Chapter 51: Captured Bull
Zeron sighed as he stepped in front of the shop, an unconscious Yumichika in his arms.
"You need to crawl before you can walk," he sighed. "Bankai first, then Resurreccion."
He looked up and saw Zaya was standing there, looking upset.
And when Zaya was upset, you knew it was bad.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Onairo was a distraction," she said. "It's probably the first time anyone's been able to outsmart me in three thousand years. I wonder if it was his idea, or Aizen's. If it's the latter, then I've really lost my touch."
"What happened?"
She sighed, and fixed dark green eyes on him.
"They took Ylfordt."
…
Ylfordt was fixed with a spirit-restraining collar, and his Zanpakuto had been taken from him.
He sat in the room that would act as his prison, Delgato and the one called Oriano with him, keeping guard.
So naturally, he sat in a corner as far away as possible from the Sinner.
"We're not going to let any of the Diablos help you escape, like they did with your brother," Delgato said.
"What do you even want with me, anyway?" Ylfordt asked.
"You're bait," Delgato said. "Your brother knows how to work the machine, and we're going to make sure he comes."
"How are you so sure he will?"
Delgato smirked, stepping closer to the Arrancar. Ylfordt tried to back up, but he was already in a corner. There was nowhere for him to go. The Sinner crouched down so that he was level with the blonde.
"Because you're without protection, and you're here with me," Delgato said. "He'll come, whether he likes it or not. We don't care if he brings others with him. We want him, and he'll come."
"Then there's the fact that you're valuable to the Diablos," Oriano interrupted. "I can sense it. You're a semi-Void. They won't leave you alone with me, either."
Ylfordt looked towards the one completely clad in white, and his eyes widened.
"You're the Demon," he whispered.
Delgato chuckled and grabbed Ylfordt's mask at the horn. The Arrancar cringed at this.
"The Diablos won't save you either," Delgato said. "So I suggest you make yourself comfortable."
"You know, Delgato," Oriano said, "I think I have something that will make this fun for the both of us."
Delgato looked at him intrigued, and Ylfordt looked worried. Oriano tore off a piece of the bed sheet and gave the cloth to Delgato. The Sinner understood and tied it around the blonde's head at mouth level, creating a gag.
And Ylfordt felt his blood run cold, terror intensifying. Why would they need a gag?
"Excellent," Oriano said.
And then it started. Memories flooded his mind, and he remembered what Leva told them about what the Demon could do.
He started to relive every horrible memory, and soon it wasn't just emotional pain he was feeling, but physical as well.
And he screamed.
…
Nagina paced restlessly outside of Ylfordt's prison room.
Since Onairo was inside, she couldn't risk it. He would be able to tell that she was there, and he would do to her what he was no doubt doing to Ylfordt.
But again, Ylfordt didn't have a life as bad as she had. She knew that if she got too close, she would be vulnerable, and since Demons had the power to kill the Diablos, she couldn't risk being vulnerable.
If even one of the Diablos is killed, or even critically injured, then the barrier of Hell would be completely weakened, and more of them would be able to escape.
And that is the only reason why the Diablos refuse to die.
…
Grimmjow and Szayelapporro were both tense. They were trying to get Leva to help Ylfordt, but she tried to explain that she wasn't completely sure where he was.
That was a lie. She knew he was in Heuco Mundo, but they needed a solution first. They couldn't simply go there without a plan, especially with a Demon there.
She also knew that Ylfordt would most likely be kept as bait to lure Szayelapporro to Las Noches.
Aizen had used Ylfordt to get the former octava to cooperate with him the first time. And there's a good chance that that was what they were doing again.
She looked up when the door to the shop opened, and she saw Zeron stepping in with an unconscious Yumichika.
"What happened?" Nnoitra demanded, immediately moving to tower over the Diablos.
Zeron looked up at him with a bored look.
"He tried to do something before he was ready to do it," he explained calmly. "He'll be okay, as long as he sleeps it off."
Nnoitra relaxed slightly, but still looked wary.
"Ylfordt's gone," Szayelapporro said.
"Zaya told me," he said. "We'll need to set up barriers against Demons."
"A little late for that, don't you think?" Grimmjow snapped.
Zeron fixed him with a cold look.
"Ylfordt is an ally of the Diablos," he said. "We won't let him die, if that's what you're thinking. And if Onairo does something, we will help him recover."
"I'm starting to lose faith in you Diablos," Ikkaku said.
Zeron sighed, and he carried the fifth seat towards his room and lay him down on his futon.
"We need to make a plan."
"I know," Zaya's voice echoed in his mind. "I will."
…
Delgato looked down at the unconscious Arrancar, a huge smirk on his face.
"What exactly did you do to him?" he asked the Demon.
"I let him relive all his horrible memories from when he was alive," Oriano said. "I can turn emotional pain into physical pain. And I must say, you did an excellent job with torturing him."
"Why thank you," the Sinner said. "Can you do it with anyone?"
"Of course. But Voids are more fun. They are born from emotional pain and suffering."
"And the Diablos are Voids. I'd like to see them scream in pain."
"If they come, then believe me, you will."
…
Baro was restless. He and Nagina had communicated between each other, and both of them remembered one thing, other than Zaya, that could counter Onairo.
They just didn't want Zaya to find out that they resorted to such drastic measures.
…
Kivara grinned. Baro had just shared the plan that he and Nagina concocted, and she really liked this plan.
As long as the three oldest members don't find out.
…
Rith shook his head. While it was a good idea, it would be extremely risky. They would have to do it before Onairo grows wise to their actions, and attempts to stop them.
Well, it would prove to be a great solution for Aizen as well. As long as they got Ylfordt out before it was too late to do so.
Otherwise they would definitely hear from Zaya.
…
"Why do I get the feeling that something drastic would happen?" Leva asked Zeron.
He frowned. He felt the same thing, but received no vision.
"I guess we'll have to find out," he said.
…
Nagina smirked as she walked into Aizen's throne room. The Arrancars and Sinners that had nothing to do were all standing or sitting around in there.
Aizen's grown a little paranoid.
As soon as she was in the centre of the room she waited.
She entered Shadowspeed, and she waited until Kivara was standing next to her.
With them moving at a speed where time appears to stand still, they had a clear advantage.
Both Diablos withdrew their swords, before they shared a glance, nodding their heads.
"Seduce, Lilith."
"Incinerate, Amon."
"Resurreccion, Tercera Etapa!"
…
Rith and Baro stood outside. They could feel what has occurred, and they shook their heads in both amusement and exasperation.
"You know Zaya's going to be mad at us," Rith said.
"She'll get over it, eventually," Baro said.
The two withdrew their swords.
"Take what you can, Mammon!"
"Consume, Beelzebub!"
"Resurreccion, Tercera Etapa!"
…
The two watched as the unconscious Arrancar shifted in his sleep, his eyelids twitching from the nightmares he was forced to relive.
When the entire Las Noches shook, Delgato was sent sprawling on the ground, and Oriano turned his attention to the door, looking nervous.
"Well then," he said, his voice monotone. "It would seem the Diablos decided to become Demons themselves."
"What do you mean?" Delgato asked.
"They released their true beast form. Their third release."
"Is that bad?"
"It was used for large battles. Yes, that's bad. They could destroy the entire fortress." His eyes widened. "And with it, the machine!"
…
Zaya's eyes widened, before narrowing.
They should really learn that she knew what they were going to do at all times. It was impossible for them to surprise her.
But the least they could do was ask permission, or at the very least let a smaller amount of power escape.
…
They were all startled by a huge rumble. Aizen grabbed onto the throne, trying hard to stay seated.
His eyes widened when he saw the cause of the sudden quake. It was hard to miss two beasts suddenly appearing in his throne room.
But he could feel nothing. No spiritual pressure.
The first beast was about the size of an Adjuccas. It was serpentine, and had emerald and amethyst coloured scales. It had the upper body of a woman, with lilac-coloured snakes for hair, writhing atop its head. It had sharp green eyes, the slitted pupils directed at him. It also had large black wings behind her.
The other beast was a lot larger. It looked like a dragon, the scales varying between pitch black and blood red. And it was huge. Aizen realised that his throne room was too small. The walls were crushed, and the roof came tumbling down. The dragon was at least three times the size of a Gillian.
The serpent fixed her attention on Aizen before she turned it to Gweedix.
"Are you prepared for the next rematch, piggy?" the serpent taunted.
Aizen's eyes widened. He recognised that voice. He heard it once, and that was when he first heard of them.
Diablos.
"What are you?" Tosen asked.
"Abominations," the dragon answered. "Wrath and Lust at its finest."
"And it's time to end this," the serpent said.
…
Karuno's eyes widened, and he chuckled.
"Is something funny?" Eden asked.
"Tell me, have any of you seen the third Resurreccions of the Diablos?" Karuno replied. "Because right now, Aizen is seeing what they're capable of."
"Really?"
"This I've got to see."
…
While Nagina and Kivara were attacking Las Noches from the inside, Baro and Rith struck from the outside.
Rith was now a large gargoyle-like creature. He had large, black wings, and his entire body was black, save for his golden claws and golden eyes. He was around three times the size of a Gillian.
Baro, on the other hand, was a salamander, around the same size as a Gillian. His scales were pitch black, and his eyes burned like lightning ready to strike.
The two released their ceros, destroying part of the outer walls.
It was one way to get rid of the white.
…
Oriano snarled before he turned his attention to Delgato.
"Bring him," the Demon ordered. "The Diablos won't harm him. He's too useful for them."
The Sinner nodded and turned to gather the Arrancar in his arms, but he stopped when he heard the wet sound of a blade cutting through flesh.
He turned back and saw the Diablos of Pride, Zaya, with her black sword through the Demon's chest.
She pulled back the sword, pushing the Demon aside, and stepped closer to the Sinner, her eyes narrowed.
"I will deal with you another time," she said, using her spiritual pressure to push the Sinner aside.
She then picked up Ylfordt, looking as gentle as a mother.
"Don't think this is over, Zaya," Onairo said.
She turned to him.
"Of course not," she said. "If I thought you would go down easily, I would have killed you a long time ago."
And she disappeared, Ylfordt in her arms.
…
Yumichika was in his inner world, his Void and Zanpakuto close by.
"What did we do wrong?" Yumichika asked.
"You did something you were not ready for," a familiar voice replied.
The three turned to see a familiar form.
"Zaya," the Void greeted. "What are you doing here?"
"I've come to make you an offer."
…
When Nnoitra went to check on Yumichika, he almost screamed in frustration.
Yumichika was gone.
