Fin stands in his doorway, staring at the party in front of him in confusion, and disbelief.

"Ethan, what are you doing here?"

"Can I come in?"

He nods, and steps out of the doorway, "Of course," he closes the door behind his son.

"I wanted to talk to you," Ethan admits.

"You were so angry when I left, I didn't think that you would want to, for a while."

"I didn't."

"So what changed?"

"My mother refuses to answer my questions."

"What questions do you have?"

"What are you intentions."

Fin cocks an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"

"What are your intentions with my mother? Aside from shacking up with her, and knocking her up, twice, out of wedlock, what are your intentions? Hopefully you have some intentions that are honorable, or noble, because frankly, thus far I have not been impressed."

"You are..." he trails off.

"From what I have heard, I am acting like you."

"What?!"

"Mom said that I get my to the point attitude from you."

"That is probably true."

"So, what are your intentions?"

"I..."

"Do you want to marry her, or not?"

"I can't do this."

"Move in with us? Dude, you knocked her up, again. I mean don't you think that it is the right thing to do to make an honest woman out of her. It might be a little late, but it is better than never."

Fin shakes his head, "I thought that I could do this, but I can't. Son, I can't lie to you."

"Lie to me, about what?"

Fin points to his couch, "Have a seat, please."

"I didn't like the way the last conversation that started that way went."

"Then I am sure that you won't like this one either."

Ethan folds his arms across his chest, and sulks all the way to the couch in the living room. He takes a seat. Fin takes a seat on the couch next to him.

"Your mom thought that it would be best to wait to tell you," he begins.

"About the pregnancy? I understand that. I know it was her idea."

"That isn't what I was talking about."

"So what were you talking about?"

"I don't have any intentions of marrying your mother."

"What?! I thought that..."

Fin cuts him off, "I don't have any intentions of marrying her, because we are already married. I am sorry that this is the way you had to find out."

"What do you mean, you're already married?"

"We got married earlier today."

"Why?"

"For all of the reasons that you have already listed, and a few more."

"Why wouldn't you just tell me that? Why would you guys want to keep that a secret?"

"Because you haven't been very fond of the idea from the beginning. You made your disapproval of the relationship very clear. We were afraid that we would alienate you."

"Don't you think that lying to me is just as bad?"

"Yes."

"So then why did you omit the fact that you guys got married?"

"I..."

"Mom thought that it would be better?" Ethan guesses.

"Yeah," he nods in confirmation.

"Why does she always want to leave out details? Why does she feel like it is necessary to lie to me, all of the time? Why wouldn't she tell me you guys got married?"

"You are her entire world. She loves you, and she doesn't want to lose you."

"So she lies to me?"

"Ethan she just wants to be a good mom," he defends her.

"By lying to me, all of the damn time?"

"She doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize her relationship with you. You know how much you mean to her."

"Then she shouldn't lie to me."

"I agree."

"I can't believe this. You guys are really already married?"

"Yeah," he admits.

"I wish I could have been there."

"I told her that I thought you should be there."

"Why does she think she always knows best? Does she have to be in control all of the time?"

"You know the answer to that."

"Does your captain know?"

"No."

"Are you going to tell him?"

"Eventually, I guess."

"Maybe about the time the baby pops out?"

Fin shrugs, "You know how hard headed your mom is. It is hard to tell how long it will take me to convince her that we have to tell the captain any of this."

"What about Ken?"

"What about him?"

"Did you tell him? Did you tell your son, my brother that you got married?"

"Not yet."

"This isn't sitting well with me."

"I know."

"I mean the fact that no one was at the wedding is completely ludicrous to me. I demand a do-over."

"A do over?"

"An actual wedding. A wedding where there are guests in attendance, you know the important people in your lives who just want to see the two of you be happy. A wedding in a church, with a dress, and a minister."

"I don't think that Liv will agree to a wedding in a church, with guests, in a wedding dress, while pregnant."

"No one knows yet. It isn't like she's showing yet."

"Weddings like that take time to plan."

"So a clandestine, poorly thought out quickie ceremony at the courthouse, with neither of your children present seemed better?"
