Disruption of Routine
Part 53 Complications
Spock walked along the boardwalk with his associates. He had been pleased that they asked him along. He had begun to feel he could trust these people a little. He was wary of course but not for the reasons one might think. He was wary because he was worried he would be a danger to them. Spock was not a fool he knew he was always going to be a potential target for those that had a grudge against his family or Vulcan and he did not want his fellow cadets drawn in. While he had become part of the alliance he was still worried. He knew that Terra Prime was active once more and he did not want those he cared for harmed because they chose to be with him. He could and would walk alone if it meant keeping those he cared for safe. He had known being alone was going to be his path when he chose to join Star Fleet. He was certain that T'Pring would never join him in his postings. She was Vulcan through and through and saw no point in associating with those of differing bloodlines. While she and her family paid lip service to IDIC it was clear they held those who were not Vulcan in contempt. He knew T'Pring despised his mother and if he was honest he was certain she loathed him as well. However he was Sarek's chosen heir and that position made Spock a desirable mate. He did not look forward to his marriage. Then again maybe it was why he had chosen to join Star Fleet at least on some levels because he knew his betrothed would never consent to follow him to a ship. He pushed this thought aside it would be years before he had to deal with marriage perhaps T'Pring would grow and change as he was certain he would.
He watched as several of his classmates ran ahead and grabbed various items laughing and joking. Spock watched distantly amused but not showing it. They were distracting these human and Andoian allies of his. He thought they lost what little maturity they had as they gathered items to send back home to their loved ones. Silly items like t-shirts that said. "I left my hearts in San Francisco."
TTTTTTTTTTTTT
T'Pol picked up the crying infant and held him close. Looking down she wanted to weep. His eyes were so familiar and yet different. "I am here my son." She rocked him and was gratified that her daughter was sleeping. The girl child was sucking her thumb and it reminded T'Pol of Elizabeth all those years ago. However she would not let that memory taint these precious new ones. Her com went off and she grabbed it shifting the baby as she did so.
"Greetings it is Admiral T'Pol speaking how may I help you?" she had thought this call might be about Spock however she was pleasantly surprised when a cheerful voice responded.
"Mum I am so glad I caught you at home. I just got the call from Uncle Daniel. Is it true …do we have two more siblings?"
T'Pol took a deep breath and knew there was no hiding this now. With a resigned sigh she answered. "Yes Chase you do. T'Mara and Daniel rescued two children and they are clones of your father and I. The children are only about six months old in earth terms. I do not know how they were made but they appear to be healthy. Dr. Phlox is coming into check them though our healers have done so already. I do hope you and the others will welcome them." That said with not a little fear as T'Pol worried her adult children would be a little put out at having her raise siblings when they were in fact young enough to be her grandchildren.
"Mum I am excited about this, I know how you and dad grieved for Elizabeth and while I hate what Terra Prime has done its going to add to the house and family. That has to be good right plus…dad he would have loved this."
"Yes he would have not the way the children came to be but that they are ours. Chase I hope you will come home soon. Have you talked to your brothers and sisters?"
"No called you first but I am sure they will be just as excited. I can hardly wait to see them. Oh I ah forgot to ask what are their names?"
T'Pol smiled and was glad her son could not see it as he would be smirking. Sometimes he was so like Trip it was painful but she loved him and his siblings almost as much as she had her bondmate. She had no idea her children were relieved as they had worried about her. Afraid she would choose to walk on soon as she seemed lonely. The new children would keep her active and motivated to live longer not that they doubted her love for them but…babies required a more involved life.
"I have not named them yet."
"Well then I help pick the names." Chase asked.
"You may suggest names but I will see if they fit the children." T'Pol said every bit the Vulcan matriarch of her family.
Chase laughed at this. "Well how about T'Mir and Soval Mattie for our family I mean grandma and Uncle Soval. It will honor the elders and they are family names. I mean you can't call the kid after dad as I have that honor but you like Uncle Soval."
"Yes that could work however I do believe I may name him Soval Tucker and T'Mir Margret Tucker, It would be fitting as the Ambassador was a dear friend and if I should honor your foremother as well."
"Yeah I like it. Soval and T'Mir it is then. Damn, Mom I got to go I have to take this call it's Raven." Chase said looking worried.
"Tell the lady Raven of our increase. I am sure she will be pleased to help us arrange for the children to be recognized." T'Pol said wanting to ensure Trip's youngest children had all the protection they could grant them.
"Will do mum." Chase cut the call short and T'Pol sighed sometimes life was complicated.
