What happened last:
With Finn still missing, the war has begun. Maja is sending a group to test the combat abilities of the Candy Kingdom and its allies. Now the only big problem, aside from the obvious ones, is that Finn is trying to leave the Fire Kingdom to defend the Candy Kingdom and Flame Princess is getting in the way of that.
At the Fire Kingdom
FP: "Ok, Finn… so what's it gonna be?" She said as she placed on of her hands on her hips in a provocative way.
Finn swallowed hard and realized that there weren't many ways out of his situation, but there was one that he knew would work…
F: "W-well… I haven't thought about it too much but I guess I'm open to ideas…" He didn't know how to approach the situation so he remained neutral.
FP: "Is that so?" She said as she began to smile.
FP: "Guards, leave us be. I'll take it from here." She said commandingly.
The guards acknowledged what she said and quickly left the room, leaving only Finn and the fiery princess. Once they were alone in the room, the princess took off her crown and her flame hair fell down along her shoulders and back.
FP: "Ahhh! Much better." She said as if she felt more relaxed just by "letting her hair down".
She began to walk around the lantern that was holding Finn captive, dragging her finger along the glass as she went.
FP: "Soo, Finn…"
F: "Y-yeah?"
FP: How have you been?"
F: "I've been… good." It was obvious that Finn was nervous. Not because Flame Princess was making him nervous, but because he had to get back to the Candy Kingdom and any mistake that he made could possibly keep him trapped here. Thus, dooming the inhabitants of Ooo.
FP: "Well, it doesn't sound like it. To me, it sounds like you're nervous about something. Is something on your mind?"
F: "No. Nothing really… just you…" He forced those words out of his mouth. He wanted to tell FP about the real problem but he strongly believed that she wouldn't even care. She is evil by nature, so why would she?
She looked at him for a second as if she was trying to read the expressions on his face, then gave up.
FP: "Well, if you're sure then, ok. I trust you."
She kept circling around the lantern for a short moment then stopped.
FP: "So, now that the formalities are out of the way... I must ask… have you honestly put some thought into being my king?"
F: "To be honest princess, no… I've been soo preoccupied with everything that I haven't had time to even have time to myself." He tried his best to be at least partially honest while not completely telling the truth.
FP: "Well, that saddens me a bit. But that's ok. I can't possibly be the only person on your mind, can I?" She asked rhetorically with a slight smile on her face.
Finn began to blush slightly. The only person on his mind was Marceline and everything about her makes him happy. Too bad Flame Princess thought he was blushing about her.
FP: "Oh Finn… it was always soo cute when you blushed." She was looking at him intently. Finn could see her eyes burning passionately for him. At least he thought that it was for him and not for another reason.
He didn't know what to say, he just kept blushing but now it was from slight embarrassment.
Flame Princess instantly used her fire abilities to place herself into the lantern. In a flash of light and fire, she was standing right next to him. It happened soo fast that it caught Finn off guard. He knew that she could do this; it just surprised him because he knew what she wanted…
FP: "Finn… when's the last time that you've... been with someone?"
He knew exactly what she meant, and it send a nervous shock through his body.
F: "I-I… don't know…"
She got closer to him and her clothes began to slowly disintegrate into very thin and slightly revealing undergarments.
F: "Oh crud… not again…" He thought to himself. He knew that he was in a bad situation, but he knew no other way out.
FP: "Well… do you want to be with someone…?" She said as she got in close and placed one of her hands on his chest. The flame shield protected Finn from heat and fire but he could still feel how warm she felt.
Her eyes were playing tricks with his mind. They burned bright and contained a passionate fire. It was much harder to not appreciate her beauty when she was this close. Everything about her was beautiful and passionate but Finn had to remember that it was just a façade most of the time.
F: "Maybe I do…" He was nervous and felt wrong for what he was doing but he knew that he had to start sounding convincing eventually. Because the princess would think that he was lying or bluffing if he kept avoiding her the whole time.
She began to grow much brighter than before. It was obvious that she liked what Finn was saying because she was almost melting the thick glass that she was standing on.
FP: "Do you know why I was never able to escape from this lantern, Finn?" She changed the subject but she kept leaning in closer.
F: "No. Not really."
Flame Princess looked away as if she was going to tell Finn something that made her sad. Her eyes were pointed towards the ground and her face became very serious.
FP: "For my entire life, while I was trapped in here, there was never anything that could make my flame grow bright enough to make this glass melt. No amount of anger, sadness or loneliness was ever good enough. But now-" She looked back into his eyes.
F: "-you found that someone to make your flame grow brighter than it ever has…" He finished her sentence and that's all he needed to do.
She began to get hotter and hotter, making the glass beneath her feet glow bright red. She was feeling a strong passionate feeling for Finn and all she wanted was to get closer to him. But it didn't seem to be quite enough… something more was needed to make her burn hot enough to melt through the glass.
She walked towards him and her footsteps made the glass glow bright red as it was on the verge of melting. She just needed to grow just a bit brighter…
In that moment, Finn's mind made a very important decision. He knew that what he needed to do in order to get out of here was bad but… if he did nothing then the Candy Kingdom might as well have already been doomed.
He knows what he cares for most and he knows what matters most to him. He would give his own life to preserve another. And what matters most right now is the preservation of the Candy Kingdom. He had to return to Princess Bubblegum and take his place as the most lethal warrior in the war.
It was do or everyone will die.
Finn took advantage of the dramatically intense moment and grabbed the princess around her hips. He tried his best to control all of her body movement.
All Flame Princess could do was inhale deeply from the surprise of Finn's assertiveness before he whipped her around and slammed her against the glass. She immediately flared up white-hot and began melting the glass as Finn had expected. He just had to make her think that he would do something and she would burn hot enough to escape. Deception wasn't one of the things that Finn liked to take part in, but sometimes it was necessary. And that made him think of something that Princess Bubblegum told him once when she was explaining her leadership philosophy to him.
"Two wrongs may not make a right but sometimes one wrong can save a life."
~Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum
Flame Princess was loving everything that Finn was doing. She loved his aggression. His assertiveness… His anger…
Caught in the moment, Finn didn't pay attention to the fact that his methods were working quite effectively. He kept going in order to really make sure.
He pressed his lips against hers and he could swear that his skin began to burn regardless of being protected by a flame shield. She began to burn at immeasurable levels. The glass lantern began to slowly melt all around them and turn into a pile of liquid glass.
The fiery princess wrapped her arms around Finn's neck and pulled him in closer. He felt as if he was drunk on his sins and lost in his mistakes. He could honestly feel his heart begin to become shrouded in darkness. And he couldn't tell if that even bothered him…
Evil began to plant its seeds in the Hero's Heart.
Finn responded with Flame Princess's advance by tightly gripping around her head and pulling her in tighter. It wasn't about being "convincing" anymore to Finn. He was just doing whatever his body felt like doing. He was being reckless and stupid and he didn't even whole-heartedly mean it.
He felt as if he lost his mind in this random deceptive moment but he caught himself. He did his best to make it look natural as he pushed the beautiful princess away and bring a halt to their embrace. His lips felt as if they were sun burnt once their kiss stopped.
Once his mind became less blurry from corruption, he regained his bearings and realized that his back was to the exit. He quickly brainstormed on how he would escape but nothing seemed logical enough. He completed step one of his grand escape plan but step two didn't seem to be something that would be possible. Turning around and running couldn't possibly work, Flame Princess would surely catch him.
He gave up entirely and said what he was trying to achieve the whole time. He felt like an idiot but he didn't know what else to do.
F: "Flame Princess…" He said, sounding out of breath as his lips were close enough to graze hers.
FP: "What is it, my king?" She said with content saturating her voice. She was burning brightly.
F: "I-…I want to leave… please." He didn't know what to say at all. He felt defeated and powerless.
FP: "Why, Finn? Is something wrong?" She seemed genuinely concerned but somehow… not surprised.
F: "Yes… the Candy Kingdom is under attack and I need to be there to help."
FP: "Ok then. Leave. "She cutely shrugged her shoulders and spoke with honesty.
He just looked at her with confusion. He didn't understand why she would go through the trouble of kidnapping him just to let him go on request. He slowly backed away from her and walked towards the exit while maintaining eyesight of the princess. Eventually he turned his back Flame Princess.
She did not intend any sort of deception; she was being honest and genuine.
FP: "Finn…" She sounded as if she wanted to declare some final words before he left.
He turned around looked at her with tired eyes. This emotional rollercoaster has taken a lot out of him but he knows that he can't rest now. He has to prepare for a war that has already begun without him.
FP: "*sigh* I don't even know where to start. So uh…" She sounded as if she was about to cry.
FP: "Sorry for acting crazy. I didn't really mean for the guards to take you like they did. I know I said something about sleeping gas but I never told them to use that nor did I ever tell them to force you to come here."
F: "I can't lie FP… I'm not convinced that you're telling the truth…" He almost felt bad for not believing her, but he had to be honest.
FP: "Well, I can't really blame you for not believing me. I'm evil remember?" Her eyes began to tear up with liquid fire.
FP: "And the reason why my guards acted as… assertive as they did was because they fear me. They have a terrible fear in their hearts of not completing a task that I tell them to do. I don't really quite understand it…" She felt a bit down that her people feared her soo much.
Flame Princess didn't seem to know why the fire people of the Fire Kingdom were deathly afraid of her but Finn knew. He knew it's because she has such a volatile temper. Any little thing could set her off and make her a terrifyingly unstoppable and destructive force. She's always been that way and will probably never change.
Finn didn't know what else to say, his mind was set on leaving and that's all he wanted to do. Part of him wanted to walk back over to her and comfort her but he just looked at the tired and lonely princess, waiting for her to stop talking so that he could leave. She looked into his eyes one last time before letting him leave the Fire Kingdom.
FP: "Heh… I can tell that you want to leave. Go, Finn. Fight your battle. And I'm sorry to say that I cannot provide fire people for your war. They wouldn't rally behind the non-evil cause and morale would be horrible. I mean, I'm the princess and I could force them to fight but... it wouldn't really end soo well."
F: "O-ok…" He was a bit confused. She seemed to have known about the war this whole time and she didn't act as if she knew. She must have avoided bringing it up just to have her way with Finn; or at least to try and have her way with him…
Finn turned and ran out of the castle and made his way towards the Candy Kingdom. Once again, he's leaving the Fire Kingdom with a heavy heart full of regret. Once he was out of sight, the princess called her guards.
Flame princess quickly materialized all of her proper clothing and placed her crown back on her head before calling her guards back in.
FP: "Guards!" She yelled in her commanding voice and the same guards from before showed up and stood at attention in silence, waiting for a command.
She felt a wave of intense emotions full her heart with rage. She clenched her fists and large streams of white-hot flames were materializing from her body. She was attempting to control her emotions but that was never possible for her.
She looked at the two guards waiting for a command. Flames were coming from her eyes and she burned brightly with anger and hatred. She shot a powerful volley of flames at the guard on the left, essentially disintegrating him. The other guard did not move, he just stood still and hoped that she would not destroy him as well. He knew that if he moved he would already be dead so he was doomed either way.
The princess didn't destroy the other guard; she just created a wall of flames around him, to make her seem more intimidating than she already was, and slowly approached the frightened guard.
FP: "I'm leaving but I'll be back soon. Hold down the kingdom until I get back." She said in a stern voice and the flames around them quickly dispersed. The guard just saluted the princess. His whole body was shaking from fear but he did his best to remain still.
With that, Flame Princess disappeared in a fiery explosion of flames. Her anger was showing and she didn't bother to hide it. She was the princess so she can do whatever she wants.
She intends on helping out in the fight. Even though her people wouldn't fight with vigor doesn't mean that she won't. After all, if Finn died then she would never be able to find a way to make him king. But now is the time to fight and worry about the politics of her kingdom later.
Somewhere in the Grasslands
Finn was sprinting his heart out, he was in shape but he was running as hard as he could. He couldn't get the thoughts of what could happen to all the people that he loves out of his head.
Marceline could be dying right now for all he knows.
Or Jake…
Or Princess Bubblegum…
He was in pain from running but his fears were enough to keep him running. He couldn't stop now. He had to protect everyone. Anything that happens to anyone would be all his fault.
