House of Blue Leaves
Somewhere in Tokyo, Japan….
The House of Blue Leaves Bar and Grill was an unusual and eccentric restaurant located in the heart of Tokyo. The interior design and architecture of the restaurant reminded Claire of the Chinese tea houses she would see in old Shaw Brothers films. Underneath the see-through dance floor was the most beautiful Japanese Zen garden Claire had ever seen. The Japanese all girl band was playing music reminiscent of American surf and rockabilly. Although Claire wasn't a fan of the genre, she couldn't help but hum the tune of the last song they played-which she swore she had heard on a Vonage commercial.
Claire took a shot of Johnny walker the bartender poured for her. She noticed him looking at her strangely. Claire figured it was because of the outfit she decided to wear; a black and yellow tracksuit and Onitsuka tiger sneakers or maybe it was because of the samurai sword sitting on the seat adjacent to her.
Claire was watching upstairs dining suite on the second floor.
There was a certain someone she had been watching for some time now.
The door of the suite slid open. A woman with dark hair tied in a high pony tail was talking on her cell phone. She walked down the stairs towards the bathroom.
Claire smiled, Karena Lesproux. Code name; Lupo
Karena Lesproux was the former commander of the wolfpack who now served as personal bodyguards to Ada. The wolf-pack was a the team made up of six umbrella security operatives sent to Raccoon City to destroy evidence incriminating Umbrellla's involvement in the outbreak as well as to assassinate any Umbrella police officers including Leon Kennedy.
Karena was also Ada Wong's second in command.
Claire finished her shot and followed Karena to the bathroom. Ten minutes later, Karena re-emerged. Her confident carefree demeanor was replaced with a nervous, distressed look. A thin line of blood ran from her mouth as she limped slowly across the restaurant just stopping short of the dance floor. She rested her left hand on a wooden pillar for support.
Behind Karena was Claire, the tip of her sword pointed to her back.
"Call out to them" demanded Claire
Karena shook her head and mumbled something unintelligible in French.
"Be that way" Claire spat out
"ADA WONG!" Claire cried above the music and the crowd. Her voice echoed through the restaurant resonating with such force and conviction that it silenced everyone.
"Shoubu wa ma da tsuicha inai yo!"
Claire watched as the door slammed open and the wolf-pack emerged followed by Ada Wong. Ada was dressed in an ornate white Cheongsam with embroidered dragons in gold thread. There was a long slit ran down the side of her left leg. In her hand was an ebony sheath carrying her Shirasaya sword.
Claire slowly revealed herself from behind Karena. Although they were some distance apart, Claire could see Ada scoff at her.
The memory of Leon and Ada kissing in the street flashed in her mind. Claire could feel her anger boiling over.
With one swift move, Claire brought her sword down on Karena's outstretched hand like a hot knife through butter.
Ada and the wolfpack watched helplessly as her limb fell lifeless on the floor. Karena stumbled to the floor shrieking in agony like a crazed animal while oozes of blood squirted from her exposed limb. Ada narrowed her eyes on Claire whose yellow jumpsuit was covered in blood.
Claire watched as Karena writhed on the floor. She was not Claire's target, but it was an eye for an eye and she wanted to make an example out of Karena: Revenge was a dish best served cold and no one—not even God himself—was going to stand in the way of her sword.
"Your move" Claire thought
The wolfpack unsheathed their swords and readied themselves in fighting position.
Claire's eyes didn't leave Ada's as she slowly walked across the dance floor, closing the gap between them. The people in the restaurant rushed past her in a panic to the exit until finally the only people left in the expansive room was Claire and Ada's team of mercenaries. There was a heavy tension in the air disturbed only by Karena's soft cries in the background.
Ada Wong looked unfazed as she dispatched Beltway. He mumbled something in spanish before jumping off the balcony in a perfect dismount and landing on the floor just in front of Claire. He was twice Claire's size; in width and height.
Beltway raised his sword above his head as he came at her. As he struck down Claire swung her sword in an arc breaking Beltway's sword in half and then, using her momentum to turn back around, plunged the sword deep into Beltway's chest. Claire placed her foot on his stomach and pulled the sword free while Beltway's body dropped lifeless to the ground.
Claire gave Ada a smile, "Is that all you got?"
And that was when all hell broke loose.
