"This is a beautiful room." Ginger remarked looking around the spacious family room with cream colored carpet and a huge white marble fireplace and mantle. The walls were painted a dark brown and their were various framed pictures on the wall. The furniture was chocolate brown and cream colored. There was a window looking out outside with framed with off white curtains.

"Thank you." Sandra smiled. "This was always our favorite room in the house. Lots of holidays spent in here."

Ginger noticed a picture on the wall. "Is this Roy and Matthew's father?"

"Yes it is. That's Roy Sr." Sandra replied.

The movie star nodded. "He was handsome. I can see where my Roy got his good looks."

"He was very handsome." Mrs. Hinkley agreed. "A very kind and loving man. So much into exploring and science. He was so proud when our son followed in his footsteps. I always knew that would happen. Roy was very bright even as a small child. He excelled in school and graduated valedictorian. His speech was dedicated to his father. It was so moving."

"Roy was the brilliant one on the island." Ginger remarked. "I don't know what we would have done without him. I know I couldn't have survived without his calm and cool head."

"I see." Sandra said looking at the redhead. "Tell me…how did you and my son..how did it happen?"

Ginger sighed and turned to face her. "Well I knew I loved him the moment I saw him on the Minnow. I told him I was just hit by the thunderbolt. There was just something about him…I was in love."

"Was it the same for Roy?"

"I think so but we were both just…we were too afraid to let the other know how we felt. I thought he would sure to think that my attraction to him was not serious. I thought he would dismiss my feelings as I was just settling for what was available to me. There were only three single men. Gilligan, who is married to Mary Ann. By the way Mary Ann is a sweetheart. I hope you can meet her sometime. And Gilligan is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Anyway there was also the Skipper. He is a dear sweet man but I was never attracted to him in the least. I wasn't attracted to Gilligan either. Like I said both are wonderful men but they were not for me. Roy was the one for me and I was scared he was going to say I would feel different once I was back in Hollywood if we got rescued. Roy was shy about love."

"Because of Lorna." Sandra said sadly. "I know. She really hurt him."

"She was cruel." Ginger frowned. "Roy told me all about it and I can't believe she would act in such a manner. It is was caused Roy to not be able to tell me he loved me right away. He said it was because he was clueless about love but I am thinking there is more to this. I read his journal earlier and the entries in it stated very clear he was in love with me and he knew it."

"He was probably afraid." Sandra explained. "Afraid to say I love you out of fear. The last woman he said I love you too rejected him. Most likely he was being extra cautious and making sure that you really truly were in love with him before he said those words. Plus I think he convinced himself that he was clueless. When Lorna rejected him, he thought it was something he did. That he pulled the trigger on the I love you too soon. More than likely Roy thought that maybe he confused love and lust and that is why Lorna pushed him away. The girls in his class liked him but he always needed a scientific reason behind love and never found one. I tried to explain to him it wasn't always going to be scientific but he insisted he had to be."

Ginger smiled. "That sounds like my Roy. I had a feeling that Lorna must have really done a number on him. Maybe he thought the same with me. I am guessing he had probably analyzed it like he does with everything. He thought it wasn't love, it was lust and that I would believe he just lusted for me and would turn him away and that is why it was hard for him to say I love you."

"I suppose it was difficult for you that he wouldn't say the words right away."

"It was but I was not about to let him get away. I just let him take the time he needed. I didn't push him. I did know that he was trying the best he could. Eventually he came around and said the words to me. It made me so happy. I know he loves me. I couldn't ask for a better husband than my darling Roy." Ginger said with a smile. "He's so much better than those louses in Hollywood. Especially that jerk Ty."

"Ty?"

"I dated this man in Hollywood named Ty Castor. He was some big shot. I thought he was cute and that he cared about me. I came home one day and found him in bed with another girl."

"How awful!" Sandra exclaimed.

"It was. And he didn't even care that I caught him. I couldn't believe how stupid I was. I suppose that could be why I never wanted to get serious about anyone. Plus my ex-friend/roommate Debbie. She used to steal guys from me. Some "friend" she was. In a way I think being on that island was a blessing. I got to meet my darling Roy and plus I made a terrific friend in Mary Ann. She's younger than I am but she's a doll. She's like a younger sister. A great cook and a whiz with a needle and thread. Gilligan loved her pies. She's a master with pies. Especially coconut cream. Gilligan's favorite. That and I met two wonderful people with Mr. and Mrs. Howell. They were like second parents to me. Skipper was very brave and cared about all of us. Always making sure we were comfortable. I got to meet six wonderful people who became like family to me. Well seven if you count Alice. Living on the island was rough but sometimes it was actually pretty nice."

"Well I'm glad you met my son. I can see how much you love him. And how he loves you. Let me tell you, Roy was never one for showing any public display of affection. He cringed from it. I can see you changed that."

Ginger grinned thinking about the times on the island when she would passionately kiss the Professor at the communal table not caring if the others were around. He never protested or asked that she cease her actions. "I suppose so." She replied. "Roy always enjoyed us being together on the island. You know they used to call us the Make Out King and Queen." She giggled.

"My son a Make Out King?" Sandra laughed. "Oh my you really did bring a new side out in him."

"What can I say? He finds me irresistible."

"I bet." Sandra said shaking her head. "Well come on…your majesty…let me show you the rest of our home."

Living Room

"So tell me, how did it happen? How did you manage to snag her?" Matthew asked.

"I'll be honest I haven't the slightest idea. Ginger just took a liking to me from the beginning. I will admit that I was unsure. I knew I loved her but I..I was afraid that maybe I was confusing love and lust. She is a beautiful woman and most men would…you know…lust for her."

"You still carrying that baggage from Lorna?"

"Not anymore." Roy replied. "I learned that Ginger is nothing like her. Ginger loves me and cares about me. She actually is interested in the things I like."

"Wait.." Matthew said. "You mean to tell me she thinks ferns are…she likes ferns?"

"Yes." Roy said nodding. "She does. I told her about them and she thought it was interesting. I told her a lot of things on the island about the animals and plants. Ginger was intrigued by it all. Believe me, it surprised me but it's true. It was nice to be able to talk to her about those things. I found a fern that was bioluminescent. She thought it was beautiful and I dug it up for her. Ginger loved it and she took great care of it. So much she had it brought back to the States with us. It's currently in the care of her sister. Well actually two of them are. I found another one. Ginger adores them."

"Wow. Well she is definitely a keeper all right. You will never find another woman who is not only gorgeous but had interest in ferns. Does she know you were writing a book about them?"

"She does and she read some of it. Ginger said she could not wait for it to be published. She is convinced it will end up on a best seller list. I told her not to get her hopes up as that it is more of a science book but she likes to think of it as more. As if every household in America will have the book on their shelf."

Matthew laughed. "I doubt it but it's nice she wants to believe that. Maybe your kid will take after her. What do you think?"

Roy smiled. "I would like for Ambrosia to be just like Ginger. I had hoped…"

"Hoped what?"

"There is something that I hadn't told you or Mom. Ginger had been pregnant before."

"Had been? What do you mean?" Matthew asked.

"She lost the baby." Roy replied. "It was devastating for her. For me too I must say. Ginger was convinced it was a girl as well. She named her Kimberly Rose after her mother and her grandmother. It took a long time for us to move past it. You see Mary Ann and Gilligan were married on the island and they had a baby. A son named Jonas. Now Ginger and I both think the world of the little boy but it was difficult for us to see them all together. When we found out that she was pregnant with Ambrosia, it helped ease the pain. Yes I know it is premature for us to say it's a girl but Ginger is quite confident the baby is female and won't hear another word about it."

"Wow I had no idea…I'm sorry man. Really. I'm glad that you did try again and now are having another child."

"It wasn't easy. Ginger was hesitant about it. She was terrified of losing the baby again and refrained from…she didn't mean to. It was just going to take time for her to overcome that fear. Eventually we worked it out. I came up with a schedule to revolve around her fertile period and it seemed to help."

"I'm glad. I know you guys will be great parents. Ginger is a great gal. I just met her but she is spunky and firey that's for sure."

"She is. Just be careful though. Don't push her too much or I guarantee you will be sorry. You don't want to test her hot temper."

"Oh come on, how bad can it be?"

Roy shook his head. "Don't say I didn't warn you. That's all I'm saying."

Study

"This is where the boys did their homework most of the time. As you can see it's pretty big and there was enough room for two desks. They also hung out with their friends in here. It was more of their room than an actual study at the time. I changed it up since they moved out."

"It's very nice." Ginger said. "I can't wait till this one is born." She said placing her hand on her midsection. "I can just see Roy patiently helping our daughter with her homework."

"You are convinced it is a girl aren't you?"

"I know it is." Ginger stated. "God is giving me another daughter."

"Another daughter? I don't understand. I thought you didn't have any children." Sandra said confused.

Ginger sighed. "Roy and I…we were pregnant before. It was when we were on the island. I found out I was pregnant and then just like that…I lost the baby. I named her Kimberly Rose. After my mother and grandmother."

"Oh honey I'm so sorry." Sandra said sympathetically. "I had no idea.."

"I know that baby was a girl. There is no question in my mind. She's in Heaven now. With Jesus and all the angels. God gave another baby girl. I just know He did. I can't explain it."

"Trust me I know what you mean. I knew my two babies were going to be boys. I just had that feeling. My husband thought I was crazy but I told him both times that it's a boy. Which suited me just fine. I always wanted to have sons. Yes sometimes I did want a daughter but mostly I was happy with my two boys. I have to say they used to drive me crazy with their back and forth. Matthew had a way and still has a way of pressing Roy's buttons. It's just his personality. I swear I do not know where he gets it from. Probably from my husband's side." She quipped. "His mother is a bit eccentric but a sweet woman. We always got a long. Never had that mother in law/daughter in law rivalry. I always hated the idea of that."

"Me too." Ginger said. "I have to admit I was nervous about dinner. I didn't want to do anything to make you not like me. My family is very close and I wanted it to be the same for us."

"Ginger I think you are a very kind and sweet woman. You are just what that son of mine needs. I couldn't ask for a better match for Roy than you."

Later that evening

"Dinner was wonderful." Ginger said placing her napkin down. "That's was a terrific meal Sandra."

"I'm glad you liked it." She smiled clearing the dishes.

"Oh no you don't need to do that." Ginger said standing up. "Let me…"

"No No." Sandra said waving her off. "You sit. I'll clean up. I don't mind. Really. You are a guest in my home. I'm not asking you to do anything."

Ginger smiled. "Alright then." She said sitting down.

Sandra looked at her two boys. "You two on the other hand, you help your mother."

"Yes Ma'am" They both said as they rose from their chairs and carried the dishes into the kitchen.

Sandra looked at her younger son. "She's a doll Roy. I love her. You did good."

"Thanks Mom." He said. "Ginger was nervous but I told her that everything would be fine. I told her not to worry."

"She had nothing to worry about." Mrs. Hinkley said as she placed the dishes in the sink. "Ginger is an angel. A sweetheart. I adore her."

"I have to say she is quite feisty." Matthew said rubbing his face where Ginger had smacked him quite hard for making a comment to his brother about how he was surprised he managed to knock up Ginger, he didn't think he knew what to do with a girl. The movie star was none too happy with this and wailed him good.

"I told you." Roy said. "I warned you not to push it."

"Lesson learned." The older brother grumbled. "In all seriousness, I think Ginger is great and I am happy for you. I hope someday I can be that lucky."

Later on as promised, the Professor showed Ginger his old bedroom. His science trophies were still there along with some of his books. Sandra didn't have the heart to change either of her son's rooms. She did get rid of some junk but kept most of the important stuff. Ginger was sitting on the bed looking through his old yearbook. "Darling where is that stupid Peggy girl. I want to see what she looks like. You know that one who tried to kiss you and failed. I bet she was ugly." The Professor smiled at his wife and sat down next to her. He turned a few pages and located the picture of the young lady. "There is she. Peggy Baxter."

Ginger frowned. "I was right. She was quite ugly. And ditzy looking. I bet she was ditzy too. Was she ditzy? She had to be if she didn't appreciate your brilliance."

Roy put his arm around his wife and kissed the top of her head. "Jealous are you?"

"I'm not jealous." Ginger snapped. "I'm just saying she most certainly was not all that." She leafed through more pages and smiled when she came across a certain picture. "Oh darling you were so cute!" She said gushing over his picture with the chess club. "I so would have dated you. You look so handsome in that jacket and tie. I bet you were a state champion chess player."

"I was." The Professor replied. "Two years running I may add."

Ginger put the book down. "I wish I went to your high school. We could have been boyfriend and girlfriend and gotten married. Certainly better than those jerks in my school. They all wanted one thing. Well they didn't get it. Not from me anyway. Darling would you have gone out with me if I went to your school?"

"I don't think I would have had a choice." He said. "You would have chased me all over the school and backed me against every locker kissing me until I caved."

Ginger giggled. "Not every locker." She said kissing his lips. "Just yours. I would have met you at your locker every morning until you just could not resist me anymore."

The Professor gathered her in his arms and kissed her lips. The pair was interrupted by Matthew standing there with a grin. "Wow. Finally got a girl in here did you?"

"Get out." The Professor said tossing a pillow at him. "Get out."

Matthew laughed and took off chanting "Roy and Ginger…sittin in a tree…k-i-s-s-i-n-g-"

Ginger got up and stood in the doorway shouting. "You want the other side of that face smacked?" She turned and shut the door hard. "How you did you put up with him?" She asked sitting back down.

"Patience and a lot of telling his dates about how he slept with a nightlight until he was 12."

The redhead giggled. "He didn't…"

"Well not exactly twelve but close enough." Roy smiled. "Now where…were we…" He said taking hold of her again.

Professor's Home

Ginger awoke at two in the morning not really having slept all that well. Usually after making love with Roy, she was able to fall asleep snuggled up against him. This time was not the case. Something was bothering her. Those journal entries. Saying he was in love with her and then him telling her that he was clueless about love. Ginger thought about what she and Sandra talked about. It made sense but still…She got up from the bed and crept over to the desk picking up the journal. She looked over seeing her husband still asleep. She opened the book and began to read.

I'm not sure what is happening but Ginger and I are getting closer every day.
For one reason or another we just end up spending all our time together. Mary Ann had stated she had packed a picnic lunch for the Howells but Mr. Howell fell ill and she offered it to Ginger and I. She claimed that Gilligan was busy helping Skipper with something and she needed to aid Mrs. Howell in helping take care of Mr. Howell.
I found this a bit odd but it was nice to be able to be with Ginger. I know I have stated I love her but now I think I am doubting myself.

Ginger raised her eyebrows. Doubting himself? She continued on.

Ginger is a beautiful glamorous movie star. I'm just a professor. I don't foresee how we could have anything in common. Although I have to admit, she does show interest in science. But is it real interest or fake interest. I have no way of knowing. Is she putting on an act or does she really care?

The movie star could not believe what she read! How could he think such a thing!

She found another entry.

It is quite difficult for me to ascertain whether or not my feelings for Ginger are actually love or lust. I have a strong physical attraction to her. I am human. I have those urges others have. I can't help it. When I see her I wish to make passionate love to her. But my experience in the past leads me to wonder if this is really love. I told Ginger that I am clueless when it comes to love that I never found a scientific reason for it. While this is true, there is more to it that I haven't told her. I have not mentioned to her about Lorna and how I clearly must have confused the two. Love and lust. That has to be why she rejected me and I'm afraid that Ginger will do the same.

Do the same! Ginger fumed. How could he think she would do the same! She loved him! She stormed over to the bed and smacked him with the book. This startled him awake and he found a very angry redhead glaring at him. "How could you think that I would reject you! You are so stupid!"

The Professor had no idea what she was talking about. He sat up rubbing his eyes. "Ginger…what is going on? Why did you hit me…Are you reading my journal again?"

"So what!" She exclaimed. "How could you compare me to that Lorna! I'm not Lorna!"

"I know you are not Lorna." He said. "But I will have to ask that you refrain from reading any more of my private journal. What I write is none of your business."

"None of my business!" Ginger shrieked. "You lied to me! You said you were clueless with love and you thought it had to be some science thing. The truth is you were a big coward!"

The Professor was getting angry. "First of all it's two in the morning and I do not wish to have this discussion at this hour. Second, that is my journal in which I write my own private thoughts. It is not for you to read. What I write is my own business. It is nothing you need to concern yourself with. I will have to ask you respect my privacy."

Ginger fumed. "Why did you lie to me!"

"I did not lie!" He shouted. "Now will you please just go back to sleep. I don't have to explain anything to you."

"I'm not going to sleep until you tell me the truth."

The Professor reached his limit. "That's it. I'm going downstairs and sleeping on the couch. I will discuss this with you when you are rational." He stormed out of the bedroom slamming the door behind him.

Ginger was left on the bed with the journal. Tears came to her eyes. She hated when he got mad at her which was very rare but still she hated it. She had not meant to invade his privacy and read his journal. She shouldn't have and she knows it. He is right. It was not for her to read. Feeling horrible, Ginger made her way down the stairs to the living room where the Professor had taken his pillow and blanket and settled in to go to sleep.

"Darling.." She said climbing in the couch with him.

"No..Ginger…you are not…" He said trying to prevent her from kissing him which he knew was pointless. Her lips went to his ear and he knew he was not going to win this battle. Whenever her lips went to his ear, he knew he was a goner. He had no strength to resist her.

"I'm sorry darling." Ginger said tearfully. "I'm so sorry. I swear I will never read your journal again." She then wrapped her arms around him. "Please don't leave me."

"Ginger." He sighed holding her. "I'm not going to leave you."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

"You angry at me?"

"No..I'm not angry at you. I'm sorry I yelled at you."

"I'm sorry I read your journal."

"It's alright." The Professor said kissing the top of her head. "I know you didn't mean to. Ginger I'm sorry if what I wrote hurt you. I was confused. I believed I loved you but then my doubts set in and I questioned everything. I know now how stupid I was to ever doubt my love for you. It is real. It's not lust. It's love. I love you and everything about you. Yes Lorna did hurt me a great deal. Before I met you, she was the only woman I had cared for. I thought for sure she felt the same way but I was wrong. I never told you this but after she pushed me away and said my kiss was terrible….she added that kisses out of lust are always lousy."

"What?"

"That's what she said. She believed that my feelings were just lust. I am guessing because we had spent so much time together on different things, that she believed that I was just lusting after her because we had science in common. That I just wanted to add a physical aspect to our relationship out of pure lust. That is why I began to question everything with you. I didn't want you to think that I didn't actually love you that it was nothing but..well you know…that is was only physical and that's all I wanted. I was being truthful when I said I was clueless with love. I was. Because of my experience in my past, I had no clue and I just had to question and analyze it all. My love believe me when I say I know I was being rather ridiculous. I learned that I actually do love you and what I feel for you is real. Not fake. Not just physical. It's more."

Ginger smiled. "I know. I never believed you would think of me as just some sex object. You wouldn't do that. I love you Roy. I will always love you. And I am sorry I read your journal. I promise I will never do that again. I will respect your privacy. I'm sorry darling. I really am."

"Let's forget about it." He said. "Come on. Let's go back upstairs…"

The starlet grinned. "Actually I'm rather comfortable right here." She began kissing his lips. "And we had a fight….we need to have the make-up sex…"

"I was hoping we could do that upstairs…"

"No. I want you here. Right here. Right now."

The Professor wrapped her up in his arms as they made passionate love while the light of the moon shined through the window.
