Another short chapter today. I didn't feel like the scenes from the next chapter went with this chapter.

Thanks so much for all the support. I can't believe this part is almost over.

By the way I don't own the Fosters. If I did I think I would have an infinite amount of cool points!

Episode 20 Chapter 6

Mariana opened Zac's front door. "Zac. Zac."

He walked out of his bedroom. His bags were packed.

"What are you doing?"

"My dad will be here in the morning."

"What? I don't want you to go."

Zac sighed. "I have to go. I don't have a choice."

"We can figure something out."

"Mariana, even if you could convince someone to take me in I can't stay."

"Why?"

"I've already lost my mom. I think it is about time I got to know my dad." Zac had thought long and hard about it. It only made sense for him to live with his dad. "I talked to my dad and he said once his contract runs out in London we can move back here. I think it runs out in July. I could be back for the next school year."

"But I'm going to miss you so much."

"I know. I'm going to miss you too. But I have to do this." Zac hugged her. "Do you understand why I have to go?"

Mariana nodded. "Yeah. I understand." She hugged him. She just didn't want him to go.

Zac touched her face and pulled her into a kiss.

Mariana had to believe that he would be back. She really did understand that he had to go.

"Hey is this seat taken?" Brandon asked Callie.

She was outside sitting by herself.

"Go ahead." She scooted over. "I guess you didn't get suspended or expelled."

"No. Lauren took the blame."

"Wow. Why would she do that?"

"I'm not sure. I need to see her. But I know moms aren't going to let that happen."

"So she got expelled?"

"Yep. This whole thing is crazy. I wish there was a way to prove that Vico did it."

"I think you should stay away from him." Callie warned him. "I've heard a lot of bad things about him."

"Yeah I know."

"Maybe you should stay away from Lauren too."

Brandon nodded. "I just need to talk to her one last time. Just like you want to talk to Ryan one last time. I need that closure."

"I talked to Ryan yesterday. He knows that we can't see each other." Callie told him. "He understood. I'm sure Lauren will too."

Brandon hoped that was true. He was worried about Lauren. He didn't think she was very stable. He was pretty sure that she had a drinking problem. He wanted to help her.

Rita walked into Ryan's apartment. She had knocked a few times but hadn't gotten a response. "Ryan." She called out for him.

She walked into his bedroom. He was still in bed. "What on earth are you still doing in bed?"

"I needed a personal day." He responded.

"Because of Callie?" Rita asked as she pulled the covers off of him.

"Hey." Ryan yelled as he attempted to get the covers back.

"I'm not going to let you mope. That's ridiculous. You are a twenty-one year old man. Grow up." Rita warned him. "You are better than this."

Ryan didn't say anything. He just groaned.

"I warned you about getting involved with Callie. You should have listened to me. And now you have to be man enough to let her go."

"But."

"No buts Ryan. Her moms have made their decision and you need to respect that."

Ryan sighed. He knew that she was right.

"Besides Callie is about to get adopted."

"What? Today?" Ryan sits up.

"Yes. Callie called Daphne and Kiara. I'm going to take them."

"That's great." Ryan was happy for Callie. "Her moms might let us date after all. They were worried about CPS. Now they don't have to be."

"Ryan." Rita yelled. "You aren't listening to me. You have got to try and get this through your head. It doesn't matter if she is getting adopted or not. You have to be the adult here. You have to let her go. I know you are a smart young man, and I know you know that I'm right about this."

Ryan didn't say anything.

Rita reached in her purse. "Here." She handed him a brochure.

"What is this?" Ryan took the brochure from her. He read through it. "Africa?"

"It is the mission trip you thought about last year."

"It is for six months. I can't leave Callie for that long."

"Ryan." Rita sighed. "You have wanted to do this for as long as I have known you. It is a great opportunity. You would work at the children's village. It is right up your alley. They need your help." Rita touched his shoulder. "You need to do what is best for Callie and for yourself. And going against her mothers' wishes is not what is best for anyone."

Ryan didn't say anything.

Rita was right.

Vico walked out of the gym after wrestling. "I can't believe you let your cousin take the blame for what you did." Tayla confronted him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Lauren covered for Brandon. I thought you were the one that set all this up. At least that's what I've been told."

"Shit." Vico threw his bag down. "I can't believe she did this. I'm going to go give her a piece of my mind." He stormed off leaving Tayla by herself.

A lot of people think Ryan is weird and too good to be true. They just have a connection. He isn't thinking clearly about her age. Do you think he will go to Africa?

Let me know what you thought!
