaled and closed her eyes as Santana massaged her little back, humming softly as her cell phone rang. She saw Brittany's name and answer right away with a big smile
Hey B!
Hey Santana, did I wake you?
Yes and no, I was settling Sky Sky down for the night.
How was she tonight?
Good, we had a run in with Snoopy at dinner yesterday, but she's been good today. Taylor is at another sleepover, so just me and baby girl tonight.
Fun! I miss you three so much.
You know we all miss you too, B. How's the campaign going?
Sealed the deal, another 6 figure client.
Cha ching for that commission Santana teased.
Oh yeah. Brittany laughed. Im so ready for vacation now. I know we'll be at Disney World and the trip is for the girls but I just need a day to lay out in the sun and just relax, no cares in the world, even for just an hour or two.
Yes, I feel the same way.
Well maybe one night when the girls are asleep we can slip out on the beach and share a bottle of champagne, a super quick date.
I would love that. Sounds really really good.
You sound like Skylar is giving you a run for your money
She definitely is.
I love you, sleep tight, I'll see you three tomorrow.
You're coming home early?
Yeah, we signed all the paperwork so I changed my flight from Sunday to tomorrow.
Sweet, good night, B. Love you babe
I love you too, kiss Sky Sky for me.
Santana laid on the coach, colorful bandaids all over her face, arms, and legs before cupping her hands over her mouth and yelling. "Paging Doctor Sky Sky!"
Skylar, who was dressed in her doctor costume came running in with a handful of bandaids and began to stick them to her mother, while patting her on the forehead. "Doc Sky." She nodded with a big smile. "Tay!" She then yelled.
Taylor, who was Skylar's nurse, came running in with their toy doctor kit and kneeled down next to her sister. "Here Doctor Sky." She smiled, handing her a tongue depressor.
Santana raised an eyebrow and sat up quickly so Skylar didn't try to slide it down her throat. "Lift her on the couch to do that, Tay." She told her softly. Taylor nodded and lifted Skylar to stand on the couch, the baby smiled at her mother when she opened her mouth and stuck the tongue depressor in quickly, Santana grabbing her hand immediately and just placing it on her tongue. "Don't choke mama." She exhaled.
Taylor laughed and stuck a few more bandaids on Santana's legs. "When is momma coming home?"
"Not soon enough." Santana teased. "Okay Doctor Sky, now what?"
Skylar mumbled something before picking up her toy scalpel and sliding it across Santana's wrist quickly.
"Okay, so you just killed mami." Santana laughed loudly before covering her mouth when Skylar frowned. "Lo siento, how about we call Buela and you can show her your new toys."
"Bua!" Skylar nodded.
"Tay, go get my laptop out of my office, carefully please." Santana smiled. "Remember to unplug it from the charger first this time, I don't want to have to buy another charger, sweetheart."
"Okay." Taylor nodded, skipping out of the room, Skylar staring at her before knocking on Santana's knees, the Latina lifting her leg every time causing the baby to smile.
2pm
Brittany handed her driver a tip and smiled as she grabbed the handle of her suitcase, throwing her laptop bag and purse over her shoulder, and reaching for the bouquet of flowers and the bag of gifts she brought back from her work trip for her daughters.
"I am so happy to be home, geez." She sighed, digging her keys out of her purse and opening the door. She laughed when she heard all the noise in the house; the puppies barking in the patio, Santana had music playing as she cooked, and Taylor was upstairs singing loudly along to the radio. She then heard Skylar laugh loudly as she ran into the living room, pulling a small blonde girl behind, who had big brown eyes.
"Sky Sky!" She called, causing the baby to drop her blocks and run right to her mother happily after jumping up and down, her little friend jumping with her.
"Momma!" She smiled, as Brittany dropped her bags and picked her up kissing all over her face as she flipped her over.
Skylar then wiggled to get down and ran back over to her friend and smiled while grabbing her hand and pulling her over to Brittany. "Tay!"
Brittany smiled and waved at the little girl, who was red in the face growing shy with a sweet smile. "That's not Tay." She laughed at Skylar. "Hi cutie." She waved at her again, the little girl waving back.
"Tay!" Skylar said angrily.
Brittany sighed as Santana walked in the living room, holding a little boy. "B! Thank God you're back." She laughed, kissing her wife immediately. "I see you met Tatum, and this is Donovan."
"Oh you were trying to say Tatum." Brittany asked Skylar.
Skylar nodded quickly and pressed her finger in Tatum's cheek. "Tay!" She smiled happily before pulling Tatum to the side and handing her blocks so they could play, Tatum smiling and kneeling down right away to play.
"Hi." Brittany waved at Donovan, who waved back right way before Santana set him down, and laughed when he quickly ran over to the girls to play.
"Skylar no." Santana said sternly when she saw her daughter reach for Donovan's bandaid. "Leave it alone."
"I doc." Skylar nodded.
"No, you aren't a doctor right now, don't take his bandaid off again." Santana repeated. "You're going to get pow pows."
Skylar glared at her mother and moved her hand quickly picking up a block instead, her little eyes in an intense eye lock with her mother's before caving and finally looking away.
Brittany laughed softly. "She's a doctor?"
Santana turned on a cartoon for the three kids and laughed when they all quickly turned to face the tv, their eyes lighting up in excitement. Rolling her eyes, Santana grabbed her wife's hand and led her to the kitchen, hugging her tightly and kissing her deeply before one of the babies made their way in, or Taylor came downstairs.
"Save me from Skylar, I need a date night, ASAP." Santana whined, resting her head on her wife's chest.
Brittany kissed the top of her head. "What is Doctor Sky doing?"
Santana stood up straight again before kissing Brittany on the lips once more and going back to cutting up fruit. "She keeps ripping Donovan's band aid off and poking his cut. I've cleaned it like 4 times already."
Brittany cringed. "That's nasty."
"Yes, yes it is." Santana rolled her eyes.
"So who are these kids?" She then asked, walking to the fridge and getting a Sprite out, opening the can and taking long sip right away.
"Tatum is her best friend, well the little girl she's nicest to at daycare. Her mom is a plastics surgeon, when I was picking Sky up a few days ago we got to talking and I set up a playdate, she's a single mom, and wanted to give her nanny a weekend off. She's out running some errands, so I told her to drop Tatum off for a few hours to play with Sky." Santana rattled off quickly. "Sky was really excited when she came over, she started running around to get toys to show her and share with her."
Brittany took another long dip of her soda and smiled. "That's so cute, she tried to introduce me right away."
"Donovan is another toddler who's mom is a doctor, she heard us talking and I invited him over, I saw him playing with Sky with some cars." Santana smiled. "He practically ran straight into my arms when he got here, he is just the cutest little boy around, those dimples are killing me."
Brittany laughed and opened her mouth to speak when Taylor came running in the kitchen and hugged her tightly. "Momma!"
"Taylor!" Brittany beamed happily, hugging her daughter. "I miss you soon much."
Taylor blushed and let her go, taking a step back. "Mami taught me to braid, look at my hair, so when I went to Brynn's house I braided her hair, and her dolls hair, and we braided her puppies ears. He has super big ears and they are really soft, then her dad took us skating, THEN..."
Santana glanced up and frowned. "Take a breath, Tay, you're turning red."
Taylor laughed and leaned into Brittany. "I just really missed, momma."
"I missed you too, why don't you help me unpack." Brittany suggested, winking at Santana, who she could tell was tired.
11pm
Brittany leaned her head back on Santana's shoulder and exhaled deeply as her eyes fluttered closed again. "This feels amazing, Santana. I'm so relaxed right now, baby."
Santana, who was sitting behind her in the tub, hugging her under the water, her fingers dancing on Brittany's stomach, kissing her on the cheek and leaned her head on her wife's. She exhaled softly and hugged Brittany tighter. "I can't believe how much I missed you." She whispered in her ear. "i hate being away from you." She added.
"I hate being away from you too." Brittany replied, resting her hands on her wife's. "That was my one long trip this quarter."
"Okay." Santana nodded, kissing Brittany's neck. "I'll give you a massage tonight before bed, I know you're probably so stiff from those hotel beds." She told her, moving her hands to her back and massaging there."
"You're tired, I can hear it in your voice and feel it in your touch. How about we just go get massages next week during lunch?" Brittany suggested, shifting so she was resting on the Latina's chest. "I'm exhausted and I know it's early on a Saturday and that Taylor will probably come get in bed with us but let's just try to get some sleep."
Santana pressed their lips together and nodded. "Sounds good."
After relaxing in the bath for another 20 minutes or so the two got out drying each other off slowly while they kissed and reconnected. After a long hug naked, they finally got into pajamas and slipped in bed. "Lay on your stomach, babe, let me give you at least a quick massage."
"You don't have to." Brittany smiled. "But if you truly insist." She beamed, laying down quickly.
Santana got out bed and grabbed some massage oil and sat carefully on the back of Brittany's thighs. "So, I have moved $10,000 to a new account I set up for us to use at Disney, so we don't go overboard with the girls." She stated, slowly rubbing the oil on Brittany's lower back.
Brittany nodded, turning her head to lay sideways on the pillow. "Is that enough, I want the girls to have the best experience possible."
"I think it's plenty, that's not including the price of the hotel. I want to make sure they go to the princess parties and Universal Studios, the whole works, and we'll have our credit cards as back up." Santana smiled, kissing the small of Brittany's back and pulling her shit down. "You weren't as tense as I thought you were, I think the bath really loosened you up."
"Told you." Brittany winked, rolling on her back and opening her arms.
Santana carefully laid on her and allowed Brittany to hug her tightly as the two kissed slow and soft. "I know you're tired from traveling so let's get some sleep."
"I love you." Brittany smiled.
"I love you too."
630 am
"Momma can you drive me to school today?" Taylor asked, sitting down at the table as Brittany set a plate of sausage, eggs, and hash browns in front of her.
"Tay!" Skylar smiled as Santana set her in her highchair and handed her a sausage right away.
"Morning, Sky Sky." Taylor smiled, leaning over and kissing her sister on the cheek, the baby immediately blushing.
Brittany handed Santana a cup of coffee and the morning paper silently, before pressing their lips together briefly. "You don't want to ride the bus?" She asked Taylor, sitting down at the table with a bowl of hash browns and starting to feed Skylar, who happily spend her mouth for each bite, blushing when Brittany kissed her full cheeks and winked at her.
"No."
Santana raised an eyebrow and looked over her mug but didn't say anything. "Why not?" Brittany pressed.
Taylor shrugged. "i just wanna ride with you."
"Sure, honey." Brittany smiled. "I can take you."
Santana grabbed a bagel and popped it in the toaster before piling eggs and sausage on it, taking a bite as she sat down at the table. "So, it's getting pretty close to Disney time, so I think now's a really good time to start showing and introducing Sky to some Disney characters."
"Like Mickey?" Taylor smiled excitedly.
Brittany nodded. "Yep, We are leaving in another week or so, so that means every day you get to show Sky a new character and watch some cartoons with her."
"You're going to love Disney, Sky." Taylor took her sister, the baby staring at her intently, smiling to match her bis sister's smile. "Well start with Mickey and Minnie tonight."
Skylar stared at Taylor, cocking her head to the side slightly. "Mickey."
"Yep, he's first." Taylor explained. "Okay?"
"K." Skylar mumbled before opening her mouth as Brittany tapped her hand and fed her another spoonful of eggs. "Mickey."
Santana moved Brittany's coffee mug back when Skylar reached for it and opened the morning paper, reading over the news while Taylor began to list different Disney characters to Skylar, the baby hanging on her every word.
11:30am
"Okay, let's do some independent reading before lunch," Mrs. Bluester, Taylor's teacher smiled.
Taylor looked up quickly with a smile and closed her math book, she quickly circled the the problems she needed help with and slipped the worksheet in her folder. She dug around in her backpack and grabbed the Disney characters book she checked out at the school library before school and began to look through the book, page by page slowly, writing down all the characters and page numbers they were on, planning on showing them to Skylar when she got home.
"What's that?" Brynn asked, turning around and smiling at her friend.
"We're going to Disney and I have to teach Skylar all the characters before we go, so I got this book so I can show her pictures." Taylor explained with a big smile, scratching her arm through her shirt.
"Whoa, that's awesome." Brynn smiled. "Totally start with Mickey and Minnie."
"Of course." Taylor nodded firmly.
"Taylor and Brynn, independent reading is quiet ladies." stated gently but firmly.
"Sorry." Taylor blushed, turning a soft shade of red.
"We'll talk at lunch." Brynn whispered quickly. "I'll help you pick out the best ones."
Taylor nodded and quickly began to write down notes on each character, Brynn turned around and slipped Taylor a note, Taylor smiling and opening it quickly, covering her mouth while laughing and quickly writing a response back and tapping her friend on the back, handing it back to her.
"Taylor, you're needed in the principal's office." Mrs. Bluester stated suddenly.
Taylor immediately tensed and swallowed thickly. "We won't pass notes anymore." She spit out quickly.
"Principal's office." Mrs. Bluester shook her head.
Taylor sadly gathered her books and slipped them in her backpack as Brynn's eyes widened, her friend mouthing a sorry to her. "I'm going to get in so much trouble." She mumbled to herself as she grabbed the hall pass from the teacher and walked slowly down the hall.
Once she reached the office she froze when she saw Brittany sitting to the side, waiting for her. "Hey honey."
Taylor swallowed thickly, her eyes beginning to water. "Im sorry."
Brittany frowned. "What's wrong? What are you sorry for?"
Wiping the tears forming in her eyes Taylor shook her head and shrugged, looking down while dragging her foot slowly back and forth in front of her. "I was talking to Brynn and passing notes during independent reading and that's why I got sent to the principals office." She whispered. "Can I still go to Disney with Sky?"
Brittany smiled while walking over to her daughter, kneeling down and hugging her tightly. "Relax, Tay." She told her. "I'm here because you forgot your lunch so I was going to take you out for a special lunch date. I'm the reason you got called to the office."
"Oh." Taylor blushed, wiping her eyes.
"Well you seem to know that you were misbehaving in class and I think you learned your lesson inadvertently, so I won't tell mami this time." Brittany told her. "And of course you are going to Disney, you have to let us know all the cool stuff to go to."
Taylor nodded, leaning more into Brittany, who rubbed her back. "Okay."
Brittany signed her daughter out for the afternoon, accepting the folder from the secretary that gathered with Taylor's afternoon homework, before grabbing her hand and leading her outside.
Taylor climbed in the backseat, putting her seatbelt on quickly. "Where are we going?" She asked when Brittany started her car and turned on the radio.
"I googled this place that has the best curly fries in town, so I thought we could go there." Brittany told her. "Then maybe we can do something special."
Taylor looked up quickly as her eyes widened. "What about school? I'm not going back."
Brittany turned around and faced her daughter with a shrug. "I thought the two of us can play hookey this afternoon. Just the two of us."
Shaking her head quickly Taylor frowned. "We'll get in trouble."
"We won't tell mami, it'll be our little secret." Brittany winked.
Taylor raised an eyebrow and tapped her chin. "I won't get in trouble?"
"Nope."
"We can do anything?" Taylor asked with a sly smile.
Brittany laughed. "Within reason, yes."
"Cool!" Taylor smiled. "I'm in!"
