49: Ambition
Trowa's height and the grace with which he walked had always managed to make Wufei feel small, and clumsy, but for some reason today it seemed to bother him even more. "Good to see you." The taller man spoke calm and calculating.
Wufei just nodded. He had other things on his mind than courtesies. "This is the place?" He asked, turning to Heero.
"Affirmative." He answered. "This is the address."
"And they're here?" This question came from Trowa.
"Confirmed." Heero said, turning his laptop so Trowa could see. "This is a layout of the building. This is where they are keeping him." He pointed at a small square on the screen.
"You're certain it's him?" Wufei asked. "I thought you said you didn't manage to get vid-feeds of the area." Heero had already been here when Wufei called him last night. Wufei figured he'd kept some line out in Duo's files to warn him of any changes. He'd been observing the building all this time.
"These are the people who hacked into preventers and downloaded Duo's DNA profile. The next day they proclaimed they had him."
"So just a group trying to make a name for themselves?"
"Everything points in that direction." Heero answered. "They have weapons but nothing quite as elaborate as would be expected of a group with serious political ambition."
That was a plus. There were only four of them after all, with Quatre only guiding them through the com and this was an illegal act. "So, what's the plan?"
