Forty Nine- Peace at Last
When the group arrived back at the house, they had several questions to answer. Apparently, Chi really had sped up time and it had been hours. Not only that, but the women didn't feel a thing, at least, nothing like the usually did when villains attacked.
Goku told the story the best to his capability, although he was sure he got the parts dealing with magic wrong. And it was after the story that a realization finally came over them... Yami was gone, for good.
LP felt liberated. The one who took her from her family and tried so hard to use her, was dead. She could live in peace and finally be happy.
Pan felt a wave of relief. There would be no more nightmares coming to haunt her. And her son... She placed a hand on her stomach and smiled. He would grow up in peace and happiness too.
After the meal, everyone begin to retire to their rooms. Bulla was calling Lapis to tell him all the details and Goten and Marron carried a sleeping Mori up to their guest room. Trunks and Pan walked hand-in-hand to theirs.
Trunks sighed and sat on his bed once the door was shut. It was strange. In all honestly, he had only been up for maybe six hours or so, but it felt so much longer than that.
"Were you scared earlier?" He asked Pan gently as she put on one of his shirts for a nightshirt.
She sat down beside him with a small sigh. "I was scared for LP," she said honestly.
Trunks wrapped an arm around her shoulder and leaned back on the bed, bringing her with him. Her arm reached out across his chest, her hand resting above his heart. She could feel it's steady beating and it relaxed her more than anything.
"I was also scared of what might happen," she admitted quietly.
"I saw Yami aim that blast at you and everything in me stoped for a second," he murmured. "I was terrified that I'd lose you..."
Pan held onto him a bit tighter. "I was terrified that I would lose you," she repeated what he said. When he jumped in front of her, everything inside of her froze. Her heart stopped. "Well, we have some son, don't we?"
"Atlas..." Trunks nodded, remembering the name. "I wonder why she named him that...?"
Pan leaned up on her elbow to look at him with a small smile. "Atlas was said to be a powerful being who held up the heavens, or stars you could say... Since the name is widely connected with stars, I think that's why she named him that. Stars always do remind me of you. They always shined for you."
Trunks smiled softly at her and tucked a piece of her dark hair behind her ear. "They might have shined for me, Panna, but they dance for you," he whispered, his fingers finding her neck to lean her down for a kiss.
LP walked out of the guest bathroom connected to the bedroom and saw T no where in sight. Her eyebrows knitted, and she noticed the window open. She walked closer, leaning over the cushioned window seat and out the window. Glancing up, she saw him sitting on the roof above the window. Quietly, she climbed out and flew up next to him to take a seat.
He had been so quiet since they got back and she was almost afraid that he might have been mad at her. Sure, he could be the quiet type at times, but never with her...
"I thought you were going to die," his low voice spoke quietly. "That's what I thought. And you just took off on your own, without letting us come and then you put up that shield," he sighed, shaking his head. "I felt so lost, Little One. I love you so much, Pan. What would I do without you?"
"Trunks..." LP whispered. She did feel bad for rushing ahead like she done, but in her defense, she didn't know Chi would show up and out Yami in her place. She honestly thought she was saving her family... especially her Trunks.
"I couldn't let her kill everyone... not again," she mumbled. "The pain would be too much to bear. I know I shouldn't have went on my own but all I could think about was keeping everyone safe."
"I know," he told her softly. It was such a thing Pan would do, too. She was so selfish and caring. "From now on," he looked at her, "it's okay for you to be selfish, especially with me..."
LP smiled gently and crawled on top of his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck. T raised a hand and stroked her cheek lovingly before he rested it on her hip.
"You know I'm serious," he told her quietly, and LP's brows furrowed. She had a feeling that he was talking about a lot more than just his body... "This is your timeline, Little One," he began. "True, it's not exactly it, but this is what it's suppose to be... I see how happy you are with everyone... If you want to stay here-"
"Trunks!" She interrupted him, her eyes were glassy and threatened to spill out tears. "This timeline is not mine, and this wasn't how things were suppose to be for me. I believe in fate and fate led me to you!" She told him seriously. "My timeline is gone, and all I have of it are memories," she told him softly. "So it is good to see those smiling faces that I miss so much, but Trunks," she reached up and grabbed his cheeks. "You are my home now. A home that I wouldn't be able to live without."
He sighed, and rested his forehead against hers. Honestly, he had been worried that she would stay... He knew it was probably just useless worrying, but it couldn't be helped. Everyone LP had loved, was still here.
"But the one I love the most is right in front of me," she whispered as if reading his thoughts.
He kissed her, again, and again. He kissed her until her lips were sore and her body was molded against his. Never in his life would he love anyone as much as he loved her, and he wanted to prove it.
"Trunks," LP whispered, leaning back just a few inches so she could see him.
"Hm?" His eyes looked dark in he night, but she could still see the softest of blues.
"I think I want a kid now," she confessed softly.
T chuckled as he stared at her. Used to, the thought of having a kid sent chills down his spine. His world was a living hell with the androids, he couldn't bring a kid into it. Even after he fought the androids and cell, he still didn't give it much thought. He didn't have anyone special to him, so why think about it? And then Pan came... it was a few years after they started dating that he thought about it... Having a child with her. His home was at peace, and had been for a long time. She too, was now at peace.
"I do too," he told her, his arms linking around her waist and holding her tight. He smiled, his lips barely brushing hers, "marry me first and then I'll give you everything you want."
He saw the way her eyes widened and lit up. She smiled back against his lips and pressed hers against his quickly. "I just want you, and a future with you in it."
He smirked, "you got me," he whispered against her lips before capturing them.
It was a few days after the ordeal with Yami when the small group was in the Briefs backyard to send T and LP on their way back to the future. Yami was finally taken care of, and they weren't sure how much trouble and worry they had caused their Bulma and Chi-Chi, so they needed to go back to reassure them.
"I know you two have to go back, but I'm sad you're leaving," Bulma sighed as she stood in front of them.
She knew T was her son from another time but that didn't stop the bond that had formed between them the time he had came before and even now. She even felt close to LP, who had showed her how to properly attend her garden.
"Don't worry, Bulma-San," LP grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. "Apparently, time traveling is no big thing for us enchanters," she gave her a small wink. "I'm sure we'll be back to visit."
T nodded from his spot beside her. "It sure beats trying to start up the time machine," he chuckled.
"It's weird," Pan spoke up as she walked up beside LP.
Her magic was back, and it was causing her to glow... Of course, it could be because of the little extra magic she had growing inside of her, too. She was still small, but those who knew, could see the beginning of a small bump on her middle.
Pan glanced at LP and smiled. "I feel like I've gained a sister."
"I've always wanted a sister," LP grinned.
"Me too," Pan giggled. "You're serious about visiting again, right?"
"Mhm!" LP nodded with a promise. "T and I both would love to come back and see everyone again."
"Well, come back anytime," Trunks told them softly as he gave his counterpart's back a pat. "We'll miss you guys."
"He's right," Gohan agreed. "We'll miss you two. Come back, anytime..."
LP gave Gohan a small nod. She patted the bag beside her. It contained a few items that her and T had collected their short stay there... Mostly, it was photos... Photos of their families.
"Okay," a new voice said, and everyone turned to see Lapis touching down in the Briefs backyard. "Bulla has been blowing up my phone. What's this about Trunks and-" he stopped upon seeing T and his eyes widened. "Oh shit..."
"You were serious," T glanced at Trunks in horror. "She's really dating that thing?"
Lapis frowned, "Wow... I'm right here, ya little monster."
"Lapis," Bulla grabbed her boyfriend's arm. "Don't start it. T-nii has dealt with enough and Tru-nii hasn't helped any."
Trunks chuckled, "maybe by the time you guys come back, you'll be used to it."
T shuddered as LP grabbed his hand. "I highly doubt that," he muttered.
"Are you ready?" LP asked him with a soft smile.
He gave her nod, his own smile twitching on his lips. "Let's go home..."
Pan watched LP and T leave with a sad smile. She tried not to be too sad, since LP had said that they would come back to visit, but she would miss her, that's for sure. Trunks wrapped an arm around her shoulders, and held her close. Their eyes met and they shared a smile.
"We'll see them again," he promised her, kissing her temple.
"Mhm!" She agreed with a nod. "Now that everything is done... I guess we should continue planing the our wedding then, huh?"
Trunks smirked, "that sounds like a plan to me, Panna. Have you decided on the date yet?" He raised a lavender eyebrow. He had told her as soon as they began to plan all the details that he didn't care when they got married- whether it be a week, a month or a year from then- just as long as they were getting married.
"Yeah, lets get married next week," she told him in all seriousness. "I want to do it before I get real big."
Trunks blinked, okay... maybe he wasn't exactly expecting that to be her answer, but... he wasn't going to complain. He grinned, "Oi, Bull," he called, gaining his sister's attention. "Panna and I need your help. We're going to be to getting married next weekend."
Bulla started shrieking... Along with Bulma, Videl, Chi-Chi and Marron.
Pan glanced up at Trunks and he gave her a small grin and a shrug. With a giggle she wrapped her arms around his middle and watched as the women began to vigorously plan a wedding in such a short amount of time.
Trunks sighed happily as he held Pan tight. Now that Yami was taken care of and the wedding was on its way, he couldn't be happier. It was hard to believe that all had happened just because Pan had stayed a week with him... How thankful he would forever be for that week that helped them fall in love.
Mirai Timeline
Trunks and Pan landed on the ground of Bulma's basement with a light thud. Pan rubbed her bottom with a small grimace. Her time-traveling skills weren't perfect and so, they had stumbled a bit upon landing.
"Are you okay?" Trunks asked as he got up and dusted himself up. He reached out a hand towards her and she took it gratefully
"I'm fine," she dusted her pants off as well. She glanced around, everything seemed perfectly... normal? Like nothing had even happened. The roof was still intact, all the machines of Bulma's inventions seemed to be beeping and running just like they should.
"Come on, my Mom is probably here somewhere," Trunks took her hand and they began walking up the basement stairs.
Pan had an inkling suspicion that Chi was the one behind fixing everything up in the lab. She figured her counterpart probably fixed it as soon as her and Trunks disappeared. Pan had to admit, that was super thoughtful and nice of Chi to do, and she appreciated it.
"Ah," Chi-Chi greeted them as they walked into the kitchen as she cooked. Bulma glanced up from the table as she read a magazine. "There you two are."
"Did you guys have a nice walk?" Bulma raised a blue eyebrow. "Chi-Chi was beginning to fret since it was getting chilly."
Trunks and Pan shared a surprised look. Not only had Chi restored the building, but apparently, she had erased the other ladies memories... As far as they were concerned, the two of them had been out enjoying a stroll, not time jumping.
"The walk was lovely," Trunks was the first to speak.
"Yes," Pan nodded slowly. She wasn't sure how much her grandmother or Bulma didn't know now, but she assumed it really didn't matter. Not anymore, anyways. Yami was gone, and she would never be heard from again.
"Little One and I were talking on our stroll," Trunks began, pulling Pan slightly closer to him. "Once I get a proper ring for her, we're going to get married."
Pan felt her cheeks becoming warm as a smile split across her face. So he was serious about what he had said the other night! She had hoped he was!
Chi-Chi gasped in surprise, dropping the spoon she was holding and Bulma's eyes grew wide. "Really?!" They spoke together in excitement.
"Mhm," Pan nodded in confirmation.
"Ah!" The women squealed, both of them rushing over to the two to hug them.
Pan laughed as their arms wrapped around her and Trunks. They were already fretting over the wedding and she couldn't help but feel extremely blessed. All of the things that had happened in her life, lead her to where she was at, and as she glanced up at Trunks, she couldn't help but think about how happy she was to be home.
A/N: The next chapter will be Chi's timeline. She will be referred to as Pan, since that is her name. It will also be be last chapter.
