THIS IS THE LAST KH4 EPILOGUE!

Now, some of you know my plan.

There is a secret ending to this, but I don't post them until the first chapter of the sequel. I will not be posting the sequel for a while. This is the plan: I have 3 stories I have not updated in forever. I am going to update them first before I post Kh5 and this secret ending.

Now, this will have some references to information that will be revealed towards the end of the KH3 rewrite.

I love you guys!

Chapter 42: Kumo Epilogue

Sora leaned back in his office chair, sighing contentedly. His eyes traced old water damage lines on the ceiling as he thought about all that had happened. Xehanort had tried once again to destroy him, and now he'd gone after his family, but he was gone, Sora was certain of it.

Sora had gone back to his job in the police department, Kairi continued writing, and the twins went back to school. Everything was as it should have been, at least for them. In the other worlds, things had been crazy: Ven and Riku were now kings of their own worlds, Blaze became a superhero or something like that, and Roxas was opening a children's home for young Nobodies. Sora was excited for them, but he liked the fact that nothing had changed since they'd returned home.

The phone on his desk rang, and as soon as Sora saw the caller ID, he shook his head. Things really were back to normal; here was the principal calling him again, probably about Patria. The man answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Pith, I'm the one who's supposed to get in trouble for stuff like this, not you." Patria crossed her arms, huffing.

Her twin stared out at the ocean, eyes dim and distant. "Whatever, Tria…"

"Ok, that's my line. Like, that's what I am supposed to say when you get on to me for doing something stupid and mean." The girl grabbed his arm. "You yelled at that girl and threw something at her… that's not like you, not at all."

Pith pulled away, storming home with Patria following behind. The boy was not happy to find his parents waiting for him. "Hi…"

"Pith, what happened? It's not at all like you to try and hurt someone."

"Look, I just lost my temper, and I told her I was sorry!"

Kairi frowned, but she didn't look angry. "Son, what's going on?"

"Nothing…" The boy pushed past them, going upstairs to his bedroom. They could all hear his door slam and the lock turn, and for good measure, they heard him shove a chair against the door.

Sora sighed. "I think I know what's wrong."

"We all do, Dad." His daughter chomped the tip off of a banana. "It's Briana. He was in love with her, and she took his heart, smashed it, stepped on it, and rubbed it in. I saw what happened. Pith was trying to work on something for his upcoming audition and that brat, Kasih, would not stop flirting with him. She practically sat in his lap until he pushed her away."

"Oh, I see."

Patria slumped into a chair, still eating. "She didn't stop there. She told him to stop hanging on to Briana, and that Briana was never coming back. That's when he yelled at her and threw the book at her."

The parents looked at each other, a knowing look passing between them. "We'll talk to him."

Kairi managed to open her son's door, finding the boy writing vigorously. "Pith? May I come in."

"Sure…"

The princess came inside, sitting down on his bed. "Patria told us what happened. I'm sorry, son."

"I never want to fall in love again." Pith laid his head down on his desk, tears brimming in his eyes.

"You don't really mean that."

"I do!" He looked at her. "You and Dad were in love for a long time. I found that someone. I loved her with everything I had, and she destroyed it. Your love story ended well, and mine fell apart."

Kairi patted the bed beside her, and Pith came over. Her mothering embrace enveloped him. "Son, you may have a slightly skewed view of love. Your dad and I had a special relationship, pulled together by light and magic. Most relationships don't go as smoothly as ours did." She gently kissed his forehead. "Pith, heartbreak hurts, but you can't let it stop you. It's alright if you want to take a break from relationships to gather yourself and figure out what you want to do and what you want in a relationship, but don't swear off love. That will hurt you more than help you."

"Thanks, Mom…" The boy kept his eyes locked on the floor and Kairi wondered if he'd really heard her.

"Are you certain this is the right thing to do?"

"It will be best for all of them." Sora checked his watch, waiting for the kids to come downstairs. "Doctor, thanks for coming on such short notice."

A man and woman sat at the dining table; the man had graying hair with woman had golden hair. The man smiled. "It's no trouble. I owe you both, so I'm glad to help in any way I can."

"And I look forward to meeting the twins and helping them as well."

With the pounding of feet on the stairs, the twins came down, quickly noticing the two guests. "What are they doing here?"

"Patria, Pith," Sora smiled. "I believe you know the island's chief psychiatrist, Dr. Areth Himitsu and his daughter, Owari."

"Isn't she supposed to be our chemistry teacher next year?"

"That's right!" Owari smiled.

"Again I ask, what are they doing here?"

Kairi and Sora sat down at the table and gestured for their children to do the same. "Well, we called in an old favor. Pith, you've been dealing with heartbreak and other issues that stem from that, and Patria, you've just had anger issues for years." The twins looked at each other, both remembering the darkness within Patria, but still choosing to keep it secret. "So, Dr. Areth has generously agreed to help you both for no charge."

"Wait! You guys want us to let him examine our heads?"

The psychiatrist adjusted his glasses. "In a manner of speaking, yes. I'm going to help you identify and deal with the issues you're both struggling with. I know if doesn't sound appealing at first, but you may be grateful for it later on."

"Well," Pith shrugged. "I wouldn't mind it. Maybe it will help me."

Patria groaned, "But I really don't want someone analyzing my head."

"Don't worry," the doctor smiled. "I will do everything I can to make you feel comfortable. I'm just here to help."

"…fine."

Sora grinned. "Great! We'll figure out times later, but Areth, Owari, there is something we need to tell you."

"What is it?"

"It's… about your family…"

"Ugh!" Patria pulled the covers over her head. "I can't believe this! Why didn't they tell us!?" The girl grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. When she finally calmed down, her eyes closed and she sighed. "Well, nothing I can do about it now."

As sleep took her, carrying her off into the clutches of dreams. Suddenly this peaceful momentum came to a halt and a familiar deep voice reverberated in her dreams. "And here you are. Now, my dear, remember our deal?"

"You!?" Patria knew that voice. The one who saved her and her brother… and the one she made a deal with. "Oh, yeah… the deal. Well, thanks but no thanks. I was kinda lying about the deal, so you're not getting a hold of my heart."

The voice lay silent. "Foolish child. If you really think I'll let you back out of our deal, then you will learn the hard way."

Patria suddenly felt her heart clench. The dark force that suddenly jolted her from her dreams. She sat up in bed, clutching her chest. Darkness writhed beneath her hands.

"No…" Stumbling out of bed, the girl opened her window and clambered down. Her bare feet moved softly across the sand and grass. She hurried, feeling the darkness swelling up in her chest. She reached a hidden cove, a place that she and her dad would share together. It had always been a safe haven for her.

She collapsed on the cove sand, clutching her chest. After a moment, darkness erupted from the girl. The voice from her dreams growled. "Now you see! I put that darkness inside you! I can make it swell at will, and I can make it leave your body. From there I can control it anyway I want!"

The darkness outside her swirled around, taking the shape of a man. Patria glared at him. "So what!? Just leave me alone!"

"We made a deal." The shadow man paced back and forth. "Give me access to your heart!"

"Go screw yourself!" A jolt of darkness shot through her, driving pain into every nerve in her body.

"I despise the fact that I have to have someone's consent to take over them," the voice sighed. "However, I have many ways of making you open your heart to me."

"NEVER!" Patria snarled.

"I will torment you in life and in your dreams." His hand of darkness, grabbed her chin, and she felt the cold blackness against her skin, causing goosebumps to appear where he touched her. "Until you submit to me, I will torment your dreams. You may sleep, but you will never be restful. I will drive your sanity from you until your will to fight back is no more."

The darkness swirled around her, carrying her into the air. When it faded, the girl found herself back in bed and the darkness dispelling around her. "Just leave me alone!" Patria laid down, closed her eyes, and tried to sleep, hoping to ignore the darkness.

But the warning he'd given her, was real.

Dr. Areth looked up as Patria came into his office. It had been two weeks since he'd set up the meetings with Patria and Pith.

Pith had come for his first meeting and Areth had a good idea about how to help the boy. He asked his daughter to keep an eye on the kids when they were at school.

Patria sat down and the psychiatrist smiled. "Hello, Patria. How are you feeling?"

"Sucky."

"You look like you haven't slept in days."

She slumped backwards. "I've been having night terror and my sleep isn't what it should be."

"I see." The doctor jotted down a note to add that to his list of topics to discuss with her. "Well, since this is your first session with me, we'll make it easy. Just tell me how you've been lately and I'll tell you about how I'm doing."

"Why don't you go first?"

Areth nodded. "Alright. I've been doing fairly well. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about what you and Pith told my daughter and I about our… well, let's just say, I'm sort of counseling myself and Owari. Other than that, everything else is going well. Now, what about you?"

Patria wrung her hands, concocting the best lie she'd ever come up with before she smiled and began to speak.

Sora stared out across the deep ocean, eyes distant and full of thought. A soft hand touched his arm and a gentle kiss dusted his cheek. "Sora, you ok, sweetie?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, Kairi." He put an arm around her and kissed the top of her head.

"Are you worried about the kids?"

"Yeah," he sighed. "I thought we'd put the life of dangerous enemies behind us. Now, we have a maniac even stronger than Xehanort running loose. He brought Xehanort back, had us kidnapped, and made our kids go through so much. Even though whoever that was killed Xehanort again, he is still out there. Braig is out there too."

Kairi leaned against him. "We beat Xehanort and the kids defeated him and this other maniac. I am certain we can defeat him again."

"You're right honey." Sora smiled, eyes staring back out at the sea. The sun had begun it's decent towards the horizon line. The sky changed colors: pink, purple, orange, and then to a deep blood red.

The Keybearer's eyes met the red of the sky and it was as if the sky was telling him that this was not over. Blood would be spilled over this, and Sora steeled his heart, declaring that the blood would not be the blood of his friends and family… he would not allow it, as long as he still lived.

Hope in the Storms

Right now, there is a lot going on in the world. Most of us have probably heard how Texas just had a hard hit from Hurricane Harvey, and Irma has hit Florida and other states.

I used to live in that area down there and I still have many family members, including my younger brother down in that area. Thankfully, they are all alright.

There has been so much loss lately, but there is hope. In every storm that life gives us, whether it be a physical storm or a storm of life, there is hope. While thing may not seem the best right now, God can and will see you through the tough times.

Romans 8:28 reads, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

So, remember, even when things get tough and it seems like everything is going wrong, it will all work out for your good as long as you love God.
