It has been two years now since the battle with Jordan took place, and all within the pack was well. Ever since he died there had been nothing but peace within the pack and the packs around is. Everyone was happy and no one was not. It was a great time when Jordan was defeated, once word got out there were celebrations held by every pack that was tormented by him. Yes if was quite an event, an event that would be remembered forever, at least that's what we thought. But as you can see today no one had remembered that, but there is a reason for that that will be told later.
The ones that had been taken in after the battle proved their worth in the pack. They all worked extra hard to make up for their mistakes. They had done bad things in the past and wished for nothing more than a seconded chance, which they received from me. They all now fit right in with the pack. It took some time for them to gain the trust of the others but eventually one by one they trusted them. They became friends with the other wolves and some even found mates. Life for them got a whole lot better.
As for the packs structure, it was still holding strong. All three packs that used be be separated then joined together all those years ago still held a firm foundation. It seemed indestructible, no one could make this pack fall. Or so everyone thought.
Their was one time, though, when the pack weakened a little. Four months ago marked the passing of three great leaders, Winston, Tony, and Eve. Tony passed first, with Winston and Eve only a couple days later. The whole pack was distraught at the news of these great leaders passing. It was gloomy for weeks but soon wolves went back to normal. Of coarse it mostly affected Kate, Lilly, and Garth since they were their parents. They were depressed far longer than any of the other wolves for obvious reasons. I tried my best to comfort her but the best thing for this was time. So that's what I gave her. I gave her space and time and soon she went back to normal which I was glad to see.
Since the leaders of the west and east sections of the pack passed we had to replace them fast. The East was easy since Tony already had someone to take his place, which would be Garth. But since Eve and Winston were both mates to leaders of other parts of the pack aka Garth and I, someone else would have to step up. And I knew the perfect candidate. He was very loyal to the pack and has served for Winston for many years. This wolf in talking about is Hutch. Him and his mate Shalie took over for the western section of the pack.
Also another wolf had died on those years, and he was a person I held very dearly to me. Earl had passed away do to an unexpected heart attack. No one knew what caused it but that's not what mattered. I was the one who was hit the hardest by his death. He had been a father to me ever since I was two weeks of age. He had a big part in my life and I was very greatful towards him and I would miss him dearly.
I had asked Guardian if they were ok and he replied that they were fine and in a better place. They were all at peace and would be watching everyone from above along with our other fallen friends and family. I was happy to hear that we were being watched by our loved ones which means we would never be alone.
Now everything was fine with the pack, but all was even better within my family. Ever since my pup Blaze was born I felt like a part of me that felt empty was now filled in. I now felt full, like a whole wolf. Blaze had grown up quicker than I could have imagined. He was intelligent, witty, funny, and a fine young wolf. He was great with others, he could make friends with everyone and he did. He was especially friendly towards Hutch's daughter Amanda. They had what seemed like more than friendship even though neither wanted to admitt it. But everyone knew they were in love.
Blaze was also a strong wolf. At the age of one, like all others, he applied to be a delta. He was permitted by Smitty to be one seeing that he would make a great Delta one day. But he did not do what the other delta recruits did. No, since he would become the future leader of the whole pack I did special training with him. I pushed him hard for a long time, it was extreamly hard. But he did not quit, he was strong and determined to become the best he could become. And all of his hard work paid off because a year later he became one of the finest Deltas the pack has ever seen. He made his mother, me, his family and his friend very proud.
Speaking of family, about six weeks after Blaze was born Garth and Lilly had thei pups. Two boys, identical to their father. Their names were Joey and Jason. They too both grew up to be great Deltas. And about nine montgs after their births McCabe and Abby had their pups, one boy one girl, followed by Nikolai and Natalia a few days later, two girls one boy. McCabe's and Abby's pups names were Blake, after our uncle, and Patricia. Nikolai's and Natalia's pups were named Sergei, Zina, and Marina.
Blake looked just like McCabe with the crimson red stripes to the piercing green eyes. And Patricia was black with a white underbelly. Both of them acted like their father. Smart, funny and playful. But they were also both natural born leaders.
Sergei was fully grey like his father. Zina was pure white like her mother and Marina was a mixture of both. They both shared all the personalities of their parents.
Also after about three months after they met, David and Jamie became mates. I knew after I saw them with each other that they would eventually become mates. They loved each other deeply and were glad to be with each other. But unfortunately for them, they could not have pups. Jamie was barren and was not able to. When tgey found out they were both distraught that neither could be parents. But David still stood by her side. He still loved her even though she could not produce pups. Eventually they got over it Though becoming normal again after awhile.
Andy and Smitty still have not found anyone yet. I hoped that they would soon because we were getting old. At this time I was now five. We would all pass in a couple of years and I did not want them to die alone. But I wouldn't interrupt in their personal life's what they do with who is up to them.
I never forgot what Guardian said to me. That right in this time I would be betrayed by someone close to me unwillingly betray me. But that could only mean one thing, the devil wolf that possed Jordan was still alive, and Guardian confirmed it. Even though he was weak from being torn away from his mortal body from being killed, it's been two years and he has regained his strength. He would attack within the year. When I told my friends about this they were scared. What would they do if one of them got possessed, they were all close to each other. They didn't know if they could kill each other if it came to that. Plus what if it was Smitty, or McCabe. They were the strongest out of all of them and that combined with the power of a demon, they would be unstoppable. But after hours of talking and arguing we all agreed that if it came to it, the one possessed would be killed. It was a hard decision, but it had to be done.
Mright now I was lying down, looking over my pack. I sighed in happiness. I loved leading this pack it was great. The wolves, the territory, everything was great. As I was lying down I heard paw steps from behind me. The wolf lied down next to me and put their head against my side. "Hello Kate." I said licking her head. "Hello Humphrey." She said in a tired voice. I didn't blame her, it was Kate in the afternoon And we had done quite a lot today not important enough to go into detail but it was tiring. We did do some log sledding again along with the others and Blaze had a day off so he came and spent it with us. But about an hour ago I told him he could go hang out with some friends which is what he did.
"So have fun today?" I asked her. I knew she did I just wanted to hear it from her mouth. "Very much. The most fun I've had in awhile." She told me. I smiled,"That's good. Too bad today was out only off day for the next six months." I sighed. "And I can't wait for that day." She said rubbing her nose against mine. While doing this I heared more paw steps coming up the slope. I turned to see Blaze coming towards us with a smile on his face. "Hey son, why so happy?" I asked. "Oh today was just really fun. Hanging out with you guys and the rest of the family, it was the best." He exclaimed. I chuckled,"Dint hear much young wolfs say that." Kate giggled at what I said. "So what are you guys doing now?" Blaze asked. "Just waiting for the sunset, then I think I'll turn in for the night." I responded. "Sounds good to me." Kate agreed. "Guess that's the plan then, mind if I join you?" Blaze questioned. "Not at all." I said. He then walked over to us and lied down watching the sunset with us.
After about ten minutes the sun set and it was now dark. We all went in to thd den and lied down in out spots. We said out goodnights and went to sleep. My life had been perfect for the past two years and I hoped it would last as long as it could. But what I didn't know yet was that tomorrow would change everyone's life's forever.
