Chapter Fifty

*Bella's POV*

My eyes solemnly and victoriously cast over the slain bodies that burned right in front of me. It was a dark image, but it meant we were finished.

We just spent the last few hours fighting off god knows what creatures Serena has retreated. Warlocks, Witches, wolves, vampires...You name it. It was viciously enthralling, to say the least. Edward and I stayed with one another the whole time until we couldn't see anymore. Now, we were just cleaning up the mess.

I looked to see Leah come over towards me in her human form. She was in a loose t-shirt and a pair of old jean shorts. Her black hair waving all over the place. Even though Leah hasn't aged in the past few years, sometimes I look at her and I feel as if she's grown up immensely by her features. After everything she's been through, it's made her a stronger individual. "Hey! How are you guys! We just finished up over by Esme and Carlisle."

"Yeah. We're almost done," I told her, looking around at the scene in front of us. Edward, who finished up cleaning some of the mess, came over towards Leah and I. He had been wearing a loose white button up shirt. It was torn in a few spots and he was covered in dirt, just like myself, but he was safe.

"There's no more," he summed up, coming over to wrap an arm around my waist almost immediately. "I just hope the kids are fine now. We haven't heard any news from anyone about them."

"They should be okay. Right?" I mentioned worriedly. "The house was far from the actual battle..."

"They should be sleeping right now. They probably didn't even know it happened. They were all scared for nothing then," Edward told me. I could tell he was trying to reassure me, but I was still uneasy.

"Oh...They probably knew. I have a bad feeling," I muttered, rubbing my arms. "Just something deep inside of me is telling me that something bad is going to happen. I just..."

"I haven't heard anything from Jacob or Seth, so they must be fine," Leah chimed in.

"I just...I hope so," I mumbled. Edward then brought me into his arms and hugged me close. I rested my head against his chest as he ran his fingers through my hair. My fingers fiddling with the fabric of his shirt.

"We're going to be okay. One threat has been diverted," Edward whispered, kissing my forehead. I weakly smile up at him and plant a kiss on his lips.

"I love you," I mumbled into his chest.

"I love you too," He whispered into my hair, squeezing me a little tighter.

I then turned to Leah who awkwardly smiles at us. I decided to make the situation better for my step sister by loosening up myself in my husband's arms to make some conversation, "So...How's Sue and Charlie?"

"Oh. They're great," Leah told me, nodding her head. "Did you hear about the adoption?"

"Adoption?" I questioned, my eyebrows furrowing together. "What are you talking about?"

"Oh crap. They might've wanted to wait and tell you," Leah confessed, scratching the back of her head. "Well...They're thinking on adopting."

"What!?" I exclaimed, wide eyed. "Really?"

"Yeah. I mean, they met this little boy the other day. There was a really bad car crash caused by a drunk driver, killed the driver and the passenger instantly. The only survivor was the boy. Charlie knew the parents from the force, one was a cop the other a detective. Charlie reported first to the seen and found the little boy crying in the backseat of the car. He has no other family, so they might take him in. He's about eight years old," Leah explained to me.

"Wow. I never thought my dad would ever have kids again," I mentioned to my step sister. "Especially since our family situation is so weird."

"Me too. Seth and I were a handful growing up," Leah joked. "My mom told me she never wanted to have another kid, but I guess...Maybe it's because of the two of them. They click with one another. It could be good, but it's something they need to really think about. Like you said, one daughter is a vampire, another is a werewolf, and their son is a wolf...So, this could be a tricky situation."

"I just hope things will go good though. I want them to be happy in whatever choice they choose," I replied, smiling at Leah.

"Me too," Leah agreed whole heartily.

"Edward! Bella!" the voice of my energetic pix of a sister exclaimed, interrupting us. I whipped my head around to see her come darting over with Jasper. "We need to move, now!"

"What's wrong!?" I questioned. Worry filled me and a new sense of panic as Edward and I then gripped onto each other.

"The kids. They're in trouble. We need to go now or they're going to be in big trouble," Alice told me rapidly. "Serena took Renesmee and Abby! They went to resume them or something- I don't know, but it doesn't look good."

"What are we waiting for, let's go!" I cried out, looking at Edward. He nodded as we then joined Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, and the Denali's into the wilderness.

When we approached the area Alice told us about, I felt my eyes go wide. My entire being froze and I couldn't even...I couldn't even comprehend what I was witnessing. All I felt was Edward's arms encircle me as I screamed.

*Jacob's POV*

I screamed. I don't think I ever screamed as loud as I did before as I watched Renesmee's limp body fall. It felt as if my heart stop the moment she hit the ground like a rag doll. Renesmee smacked her head against the stair case leading to the house and sprawled out like a corpse.

Without any hesitation, I wriggled myself out of the goon's grip. I then ran to my girlfriend's body like a mad man, not caring who or what was in my way.

She was still as could be when I approached her. I lifted her into my arms and moved the hair out of her face. She was so cold and so much more paler than usual. I couldn't feel a pulse against my fingertips and felt my body run cold. I then placed an ear against her chest to try and see if there was some sort of life. There was. I could hear the very faint and slow beating of her heart. At any moment, it was going to give out. She was still breathing, but it was very shallow.

I felt my body rage in anger and fear as I began to preform CPR, trying anyway to revive the woman I loved. I felt her heart struggling to beat beneath my hands but I just kept pumping, hoping it would bring her back to me, but it was giving up on me.

"It won't work!" Serena yelled back at me as she looked at the floating orb of Lorenzo's ghost.

"Renesmee. Come on. Please," I begged between sobs as I cradled her body. "Don't leave me. I need you. I need you to show me those brown eyes and be alright because I can't live without you. Please. Renesmee, I'm begging you. Please."

Lily was silently sobbing while Ethan wrapped his arms around her and shielded her from the image. He himself buried his face into Lily, trying to hold himself together too.

"How could you, Serena!" Nahuel snarled, charging at his sister. He was stopped though by one of her goons. "She was pure! She was good! She never did anything wrong! Just because you lost your mate doesn't give you the right to kill someone! She's going to die because of you- you did this! I could kill you! I want to tear you to pieces!"

"Nahuel, I'm sorry but that's just how life works. It sucks. I'm just making mine a little bit less horrible," Serena told him a matter of fact as she grinned at the ghost of Lorenzo. "I get my happy ending now, all thanks to that girl. Once she dies, my Lorenzo will come back to me."

"Not if I can't help it!" Grace hissed, taking her spell book out. She was about to chant a spell, but that's when another voice yelled.

"Don't! Grace!" I looked to see Lizzy with Jen, Aidan, Seth, and a few new people. I watched as Lizzy's eyes then fell upon her sister's lifeless body in my arms and she screamed.

"Renesmee!" Lizzy sobbed. She was about to come barreling at us when Aidan picked her up and held her tightly against him.

"No! Liz! Don't!" Aidan cried out, seeing Serena was still there. He silenced her, but struggled as tears escaped his eyes as well.

"Serena! Stop this! Now!" Maysun yelled out, trying to get her sister's attention. "Come back home! To me, to Jen, to Nahuel! Please! Don't do this!"

"It's too late, sister," Serena said to her ominously.

"I'm doing this!" Grace shouted, taking the book with her shaking hands. "She killed my best friend! It's time for her to pay! My boyfriend is dying for all I know! I'm tried of people taking the ones I love away! It's time for someone to pay!"

"No! Grace! Don't!" I looked to see others now enter the area. A blonde woman, I assumed to be Grace's mom, came running over. I also noticed Bella, Edward, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, and the Denali's were in the area too. The moment Bella saw Renesmee in my arms with Edward, she screamed as well. Her parents came barreling towards us, but Serena stopped them.

"No! Stop it! All of you!" She cried out angrily. "You will not stop me!"

"I will," Elaine spoke up, coming next to her daughter. "My daughter and I will." Grace looked at her mom with tears and began to tremble.

"How?" Serena spat.

"Together," Elaine whispered, reaching out for her daughter's hand. Grace looked at her mother with shock. "Darling, I know I did something terrible to you. I kicked you out when you needed me. You've needed me this whole time and I've been such a horrible mother. I'm so sorry. Let me make this up to you. Let me help you bring your friend back and Masen. I don't want to be the reason you loose someone else."

"Mom," Grace whispered, tears in her eyes as she grabbed her mother's hand. Almost as a silent, angelic prayer they then spoke soft words of a spell.

I watched as the whole spell Serena preformed begin to deteriorate. Serena screamed as Lorenzo's ghost aura disappeared. She then then collapsed on the ground and began to sob out of control.

Once Grace and Elaine finished up, I watched as Grace gripped to her mother for dear life, crying her eyes out. Elaine shushed her daughter and hugged her tight as the two made up.

"Ness," I whispered between tears as I now looked at my girlfriend. Her body was losing life and it would be any moment now. "Please. Ness. Don't do this."

"Renesmee!" Bella and Edward cried out, coming to kneel by me as a family. Lizzy included. Everyone else gathered around as Renesmee lay in my arms.

"Oh god," Bella dry sobbed, touching Renesmee's face. "My baby! Renesmee!"

Edward hugged tightly to a sobbing Lizzy as he tried to control his own cries. He wrapped an arm around Bella's frame as the three began to cry over Renesmee.

"It didn't work. She's still dying!" Jen cried out, looking at Renesmee with worry.

"Not if I can help!" a woman with black hair and blue eyes exclaimed as she came jogging over. "Let me see her!"

"Who are you?" I demanded, holding Renesmee close to my body protectively.

"Jacob, she can help," Edward's voice pierced my ears. I looked up to see he was touching my arm in reassurance. I've never seen him look at me like this before with this compassion. His golden eyes filled with the same fear and sadness I was experiencing. "Please, put my daughter down. She'll be okay, let her help."

I sighed, giving in, as I laid Renesmee on the grass. I watched as this woman then placed her hands on Renesmee's chest and closed her eyes.

"I'm Dru, by the way. Hybrid and healer," she told us quirkily as she concentrated. I looked at her with suspicious and the blurriness of my tears as I watched Renesmee's body.

In a matter of moments I watched as the blood seemed to flow back into Renesmee. Her pale cheeks gaining their light pink tint again. Her heart began to beat violently in her chest like a firework until it reached it's normal rate.

Now, all she just had to was wake up.

"Ness?" I whispered, cupping her face.

"Sweetheart?" Bella added while Edward grabbed his daughter's hand. The rest of us looked in anticipation as Renesmee's eyes flew open. She gasped for air and I felt a smile form on my lips.

The moment her eyes caught mine, she flew right into my arms. I tearfully chuckled, wrapping my arms tightly around her as I buried my face into her shoulder. She was alive. I could feel her heart beating wildly against her chest against my own heart which was pounding like a maniac.

"Ness," I breathed her name in a sigh of relief. I began to stroke her hair and I held her close to me. "You came back."

She then pulled away and looked at me with a smile, "Of course. I told you I wasn't going to leave you."

"Oh thank god," Bella whispered in relief as we all gathered around Renesmee, full of happiness and relief that she was alright.

"I thought I lost you," I whispered to her, trying to hold back the tears now. "I..."

"I'm okay. I'm not leaving you anytime soon," She soothed, planting a kiss on my lips. "I'm alright now."

"Thank you," Bella said to the mysterious woman, Dru. She then eloped the woman in a hug and I watched as the black haired girl smile.

"No problem," Dru replied happily, patting Bella's back. "I'm glad to use my power for good."

"We're all alright now," Lily summed up, wiping some tears away as she looked down at her cousin with relief. Ethan came over and wrapped an arm around Lily, the two smiling at one another.

"Speaking of which, I think there's a few people that are wanting to say hi," Dru piped up. I looked to see two guys make their way across the field. The air suddenly got very still as we all looked towards the approaching few.

"Bumble bee?" the first one called out, looking directly at Grace. The tall, brown haired boy, looked at her as if he was looking at longingly. Grace looked at him the same way. Her entire form seemed to be trembling as she made eye contact with the boy.

"Robert!" Grace then cried tears started streaming down her face as she ran across the field. He ran to her as well as she then launched herself at her long lost brother. He wrapped his arms tightly around his little sister and swung her body around like a doll.

"You grew up," he whispered into her hair while he began to sob. "You grew up my little bumble bee."

"Yeah. I did. I'm seventeen now," Grace replied tearfully as she gripped onto him as tight as she could. "I never thought I'd see you again."

"Me too. Me too," Robert replied softly, squeezing her. "I love you, sis."

"I love you too," Grace replied, closing her eyes to take in the moment with her elder brother.

"Robert?" the shaky voice of Elaine then called out once the siblings had their moment. She approached them carefully as if a ghost was in her presence.

Robert and Grace gently pulled apart to see Elaine look at them. Tears were flowing from her eyes and her body shook a little as she saw her child for the first time in years. "Oh my god."

"Mom," Robert exclaimed. Before Elaine could even react, he took two long strides and threw his arms around her. Elaine began to sob violently as she held tightly to her son in their crushing hug.

"My baby! My little boy!" Elaine cried out, gripping onto him for dear life. She then pulled away a little so she could cup his face. "My Robert..You're so grown up and handsome."

Robert chuckled as his mother kissed his forehead, stroking his face like he was going to fade away at any second. "I'm right here, mom. I'm here. I'm not going away ever again," Robert whispered soothingly, cupping her face now. Grace smiled through her tears as she ran over to the two and hugged tightly to them. Renesmee and I both smiled at each other at the family reunion.

"Hey, Ethan," another voice called out. We looked to see a man with black hair like Ethan's and a smile on his face approach him. "What's up, big brother?"

"Lucas," Ethan breathed as him as he gripped to his brother's shoulder. "Is it really you?"

"Yeah. It is," Lucas replied, giving his big brother an even bigger smile. Ethan smiled bittersweetly in response and then brought his little brother into a bone crushing hug. Lucas embraced his brother tightly as well.

"We did it." Aidan whistled. "We actually made out of this crap alive."

"Hey, Elaine, is Ava okay?" Jen pipped up worriedly as the family reunion calmed down. "Not to break up anything, but you kind of said you would be with her..."

"What's wrong with Ava?" Rosalie questioned, everyone looking at Elaine with concern.

"My sister's fine...She just had her baby. Zach, Carlisle, and Esme are with her right now," Elaine explained, fiddling with her hands. "And hopefully by now, Masen is awake too."

"What happened to Masen?!" Bella questioned right away, her eyes going wide. I could see the distress on her face and Edward's. This really wasn't their night.

"Masen may have been attacked by a warlock..." Lizzy mentioned softly.

"Is he alright? Where is he? What happened!?" Bella cried out, looking frantically from answers.

"Why didn't you guys tell us!?" Edward added.

"Because it wasn't the time! We were getting attacked- it's a long story!" Lizzy cried out, stepping between her parents. "Just know, he should be fine."

"He really should, not to interrupt," Elaine announced, looking at the two worried stricken parents.

"It's a long story, and we'll get to it once we get back to the house," Lizzy muttered, rubbing her temples. "This has been a long day."

"Oh god...I am a terrible mother," Bella muttered, rubbing her temples. "Both of my children were hurt today and I wasn't there."

"No you're not," Renesmee said, shaking her head. "You're the best. It's not your fault. None of this."

"Dear...We're always going to be like this because you're our daughter. The same goes for Masen and Lizzy. Whatever happens to any of you, happens to us," Edward explained, putting his hands on his daughter's shoulders. "And god, you scared us half to death."

"I'm sorry," Renesmee whispered. She then launched herself at Edward and Bella. The two hugged her frame tightly while Lizzy also joined in. I smiled at the family image.

"Where's Abby?" Rosalie asked, looking around.

"She's right here!" Alice announced, walking out of the house with the little girl in her arms. Jasper was right behind them, dusting off his shirt.

The little girl was curled into her mother while Jasper put an arm around both of them. "Little Miss Abby is safe now."

"Thank god you're all fine," Emmett said, wrapping his arms around Aidan and Lily's shoulders. "We were so worried."

"You were all fighters. I'm so proud of you," Rosalie added, hugging onto her children. "I'm proud of everyone."

"Well, I don't know about you guys but I want to get the hell out of here," Jen mentioned, looking at the sobbing form of Serena. Nahuel had his arm around both Jen and Maysun while Jackson held onto the hand of Maysun.

"Serena, I'm going to give you two options. You can either stay but if you do just know they're going to kill you or you leave and never bother the Cullen's again," Nahuel told her firmly.

"It's not over. It's never over. They're coming. This was the only way!" Serena sobbed, curling into a ball on the ground. "I tried."

"What is she talking about?" Lily questioned as Renesmee came to my side. We both frowned as I brought her close to me. She was now nuzzled against my side, her arms wrapping around my torso.

"I think I have an idea. This isn't good," Lucas muttered as he then looked at Robert and the others. "Someone must've realized we weren't where we are."

"Plus, we kind of left a mess." Jackson whistled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.

"Eh, that's kind of our fault," Lizzy added as her, Seth, Jen, and Aidan looked at one another kind of guilty.

"Who are you guys talking about?" I asked, trying to get some answers. Renesmee gripped tightly to my side.

"Um guys...There's someone here to see us," Garrett spoke up. We all turned to see the Volturi now appearing from the woods.

"My, my, my...What do we have here?" Aro spoke, a big grin appearing on his face. Oh shit.

A/N: So I haven't posted in a while, but I had so much going on but all of that is pretty much over. I just finished up school so things should get easier, but then again I still have a lot of other stuff going on. Anyway I hope I get this done soon.
