"Attention citizens," Wiress woke up in the bomb shelter to President Coin's voice over the loudspeakers. "There has been no bombing from the Capitol for 24 hours, and Capitol hovercraft have been out of radar range for that same time period. We will prepare to move up to the undamaged levels of District Thirteen."

"Beetee, get up." Wiress shook her husband's shoulder. "We're going to our new home."

"Mmmmmfh." Beetee muttered.

"You'll see the new control room in special weapons and restore the data on the servers." Wiress insisted shaking Beetee's shoulder harder.

"Oh – the control room – get me my glasses, hon, is my chair powered up?"

"I can't get you to move unless it involves inventing –" Wiress muttered rolling her eyes as she packed her and her husband's belongings.

"We goin' to our old room, mama?" Posy asked as her family walked behind the Teslas. The Hawthornes joined the other citizens in settling into their new compartments while Beetee and Wiress installed hardware and software in their new control room in the new Special Defense headquarters. Soon they had the computer systems were up and running. Though the room was slightly different, the Teslas and other engineers felt at home in front of their computer screens.

"We're taking The Mockingjay to the surface." President Coin announced several hours later. "Get ready to receive the feed from the camera crew."

"Yes, Madame President." Beetee replied smiling at Katniss who was standing in the doorway of the control room in her Mockingjay outfit looking tired and apprehensive.

"Come here, sweetie." Wiress beckoned the young woman to her. "Here." She pinned a Geiger counter to her in a discrete place on her clothing. "We'll monitor you from here. Keep you safe." Planting a kiss on Katniss' forehead, Wiress smiled. "We're all so proud of you, sweetheart."

True to Coin's word, the feed began precisely when Coin had ordered it. "Oh my –" Wiress gasped seeing the ground outside of District Thirteen's ruins blanketed with rose petals from President Snow's garden. They watched as Katniss attempted to speak but burst into tears after multiple attempts to recite her lines. Tears ran down Wiress' eyes as the rebels carried a sedated Katniss back underground to the hospital.

"We got an email, wipe the file from the server. Coin's orders!" Beetee ordered. "Engineers, you're free to go to repair duties throughout the district. We're going to meet with Coin. Change of plans."

"She just – choked – just broke down." Gale Hawthorne said heavily before putting his head in his hands. "I – I can't – she can't do this." The room fell silent.

"Why?" President Coin asked.

"Snow's manipulating her mind – keeping Peeta away from her, pulling this trick with the flowers –" Haymitch began. "We need to get the boy."

"NO!" Everyone in the room cringed at Coin's pronouncement. "It's too dangerous. We can't waste the manpower."

"We need to risk it." Beetee said rising to his feet. Wiress grasped his hand on the table in silent agreement. "Katniss needs to see that we are stronger than Snow. That the Capitol can't control her." Beetee paused. "We can come up with a plan – Madame President, the boy she loves is in the Capitol's clutches." He paused. "It's tearing her apart. I know because I've been there."

"Then you shall come up with the plan." President Coin replied simply. "General Boggs, please follow Victor Tesla's orders."

The strategy meeting lasted well into the night. In between showing the military and rebel leaders pictures of equipment on her tablet, and adding her ideas, Wiress kept the coffee pot running. "Hon – this is my last cup." Beetee said as Wiress set his metal mug in front of him yet again. "We're almost done. Sit down, you did a wonderful job." Boggs and Plutarch smiled at Wiress as she patted her husband's shoulder.

"So, that's the plan." Beetee muttered wearily as Wiress tucked him into bed in the wee hours of the morning. "Cressida and the boys – young men –" He corrected himself at Wiress clearing her throat. "They will interview Katniss and Finnick for longer segments focusing on their lives. Meanwhile, Gale is training with his squad to carry out the rescue mission. You and I will be running the computers – breaking the propos into the Capitol itself. We will try to maintain control throughout their mission to distract the Capitol and boost the rebels' morale."

"So, sleep. Now." Wiress whispered snuggling next to him.

"Mm – yes, it's a complicated –" Beetee's musings trailed off as he let out a snore. Wiress giggled as he nuzzled her hair in his sleep.

"But it will work. You will make it work." Wiress whispered as she fell asleep in her husband's embrace.

"Gale ran hard!" Posy squealed as she wrapped her arms around Gale's thigh the next day. She and Vic giggled as Gale lifted them off the ground with each step. They grinned as they latched on Gale's legs tighter. Beetee and Wiress laughed as he approached the dining hall by their newly assigned compartments.

"And I'm helping him with training!" Rory called before running and jumping on Gale's back.

"OW! I'M 'BOUT TO FALL OVER WITH THE THREE OF YA!" Gale gasped.

"You're training with us!" Vic cheered. "Training! Training! Training!" The three Hawthornes chanted eagerly as Gale made his way into the room.

"Ok, guys, get offa me, Y'all gotta get your food." Gale panted with a pained expression even as his younger siblings howled with laughter.

"Rory gets off and you carry our food!" Posy squealed. "Pleeeeeeeease?"

"No, Pose. I'm mean it." Gale said firmly. "C'mon, baby sis." He got trays off the tray rack for his siblings. "Ladies first." Posy giggled as she grabbed her tray and waited for her alloted food.

"Well, looks like both of our work is on schedule." Beetee said happily as Gale received a heaping bowl of chili with meat and beans, squash, and a large slice of bread.

"Yeah." Gale muttered around the bread. "It's just best we get at it." The two said no more as they were not allowed to discuss tactical things outside of their time in Special Weapons and Command. "Heya, Prim!" Gale called waving the young medic over to the table. "Join us!"

"Thanks, Gale." Sighing, Prim sat down with her smaller bowl of chili and squash. "Katniss had another bad day. We're back to sedating her for almost 24 hours."

"Has someone been actually talking to her? Helping?" Wiress asked worriedly as Beetee nodded.

"Yes. Dr. Aurelius. He's been helping." Prim said. "Katniss just wants Peeta back."

"I know, sweetie. She loves him and he's in Snow's clutches." Beetee said understandingly. "You know what, all of us doing our part in the revolution will bring us closer to him being free." Prim nodded.

"Your sister's a strong girl." Wiress whispered as she wrapped an arm around Prim. "Eat, honey. I know you're worried, but you must eat." The Teslas bid the Hawthornes and Prim good night after they ate and returned to their compartments. Once again, the Hawthornes were the Teslas' neighbors. After a short break, Beetee and Gale headed to Special Defense while Wiress stayed behind to help Hazelle with the three children.

"Gale's going to fight. Isn't he." Rory looked into Wiress' face as he spoke. As Wiress tucked him into bed, she knew it wasn't a question.

"Yes." Wiress said. "Soon." She paused. "The revolution is getting more intense."

"I pack the food." Posy piped up from her bed. "My class goes to help on Tuesdays. There's lots and lots of food now."

"Is Rory gonna fight?" Vic asked as he snuggled against his big brother.

"Now kids, y'all know Miz Tesla can't tell about everything." Hazelle warned from her bunk.

"Yes, but they have the right idea. We're getting closer to winning, so everyone is working harder. Everyone is fighting harder in their own way." Wiress explained as the three Hawthorne children nodded.

"Wiress?" Beetee smiled as two large eyes peeked over the blankets. "Get up, hon. Coin gave the order. Gale's shipping off with the Special Forces now."

"What – now?" Wiress croaked looking at the clock by the door. Beetee got out of his chair and handed Wiress some clean clothes as she pulled off her pajamas. She quickly washed up in the bathroom and brought Beetee's shaving things. "You're scruffy, dear." She chuckled running her fingers down his cheek.

"That's the least of my worries, dear." Beetee chuckled before settling into his chair. Holding the door open for her husband, Wiress heard crying in the hallway.

"Nooo! Don't go fight yet!" Posy sobbed clutching the belt of Gale's pants in her small hands. His two brothers hugged him looking up with a mixture of fear and admiration as they surveyed Gale dressed in his combat uniform and combat boots.

"We'll make the battle go real fast." Gale said. "I promise." Posy sobbed into his leg and clutched her brother tighter.

"Hey, sweet girl." Beetee said putting his hand on Posy's shoulder. "You know what? Wiress and my job is to help him come back, ok? So we'll all work together to get your brother back for you in no time. Ok?"

"Oh – Ok –" Posy choked through her tears.

"You all be strong, ok." Gale said smiling. "You all are strong. See you all when I get back."

"Gale –" Hazelle whispered putting her hand on her son's shoulder.

"I'll be careful, mama." Gale chuckled as he embraced her.

"No, Gale. You fight hard. I'm proud of you, son." The Hawthornes waved at him from the hallway as he walked down the hallway with the Teslas.

"You get to that hovercraft, son." Beetee said as they turned the corner. "We'll get the computer room all ready to roll when you touch down in the Capitol."

"Thank you – Thank you for everything." Gale said gratefully as he hugged the inventing couple that had become like second parents.

Soon the Teslas were in the computer hub of Special Defense. Wiress pulled up various schematics of buildings as well as blueprints of hovercrafts. If needed, the computer crew could hack into the control towers the Capitol used to guide the hovercrafts and possibly load software from their computers to the hovercrafts themselves. Mainly, though, they focused on getting what they needed to break into the Capitol broadcast system so Gale's rescue mission could succeed.

"I have the coffee –" Wiress began rubbing her husband's tense shoulders as he hunched over his keyboard staring at the three monitors that were part of his setup.

"I don't think anyone will get up during the battle." Beetee replied taking her hand in his. "But thank you anyway."

"I mean for after." Wiress whispered before kissing him on the cheek. "

"Dear, did you just hack into the electrical grid in the maximum security facility?" Beetee yelped staring at a window on his screen showing the power grid over the Capitol. He beamed at his wife as she smiled shyly in return.

"Yes – oh –" Wiress gasped as the doors opened. She smiled at the two apprehensive young adults standing in the doorway. "It's ok. Come in." She soothed putting her hands on Finnick and Katniss' shoulders. "Your loves are in the Capitol. I know." The two fellow victors nodded before Wiress unlocked her tablet to start her text to speech app.

1445, all designated engineers upload propos. Hacking team, begin your assault on the weak points of the Panem News Network weak spots. Listen to my Beetee –

"We got Katniss up!" Beetee called as her face flashed on the TV screen at the end of the room so the engineers and programmers could see what the Capitol was seeing. "It's ok if it's intermittant, keep trying – ok, now get Finnick up! Use those wormholes we wrote, the teleprompters in the studio should have the viruses by now!" He and Wiress patrolled the room as the tech crew typed furiously on their keyboards. After half an hour, a cheer went up from the engineers as Finnick stayed on air for fifteen minutes. Even so, the programmers and engineers kept working for another half an hour. "Let it go! If they're not out by now they're all dead!" Hearing a gasp, he spun his chair around to approach the younger victors. "It was a good plan though. Did Plutarch show you?" His expression softened at the alarmed look on Katniss' face and promptly blushed at a tsking sound behind him.

"He means that we have given it our all and given the victors and hostages the best opportunity –" Wiress began as she took the two victors' hands in hers. "I'm sure my husband wants to explain as he's still in task mode –"

"You can explain too, dear." Beetee chuckled.

"Yes, well, I want to see if the coffee is still hot while everyone's closing their files –" Wrapping her husband in a hug, she peppered his face with kisses. "Love – you did well – now you may show the kids your plan."
