Head of House

Draco Malfoy stared at the odd looking house in front of him.

The Burrow.

At one point in his life, he would have cringed even being near this house. Those were the old days… now he was here to meet with the Weasleys' and a few others for their weekly brunch. He looked at the gift in his hand. A cheesecake. They would like that though he was sure Molly Weasley could bake something even more delicious.

He knocked on the door and put a smile on. Ron Weasley opened the door and the pair stared at each other before Ron attacked Draco.

"Malfoy! Finally you're here! Mum's making us wait for you so we can eat. Its bloody time you showed up!" Draco laughed. Leave it to Weasel to be eager to eat. He showed Ron his housewarming gift and the redhead grinned. "You always give the best gifts." Draco smirked.

"I am a Malfoy." He embraced Molly and kissed her on the cheek.

"Draco dear, you look a bit peaky and thin. What is that butler feeding you? You know you're welcome here anytime for food." Molly said, frowning at his frame. He smiled at how much she cared for him. It was hard to find someone so caring and genuine.

"Mum!" Ron whined.

"Okay, okay. It seems like Ronald here has quite an appetite." Ron grew red. "Draco, why don't you join the rest of them outside? I'll be right out." Nodding, he stepped outside to see the rest of the family there setting up the table and silverware. He greeted everyone and hugged the females.

"Draco!" Ginny exclaimed. He hugged her tightly and she frowned at him. "You look skinny as shit Draco." He glared at her.

"You get more like your mother everyday Ginny. It's kinda scary." He sat down next to Ron and started up a conversation with them about Quidditch. Harry Potter walked in soon after and he greeted him. Someone sat down next to him in a huff and he noticed bouncy brown hair from the corner of his eye. "Hermione Granger." He muttered in surprise. She looked up at him with a similar expression and smiled.

"Draco Malfoy." She said giving him a curt nod. He surveyed her and nodded in approval. My, my. It seemed like Gryffindor princess grew up. A lot. "So what has been keeping the Malfoy heir busy?" He narrowed his eyes and chuckled with her.

"Haven't you heard? My parents disowned me." She looked sorry and looked like she never heard the news before. "It was years ago." He added. She nodded. He wondered where she's been for the past few years. He didn't want to ask, but he did anyways.

"I've been gone." She said softly, she cleared her throat loudly and continued. "Just had a little falling apart you know, I'm sure you would understand after the war and everything."

"Are you okay now?" He asked her to be polite. She gave him an odd smile.

"I'm better now." They grew quiet and dinner was served. They hurriedly passed around the dishes, eager to dive in. Ron was about to pass out due to everyone passing everything so slowly. When everyone had their plates piled high and fully they began eating.

"Good lord Molly. You have outdone yourself." Draco said and everyone murmured their agreements. She blushed at his compliment. Dessert came around, Draco reached for the cheesecake just as Hermione reached and both stopped. He beckoned her to get a slice first and helped himself afterwards. "So what does the great Hermione Granger do now?"

"Well, I teach at Hogwarts. I'm the Transfiguration Professor there."

"McGonagall retired?"

"Yes, a few years back. I'm also the Head of a House."

"Head of Gryffindor I assume?"

"Slytherin actually." At this Draco coughed for a bit and she thumped him in the back.

"Well, well, well. Hermione Granger, Head of Slytherin House. What do the Slytherins think about that now?"

"They love me. Though some of the older kids have a harder time admitting it, I know better." She said smirking.

"With that smirk, I believe it." With that smirk, he would believe anything.
