Things are looking up, oh finally! I thought I'd never see the day when you'd smile at me! ;9 Sailor Moon is owned by Naoko Takeuchi-sama, TOEI Animation, and VIZMedia. So this whole week, I've been going to the library for lunch just so I can write :3 Why didn't I think of this before? It's perfect.

Notes:

So, I did a lot of research for this one, or at least I tried. It was kind of hard, but I did my best. Sorry if some stuff's wrong ;(

Jose can't keep the grin off his face as Koko drags him through the forest. Forget the why and how—his beloved was here. With him. For him. He remembers what Minako had told him; tell her the truth. He pushes the thought aside. There's no time for that right now. He's too busy being in love.

They reach a small, titanium fort, and she opens the door and strides in like she owns the place. "Koko?" he says,, standing at the door warily.

She rolls her eyes with cold impatience that seems a little off to him. "Just get in here." He takes careful steps forward, and as soon as he's all the way in, the heavy door closes behind him with a creak and a bang. He flips around to glance at the door just as the locks snap into place. He looks back at her in the dimly lit room, and she turns her head slightly. He sees an uncharacteristic smile playing at her lips, dark and seductive. He gives her a sideways look.

"What's going on?" he asks with caution.

A laugh escapes her smug smile. "Wow, you really are naive!" she says, and sighs. "My father told me to kill you, but being the mistress of disguise that I am, I think I'll play with you a bit first."

"What? Why would the king—?"

Kousagi laughs, cutting him off. "Don't be silly! He's not my father!"

Jose doesn't say anything. Is she feeling alright? Something's wrong here…

Kousagi shakes her head, sneering. Jose watches as she changes, just slightly. Her hair falls from their buns, falling in pink waves down her back. Her eyes reduce in size from childlike to sexy, and Jose finds it hard to process another thought. His heart picks up speed, racing to meet hers in a kiss that would seal their love like a requiem met with sweet consonance.

He wants her more than he wanted anything else in his life.

"Come to me," she says in a sweet voice that sounded like hers, but a little off. If Jose noticed, he didn't care.

She hugs him to her chest, and he puts his hands on her hips. He presses his lips carefully to hers, to make sure she was okay with this. She takes the lead, forcing his lips open and meeting his tongue with hers for the first time. He'd been in a relationship before where this was normal, but with her it was different, and so his heart charges with excitement. He moves his lips to her cheek, her jaw, her neck, and she bites her lip. Despite the adrenaline pumping through his vein, he moves with surety, slipping his hands underneath her shirt and pulling it over her head in one, swift movement. She sighs as his lips move over her body like a conquistador exploring new territory. She was his, and he wanted everyone to know it.

Lucifer cleared his throat and opened the door. His daughter, Adelruna, sat up, and in a voice as sweet as sugar, said, "Yes, Daddy?" The human prey laid on top of her, kissing her obsessively.

"Those children are coming tomorrow. When I can get them separated, I want you to follow them and guise as their lovers. Draw them to you, and kill them. Waste no time."

"I can't play with them?"

Lucifer shook his head. "No, dear. You mustn't waste any time. These people are powerful, and will see through you if you do that. Be cautious."

Adelruna pouted. "I understand."

"Good. I will leave you to your… prey."

Adelruna grins. She caught the prey, but decided to disregard her father's warnings and play with her food. He seems excited, but that's okay with her. That just makes it more fun because she doesn't even have to try very hard to seduce him.

Adelruna is a succubus, a mistress of disguise, a valkyrie. Not many know what she truly looks like. In fact, only her father knows. Her long black hair would fall in thick waves to her hips, with red highlights. Her irises and lips sparkle naturally like rubies. Her skin is fair, flawless, and any model would trade her own soul for Adelruna's perfect hourglass figure. Some had, and that was exactly the asking price: one soul.

Adelruna laughs, her pink hair tickling her bare back as her current prey nips at her neck. He doesn't even know the difference between his own girlfriend and the Mistress of Disguise. What a fool.

But, there's something that seems different about this one. His kisses send a zing through her nerves that she'd never felt before. His charming voice has her heart blooming like the rose of love before he'd even spoken. Love? She'd never felt love before. How could she know that it was love. No way was it love. Of course not. She's on a job for her father, and not even doing it right. Adelruna thinks about killing him, and the rose in her chest wilts, goading her to tears.

"What's wrong, my love? Are you unhappy?" he asks.

Adelruna shakes her head. "I have to do something regrettable soon. I'm not looking forward to it."

"Then don't do it," he says simply. "Stay here with me."

Adelruna shakes her head again. He's missing the point. "No, I can't. It involves you. I need to tell you something." Before she could stop herself, she was telling this man she hardly knew everything about her. "I'm not who you think I am. I'm not your girlfriend. I'm a valkyrie. My name is Adelruna Hades, daughter of Lucifer, and the Mistress of Disguise." At this, he backs away from her, and she can feel-part of how she controls people is being able to feel and bend their minds and emotions to create the illusion of desire-how disgusted he is, with himself and her, which made her heart ache, but she continued. "I'm supposed to kill you, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'm feeling something that I wasn't born to feel. I want to deny it but I can't. There's something inside your heart that I want. It's undeniably good and pure, and I want to know where it came from. Please." She returns to normal, showing him how she truly looks.

She can tell that he pities her, even if she couldn't feel his emotions. Her first instinct is to yell at him, but she keeps her mouth shut on account of her better judgement. He purses his lips, torn. She looks down, and then up at him from underneath her lashes, turning her eyes gold, innocent, willing the highlights in her hair to become the same shade. She can feel him turning to her favor, and has to suppress a grin, but then it fades as one simple thought creeps into her mind like a wraith.

Can you really change?

Adelruna purses her lips. She wants to answer that yes, she really can change, but then she thinks about it. This promiscuity had been her lifestyle, forced onto her by her father, who raped her every day when she was little so she would get used to it and go about doing his will. In reality, she hates her father. She hates who he is and how he never considers her. She sees fathers in the human world, and longs for the connection they have to their children.

But this is all she's ever known. She doesn't know how to be good. Hell, she's the daughter of the nefariously infamous Satan. She wonders how people can worship him when she despises him and is so disgusted by him that she can't look at him. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. His greasy dark hair is like a lake in the middle of a swamp; vile and repulsive. His black eyes are like an abyss, the red cat's-eye slit like a crack at the bottom of the abyss, opening up to magma and fire and the rotten smell of the burning, melting flesh of those poor souls who fall in. Just the thought of it brings the rolls of nausea to a new high.

"Are you all right?"

Adelruna looks up into his concerned jade eyes. "Why?" she says, but it's barely audible. She clears her throat. "Why do you care? I just seduced you and made you cheat on your girlfriend by stealing her identity, so why do you care if I'm alright? Any normal person would have been so disgusted that they wouldn't be able to look me in the eye, and you're concerned for my health? Why? What is it with you people? Why are you so different?"

Jose smiles kindly. "We're different because we don't believe in hating our enemies. We believe in righting wrongs, in love and justice and peace. We heal. We don't break down."

Adelruna's topaz eyes sparkle with fresh tears welling up. She looks away, embarrassed.

"Will you help me to find the main building, and my friends?"

She looks back at him, and then down, contemplating. That would mean treason against her father, punishable by one thousand years in the five rivers that converge into Styx: Phlegethon, river of fire, that flows into the depths of Tartarus, dungeon of torment; Acheron, river of woe; Lethe, river of oblivion; and Cocytus, river of lament. But if she goes with these people, there's a better chance that they can defeat him, because she knows everything there is to know about this hell.

Adelruna purses her lips. She really, really wants to, but she's scared.

"Don't you want to be free?" he asks her.

Yes! her heart screams, but she bites her tongue. There's no guarantee that they'll succeed. She flattens her expression to a cold, hard mask, and turns up her nose. "What makes you think you can offer me freedom? You know my father right? He would torture me past the end of my wits if I were to go with you. That's no exaggeration; you've heard of the River Styx, right? You know what it stands for? Hatred and abhorrence. He'd probably take your lot, too."

Jose smiles, shaking his head. "I doubt it. Our Queen is much stronger than to allow that to happen. She's so maternal, she'd probably take you under her wing, despite everything."

Ignoring everything her instinct is screaming at her, that she should not trust this man she hardly knows who works for her father's enemy, she should not betray her father for fear of the purgatory that is sure to follow, she takes his hand, and he beams. She feels a physical weight lifted off her shoulders, and she smiles genuinely for the first time.

He blinks. "Wow," he remarks. "You look so pretty when you smile."

Adelruna's face heats up, and she shakes her head. She wills new clothes to appear on her body, a cute, little, red, sleeveless party dress with a sweetheart neckline and a gray vest. She has on long, gray-and-red striped tights, and gray, strappy stiletto heels that must have added at least four inches to her height. Her nails and lips are cherry red, and her hair is bouncy, curled perfectly, with thick, dark eyelashes.

Jose throws his armor back on and smiles. "Do you know where the main building is?"

"Can you find your house from the middle of your neighborhood? Of course I do."

Instead of staying awkwardly silent like she expected, Jose laughs easily. "I guess that makes sense. I didn't really think of it that way."

Wow! Cool and mature and good-looking! she thinks, then looks away flustered. No! He's my enemy!

No, he's not. He's her conduit, her escape route. He's going to get her out of this Hell and help her to atone for her sins.

This is what she's wanted for so long: to escape her father. But is it really that easy? Her father is nothing short of omniscient. No doubt that even if she escaped, he could find her. Not to mention that he's immortal, which could create some major problems in the actual "killing him" procedure.

Though, he does have an Achilles heel: Adelruna's mother. Lucifer liked to keep her hidden when he could, so even to Adelruna, her whereabouts were unknown. Her mother hates Hades. She knows because sometimes, during the winter months, when she goes walking, she can hear the familiar screech of her mother cursing her father to the deepest depths of Tartarus. To this day, she has never seen her mother's face.

Adelruna shudders. "Let's go," she says.

"Sure."

Once they step outside, Adelruna snaps, and the landscape changes to the Blood Desert. "No time to be surprised, let's just get out of here." She snaps again, and and large, onyx demon's wings sprout from her back. She takes Jose in her arms, and he blushes, looking startled. She smiles up at him. "Do you trust me?"

"Uh— I—" he stutters.

She laughs softly, and without giving him the chance to answer further, she takes off, soaring up into the scarlet sky at an amazing speed. They must have been at least one thousand feet high when she finally stopped. "Hold on," she commands, and she feels his arms tighten around her. Of course, it makes her heart pick up speed, but she ignores it. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a scouter, which she promptly turns on and places on her face. "Search for: Underworld Keep,"

"Searching for: Underworld Keep," the automated voice chirps into the earpiece. The lens' focus drifts as it tries to identify the location she's searching for. Two bleeps signify that it has found its mark, and the lens focuses on a point on the horizon, magnifying the image. She closes her other eye. "Perfect. He's expanded the landscapes, making it nearly impossible to make it over there alive."

"But it's possible, isn't it? You said 'nearly impossible,' so I figured that meant there is a chance, however slight. Right?"

She looks up at him, and is shocked by how close they are. If she craned her neck just a little, her lips could reach his, and oh, how sweet that—!

Adelruna's inner babble is interrupted by a crack of thunder, and she flips her head just fast enough to catch a flash of crimson lightning on the opposite horizon. Her stomach drops, and her heart fills with dread. "Oh, no! It's going to rain! We have less than five seconds, I can feel it. Let's go back to the base for now and wait it out."

Instead of asking questions, Jose nods once. Adelruna lets her wings drop and they drop 900 feet in an instant. She catches them, and glides back to the base.

She throws the door open just as the first drips of bloody acid fall to the ground. "Get in!" she yells frantically as Jose jumps over the threshold.

Adelruna slams the door and breathes a sigh of relief, adrenaline pumping through her veins, wiping the beads of sweat from her forehead. She leans against the door and slides to the ground. That was extremely close.

As if to mimic her thoughts, Jose says, "Let's not do that again."

She looks at him tiredly. "Ya think?" With a sigh and a flick of her wrist, Adelruna switches the landscape and staggers over to the couch, unconscious before she lands.

Hera wipes her forehead and pushes the mammoth leaves out of her path. She has no idea where the hell she's going, but she's trying to follow Jose's trail. She's completely dehydrated, so when she tries to call his name, it comes out as a single wheeze that could have been the whisper of the wind. "Jose!"

She falls against a tree, indulging in the respite while it exists. She sees spots in her vision, clouding her view. Blackness starts to consume her sight, but she finds the energy to shake her head and stand once more. "Jose!" she puffs, and lurches forward.

It isn't long before she comes across a large, chrome box, maybe a small base. She cocks her head. What's this doing in the middle of the forest? She spots a door, and, ignoring all instinct, wobbles quickly towards it. They might have water! She pushes the door, and it's dark, dimly lit by a fire on the opposite wall. Somebody stands in the room, shocking her. She prepares a Supreme Thunderbolt that she probably won't end up using because she's so exhausted.

"Hera-sama?" the figure says, and she recognizes his voice. As he approaches her, it's confirmed.

"Jose!" she rasps, glad to put away the attack that was using up what remains of her power. She enters the room and, tripping, falls against his chest. He catches her and helps her over to a couch.

"Are you all right?" he asks, but she doesn't comprehend. He asked her more questions, but he might as well be speaking English for all she understands.

She squints up at him, furrowing her brow. "Water," she squeaks.

He says something and nods. He leaves, but he's back shortly with a familiar, clear plastic bottle.

Excitedly, she wrenches the bottle from his hands and pours the cool liquid down her throat. Never has anything tasted so sweet, felt so amazing as it cascaded in a heavy torrent through her esophagus. "Thank you," she says after she's drained the bottle.

Jose smirks. "No problem."

She looks around her. On the opposite couch, she sees a girl with curly black hair asleep. There's a bed in the far corner of the room, disheveled as though someone had been tossing and turning in it. "Where are we? Who is she?"

He looks around awkwardly. "Okay, this is gonna sound really, really bad, but I swear to the Silver Millenium that I'm still on the side of Light. She's the daughter of Lucifer Hades, our enemy, but she hates him and she wants to switch sides. We're in her bedroom. She's really powerful, so I think she'll be a great asset."

Hera glances at the girl warily. "How can we trust her?"

"She spared and then saved my life. She was supposed to kill me, but she didn't. Instead she confessed to me how she felt about her father, and about… about me. And then—"

"About you?"

"Yeah. She likes me, I think. She had to pretend to be girlfriend to lure me to her room, but she was supposed to kill me. Before we did anything seriously immoral, she stopped and confessed everything."

Hera purses her lips, narrowing her eyes at the girl. "What's her name?"

"Adelruna. She's a Valkyrie."

Hera shakes her head. "Adelruna is a mythical succubus."

Jose looks around sheepishly. "Well, she wants to change, so who am I to deny her?"

Hera takes another glance at the girl, and sighs. "As long as it's alright with Serenity." She shakes her head. "Who am I kidding? Of course it will be."

Jose's face lights up. "Great! Once the blood rain stops, we'll be on our way to the main building!"

Hera, rolling her eyes, shakes her head and pulls her hand down her face. "I'm tired, so I'll take a nap here. Keep guard, and wake me up if something happens."

"Right!" Jose chirps happily. "Don't worry!"

Hera wishes she had nothing to worry about, but he was she kidding? She'll always have something to worry about, for as long as she lives. She'll wrinkle before age thirty, no doubt. With another long, heavy sigh, Hera puts a pillow over her face and quickly drifts away, falling asleep in a matter of seconds.
