Chapter 54: A Fairytale Come True

Erik's POV

Breath...breath...breath...I mental remind myself as I finished putting the suit jacket on. That's the last thing to go on and I'm all ready. George and Nate are also finished getting dressed. Checking myself in the mirror, everything is on and I'm basically ready. Grabbing a hair tie from the table, I quickly pull back my hair into a low ponytail. Yes, we are going for the Prince Adam look with the long hair but after the honeymoon, it's getting chopped off.

"Ready man?" George pats my shoulder as I finish tying my hair back. I don't answer but exhale deeply. "You alright?"

"I don't think I have ever been so nervous before in my life." I tell him.

"Wait till you have kids." He chuckles. "But hey, you are handling it way better than I was."

"I'm hiding it very well." We both chuckle. "Alright, let's go guys." Nodding, George and Nate follow me out of the room. We follow one of the workers till we reach the ceremony spot, right in front of the castle. All the seats are full with guests and the pastor is standing at the front.

"You got this man." Nate pats my back as we make our way to the front of the altar. The band is playing a soft medley in the background. The guests started to settle in their seats once they saw us standing by the altar. George is waiting with Christine while Nate is standing by me. Soon the music changes and Sofia starts coming down the aisle. Nate and I both smile at our little sister as she takes her place. Meg's turn and I glance at my brother who has the biggest grin on his face.

"Soon you'll be standing where I am." I whisper to her.

"I believe so..." He whispers back, still keeping his eyes on his girlfriend. Hearing the music change, everyone stood up and turned to the back. I could see George's head moving closer to the aisle and soon appears...with Christine next to him. The moment my eyes lay on hers, everyone around seems to fade and all I focus on is her. The dress on her is beautiful; she truly looks like a princess. I can see the wide smile on her face, matching mine. My gorgeous angel...When George hands her off to me, I whisper 'estás preciosa' (you look beautiful) to her. Her cheeks slightly blush as she bites her lip.

"We are gathered here today to witness the joining of Erik and Christine..." The pastor started. Keeping my eyes on her, I almost don't pay attention to whatever the pastor is saying. All I keep thinking is my beautiful bride is going to be my wife soon. "...now I believe Erik and Christine have come up with their own vows. Erik, if you would please say your vow to Christine." Taking a deep breath, I am going to try and not to tear up.

"My Angel...Te amo sin saber cómo, ni cuándo, ni de dónde. Te amo simplemente, sin problemas ni orgullo: te amo de esta manera porque no conozco otra forma de amar sino esta, en la que no hay yo ni tú, tan íntimo que tu mano sobre mi pecho es mi mano. tan íntimo que cuando me duermo tus ojos se cierran..." She smiles at the poem I spoke. "I never thought that I would be standing here today, but there's no other person I rather be standing up here today than you. You have changed my life since the day your parents told me about you. Since the day I held you in my arms, you had me wrapped around your finger. If y'all need proof, just look at the photo albums at the reception, there's plenty." Waiting for the laughing to stop, I continue. "You know me probably better than my own brother."

"Thanks man." Nate commented quickly.

"Anytime." I say back. "You knew my flaws and still accepted me for who I am. You took a risk choosing me and it was a risk I don't regret at all. Though we were apart, you never left my mind or my heart. And now I can almost call you my wife." She smiles big at him. "Today, in front of everyone and god, I make my promise to you. I promise to love you forever, even after death separates us. I promise that you will never go hungry and to never serve that vegan pasta recipe your friend tried to get us to eat." We both look at Meg who tries to innocently look away. "I promise to cherish you every single day and that when we fight, you will always be right even though I may be right."

"Good promise." She jokes, giggling.

"There are many other things I could promise but the biggest one is that I promise that you will always be my angel, my wife and the love of my life from this day forward." She wipes a tear from her eye.

"Christine, I believe it is your turn now." The pastor says, holding out a tissue for her. Taking it, she wipes her eyes before looking at me.

"Erik..." She takes a deep breath. Do not cry, do not cry... "You have always been there for me, whenever I needed you. And I'm sorry for all the shirts I have ruined when I was a baby or the cell phone that I apparently tossed into the pool one time." I chuckled, remember when she threw my phone into the pool. "But no matter how much stress I gave you, you still stuck around. And now, you're going to be stuck with me for life so i hope you have plenty of Advil." Everyone laughed, including myself. "No matter how much I pain in the butt I may be, know that I will always love you. And that I vow to always be there for you and love you even if death separates us. You were my first love and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." She finishes and I want nothing more than to kiss her right now, but I'll wait.

The pastor goes on with the ceremony. We decided not to have people come up and speak, about us. Meg and Nate are already gonna have their speeches at the reception so we figured no one will at the ceremony. When the pastors asks for the rings, Meg and Nate both hand him the rings.

"Erik, as you place the ring on Christine's finger, please repeat after me..." He starts.

"On this day…

I marry my best friend…

The one who shares my life, my love and my dreams.

Christine, I give you this ring

As a symbol of my love and devotion

I offer you my heart, my hand, and my love

I join my life with yours

To cherish and protect you as my wife

With all that I am…

With all that I have…

I honor you as my wife forevermore."

I slide the ring on her finger as I finish my words. Christine takes the other ring, repeating the words as she put the ring on my finger.

"Erik...Christine...I now pronounce you husband and wife. Erik, you may kiss your bride."

"Finally..." I say as I cup her cheek and kiss her. We can hear people clapping and cheering, but all I am focused on is the woman who now my wife. "Finalmente, se sella nuestro vínculo. (Finally, our bond is sealed)"
