I won't kill them, no worries.
That's cool but I don't really care how tall Hikaru was at the end of the manga because this isn't the manga nor is this the end, so he will get taller, but I'm not following the manga at all. Some parts, yes, but, I like Hikaru way shorter than Xavier because it's cute.
LITTLE HIKARU AND TALL XAVIER IS JUST TOO CUTE OH MY GOD
We're getting so close to the end but yet so far away because Hikaru and Xavier are idiots
Hikaru had waited up for Xavier to return, but he was getting tired and the male still wasn't home. He settled down on the mattress, curling up under the blanket and staring at the side of the wall.
Stella had left to go after Xavier, whether or not she found him Hikaru didn't know.
He was starting to feel guilty. He knew that Xavier had problems, yet he chose to ignore it and let the male run himself into the ground. He heard the apartment door open and close, and shuffling around in the living area. He shut his eyes tightly when he heard noise down the hallway and the door opened quietly.
Xavier sighed when he saw that Hikaru was asleep, because he was tired and slightly drunk and just wanted to go to sleep. He kicked off his shoes and tossed his pants and jacket in one corner of the room before he slipped onto the mattress, trying to make no noise.
Hikaru wanted to say something, but he felt like it wasn't his place. Truly, it wasn't his place anymore to comfort the male. Xavier probably didn't want any comfort from him anyway.
Hikaru woke up the next morning to his alarm. He shut it off quickly, not sure if Xavier was still asleep or not.
Xavier wasn't in the bed though, and as Hikaru explored the rest of the apartment, he discovered Xavier wasn't there at all.
He went on with his morning, trying not to worry too much. He went to school and when he returned, Xavier was on the couch, napping. His phone was blowing up like crazy, notifications from every social network keeping the phone lit up.
Hikaru made himself a snack, trying to stay quiet for Xavier's sake. He just didn't know what to do. He didn't really care that Xavier smoked. Well, actually, he did. He cared a lot. But, it wasn't his business what the male did and why he did it. That wasn't his place anymore.
"When you'd get back?" Xavier grumbled, slowly waking up. He yawned and pushed himself up, sitting on the couch as he tried to wake up.
"Half an hour ago. Where we you this morning?"
"Had band shit to do. I'm spending the rest of this break sleeping though." Xavier sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"How is touring?"
"The best thing ever." Xavier told him, starting to wake up more. "Don't think I've ever been happier. Being on that stage, performing every night to people who are singing your songs. It's amazing." He rambled, a lazy smile slipping onto his face. "Look, about yesterday…"
"Don't worry about it. You gotta do what you gotta do." Hikaru brushed it off, and he saw the relief on Xavier's face. "It's not really my business." Though he wanted it to be his business, so badly. He wanted to know what happened between Xavier and his father years ago, what happened to them recently, how was he handling everything, was he okay?
It was awkward after that. Xavier played with his phone, possibly tweeting something out to his fans. "How was school?" Xavier asked after a few minutes of silence.
"Good." Hikaru mumbled.
They both just nodded their heads at this. Hikaru wanted to bring up the elephant in the room. The question he had been dying to know the answer to for the past few years.
Why did you leave?
He just couldn't ask it. He looked at how worn out Xavier was and he just couldn't bring himself to ask it. "This girl in my class was wearing one of your band shirts. She didn't believe me when I told you I knew you." He said and this perked Xavier up.
"Really now?" He asked with a small smile and Hikaru found it easy to sit down next to him on the couch and just talk. He had missed it so much and Xavier just leaned in, interested in everything Hikaru said. He had missed that, that look Xavier gave him and how Xavier just listened to him. He had missed everything about Xavier.
He caught himself quickly though, because no, they could never be what they were before, they just couldn't, but, maybe they could be friends?
"Call me if you need me, okay?" Xavier told him as he rolled his suitcase into the living room. A cab was outside, ready to take him where the tour bus was.
"Okay."
"For real, or text me."
"Got it."
"And you have Stella's, Isaac's, Vinny's, and Jackal's number too if I don't respond."
"Xavier." Hikaru turned to look at him and raised his eyebrows. "I'll be fine. You'll be gone for two months. That's not that long."
"I know…" He mumbled and put his sunglasses on. "Just be good, okay?"
"You know that's impossible for me, right?" Hikaru smirked. Xavier shook his head and grabbed his suitcase and his other bag. "See ya in two months!" Hikaru called after him as he left.
"Bye you little shit."
Two months wasn't as short as Hikaru thought.
It was possibly because he kept tabs on Xavier whenever he was.
He didn't know when he started this, obsessively checking his instagram and twitter to see any new updates from the band. He watched very morning show they were on and every tour diary video that was posted. They really blew up everywhere when their album dropped in America. It made its way to the top of the charts and they were everywhere.
Hikaru could start understanding why Xavier stress smoked. He was constantly around people, strangers, screaming fans, with no time to just relax. Hikaru found himself texting Xavier more than he planned. He just couldn't help himself. It felt good to do it, just ask him how he was.
He was working on a paper when a new tour diary was posted. He clicked on it and let the video load before it started.
"What are you doing?" The camera asked as he walked into the living area of the couch. Xavier was laying on the couch, with Vinny laying on top of him.
"Watching the Journey of the Pole cat." Vinny answered like it was nothing.
Xavier just sighed. "Whenever Vinny doesn't feel well, or he feels like being an asshole, he begs to watch this damn film and of course, he can only do it when he's lying on top of me."
"You don't understand. Xavier is incredibly comfortable. He's the best cuddler, even though he won't admit it. Sometimes, if you don't feel well, or if you're homesick, he'll let you lay on him and he'll rub your back and sing to you." Vinny said and Xavier's face got red. "He sings in French all the time, it's so nice."
Hikaru felt his heart drop as he watched the video. He knew what Vinny was talking about. It was a great feeling. He closed out of the video and went back to his paper, focusing on it as he tried to forget the feeling.
Yet he couldn't really focus, because their new music video for their new single 'Social Causality' was being released today. He just gave up on the essay.
The song wasn't as popular on the radio as the previous two singles, but the music video was apparently a hit. Hikaru clicked on it.
"This is how we're going to die." Xavier muttered as the music video started. He, Vinny, and Isaac were backed up against the gym wall, with the entire football team standing in front of them with dodgeballs.
"This is how the world ends, not with a bang, but with a dodgeball to the face." Isaac said and Vinny and Xavier glared at him.
"I don't get why we're getting beat up. Their boyfriends and girlfriends are the one who cheated on them." Xavier told them.
"I think it's because we're fucking weirdos too." Isaac said. "They've been wanting to beat the shit out of us for forever. Now they have a reason to do it, other than the fact that we're weird."
"I don't think we're weird." Vinny muttered, shrugging. "Hey, where's Stella?"
"She said she's getting help." Isaac said. "Is that the math teacher on their side?" He asked, wide eyes. "The teachers even want to beat us up."
"I dunno why, we're never in class to bug them." Vinny said as the gym doors swung open.
"I got help!" Stella skipped over to them. The music started as people walked through the doors.
'ENTERING: ALL TIME LOW' Words on the video popped up as the guys came through the door and posed. Jack was wearing stupid booty short gym shorts that said 'BONER' on the back.
'ENTERING: FALL OUT BOY' Patrick just did an awkward wave, while Pete gave them a thumbs up.
'ENTERING: BLINK-182' The whole band was in booty shorts. It fit.
'ENTERING: PANIC! AT THE DISCO' Brendon and the guys were in sparkling track suits and made dramatic poses. This also fit.
The other bands hurried over to join their side as the balls flew. Xavier sang as he dodged balls, trying not to get smacked in the face.
Hikaru actually thought the video was funny, even towards the end when Xavier was the last one of the court.
"Tell me tell me tell me what you want from me, 'cuz I don't wanna be another social causality!" He sang and threw the ball, smacking the last player in the face, winning the game. He grinned and the player who was hit threw a ball and smacked Xavier, knocking him over. "Social causality." He groaned, looking annoyed and in pain.
He instantly texted Xavier, telling him he actually liked the music video.
'Wait until you see the behind the scenes.' Was Xavier's reply, and Hikaru searched for the behind the scenes.
He found it quickly and clicked on it.
"Hi, I'm Xavier Labelle and you're watching the behind the scenes for 'Social Causality' or, what I like to call, 'The Music Video That Made Me Hate Everyone' he said with a fake smile and he was smacked with a dodgeball. "WHAT THE HELL JACK!?"
It cut to the bands being introduced one at a time, making stupid poses.
"Oh my god Jack you are so sexy!" Xavier called from behind the camera and it made Jack laugh and break from his pose.
"Get your shit together!" Alex jokingly yelled at Jack. "I know Xavier is a hot piece of ass but get it together."
"Shut up!" Xavier whined, now sounding a little embarrassed. Jack winked at the camera and blew a kiss.
It cut again, this time all the lead singers, except for Patrick because he was too nice, were throwing dodge balls at Xavier.
"I need a smoke." He growled and Alex hit him in the head. "OW!"
"That's what you get for smoking!" Alex chided him. "There are other ways to deal with stress!"
"Like hitting you with balls." Brendon smirked.
"Eh, you can't talk! You smoke in your music videos from your newer album!" Xavier argued.
"It's fakeeeeeeeeeee~!" Brendon sang as Jack accidently hit him in the crotch with a ball. "That, however, was not." He muttered as Xavier fell to his knees in pain.
"My bad." Jack said.
It cut to an outside scene, where Xavier was slowly inhaling a drag from his cigarette.
"It been rough?" The camera man asked and Xavier just looked at him.
"I'm bruised everywhere I think." He replied, exhaling the smoke. "Too many people, too many things we have to get done."
"Interesting life."
"Oh, you got that right. I can't complain, this is almost everything I ever wanted." He shrugged and inhaled again.
"Almost everything?"
"Yeah, almost."
The rest was mostly filming Xavier singing and dodging the balls quickly. Hikaru's mind stayed on the almost.
After finishing up the essay and a few other assignments, he decided to go see what the big fuss was with Tumblr.
He wish he hadn't.
The fanfiction written about them….the band imagines…they….they were horrible. People, mostly teenage girls, wrote fanfiction in which Vinny and Xavier had sex….multiple times. Or, even worse, they put themselves in the couple, and paired themselves up with Xavier.
Every one of them got Xavier's personality wrong. They made him out to be this bad boy, when he was just a huge dork who had social anxiety.
There lots of posts about Xavier and what happened with his dad. Many fans didn't understand what happened. They didn't fully grasp the concept that no, Xavier and his dad weren't going to make up. Hikaru rolled his eyes and shut his laptop, tired of it.
