Chapter 49

All the emotions I experienced since I've met Hunter flooded me as we stood in front of the Eiffel Tower. The magnificence of that great structure brought tears to my eyes when I felt Hunter arm slowly caress its way to my shoulder as he drew me closer. Rory was too cute as she made fun of how emotional I was. The truth was, as beautiful as the tower was, being there with Hunter and Rory was what really made it special.

Looking up at him, his mellow eyes and loving smile showed me that it is special for him as well. Standing there with my arm around his waist, I suddenly realized that he was my Eiffel Tower. He was this strong and magnificent man who took my breath away.

I guess being in Paris with the 2 best things that ever happened to me, was too special for me not to cry. It was a feeling and an experience I'd never forget. Paris in the evening as the sun slowly went down, was overwhelming. Hunter surprised me with a reservation to the restaurant in the towel and as we tried to embrace the moment, we couldn't help but laugh when all Rory cared about was the view.

The 5 days in Paris were the most amazing time I've had in my life. I think Rory and I tested Hunter's patience many times, only to find his calm smile letting us know how cute he thought we were. He had seen Paris enough in his life to understand our excitement. He knew we would want to see everything twice and kept up with our pace.

I wasn't sad when it was time for us to go back home. I knew that I'd come back again. It was the most romantic place on earth and I knew that the next time I'd see the Eiffel Tower again, I'd be a married woman. It won't be so different though, because Hunter will be there by my side just like he was this time.

Hunter's smile, when he noticed Kevin's car parked outside of the house, made me chuckle. The love they all shared was special and it melted my heart to see how much he missed them. He left the luggage in the car and we all walked in to find the entire gang waiting for us.

They were all chilling in the living room when we came inside and found all our Christmas presents by the tree and it all made it impossible for me not to get emotional. Damn hormones!

Kevin was the first to greet him with their Kliq sign and a loving hug. It never fail to amaze me how those tough guys who used to beat the crap out of each other in the ring, were so emotional. "I'm going to forgive you for not telling me."

"Why do you think I told Shawn? I knew he'd update all of you. I'm actually surprised he didn't inform TMZ."

"How do you know I didn't?" He peeked from behind the big man. "I might have."

Tammy and Rebecca dragged me to the kitchen and told me how happy they were and how proud they were of Hunter for making this step. I couldn't stop crying and they laughed and hugged me so tight that I felt how much I meant to them. We were all one big happy family and I never in my wildest dreams thought I would feel so loved by such warm and loving people.

We made plans to celebrate our engagement in a big dinner at our house the next day. The men went outside to help Hunter with all the suitcases and I could hear them joke about me bankrupting Hunter with all the shopping I probably did in Paris. We stayed up late with them, the kids even fell asleep on the carpet, but seeing how happy Hunter was, spending time with his friends, meant the world to me.

The next day, I couldn't help but cry when Hunter woke me up after driving Rory to school. The tray with breakfast melted my heart and he tried not to laugh, but it was too hard for him. "So, 9 months of crying?"

"I don't know what's wrong with me." I mumbled as I reached for the Kleenex. "I'm the world's biggest cry baby."

"I was thinking we could go to the doctor's." He smiled as he stole one of my strawberries. "You know, do some tests, make sure you're all good before we tell everyone."

"I thought you'd be at work all day."

"My boss gave me the day off. In fact, he said I could have the rest of the week off. Of course, Vince being Vince, he did ask me to at least stay updated and try to get some work done from home."

"So close." I joked.

"Yeah, I know." He kissed me. "Vince doesn't just hand out days off. There's always a catch."

Having Hunter by my side for my first ultrasound made me feel so safe and emotional, that when the doctor confirmed my pregnancy, I just couldn't hold the tears in.

"I can tell you that you're in week 7 and that there's a heartbeat. So everything looks fine."

"That's okay, doc, I'm sure you see it all the time." He joked and kissed the top of my head.

"I thought she already knew." The surprised doctor smiled.

"She did and we were on a vacation for the past week so we couldn't really check it, but it doesn't really matter. I could say mash potatoes and gravy and she'd start crying."

"I see. You understand that it's just the start, right." The doctor joked back as I covered my face.

"I know. I'm prepared."

"So why don't we schedule our next appointment for standard tests?"

I couldn't really talk so they left me with a nurse while they went outside to schedule another appointment. She helped me get dressed and couldn't stop smiling until she finally got the courage to say something. "Would you mind telling him that I'm a big fan and I'm really happy for him? And for you of course."

"I will." I smiled shyly and nodded. "Thank you."

"But don't worry. I'm not going to say anything. Confidentiality and all."

"I appreciate it. We need some privacy. I'm not sure he's ready for such an exposure yet."

"I'm honestly really glad he's moving on. My family and I were always big fans and it was heartbreaking what happened to him."

"I know. Thank you for the kind words."

I held his hand the entire drive home. If I thought before how amazingly patient he was and how he put up with me and all my meltdowns, I had a feeling his level of patience was greater than I have imagined. He stayed calm and kept up with my emotional state which of course made me annoyed with how perfect he was.

Kevin bragged about the expensive champagne he bought, the minute he walked in and showed off. "For you, buddy, only the best."

Shawn had to mock him like jealous baby and grabbed a box of juice. "Shows how much you know. The man doesn't even drink." He dismissed him. "You should've gotten him really expensive water from the alps or something."

"I think HBK is a little jealous." Kevin joked.

"I wish Dally was here." I said as I sat on Hunter's lap. "I miss him."

"Please don't cry." He immediately warned me.

I pouted and Kevin suggested we could Face Time him.

He called him when we all gathered around the table and Hunter smiled as waved at him. Pouring some champagne into his own glass, we were all shocked because when we filled all the glasses we knew there was no point of filling his. When he extended his hand to me and drew me closer to him, I felt how happy he was and that he was going to drink a little, to celebrate. Raising his glass as he wrapped his arm around me, I knew exactly what was about to happen and I started tearing up.

"I'd like to make a toast to the people in this room… and Dally, my best friends, my family. I know I wasn't the easiest guy to deal with in the past few years and I want to say thank you, for everything. Thank you for taking me under your wings 20 years ago and making me better than I ever thought I could be. Thank you for always being my best friends and my brothers. Most importantly, thank you for being there when I needed you the most and putting up with me when I was an absolute nightmare to be around."

"You're welcome, buddy." Kevin raised his glass.

"I'm not done." The man holding my hand chuckled and then smiled at me. "I have 2 announcements to make and I'm going to try and make this quick before this feisty blond start to cry."

They all looked at me and the first to realize what was going on, was Tammy. She gave me a loving smile and I could tell she was getting emotional as well.

"I'm happy to announce…" He smiled. "Yes, Shawn, I said I'm happy, you can close your mouth now. I'm happy to announce that this beautiful feisty blond is pregnant and that if you all thought she was feisty before, you're in for a very exciting ride."

I slapped his chest and covered my face as Tammy and Rebecca practically ran towards me and hugged me. In the corner of my eye, I noticed Shawn was having a hard time keeping it together as Hunter picked Rory up and hugged her. "I'm going to have a little brother or sister!" She called and the guys laughed.

Dally was congratulating us in the background and after we were all done with making me cry, Kevin asked what was the second announcement.

The gorgeous man sat down and smiled as we all remained standing. "I've decided it was time to give the WWE universe a proper farewell so I'm going back. Hopefully I still have one more match in me."

The first one to lock eyes with me was Kevin. He was probably the proudest I have ever seen him since we've met. It's all you. He mouthed at me and smiled. As he high fived Hunter, he gathered me to him and whispered. "You made all of this, blondy."

"It's him, Kev, it's all him."

"I know, but the nudge came from you and he's a big dude, he needed a feisty nudge."

"We all had our part in it. I'm so happy to have met all of you."

"Congrats, blondy, you both deserve this."

After dinner, we were all sitting in the living room together talking when suddenly I noticed Hunter and Shawn go to the back and into his office. The love they had for each other pulled me away from the gang and I found myself curious.

"You didn't cry." I heard Hunter joke. "Thanks to you I lost the bet. I was sure you were going to at least shed a tear or 2."

"You know I can't cry around Kev, he'd make fun of me." Shawn explained. "But I'm really happy for you Hunt, you have no idea." His voice suddenly changed and peeking to see what was going on, I saw Hunter hugging him and realized he was crying, just like Hunter said he would. I rolled my eyes and smiled, thinking about how tough Shawn was and how all the chairs and ladder shots Hunter hit him with didn't break him, but this did.

He smiled when he noticed me peeking and I came in. "See, I told you he'd cry."

Shawn than turned and wiped his tears away quickly. "One word to Kev about this and I…" He threatened.

"Shawnie… you're my BFF. I'm not going to tell on you."

"Come here, you." He said as he hugged me. "I can't believe you have a little Hunter inside your little tummy."

Hunter rolled his eyes and sat down. "She could have a little Renee too."

"God, no. One Renee is enough." Shawn joked. "I want a little Hunter I could take fishing with me. You never go fishing with me. Hunter Jr. will go fishing with me."

"Hunter Jr.?"

"You can call him Shawn if you want." He grinned.

"How about you stop suggesting ridiculous ideas?"

"I can't believe you're having a baby, Renee. This is huge!"

"I know. I'm a little emotional about it too."

"A little? You haven't stopped crying since you got back and now I understand why." He laughed. "Hunter, you know it's only going to get worse, right?"

"I know, just when Rory matured, I have a new baby to deal with in the next 9 months."

"So technically Rory can be her nanny now."

They both laughed at me, but stopped when I got emotional again.

"Shawn, quick, the cheesecake." Hunter ordered him and Shawn immediately ran out. As he sat next to me and gathered me to him, he tried to control his laughter, but it was too hard.

"Why are you making fun of me?" I sniffled.

"Because you're cute, baby."

"I want cake." I pouted as he handed me a tissue.

"I know. Shawn's on it."

Later that night, Rory took my hand as we went upstairs to her room and told me how happy she was about the baby. "Can I help pick the name?"

"Sure, we can all suggest names and pick the one we all like."

"What do you think is better, Reni, a boy or a girl?"

"I think that it doesn't matter because we will love the baby whether it's a boy or a girl."

"What do you think daddy wants?"

"Daddy will probably say the same thing."

"Reni, Cam asked me something today and I didn't know what to tell him."

"Oh god, did he ask you to be his girlfriend? Because I don't think your daddy will like that." I giggled.

"No, gross. I don't want a boyfriend."

"That would make your daddy very happy." I kissed the top of her head. "So what did Cameron ask you?"

"He asked me why I don't call you mom."

"You should've told him that you already have a mom and even though she's not around she will always be your mom."

"You don't mind?"

"Sweetie, I love you very much and I know that you love me too. I want us to be best friends and I want you to know that even though I'm not your real mom, I will always be here for you because you are one of the 2 best things that ever happened to me. So really, it doesn't matter what you call me, as long as you know I will always be here for you no matter what."

"I know that." She hugged me. "And I do love you, very much."

Hunter peeked from behind the door and smiled at us. "I should've known better than to send you to bed with her." He came in and sat down on the bed. "You girls can talk all night."

"Jealous?" I winked.

"No, I just don't want to have problems waking the little princess up in the morning. It's late, baby."

"I know, daddy, but I'm really excited about the baby. Just a little longer, please?"

"Alright, just this once."

"Reni said I can help pick a name for the baby."

"Of course you can."

"Daddy, am I going to have a baby too one day?"

"Oh, boy." He stood up. "I think it's time to go to sleep, Rory."

I started laughing when he scratched his head. "Oh, sweetie. Of course you will, but not for a very…" He gave me a hard stare. "Very, very… very long time."

"Do I need a boyfriend to have a baby?"

Hunter was turning red and perplexed which made it all the more funny. "No, sweetie, you have to be married first."

"But you are not married." She said as she looked at her dad for answers.

"But we will be." I giggled. "Right daddy? Before the baby is born."

"Right." He said as he helped me up from the bed and covered Rory quickly. "Time for bed, baby. Sweet dreams." He kissed he forehead.

I couldn't stop smiling seeing how anxious he was to get out of there. Right before he turned the lights out, the sweet little angel in the bed nearly whispered his name. "Daddy?"

"Yes, baby." He turned to look at her smiling face.

"I love you and Reni from here to the moon."

"We love you too, baby, from here to the moon."

We turned the light out and just like always, he left a small gap at the door for the light from the hall to come in the room. "I love that you do that." I whispered as we made our way to the bedroom.

"Damn it." He fired as he closed the door. "I hate that she's getting smart!"

"Oh, honey." I wrapped my arms around his waist and smiled at him. "You can't do anything about it."

"I can put her in religious school. I approve marrying God."

"No you won't. All you can do is show her how a woman should be treated. That way, she will know who to pick."

"You don't have to suck up." He smiled wickedly. "I'm already giving you everything you want."

"Can I get some cuddles?"

"You're going to cry again, aren't you?" He asked as he tiredly rubbed his face. "Should I get the cheesecake?"

"What was in that cheesecake, honey? Was it just the emotional me or was it exceptionally good?"

"It was. I thought so too. It's from that place Tammy gets cakes."

"How much do you love me, baby?" I asked as I snuggled into him.

"Oh gees, I'll stop by on my way back from Rory's school in the morning and get you some more cake."

"But…"

"I'll get you options, not just cheesecake." He cut me off.

"You're too good to me…" I felt the waterworks starting to come out. "I just can't…"

"Oh gees…"
