Chapter 51
Eight months later (March)
Dib was sitting at his computer, talking with the agents of The Swollen Eyeball, as he was trying to persuade them to send someone of higher ranking to investigate Zim's base. He wasn't having any luck because he didn't have much to go off of.
Zim hadn't done anything that would be deemed suspicious for almost a year now, but Dib was convinced that Zim was just waiting to execute something giant. However, considering the late hour it was, even if it was the hi skool's spring break, the other's wanted to go to sleep. Dib signed off when the other's went off line. He closed it and rubbed his eyes. It was going on to one A.M. and thought it might be a good idea to get some sleep.
When he woke up the next morning, it was with a rupturing bang. He sat up sleepily. He looked around thinking that maybe it was an earthquake, but there was no other movement. He decided to take a shower. He popped in one of his CDs in the stereo and tried to wake up. He was in there for a good half hour before he decided to emerge. He dried off and got into a fresh set of clothes and ditched the trench coat after he looked at the bullet holes on his sleeve. He gathered all of his laundry and went to the garage. In there he could feel the weird heat wave that they were getting this year. Usually it was slightly warming up from the winter snow. But instead, it could have been mid July and not one would have known the difference.
He went back up to his room and stayed up there all day except when he went to change his laundry. With neither Gaz or his father in the house he kept music playing though out the house so he wouldn't feel so alone. He kept a mini fridge in his room so he didn't really go anywhere as he was trying to compare his paranormal notes. When midnight rolled around, Dib's stomach started to growl. He went downstairs for an actual meal. He skimmed through the fridge and found that almost everything had mold on it. With a sigh he went to the living room and grabbed the phone.
The receiving end picked up and said, "Bloaty's Pizza Hog, will your order be pick up or delivery?"
"I want delivery," Dib said as he stared to pace. "Can I please just get one large pepperoni." That's when something got his eye. He walked up to the sliding door. "You know what, on second thought, make that two." He gave the address and he was given the total before he hung up the phone.
Dib walked outside to look at the space craft that had apparently crash landed in his backyard. It appeared to be Irkin. Dib walked around, he touched it, but it was hot. The only thing that he could see from the outside was purple hair. Thinking it was somehow his sister, he started to panic as he was looking for something to break the glass with. He found his sister's bat and smashed the glass. He dragged the body that was inside it and then dropped it when he saw who it was. He ran inside the house and desperately dialed the number. "Pick up. Pick up. Pick up!" he was muttering to himself as he was wiping his hands on his shirt.
