Terms

There is no dream—I'm not going crazy, became her newest mantra. She wouldn't focus on how he confused her beyond all reason, no, she'd forget about it completely. Kagome frowned in the general direction of his seat, her head held high. It was bad enough she had to worry about slipping grades and getting into college, she couldn't have any distractions from him.

"Hello, Kagome," his deep voice crept its way into her mind and she hated—despised—herself for stirring ever so slightly.

She gave him a curt nod when he asked to sit down. I'll just ignore him, if I have to sit next to him (apparently there was a seat change in math today?) she decided. He cleared his throat, as if he was caught doing something he wasn't supposed to. "I do believe we should be on amicable terms, Higurashi Kagome."

She snorted. "I don't really know what terms we are on, Sesshomaru."

"Positive, as of now."

She rolled her eyes. "And what's in it for me?"
