Miles 'Tails' Prower
"Here I come, Sonic!"
Hey! My name is Miles Prower, though everybody calls me Tails. I'm sure by now you fully remember what's happened to me and my friends these past few months. In fact, we've been on this world for about ten months now, and we came in on a month called 'February'. Anyway, I'm a mechanic. I build things, I fix things, I destroy things - I do pretty much anything with machines. Using these machines, I assist Sonic in any way possible.
Recently, I decided something. I decided to make a plane that's faster than the X-Tornado, the plane we mainly use, and well...that's when my story begins. Enjoy.
"Tails, do you want some help on that?" Chuck Thorndyke asked me, entering his lab, where I was workin' on the prototype.
"No thanks, I'm good. I just need to sort out this one little bit and I'll be ready to...done!" I answered. At that, I finished what I needed to finish, meaning that my prototype plane was ready for a test run. "Prototype Cyclone is ready for lift-off!" I climbed into the cockpit of the plane.
"That was fairly quick," Chuck commented, moving the laboratory upwards, so that we were in line with the opened garage door. Following that, the old guy pressed a button on his remote, causin' the palm trees on the little stretch of road to shift to the side.
"Yeah, but I've been workin' on it for several hours. I'm sure I would have finished sooner or later," I returned, as I started the engine. "Cyclone Prototype ready to go in 3...2...1...take-off!" With that final word, I set the prototype into the air, on a tester run through the skies of Station Square.
As I was flyin' high in the sky, everything seemed to be going well. Nothing was breaking off; I wasn't losing altitude; everythin' was alright. It was then when I recieved a call on the communicator, I installed on the plane, from Chuck.
"How's the plane, Tails?" he asked me. "Can you hear me? Is your communicator working?"
"Yeah, it's fine," I responded. Good, that was the communicator working. Unlike now. I heard a miniture explosion emitting from the circuitry. This caused the prototype to start flyin' everywhere, outta my control. "Whoa! May-day, may-day!"
"Tails, what's wrong?!" Chuck questioned, hearing my screams.
"The plane's gone outta control! I'm gonna crash!" I reported, using all my strength to make sure I wouldn't crash. Try as I might, I ended up crashing anyway in the Emerald Coast.
Mere minutes later, a certain best friend of mine dashed along and helped me up from the side of the crashed plane. Among the sands and the sounds of the waves slowly brushing up against the beach, Sonic started askin' me the esact questions someone would ask.
"Heh, you're lucky we saw ya'," he mentioned. "What happened? Why weren't you flying the X-Tornado?"
"First off, I wanted to see if I could create a plane that could potentially fly faster than the X-Tornado. Obviously, that test run didn't work out so welll. I guess I forgot how I made this so compatible..." I defended, climbing into the wreckage and brought out the Chaos Emerald I was using for testing. "I found this baby while shopping for new parts."
"Cool, a Chaos Emerald!" Sonic noticed, starin' closely at the gem.
"I think I may have overlooked some stuff. Tell ya what, go back to Chris' place. This'll only take me a second to fix," I told him, remembering something I wanted to show him.
"Alright, see ya there!" the hedgehog replied, utilising his natural speed to zoom away.
Meanwhile, I patched up Prototype Cyclone and took-off again, remembering to not go too fast, otherwise I'll end up crashing again. And nobody wants that to happen.
In an unknown amount of time later, Sonic and I made it to the Thorndyke Mansion. He waited for me to land me my plane, and when I did, I joined him on the car park.
That's when our bestest friend in the whole wide world showed up.
"Ho-ho-ho! Look who it is, it's Sonic and Tails!" Dr. Eggman announced, hovering above the car park in that Egg Mobile of his.
"Heh, it's a giant talking egg!" Sonic taunted as Eggman arrived.
"Enough! I've been working on a master plan, and it's time to put it in motion!" Eggman threatened. This showed that he had some kinda machine ready for us.
"That usually means trouble. Whadd'ya want?" I questioned. I wanted answers.
"I want all of your Chaos Emeralds! Hand them over!" the doctor demanded. "Or else!"
"Or else what?" we both asked at exactly the same time.
"I'll take them...the hard way!" Eggman continued, pressin' a button on his control pad, growing some spikes at the end of the Egg Mobile. "Prepare to face...the Egg Hornet!"
Egg Hornet
Boss Battle
Eggman's Egg Hornet wasn't difficult. Sonic and I had to dodge a few missiles, but when he tried to stab us with the pointy end, we moved outta the way, allowin' me to get a good Spin Jump attack in.
"Nice goin', Tails!" Sonic commented, likin' my peformance.
"Thanks, Sonic!" I thanked. "It should only take a few more hits to beat this thing."
"Cool! Then let's go!" Sonic nodded.
We had to dodge more missiles and more stabbing attempts, but in the end, we still won.
Y'know, I could build a better boss. I'm sure Chuck can as well!
Battle End
"That was way too easy!" I commented, grasping my purple Chaos Emerald and walkin' towards the front door of the house. However, to rain on my parade, it turns out that Eggman was okay. Wanna know how I know that? 'Cause he stole the emerald right from my hands. "He snagged it!"
"You shouldn't have opened your big mouth!" Eggman taunted, in his mobile which was among the wreckage of the spiked bits.
The commotion created by the battle alerted Chris, Cream and Cheese outside.
"Oh no! Dr. Eggman's got the Chaos Emerald!" Cream noticed.
"Chao!" Cheese added.
"Give it back!" Chris demanded, stepping forward.
"No thank you! Besides, someone else needs it!" Eggman answered. "Chaos, time for breakfast!"
I was confused. "Who's Chaos?" I asked, turnin' to Sonic.
"He's some monster I saw the other night," Sonic answered, as a humanoid figure made out of...water appeared. How is that possible? Did Eggman make that?
Dr. Eggman threw the emerald at the blue monster, causin' it to grow immensely. "Hear this! Chaos' power increases whenever I feed him a Chaos Emerald. When he gets all seven, he'll be invincible! Then, he'll turn Station Square into nothingness, where I will build Eggmanland, the base for the Eggman Empire!"
"No way!" Cream responded, shocked and scared.
"How could you even think of doing that?" Chris asked.
"Because I'll do whatever it takes for global domination!" Eggman exclaimed. "Adieu!" At that, he and Chaos left in a flash of blinding light. Literally.
"Argh, we can't let him get away with this," Sonic stated. "But how're we gonna do that?"
"Well, Chaos needs all seven Chaos Emeralds, right? Then let's just get them before they do!" I suggested.
Sonic nodded in response. "Good plan! Let's use the X-Tornado."
I agreed, and because of that, the both of us hopped inside the garage, where the X-Tornado was. As we took our positions, Chris and Chuck came rushing in. Chris had his helmet on; and Chuck was holding some weird...things.
"Guys, can I come?" Chris asked us.
"I don't see why not. Hop in!" I answered, as the boy jumped in the seat behind me.
Chuck set up the runway, and chucked something at me specifically. "Tails, take these."
"What are they?" I asked, preparing the X-Tornado and catching the objects.
"You can attach them to the back of your shoes. I borrowed the power of one of your Power Rings to make it," Chuck started to explain. "I call them the Jet Anklets. They'll allow you to fly faster."
"Cool, thanks Chuck!" I thanked. "Alright, you guys ready? Then let's fly!"
Shortly after, we took off, aiming to foil Eggman's plans.
In time, Sonic, Chris and I found it frustrating to find a Chaos Emerald without one. Luckily, I had an idea where I used my Power Rings to provide the energy needed. Suddenly, as we hovered hover a set of extremely tall mountains, the locator started to beep, meaning we'd have to continue searching on foot. So we did.
Chris seemed to recognise the place, which he actually did. "I know this place. It's the Windy Valley - a mountainous region in North Western England, famous for it's intense winds. We might wanna watch out."
We both nodded. By now, we're used to this sorta thing.
Windy Valley
Action Stage
BGM: In the Air
During our search for the Chaos Emerald in Windy Valley, we had to battle giant fans and wind paths, and even a literal tornado. Because of that, Chris was sent flying to another part of the valley, where we figured we'd meet him aliong the way.
After the tornado, Sonic suggested something. "Wanna race to see who gets the emerald first?"
"Heh, sure!" I answered. I was probably gonna lose, but I have the Jet Anklets on my side, so that could come as an adventage.
I sped round the bridge, down a slope, but Sonic was still ahead of me. I had to think of something if I wanted to win...
Remembering that this place is wind-based, I flew in the air, using several air boosts to gain the lead. These concentrated blasts of wind were just what I needed to win.
Even though we were neck-and-neck at the very end, what we saw disappointed us.
Level C Complete
"Look! I got the Chaos Emerald!" Chris told us, waving the dark blue Chaos Emerald in his hand.
"How...?" Sonic wondered, as we were both confused.
"The blast from the tornado sent me all the way over here. Funny, huh?" Chris grinned. He looked all around, like something was missing. "How are we gonna get back?"
I said nothing, and whipped out a remote. "With this!" I answered, pressing a button on it. This button caused the X-Tornado to go into auto-pilot and make it's way to the lonesome mountain we were on. "I installed an auto-pilot!"
"Awesome! Now let's get that next emerald!" Sonic stated, hopping onto the plane. Chris took his seat, I plopped in the Chaos Emerald, and prepared for take-off.
Our search was taking quite the time. The Chaos Emerald Locator brought us above Station Square; though more specifically, above what Chris called a 'casino'. I landed the plane, and we all approached the casino.
"This casino's called Casinopolis. I'm underaged, so I'm gonna have to wait by the X-Tornado. Sorry," Chris explained, as we stood in front of the building.
"Casinopolis? Nice name," I commented. "And that's fine."
"Names aren't everything," Sonic added, attempting to enter the casino. Whenever he tried to, a guy at the entrance got in his way. "Hey, we need to get in there."
"No. We are closed," the person stated. "Casinopolis is filled with robots."
"Robots? This has gotta be the work of Eggman," I realised. I walked up to him. "Please, let us in. We'll take care of the robots."
"Hmm? You're Sonic the Hedgehog, aren't you? Please, enter," the man noticed, allowing us to enter Casinopolis.
I wonder where the emerald would be... I wondered. It was interesting to see where the Chaos Emerald would end up.
Very interesting.
Casinopolis
Action Stage
BGM: The Dreamy Stage
Things were alright in Casinopolis. Some of Eggman's bots that had a blade attached to them that was always spinning didn't last for long, as Sonic and I took care of them. In actuality, these were the only kinds of 'bots here, so they were gone before you can blink.
"Alright, now we gotta get those emeralds," I reminded. "Where to start? This 'vault'?"
"Sure," Sonic replied, dealing with the last spinner. We both then entered the vault, where we found nothing but a pile of gold. "Cannonball!"
"Wait-" I tried to stop him, but he dived into the fake gold anyway, and exited with nary an emerald in his hand. "-Never mind."
"Where now?" he asked. "I saw a shower room while we were trashin' those 'bots."
"Then let's check there," I agreed. We quickly jogged over to the shower room, and while Sonic wasn't looking, I quickly hopped into the massive drain on the floor. Of course, I had to open it first...ah, that's not the point.
BGM Change: Dilapidated Way
Inside the garbage dump, I couldn't find the emerald, no matter where I looked. I did find some more spinner robots though.
Spinner robots equals trash. That's why they're in the dump.
Anyway, after dealing with these robots, I re-entered the shower room.
BGM Change: The Dreamy Stage
"Tails, were you lookin' in the dump?" Sonic asked me, having noticed that I left.
"Yeah. I thought the emerald might be there, but it wasn't," I explained. "Where might it be?"
"I saw somethin' in the vault..." Sonic stated, runnin' out the room temporarily. I followed him to the vault, where he had the grey Chaos Emerald in his hand.
"Nice going, Sonic!" I complimented. "Let's go tell the guy that we're done in here."
Hopefully people can get in and enjoy themselves now that we've cleared up the place. Hopefully.

We did precisely that. He thanked us and we said our pleasantries, and though it was still night, I could feel something was wrong.
My suspicions were confirmed when someone we all know and loathe arrived.
"Whoa!" I grunted, rolling outta the way as to not get hit. Because of this, I erroneously dropped the grey emerald. "Oh no!"
As I tried to grab it, Eggman sprayed some sorta gas on us. During this time of helplessness, the doctor snatched our emerald, and hovered away.
"Nighty-night! Ho-ho-ho!" he taunted, getting away with this.
"Egg...man..." I croaked, fallin' asleep due to the knock-out effect of the gas. Sonic was hit too.
Apparently, we were unconscious through the night, as when we awoke, the sun was up. It had to have been the break of dawn, 'cause there's no way that kinda gas would be that effective.
Either way, the both of us were awake, and our emerald was gone. There was nothing we could have done about that.
Chris helped us up. He was curious to know what happened. "Why were you guys on the floor?"
"Eggman. That's why," Sonic explained, dusting his legs off.
"Ah man! He's got two, and we've only got one. Come on, we need to get movin'!" I realised, speeding to the X-Tornado. There really was no time to waste, Eggman could have been out looking for that Chaos Emerald by now.
"I could barely sleep..." Chris complained, as we all took our places. Without haste, I launched the X-Tornado off. I just had to keep flyin'. Station Square, and the world, rested on our speed.
Within a few more uncounted hours, the Chaos Emerald Locator started to go off above a seriously cold location. I turned to Chris for information on this area.
"We're in Norway, though I don't know specifically where. It's snowing 24/7 here," the boy explained. "Becuase it's absoluely freezing here, and I didn't expect snow, I'd die out there pretty quickly. So mind if I stay in here?"
"That's okay," I answered, landing the plane. "Let's go, Sonic!"
Sonic jumped off the plane; as did I. Ya know, this place reminds me of somewhere...
...I can't place my finger on it...
Ice Cap
Action Stage
BGM: Be Cool, Be Wild, Be Groovy!
Through this snowbound location, Sonic and I passed over icicles, snow walkways, all sorts of things you'd find in a snowy area. Not even Eggman's Badniks proved to be any kind of difficulty. I was tempted to make a snow angel, but I quickly remembered why I was here.
When Sonic and I found some snowboards, an avalanche started to chase us.
So guess what we did? We had a little race, just like in Windy Valley. There were no concentrated blasts of wind this time, as this race was strictly snowboards only.
With our speed, we bashed through any piece of ice that was in our way, while narrowly evading the trees that were littered around the course. Without my ability to fly, this race was pretty difficult, but I managed to use the ramps just as effectively as Sonic, if not better. The pair of us were neck-and-neck, and even when I took a shortcut, Sonic was still right there next to me.
I was first...he was first...then I took first again...until I slid my hand onto the sheen of the mystical emerald just as he stepped off his board at the bottom of the hill.
Now I gotta keep this one safe.
Level C Complete
"Good race!" I complimented, holdin' the emerald in my hand.
"Yeah, that was pretty close!" Sonic smiled, giving me a thumbs-up. "Come on, Chris is waiting for us."
"That's right; he is," I remembered, flyin' back to the X-Tornado with Sonic.
When we arrived, Chris was curled up, supposedly trying to keep himself warm. I knocked on the windshield, and waved the green emerald towards him. He nodded and sat up, while Sonic stood atop the plane.
I set up the Tornado to make sure it was ready for another flight so soon, and happily enough, it was ready. So, I took it into the air, searchin' for the fifth emerald. Four emeralds have been found so far. Compared to our previous progress, this was super-quick!
Flyin' above a valley, Sonic pointed out a red figure that each of us recognised pretty quickly.
"What's that Knucklehead doin'?" Sonic wondered. "Hey Tails, land the plane would'ya? I wanna see what Knuckles down there is doing."
"Sure thing!" I responded, landing the plane between two mountains. We approached him, cautious about our surroundings. Knuckles himself was just staring at us, not saying a word.
"What's he up to...?" Chris continued, watching the echinda.
As nobody was speaking, I decided to ask him the questions.
"What's the matter, Knuckles?" I asked him.
Instead of saying anything, he decided to try and punch each and every one of us.
"Hey, careful there, Knucklebrain!" Sonic warned, pulling Chris out of harm's way.
"Don't play games with me. I know you have the emeralds," Knuckles stated. "Give them to me."
"No way!" I replied, ready to take him on. I knew he was gonna do somethin' like this at some point.
VS Knuckles the Echidna
Character Battle
"Tails, step aside. I do not wish to harm you, Sonic, or Chris," Knuckles prepared. "Then again, I need those emeralds."
"I'm not gonna let you have 'em!" I answered, defending myself with my tails. I don't know how, but I managed to defend myself successfully.
"Knuckles! Calm down!" Sonic barked, attacking Knuckles with a Spin Dash. He repelled the rolling attack with a single punch.
"Hmph. I'll fight both of you if it means I get the emerald pieces," Knuckles sighed, attacking both of us with his fierce strikes. Sonic and I both evaded, and attacked him at the same time.
This cycle kept repeating for the rest of the fight, until something terrible happened.
Battle End
Sonic was charging ahead; Knuckles was charging in the opposite direction. The force of the collision between the two caused the emeralds Sonic had with him (which was both the purple and green ones) to slip outta his grasp.
"Oh no, the emeralds!" I worried.
Suddenly, Dr. Eggman hovered down to the emeralds and picked them up with his Egg Mobile's abducting abilities.
"You all are bumbling idiots, you know!" he taunted, holding the emeralds wide in his two hands. "Especially you, Knuckles. You are so easily tricked! They were practically drawn to my grasp!"
"What's he talking about?" Chris asked.
"Don't you realise when you've been tricked, Knucklehead?" Sonic mocked, making the most out of a bad situation. I think.
"Tricked? I don't know the meaning of that word," Knuckles claimed, trying to be like his muscles. Strong.
"Way to go!" Sonic continued, turning back towards the doctor.
Eggman wasn't finished gloating. "Four emeralds! Ha-ha! FOUR emeralds! Count 'em, four! Chaos, time for some food!"
The same blue creature from before appeared from it's signature puddle. Eggman allowed it to consume the two emeralds, transforming it again.
"Man, it likes to transform, huh?" Sonic mentioned. "You ready, Tails?"
"Ready when you are!" I answered, preparing myself for another battle.
Chaos 4
Boss Battle
Chaos dived into the pond below where we were. Sonic would be hating this by now, but luckily, there were lilypads that we could stand on. The creature kept charging round the pond, causing the lilypads to dip into the sea. Neither of us touched the water however, because we kept on jumping from pad to pad.
Whenever Chaos would bob it's head outta the water, we'd go in and attack. The fight was straight forward, 'cause that's all we had to do.
Chaos is about as imaginative as Eggman.
Battle End
When we beat Chaos, a MASSIVE flying fortress came overhead the mountainous region. No doubt it's Eggman's.
"Behold! My mechanical masterpiece, the Egg Carrier!" Eggman announced, as our lives temporarily became darker. Literally. "However, it's might is just a spec of dust compared to Chaos'! Until we meet again!"
Just like that, the 'Egg Carrier' beamed the doctor up. It then started to fly away, and that's when I thought of something.
"We can't allow him to just get away!" I brought up. "We need to take the X-Tornado!"
"Yeah!" Sonic nodded.
Knuckles had other plans. "You guys go. I've got some business to sort out."
"No prob! We'll take care of Eggman!" Sonic replied, as Knuckles started running off.
"Come on, we need to get moving!" Chris exclaimed. All three of us climbed back into (or onto, in Sonic's case) the X-Tornado, and I made sure we were on course for the Egg Carrier.
Sky Chase: Act 1

BGM: Tornado and Scramble
We were blasting along the blue skies and white, fluffy clouds, aiming for Eggman, trying to get those Chaos Emeralds back. Some Badniks in the shape of fighter planes came in close to attack us, but I shot them down. We only had a small slither of Chaos energy in the form of Power Rings. Boy am I glad I thought of that.
There were quite a lot of those mini-fighter planes, but numbers wasn't exactly strength. Good formation, though. I'll give 'em that.
As we flew up the back of the Egg Carrier and above the bridge, some turrets firing some fireballs shot at us, but thanks to my piloting skills, we came out unscathed. They didn't.
I figured the best course of action would be to eliminate all the outside forces first, before landing, so I kept circling the carrier, eliminating all that I could. After time, I did so, but some weird, flying robot started chasing us.
"What's that?" Sonic questioned, staring at it. It appeared to be some kind of dragon.
"Whatever it is, we gotta shoot it down!" I stated, firing at it. Our bullets didn't even penetrate it's shell. "Okay, I'm kinda out of options."
To make things worse, the metallic dragon started shooting fireballs at us, which I could just barely dodge. "We're not doing so well..." Chris mentioned.
We really weren't. To top it all off, we were chased to the exact front of the carrier, where the front opened up, and fired a blue laser at us. Because we were distracted by the dragon, neither of us saw this coming, which meant we were now continuously spiralling towards the Earth.
"Sonic!" I called out, as he slipped off the plane. Come on...we better come out alive...I wanna live to see Sonic another day...

Miles was walking down the fresh green grass of the Emerald Hill, as the sun beamed down on him. His home was being destroyed - his life, everything that he knew was being utterly annihilated.
When suddenly, a ray of hope hit his life. A blue blur came speeding by, of which the kitsune decided to follow. As the blue hedgehog destroyed some of the invaders, the young fox was filled with happiness.
He finally found salvation in his miserable life.
I woke up facing the complete black sky. Chris was still unconscious, beside me, and the X-Tornado was behind me, it's left wing broken off. I thought about that dream I just had - how it's memories brought back the best day of my life. Wow, that dream brought back memories! I owe so much to Sonic... I thought, standing up. I quickly realised Sonic wasn't with us. Somehow, he must have ended up elsewhere. I wonder if he's alright...the X-Tornado doesn't have a Chaos Emerald, which means that it can't go as fast as possible. I need to find one, but where? I looked all around me, thinking of where one might be. I shook Chris' body, which made him wake.
"Tails, what's up?" he asked, standing up. "Where's Sonic?"
"I don't know, but the left wing of the X-Tornado is completely busted. The only way we're gonna best the Egg Carrier is by getting a Chaos Emerald," I explained to him. "Wanna help me find one?"
"Sure!" he replied. "Oh, I almost forgot!" Christopher jumped in the crashed plane, and brought out something. It looked like a small remote.
"What's this?" I asked him, as he handed me the item.
"My grandpa made this for you in his spare time. He developed a portable version of the Chaos Emerald Locator. It's linked right up to the one in the Tornado, so you don't have to worry about putting in a seperate power source for this!" Chris answered. "He was gonna tell you about it before, but I guess he forgot."
"Awesome! This'll really help!" I smiled, giving him a thumbs-up. "Now let's go get that Chaos Emerald!" I turned on the Portable Emerald Locator - which it was labelled as - and followed the signal that immediately popped up. Chris and I followed the trail into the nearby forest, where usually, without the locator, we'd be lost within a second. Instead, we followed an all-too direct trail.
It wasn't a false positive. In minutes, we found the red Chaos Emerald among the bushes.
"There it is!" Chris pointed out.
I ran towards it, and just as I was gonna leap, some animal came along and gobbled it up. "Hey! Wait up!"
We both chased it through a sand cave, and down the depths of the cavern. Eventually, we arrived at an open sand hill. I found a board, and as the frog slid down the hill, I just had to follow it.
Despite Chris' objections.

Down this sandy hill, I was forced to strafe away from the sides, as to not fall off, and to avoid ruins that would pop up from the ground if I didn't have my guard up. Sometimes, these became more of a help than a hindrance.
Really, those ruins were the only obstacle, and I felt I had a good grip on the board. When I reached the bottom of the hill, I found that the frog had somehow arrived there faster than me.
HOW?
Level C Complete
As I held the frog in my hands, a strange red light started circling me and the green frog. Suddenly, when the light came close to me, it's light intensified to the point that I felt that I was being teleported somewhere. Where was I going?
When I came to, I found myself at some weird place with a huge tower in the middle. Some pink-furred Mobians were walkin' round the entire area. "I thought I was in the desert. I wonder where I am?" I asked myself. "I guess I should explore."
As I started to fly around the place, I could hear the Mobians down below talking and conversing, creating conjestion. I grinned a little, but I noticed something weird on the ground. I decided to check it out.
"Oh, so you want my Rhythm Badge, young one?" the old Mobian asked me. Weird, he looked just like Knuckles.
"This is yours? Sorry sir, I was just taking a look," I answered, putting it down.
"No no, it is fine. You may take it. I no longer need it," the guy replied, picking it up and putting it in my hand. "You seem new here. Go talk to Tikal - she's the daughter of the leader of our echidnian tribe. She's the orange echidna standing beside the tower."
"Thanks, sir," I thanked, putting on the Rhythm Badge.
As soon as the old guy left, the same red ball appeared, orbitting myself. "You got the Rhythm Badge! Now when you attack with your tails, you can use a continuous tail attack if you continue to spin around. You will never get tired doing this, so use it to your heart's content!"
At that, the light disappeared, allowing me to be alone. "Cool, I can do continuous tail attacks now and I won't get tired? Awesome," I commented, flying around the tower to find this 'Tikal' person.
She was standing exactly where the old guy said she'd be. I walked up to her, but she seemed to be talking to someone, or herself.
"The servers are the seven Chaos Emeralds..." the orange Mobian, who should be Tikal, chanted. She turned around to face me. "Hello there, friend. How are you?"
"Hello. What were you just saying?" I asked her, curious about that chant.
"It's something my grandmother taught me. I'm never to forget it. It goes like this..." Tikal replied. "The servers are the seven chaos. Chaos is power, power enriched by the heart. The controller is the one that unifies the chaos."
"That sounds deep," i commented.
"It is, and that's why I'm not sure what it means. But the number seven is the same as the number of emeralds there are," Tikal answered. "Forgive me, but I do not remember meeting you before. I'm Tikal, and you are?"
As I was gonna say my name, the bright light started blinding my vision, just like in that sandy hill.
When I woke, I was outside the cavern, back with Chris. I still had the frog with me, though not for long. Before Chris could even spout a single utter, a sizely purple cat came charging at us.
"Whoaaaa!" he exclaimed, leaping at the ground in front'a me.
"Yikes!" I jumped in sudden fear. I wasn't expecting this.
Because of that leap, the frog jumped outta my grasp, and away from the cat. "Wait for me!" the purple guy called, rushing for the ribbity animal.
"Weird," Chris simply commented. "I guess we can use that emerald now to power the X-Tornado!"
"Yeah!" I replied. I hopped to my creation, slammed (not literally) the red Chaos Emerald inside the emerald slot, and began to fix the left wing with it's broken parts that were scattered around the area.
In about half an hour, the X-Tornado was ready to go. I took the pilot seat, and Chris got the one just behind it. After a couple pre-flight checks, we were ready for take-off.
So we did.
After a while, we noticed the Egg Carrier fly overhead the red-rock mountains. We were just behind it, facing the back.
"Egg Carrier, dead ahead!" I noticed, charging forwards.
Chris looked to the side, and found Sonic on the cliff, looking at the carrier. "There's Sonic!" he pointed out, directing my attention to him.
"Alright, Tails! You're okay!" Sonic grinned, jumping onto the X-Tornado. "We good to go?"
"Of course! We wouldn't be here if we weren't ready!" I answered.
"Amy's on that thing. Whadd'ya say we resuce her, and grab those emeralds?" Sonic asked.
"Let's do it!"

We stormed ahead, taking out all those fighter plane Badniks that came our way. What I didn't expect to see were gold fighter planes, which were wider than their silver counterparts. However, they went down just as easily.
"So, did you change anything on here?" Sonic asked me.
"Nope! All we did was find a Chaos Emerald and slap it in!" I answered. "We now have the engine power to deal with any of Eggman's forces!"
"Cool!" Sonic replied. "Where'd you find it?"
"In some forest. A frog came along and gobbled it up, so Tails went to chase after it," Chris explained.
"Awesome," Sonic nodded, while I destroyed some spikey things, and some fire turrets. Those proved absolutely no match for the power of the Chaos Emerald-powered X-Tornado!
Nothing could even touch the superior mobility of my aircraft! It was such a smooth ride and all! Sometimes I forget how great the X-Tornado is.
Then, the moment of truth arrived. The metal dragon from earlier arrived, firing all kinds of fiercesome fireballs - which we all evaded. Without a single scratch. When it was done, I continuously shot at it, not allowing it to throw a single attack. In seconds, the robot was destroyed.
"Alright! Good goin', buddy!" Sonic praised. "But we're not done yet! Look, the cannon's openin' up!"
"You're right!" I remembered, shooting repeatedly at the opened front of the carrier. Before it could even fire anything, it was put outta comission. "We did it! Time to land!"
Level C Complete
Luckily, all three of us had a smooth landing. Not a single bit of the X-Tornado was scratched, which was pretty lucky. As we exited the plane, we were all amazed at the size of the ship.
"Whoa! This ship's pretty humongous!" Chris commented.
"No time to gawk, Chris. We gotta find Amy!" I reminded him.
"Then what are we waitin' for? Let's go!" Sonic added, eager to start trashing everything on the carrier.
We all travelled onto the huge circular centre in the middle of the surface, where Eggman had something to say to us.
"Don't get any ideas, fools! You truly cannot fathom what this vessel can do! How about a little...sample?"Eggman announced over the intercom, as the Egg Carrier started to change shape. It's 'wings' stretched and rotated, as four sections on it's back extended. Well, that's all I could see.
"Hey, it transformed! Did you see that?" I asked the other two.
"Now how are we gonna get to Amy...?" Sonic ignored, not answering my question.
"Ho-ho-ho-ho! I bet you weren't expecting that, were you? There's only one way to get to me, and that's through the Sky Deck! I highly doubt you can make it!" Eggman finished, cackling all the way.
"Oh yeah? Just try me, Eggman!" Sonic taunted.
We started to look around for the entrance to the Sky Deck, where Chris was the one to find it first.
"The entrance to the Sky Deck must be at that door ahead!" he noticed, walking towards the door.
"Hey, you must be right," Sonic agreeed, walking inside the door. Chris and I followed shortly after, though the human seemed to be worried. "Chris, stay with us, and you'll be fine."
Taking the words right outta my mouth!
Sky Deck
Action Stage
BGM: Skydeck a Go Go!
All three of us were shot out of a cannon right after entering the Sky Deck. By pure luck, we grabbed onto a pillar before anything happened, allowing us to walk onto the bridge. We had to speed past a turret that was shooting at us, but the rest was easy. Up a ladder, across some more pillars, followin' the bridge path over a small drop, all that.
"This is starting to get tricky..." Chris complained, as Sonic destroyed some spinners. We got to a much larger pillar, onto a square-like bridge formation. We had to climb up more of these pillars and onto the higher up bridges in order to advance.
"Whoa, watch out for the cannon!" Sonic warned, as we expertly dodged a green energy shot from a huge cannon.
"I see a rocket over there we can use to destroy it," I discovered, pointing towards the set of five rockets. "There's also an extra four there that we can use to get to the next section of the deck.
"Good spot!" Chris thumbed-up, as we climbed to the highest bridge possible. As we all raced to destroy the cannon, we evaded more energy shots. We managed to reach the rocket before it shot us, and Sonic was the one to finish it off.
"Woo!" I celebrated. "Now for the rest of the Sky Deck!"
From then on out, we grabbed the remaining few rockets - save for that spare one - and charged right through the remainder of the deck. Sonic and I started to destroy more turrets and cannons - we almost lost a life due to the turbulence we created.
Oops. Anyway, we powered through the last few turrets and things, past some bits of the carrier that were falling off, which was most likely intentional, and to a much larger cannon.
I figured out that we had to destroy the cannon to move on, much alike last time. So Sonic annihilated the rest of the smaller cannons in the area, and used the rocket to destroy the colossal one.
"Nice one!" Chris complimented.
"Thanks!" Sonic thanked, grabbing both of us by our arms and bringing us to the next area.
BGM Change: General Offensive
I automatically assumed this last section to be the storage bay, which seemed to be correct, as rubbish was being chucked at us. We ascended via an elevator, where I noticed an area I could reach. I suggested that I wait there for the other two to get to where I was. Luckily, Chris and Sonic agreed, so I awaited patiently for their arrival.
"Hmm, what are these?" I asked, inspecting the containers. As the Egg Carrier turned around, the gravity of this area shifted slightly, which caused the containers on the other end to slide over to my side.
"Tails, d'you know what these things are?" Sonic asked me.
"They're containers, and they can slide between these two sides, depending on gravity. We can use these to get up there," I explained, pointing to the correct area. The three of us got up there thanks to the containers.
Following that, we jumped into the small pit. However, gravity changed, causing us to get stuck in certain parts of this 'course'. In time, we all got to where we should be going, and thanks to gravity, we got down the staircase fairly safely. Sonic found a switch, which turned gravity back to normal, allowing us to use the rockets that were ahead to reach the doorway to the inside of the control room.
We were finally out of the Sky Deck.
Level C Complete
Walking inside, Sonic seemed disappointed at the length and difficulty of the deck.
"Is that it? Seriously?" he grinned, stretching his arms.
"I suppose so," Chris agreed.
I had to remind them that we were here for a reason. "We should be checking out the bridge, since Amy doesn't seem to be here."
"Yeah, let's go," Sonic answered, as we hopped into the hovering machine that would take us to the bridge of the ship.
On the bridge, we saw a strange sight. Eggman was conversing with Amy, and that can't be good.
"Sonic! Tails! Chris!" Amy called, as each of us ran over.
"Hmm? You're too late..." Eggman claimed, grabbing the animal Amy had with her.
"Lily!" Amy worried, as Eggman extracted a certain gem from the bird's pendant. When he was finished, the doctor threw the bird back at the girl, hitting her square in the head.
"A Chaos Emerald?" Chris noticed. "Why does that bird have a Chaos Emerald?"
"I don't know..." Amy responded, picking up the bird and making sure it's safe.
"Away with you! This emerald is all I truly need!" Eggman demanded. "Gamma!"
Emerging from the transport machine, a red and white robot with the mark 'E-102' on it jumped into the scene. "What is your wish?"
"Eradicate these nuisances!" Eggman ordered. "Don't fail me!" At that last sentence, the doctor blasted away in the Egg Mobile. He probably doesn't want to see us trash his prized creation! Ha!
"Tails?" Sonic asked me.
"Yeah, Sonic?" I answered.
"Let's trash this 'bot," Sonic responded.
I was more than happy to oblige.
Vs E-102 Gamma
Character Battle
Thanks to my Rhythm Badge, dodging Gamma's laser shots was a breeze. Attacking him was easy, too. Sonic wasn't having any trouble either, so this fight was about as easy as taking a nap.
He did manage to get some potshots in on both of us, but that didn't hinder us at all. Not one bit.
In fact, he actually surprised me because he could hover in the air. Probably 'cause of that attachment. If I ever make a robot, I hafta add that.
No really, I do. I made a quick mental note of that as we finished Gamma off.
Battle End
Sonic and I started charging towards E-102 as it was down, and since it was severely beaten, it couldn't charge back at us. Just as Sonic was about to strike with a Spin Dash, Amy got in his way.
"Please stop, guys!" she pleaded, protecting the robot for whatever reason.
"Move aside! I gotta finish Eggbutt's robot off!" Sonic returned.
"No! I won't allow you to! He's my friend. He helped rescue Luster and I," Amy defended. "Don't hurt him."
"Okay...I guess you must have your reasons," Sonic answered, releasing his tension.
Suddenly, the ship started to rumble. I knew exactly what was happening, and why.
"The Egg Carrier's losing altitude!" I exclaimed. "It's gotta be because of the damage we did during our time on the Sky Deck."
"Hurry it, Tails! Grab Amy and Chris, and get outta here!" Sonic warned me.
"But what about you, Sonic?" Chris asked, tensed up.
"I'll find Eggman, and put a stop to his evil antics! That, and I gotta make sure Luster's still okay," Sonic answered, running off. "Get goin'!"
I ran towards Amy and Chris, and picked them both up, flying into the air. Luckily, they weren't too heavy, and the Rhythm Badge prevented me from getting tired, so these guys were okay. Gamma, who I thought was down and out, hovered into the air and followed us out of the Egg Carrier.
Well, I say follow, but he decided to go his own way for some reason.
As Amy, Chris and I flew sped away from the Egg Carrier, it crashed into the Earth. Me? I was worried for Sonic.
I didn't know if he survived.
Within some short time, I took Amy and Chris back to Station Square, dropping them onto the street. Lily, Amy's bird, was also following us, and turned out to be fine.
What caught my attention though, was the sudden appearence of Eggman and his cronies in the street opposite. "You guys get back to the mansion. I'll go after Eggman alone."
"Alright. Be careful, Tails," Chris warned, as I sped towards the doctor's location.
What happened to Sonic? I wondered, as I saw the Egg Mobile tipped onto the streets.
"We are finished!" Decoe complained. "And I am not saying that because we've only made brief appearences in this adaptation so far!"
"We're doomed!" Bocoe added, contributing to the grief.
"Quiet, both of you! Do not spoil my already ruined day...Chaos is no more, and the Egg Carrier is demolished!" Eggman grieved. Suddenly, he got the Egg Mobile back up, and flew it above the ocean.
A huge crowd gathered in front of Eggman, waiting for an announcement of some sort. I was a part of that crowd.
"People of Station Square! Watch, as your precious city is about to go up in smoke and flames!" Eggman announced, holding a remote up in the air. This speech gathered quite a bit of panic amongst the crowd. "When I press this button, a missile will be launched, exploding your entire city and killing all of you!"
"No way!" I yelped in fear. He can't be...was he really gonna do it?
"Ready? Fire!" Eggman exclaimed, pressing the button. A missile was fired, directed towards the city. Everyone shivered in fear...some were crying, some almost fainted. People were truly freightened by the thought that their lives was gonna reach an abrupt end.
Luckily, that wasn't the case, as when the missile came into contact with the ground, it didn't go off.
"NO! It was a dud! Pah, I'll just sort it out myself!" Eggman bellowed, blasting into the highway.
I can't let him...if he gets to that missile before I do, this whole city will be no more! But...b-but...I guess the fate of Station Square is on my shoulders. I need Sonic...no. I've changed a lot ever since I first met him. Ever since that moment, I've relied on his skills to defeat Eggman. But now that I think about it, perhaps I don't need him. I do not need him every single time something comes up. I've got to rely on myself from now on! Forget about the past! I thought, as my excitement grew. "Eggman, bring it ON!"
Speed Highway
Action Stage
BGM: Run Through the Speed Highway
I saw Eggman up ahead. I couldn't let him get to that missile. Though his Egg Mobile gave him decent speeds, thanks to the Rhythm Badge and the Jet Anklet, my flying speeds were far superior. No matter how hard he tried, the doctor and his two 'bots couldn't keep up.
Using my speed, I flew over to a section of the road that was high up. I rolled down the slope that came shortly after the small straight to gain a whole ton of speed. I shot back up the slightly smaller slope on the opposite side, where I came over a building.
From here, I could see the missile. I was so close - I wasn't gonna give up now. I flew off the road, onto a building, then onto another, where I found a rocket. I took this rocket to another piece of road, most likely connected to the one I was on earlier. Following said path, I ascended up to the top of a building, and hopped from one tall building to another.
The missile was seriously close now. All I could do now was fly the fastest I could between these buildings. Thanks to my will, I made it.
I did it. I beat Eggman to the missle! Now to make sure it doesn't go off...
Level C Complete
It didn't take me long to cut the wire that involved detonation. It was so easy, Cream could have done it. When Eggman arrived to see me undo his work, he wasn't happy. He was livid. He was vexed. He was truly annoyed.
"Tails! You've trifled with me for the last time! Prepare to be vanquished!" Eggman threatened, descending back to the city. I followed him.
When we got back down to the city, Eggman entered the mech that he had prepared. I was standing in front of it, staring it down, as a crowd formed behind me. Police were there to make sure nobody harmed themselves. That's a load off my back.
"So, you beat me to the missile, you shut down it's detonation, and now you stand before me here, trying to stop me once more. You annoying pest," Eggman barked. "I will make you pay for this! I'm giving you a chance to live another day. Begone, before I make mincemeat out of you!"
"I'm not afraid...I'm not afraid...I can do this! I don't need Sonic! I'll do this myself!" I said, determined to kick Eggman's butt all by myself, with the pressure of an entire city weighing me down.
I can do it.
Egg Walker
Boss Battle
Eggman fired some rockets at me, but I successfully evaded each of them. They did cause some holes in the road, though. That can be sorted out later, anyway.
I proceeded forwards, underneath the mech, where Eggman tried to squash me with it's legs. I jumped at the key time, and attacked the leg with a tail attack.
Afterwards, Eggman jumped over to the over side of the street and employed the same tactic as before. Needless to say, it failed just like last time. Not even when he slammed down two metallic legs at the same time. My namesakes weren't enough to destroy the legs completely, but at least I could do damage to the cockpit.
However, one sneaky bomb caught me off-guard, forcing me into one of the buildings on the side. The crowd retreated into the Emerald Coast Hotel for safety, as did the police. Nevertheless, I still managed to get a good, solid Spin Jump hit in.
Another bomb caught me by surprise, but I was still fine. No matter how much damage I took, I would still fight on.
I really have learned a lot from Sonic. Here, I was applying my knowledge and training on taking him out. With one final strike, the Egg Walker (as he called it) started to self-destruct, blowing parts through-out the city.
I won...I beat Eggman!
Battle End
"I did it...I did it all by myself!" I celebrated, as the crowd re-entered the street to cheer for me. "Heh heh, you're welcome, everyone!"
I allowed the crowd to cheer for my victory. After all, it was well earnt. A little while of celebrations and whatnot later, I decided to take-off and try to find Sonic.
My search took me to some mountainous region that looked similar to the Mystic Ruins from back home. Heh, just like old times. I found Sonic in the middle of the area, where I decided to greet him.
"Hey, Sonic!" I greeted, flying past him.
"Hey, Tails!" he responded, running along side me. We started to share our stories - he told me about how he escaped the Egg Carrier, and I told him how I beat Eggman all by myself. It was just like we were back home.
Just like old times.
"I guess that's another adventure behind us!" I noticed.
Sonic nodded. "Yep!"
We gave each other a thumbs-up. A symbol of our friendship.
Sonic's the bestest friend ever. Now, it was a time of relaxation and taking things easy.
I was more than happy to experience peace again. It's been such a long time.
My story ends here.
