Taylor's POV
I lay on the couch in my living room and watch reruns of "Law and Order." My mom enters the house, and doesn't see my laying on the couch. She has her cell phone in her hand, and she's obviously having an intense conversation with whoever is on the other line.
"No Aria, I haven't told Toby." My mom says in annoyance.
My mom waits for Aria's response before she continues to talk.
"I know what I'm doing is wrong, but I don't need a lecture from you. Are you coming to New York with me or not?" My mom snaps.
A smile replaces the scowl on my mom's face.
"Thanks Aria, I knew I could count on you." She says before hanging up the phone.
A startled gasp escapes my lips when my mom walks towards the couch. I immediately close my eyes, and pretend like I was asleep.
"Hey Taylor." My mom says as she kisses my forehead lovingly.
"Mommy, is that you?" I ask as I open my blue eyes.
"I didn't mean to wake you sweetheart." My mom tells me apologetically.
"It's okay, I was just taking a little nap." I say with a fake yawn.
"I actually was hoping we could talk." My mom says softly.
"Sure." I say as I sit up.
"I'm going with Aria to New York for the weekend." My mom tells me.
"Why?" I ask her.
"I'm just really stressed about the big case I took on, and I need a girl's trip." My mom says as she avoids eye contact.
"How long have you been planing this trip?" I ask her curiously.
"Not long at all. Aria called me this morning and asked if I would go to New York with her." My mom says after thinking about it for a minute.
"Does Dad know you're going?" I question.
"Yes, he took me out to lunch this afternoon and I told him." My mom says with a nervous smile.
"When are you leaving?" I ask her.
"Tonight after your father gets home for work." She says in response.
"I hope you have fun." I say as I try to hide the resentment in my voice.
"Thanks baby." My mom says as she starts to walk upstairs.
"Mom wait." I blurt out suddenly.
"What's up Taylor?" She asks concerned.
"I was at Haley's house the other day, and Hanna was telling me about an old show that you two watched in high school." I say with a slight smile.
"What show?" My mom asks me curiously.
"Grey's Anatomy, I think that's what it's called." I say after thinking about it for a minute.
"I remember Grey's Anatomy! Your aunties and I use to spend hours watching that show." My mom says with a chuckle.
"I don't blame you, Hanna told me there were some pretty hot doctors on it." I say as I glare at my mother.
"Yes, there were." My mom says as an uncomfortable look washes over her face.
"What do you think of hot doctors Mom?" I ask with a smirk.
"They're better than ugly doctors I suppose." My mom says as she avoids eye contact.
"I think so too, unless they're home wreckers." I say with bitterness in my voice.
"Taylor, what in the world are you talking about?" My mom asks me.
"Nothing, sometimes I catch myself thinking out loud." I say as I force a smile.
"Okay, I'm going to start packing." My mom says as she hurries upstairs.
As soon as my mom is out of sight, I pull out my cell phone and dial James's number.
"James, I need you to meet me." I say with urgency in my voice.
Line Break
I stand in the parking lot of The Grille and wait for my boyfriend to arrive. A smile spreads across my face when I see James's car pull up.
"Get in." He instructs.
I nod, and climb into the front seat of his car.
"Thanks for meeting me." I tell him gratefully.
"No problem, now tell me what's on your mind." James says as he rests a hand on my shoulder.
"I think my mom is cheating on my dad with Doctor. Kingston." I blurt out suddenly.
"What makes you think that?" He asks me shocked.
"I caught them having an intimate moment the other day." I say with a heavy sigh.
"What kind of intimate moment?" James asks me gently.
"She was upset, and he was comforting her." I say after thinking about it for a moment.
"Taylor, that doesn't mean they're having an affair." James tells me seriously.
"But he kept asking her if she was going to tell my dad something before they leave for New York." I say as tears begin to well up in my eyes.
"Don't jump to conclusions Taylor, maybe someone's suing him and he needs a lawyer." James says as he grabs my hand.
"Maybe, but why is my mom making this some huge secret?" I ask as tears begin to stream down my face.
"She probably hasn't had the chance to talk to you about what's going on." James says with a shrug.
"That isn't true! My mom told me that she's going on a trip this weekend with your mom, but she didn't say anything about Wren." I say with a sniffle.
"Taylor, I know that your mother would never do anything to hurt you or Keenan." James tells me softly.
"How do you know?" I ask him skeptically.
"I just know." He says before giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"Can you do me a favor?" I ask James suddenly.
"Anything." James says as his blue eyes twinkle.
"Come to New York with me. I need to figure out what's going on." I say in a pleading voice.
"What? We can't just leave town and head to New York!" James exclaims.
"Our moms are doing it." I remind him.
"Our moms are grown women." He says in response.
"Please James." I beg.
"We don't even know where they're staying." James tells me.
"So call your mom and ask her." I say as I hand James his cell phone.
"What am I suppose to say?" James asks me.
"You're going to Yale! God gave you a brain, so use it." I say with an eye roll.
"Okay, you win." James says as he hits the call button.
"Hey honey." Aria says when she answers the phone.
"Hey Mom, how are you?" James asks as he glares at me.
"Good, what's up?" She asks her son curiously.
"I um was wondering if you and Dad were going out tonight." James says awkwardly.
"Why?" Aria asks confused.
"I wanted to make sure that you didn't need me to watch Mackenzie." James rambles.
"James, are you going on a date?" Aria asks in a teasing voice.
"No mother." James says with an eye roll.
"Then why are you so anxious about having to babysit your younger sister?" Aria questions.
"I just want a night to myself." James says defensively.
"You'll get the night to yourself. I'm going to New York with Spencer, and your father will be busy watching Sam and Riley's every move." Aria says with a small laugh.
"You're going to New York?" James asks in a fake surprised voice.
"Yeah, it was a last-minute decision." Aria tells him.
"Where are you staying?" James blurts out.
"Why do you need to know where I'm staying?" Aria asks him confused.
"New York is a dangerous place, and I want to make sure that you're safe." James says in response.
"That's sweet of you James. I'm staying at the Plaza, and it's very safe." Aria assures him.
"Okay, I love you and have fun." James tells her.
"I love you too elephant." Aria says before hanging up the phone.
"Did she just call you elephant?" I ask amused.
"Yeah, she started calling me that when I was a baby." James says with a blush.
"Why?" I ask him curiously.
"I had a really big nose when I was little." James tells me.
"You still have a really big nose." I say with a wince.
James stares at himself in the mirror self-consciously.
"I was kidding you weirdo!" I exclaim.
"Good." James says in relief.
"Let's get to the train station." I say as I stare at my watch.
Line Break
After a two-hour train ride, James and I arrive in New York City. We take a cab to the Plaza, and wait at the check-in table.
"Can we have one room with two beds?" James asks the man running the check-ins.
"We only have kings in our rooms." The man says apologetically.
"We can find another hotel." James says as he grabs my hand.
"No, we'll take a room." I say with a blush.
"Taylor, are you sure you're comfortable with this?" James whispers to me.
"Yes, we need to be near my mom if we want to figure out what's going on." I tell him.
"Okay." James says with a shrug.
"You're in room 1507." The man says as he hands James a key card.
Line Break
James and I enter our hotel room and gasp when we see how fancy it is.
"This bed looks so comfortable!" I say as I jump on it.
James chuckles before taking off his shirt, and revealing his perfectly sculpted abs.
A blush forms on my cheeks as I stare at his newly exposed stomach.
"It's kind of hot in here. Do you mind if I sleep without a shirt?" James asks me.
"No, not at all!" I exclaim.
"I'm going to order room service, what sounds good to you?" James asks as he looks through the menu.
"Anything really, do you mind if I take a shower?" I ask him.
"Of course not." James says before kissing my forehead.
By the time I finish taking a shower and putting on my pajama's, James is already digging into the room service.
"That smells good." I say as I take a seat next to him on the bed.
"Grab whatever you want." James says before giving me a kiss on the lips.
I grab a piece of cheese pizza, and eat it greedily. After we finish eating, James clears out the room and crawls into bed. I become extremely nervous, and I stare at him like a dear in the headlights.
"Aren't you going to get under the covers?" James asks me.
"Um, sure." I say as I situate myself on the far side of the bed.
As soon as I'm under the covers, James pulls me close to him. This is way scarier than I thought it would be, and I'm regretting my decision to stay at this hotel. What if I snore or kick all night? That would be so embarrassing!
"J-James?" I say softly.
I don't get a response, and I realize that he's already sound asleep.
I close my eyes, and within minutes I'm asleep in my boyfriend's arms.
Line Break
My eyes flutter open when I hear James moaning loudly in his sleep.
"Taylor." He mutters to himself.
Oh my gosh, is he having a sex dream about me?
James rolls over and is now facing me. A startles gasp escaped my lips when his hard lower region presses against my core.
"J-James wake up!" I say as I begin to shake him violently.
"What's going on?" James asks as his blue eyes flutter open.
I don't respond, but James quickly notices his massive erection.
"Oh my God! I wasn't... was I?" James asks me embarrassed.
I nod my head slowly.
"I'm going to take a shower, a cold shower." James says before scurrying out of bed.
I lay in bed and think about what just happened. A few minutes later, James renters the bedroom.
"I'm so sorry Taylor." James says ashamed.
"It's okay." I say as I try to keep the tears from falling.
"You're crying, I probably really freaked you out." James says guiltily.
"You didn't." I lie.
"I'll sleep on the floor for the rest of the night." James tells me.
"No, don't be ridiculous." I say as I shake my head.
"This was a bad idea, I should have taken you to a different hotel." James says in frustration.
At that moment, I begin to sob uncontrollably.
"Oh Taylor, please don't cry." James begs.
"I feel like I'm not mature enough for you." I tell him truthfully.
"That's crazy! You're more mature than most of the seniors at out high school." James says as he wraps his arms around me.
"B-but I'm not ready to do anything... sexual." I say through my tears.
"That doesn't make you immature!" James says as he strokes my dark hair.
"If you really want to do it we can." I say softly.
"Taylor, I want you to listen to me! When I was a sophomore I lost my virginity at a party, and I regret it everyday of my life. My fist time meant nothing to me, and I want it to mean something to you. When you have sex for the first time, whether it's with me or someone else, make sure you're ready." James begs.
"Okay." I say with a nod.
"I mean it Taylor, I love you way to much to let you make the same mistake that I did." James tells me seriously.
"I love you too, and thanks." I say with a smile.
"For what?" He asks me confused.
"For being the best boyfriend in the world." I clarify.
"You're the best girlfriend in the world." James says with a blush.
"I'm really tired." I say with a yawn.
"So am I, let's get some sleep." James says as he turns off the lights.
"Good night elephant." I tease.
"Taylor Cavanaugh!" James says in a fake angry voice.
I chuckle, before resting my head on his chest and letting myself drift to sleep.
What did you think? Are you liking Taylor and James? What will they find out about Spencer? I'll update as soon as I get 30 reviews. Thanks for you :)
