A/N: Here I am again! Surprise surprise! I know, shocker that I'd want to sit down and write another chapter after yesterday's nine… ^.^; but you know what? I'm ready to keep going, I think it just goes that the more I write the more I want to write, plus I have the inspiration of a hot shower, bioshock infinite and the two towers sitting just on the other side of this. I ran beer cart tonight at my other work so I'm more than a little freezing…Anywho, I'll shut up now and get on with what you guys are actually following this thing for :p
Disclaimer: dude, I have two jobs and start classes next week, I most certainly don't own this.

Nero groaned as consciousness slowly trickled back into his mind, what had happened? Where was he? The teen looked around to see a cell, a cell with a nice bed and good amenities but a cell none the less. It was then that memories started to flash back, the demons outside Devil May Cry, the sheer numbers that had overwhelmed both himself and Lady.
"Lady?" he called, now worried for the other woman's sake.
"I'm over here." She called out from across the hall, waving from in between the cell bars.
"Are you okay?" he asked
"I'm fine, just some new scrapes and bruises, but nothing that you didn't already know about. How are you holding up?"
"Okay…" the teen replied slowly, rubbing the back of his sore head, something must've hit him really hard… the splitting headache that he'd been doing his best to ignore came back full force at the shriek the emanated from the cell to his left, he turned to see, to his surprise, Kyrie sitting there, staring and pointing at his arm.
"Kyrie?" he asked, now thoroughly confused.
"What happened to you…?" She whispered, "You're just like them… just like the monsters…" Nero felt his face fall at this comment, mostly because she was right in part.
"I…"
"He's not like the monsters that brought you here at all girl." Lady said from her seated position across the hall. "Why would they lock up one of their own? Nero's different but that's no reason to fear him." The partial devil smiled at her words, Lady always had his back.
"But… his arm…"
"Who are you to talk?" Nero asked calmly, sitting down so that he was facing her cell. "When you're brother is no more human than myself?"
"You know my brother?" she asked with wide eyes, Nero was about to respond when men dressed in white uniforms rounded the corner and stood before his cell.
"So this is the half breed's spawn."
"Yup, dude, take a look at that arm!"
"Wow…"
"Alright, let's take him." They approached the cell and Nero prepared to fight, a fact that didn't go unnoticed by the two men.
"If you value the lives of your friends here then you better cooperate." Nero looked between the two and sagged, he could see the disappointment in Lady's face and the partial devil knew she could handle herself but he didn't want to unnecessarily risk the life of his innocent classmate.
-Family of Happenstance-
Fear. He could smell fear. The scent rolled off of the men before him in waves and once more he tugged at the restraints holding him back, letting off a snarl that put even the most intimidating of beasts to shame. He had to find his kin, his little nestling… that's why he was here. He needed to find the nestling and tear apart everything that stood in his way and anything that had dared to look upon his kin in a way that he disapproved of.
Nero wasn't expecting to be led into a room with impressive chains and his father's demonic form held up in the middle of the room. The slayer's eyes locked on him the second he entered the room, his nostrils flaring before he struggled with renewed vigor, snarling and thrashing like a wild animal caught in a trap.
"Dad!" the teen cried, trying to start forward but was held back by the two men who'd led him here to begin with.
"Let him go!" he yelled, struggling against the men's grip but in his exhaustion and weakness they easily held him back.
"It's not as simple as that young one." Came a voice from beyond the other doorway, a second later an old man stepped forward, a superior grin gracing the corners of his lips. This must be that smug, god complex look my dad's always talking about… the teen thought to himself.
"Let him go." he tried again, he was starting to feel some of his energy return, if he could just stall long enough then he could Trigger again and take out his wrath on the men that had caused his family so much suffering…
"I can't do that, you see, we intended to use him to form part of the Savior's core, but his energy is unstable as it is now, so I thought I'd offer you a choice, let us use you, or we'll torture your father until he submits and drops his demonic form." Nero looked over at his father, who was still struggling like no one's business. That look seemed to awaken the man, the human in his father and there was one word that could be made out amongst the snarls and struggles.
"Nero…" the teen closed his eyes and looked back to the old man in front of him.
"Alright."
-Family of Happenstance-
Trish hesitated, she didn't want to bring this family in any farther than they had already been pulled in but she had no other choice, he was their only hope…
A/N: Ahhh… feels good to get back into the cliffhangers… ;p this chapter was intense… at least it was for me, hope you all enjoyed!
