Book 2:

Through eternity & bloodlust: The Return

Chapter.10

I just stood there at the door with my suitcase, in front of Kol, who just stared at me, until he finally reacted.

- What? –he asked and his eyes widned.

- Can I stay with you?

- I just heard that. –he said. –Why?

- Well, if you don't want me to stay here, I can leave. –I tried to walk away, but he grabbed my arm.

- No, it's not that. –he stopped me. –Are you sure about it? You really want to stay here? Why? –he looked straight into my eyes. –What happened? Why did you leave Nik's house? –I remained silent. –Alexadra, what happened? What made you leave?

- Can I come in? –I asked. Kol nodded and let me come in. We walked to the living room, I left the suitcase on the floor, took of my jacket and we sat on the sofa.

- What happened?

- I shouldn't have come here. –I tried to stand up, but Kol didn't let me.

- Sit down. –he said in a calmed tone. –Now, tell me what is going on? –he then looked down at my dress and his eyes widened when he saw the blood. –Why is your dress soaked in blood? –his tone had suddenly changed. –Who has done that to you?

- Who do you think?

- Niklaus… –he murmured and then I heard him growl. –Why did he do it? –his fists clenched.

- He wanted to know where you were. He said he had some unfinished business with you; he wants to dagger you, Kol. I didn't tell him where you were. And well, he got mad and drove the dagger through my stomach and told me to tell you that the dagger was waiting for you.

- I'm going to kill him.

- I decided to leave. I'm tired of his threats and his constantly arguing. I can't stand it anymore. –I paused. –I could have gone somewhere else, it wouldn't have been a problem, but I felt the need to come here. –I looked down.

- You can stay here if you want. The house is big enough; we can share it without annoying each other, or at least try.

- Are you really sure about that? –I asked.

- Yes, why not? We have already lived together.

- Yes, but this situation is different. We might end up killing each other, well I'm sure that's what is going to happen.

- I can't die, darling. –he smirked. I rolled my eyes and punched him in the arm.

- You know what I mean. We aren't exactly friends or lovers as we used to be… And we just started getting along after everything. There's still some tension between us. And we both have very strong personalities.

- Hey, if you don't want to stay here, you don't have to. –he said.

- KOL! –I raised my voice.

- There's the door. –he pointed at it. I growled and threw myself on him and hit him in the head. –Hey, I was joking! –he said and I pulled away.

- You are an idiot. –he frowned and pointed again at the door. I threw him a glare and he just laughed. –It's not funny.

- It is. I love how you get mad. –he laughed again. –Well, pick a room. You are in your house. But, please, don't pick mine. –I rolled my eyes, picked my suitcase and went upstairs to search for a room. I finally found one, it was big enough and I really liked it, the decoration was also really good. I entered the room and left my suitcase there. I started to put my clothes in the wardrobe and decided to take a bath and changed my dress.

I was bored and decided to go downstairs.

- Kol? –I called him.

- Mr. Mikaelson has left. He said he would be back in an hour. –said one of the servants.

- Thank you. Could you do me favour? –I asked her before she left.

- Of course, tell me.

- Come here, please. –I told her and she walked to me. I grabbed her arm and pulled her closer. My face changed and I sank my fangs in her neck and started drinking from her. I really needed this.

When I finished draining her I let her fall on the floor and called another servant, this time a male, to come and get rid of the body, of course I had to compel him first, because he was horrified.

After that I went to the living room, grabbed a bottle of bourbon and threw myself on the sofa and started drinking from it.

But all of a sudden there was a knock on the door.

One of the servants went to open the door, and I heard a voice talking. I was curious to see who it was and flashed to the hall and saw Mary there. I rolled my eyes.

- What do you want? –I asked in a cold tone.

- What are you doing here? –she looked disgusted of my presence.

- I live here.

- You what? –she looked surprised and then she snorted. –Where is Kol? –she walked inside.

- He's not here.

- I'll wait for him. –she went to the living room and sat on the sofa.

- Who said you could stay here?

- I don't need permission from anyone. And stop being so annoying you little girl.

- Little girl? I'm older than you, you idiot.

- Yeah, but you are not that strong anymore. I heard you died and came back as a human. You have nothing to do against me. –she laughed.

- Does anyone stand you? –I asked.

- Kol does. –she smirked. I felt furious and I suddenly flashed to her and grabbed her by the throat.

- I don't want you in my house. You are not welcome here.

- Who says that? –I put more pressure, but she pushed me away and laughed. –I told you that I'm stronger. You can't win. –I growled from the floor.

- We will see that. –I stood up.

- Do you think that Kol wants you back? –she laughed. –He doesn't. He wants me. I'm much better. –my face changed into my vampire one and I ran to her and we started fighting.

We flashed all over the room, she was stronger, but I wasn't going to let her win, no. I was going to fight. Who did she think she was? She wasn't going to come to my house and talk to me like that. I wanted her dead.

I pushed her against the wall and kept her there. She tried to use one of her hands to grab my throat, but before she did I broke it. She let out a cry and I smirked. Her pain satisfied me.

- Oh, poor of you. –I laughed.

- Bitch. –she growled. –You're dead.

- I'm already dead. –she pushed me away and I saw her running to me. I dodge her and she crashed against the shelf.

I walked to her and saw her sitting up. She was groaning.

- I told you. You don't come her and treat me like shit. You are no one. –I bent down and grabbed her by the throat; I stood up and looked at her.

- You are so jealous… It makes me laugh.

- Jealous? –I put some more pressure.

- Kol will never want you back. –I shook my head and laughed at her words. –He's mine.

And all of a sudden I was pushed against the floor. Mary hovering over me, and I didn't know how, but she had a stake in her hands.

- Last words, little Alexandra? –I felt the stake piercing my skin and I cried out in pain. –I will get rid of you. –I tried to fight her, but at this moment I couldn't. I was in pain. And she was ready to kill me. I closed my eyes and I heard a loud crack, and felt something falling next to me. I opened my eyes and saw Mary lying there unconscious. I looked up and saw Kol standing there; he bent down and pulled the stake out. I groaned. He offered me his hand, I grabbed it and he helped me stand up.

- Are you okay? –he asked.

- If I'm okay? That crazy bitch just tried to kill me! –I raised my voice.

- What is she doing here?

- She came to see you. –Kol rolled his eyes. –She wants to be with you and wants me out of the way.

- I will make sure she doesn't come close to you.

- I can defend myself. –I complained.

- Well, I didn't see that. She would have driven a stake through your heart if it wasn't for me.

- I was doing fine until that moment. I was in control. I'm strong.

- Not as strong as her. –I growled. I never liked being inferior to someone.

- You know nothing. –I grabbed the stake from the floor and flashed to him. I was going to demonstrate him of what I was able.

I was about to stake him, when he grabbed my arm, pulled me closer to his body, turned me around so my back was against his chest. With one quick move he took the stake from my hand, he immobilized it so I couldn't defend myself and then pointed at my heart with the stake.

- And you're dead. –he whispered in my ear from behind. The tip of the stake touched my chest and I gasped, but nothing happened he just let it there. –See? You have nothing to do. –I snorted.

- Are you saying I'm weak? –I complained.

- I'm not saying that. –he made me turn around so we were face to face, and he put the hand with the stake down.

- I miss being an original. I was respected and was strong. Now I'm weak and pathetic. –I sat on the sofa.

- Alexandra… –I didn't even bother to look at him.

- It's okay. Leave it. –I said.

After a while of remaining silent, we heard someone groaning. Mary was waking up. I stood up and looked at her, who was still on the floor.

- Took you long enough. –I said. She turned around and looked at me.

- You bitch. –she was about to flash to me, when Kol grabbed her by the throat and stopped her.

- Where do you think you're going? –he smirked at her.

- Let me go. –she complained and tried to lose herself from his grip. –Why are you defending her? I thought we had something. –Kol laughed.

- You and I? –she nodded. –We had nothing Mary. Just a fling. You really think I would want to be with you?

- But Kol… –she groaned when he put more pressure on her throat.

- Shut up, Mary, you are annoying me, and you know how I can be when I'm annoyed, and it's not good. You better not test me.

- Are you really going to hurt me? –Kol smirked at her question and then pushed her against the wall.

- You already know me.

- Why do you defend her? –she asked and looked at me. I just stood there.

- You are annoying me, Mary.

- What did you see in her?

- She was there even before you were born.

- And what? I'm much better. Don't you remember how much fun we used to have together when she wasn't around? How I made you feel? You loved sex with me. –my blood was boiling. I could already feel the black veins under my eyes and the fangs coming out. I flashed to her and Kol and pushed him a little bit away and then I drove my hand through her chest, reaching her heart and squeezing it in my hands. She let out a cry.

- Shut up. –I growled.

- Are… you going… to kill me? –she asked.

- Do you have a death wish? –I asked, still with my vampire face.

- Kol… –she called him. She was begging for his help. I smirked, knowing he wouldn't help her, but suddenly his hand was on mine, he squeezed it, hurting me and making me release her heart and then he pulled my hand out of her chest. I looked shocked at him. Why was he helping her?

- Thank you, Kol. –she smiled. And then I heard her crying in pain. I looked down and saw that Kol had driven a stake through her stomach.

- You're welcome. –he smirked. –If you come near us again, I won't be that good. I will just kill you. And you know that I will do it. So try to stay as far away as possible, because I will go for you. –he pushed the stake further in and she groaned. –Do you understand? –he asked very close to her ear.

- Y…Yes.

- Fine. –he pulled the stake out with a quick move. –Now… LEAVE. And don't come back. –Mary flashed out of the house and I turned around and looked at Kol.

- I was going to kill her.

- Yeah, I saw that.

- Why didn't you let me do it? –I felt furious.

- Oh, it was funnier to see her face, she was so scared, she thought she was going to die. –he laughed. –She won't annoy us anymore.

- Are you sure of that? Or will she come back like Monica did? Because I have not forgotten about that, you know.

- Oh, come on that was a long time ago. And Mary won't come back and if she does, I'll just kill her like I said.

- You could have let me do that now. But now she's around, and she will come again. She wants you, Kol. She's obsessed. I don't even know how you could have something with her. –I said the last part in a whisper. I turned around and was about to leave, when he grabbed my arm and made me face him again.

- What is going on with you? –he asked examining my face.

- Nothing. –I tried to release myself from his grip, but he didn't let me. I kept on pulling. All of a sudden he brought me closer to his body and crashed his lips on mine. I was in shock in that moment. What was going on? Was this real?

I still tried to react and move away from him, but something didn't let me. After a while, Kol pulled away and stared at me.

I was still in shock. I didn't know what to do. So, I just flashed away from him and headed upstairs and locked myself in the bedroom.

I still couldn't believe what had happened.

I was lying on the bed when I heard a knock on the door. I didn't even bother to sit up; I just lay there and remained silent for a while. I heard another knock.

- Alexandra, open the door. We need to talk. –it was Kol. I still ignored him. –Alexandra. I know you're in there. I hear you breathing. –Okay then. –he said after a while and suddenly I heard a loud noise and saw Kol there, he had broken the door. I stood up and looked at him.

- Are you-? –he didn't even let me finish because he appeared in front of me and crashed his lips against mine. My eyes were wide open. I felt his hands all over my body bringing me closer to him.

I couldn't help it and after a while I let myself go and kissed him back, my hands went to his hair to play with it and I didn't let him pull away.

He walked us to the bed and pulled away, he pushed me on it and then I felt his body on mine. He kissed my neck and went down to my collarbone, while his hands caressed my body. I let out a moan.

His lips went up again, kissing mine and he ran his tongue along my bottom lip, I opened my mouth and his tongue found mine, there it started a fight for dominance.

My hands were still tangled in his hair, but one of them slowly went down and playing with the end of his shirt, he knew what I wanted and pulled away and let me take off his shirt, with one quick move it was laying on the floor. Kol's lips went back to mine, we kissed for a while, until he moved away and left a trail of kissed from my lips to my neck. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment. All of a sudden I felt him biting my skin very hard and I opened my eyes.

I looked around and I realised I was alone in bed, I touched my neck and there was no biting marks there.

It had all been a dream. I tried to see if it was Kol who was playing with my mind, but he wasn't. It was all in my head. Why did I dream that?

Was this what my mind wanted? I tried to shake all those thoughts away.

It was very warm, or at least that was the feeling I had. Was I turned on?

I covered my face, I was embarrassed.

He still had such a power on me, even in dreams and I didn't like that.

I stood up and walked out of the bedroom. I went downstairs and didn't find Kol anywhere. Maybe he had gone out to have some fun. I shook my head.

I walked out of the house; I needed to go for a walk. It was already very dark, but I didn't mind at all.

I walked for a while, I was already far away from the house, so I decided to turn around.

- Walking alone? –I turned around and saw Marcel standing there.

- Marcel. –I smiled at him. –What are you doing here?

- I was heading home. And you?

- I couldn't sleep.

- Want me to keep you company? –he asked. I nodded and we started walking again, this time we headed to the woods. It was very calm there.

We spent a while talking about a lot of things, and also about how Klaus had reacted after I left, all the Mary drama…

But I didn't tell him what had happened with Kol, not until now.

- Kol kissed me. –I said. Marcel turned around and looked at me shocked.

- What?

- Yes. I was mad at him because he didn't let me kill Mary and I was going to leave, I needed to clear my mind. And he didn't let me go. And the next thing I remember is him kissing me.

- What did you do?

- I was shocked, I flashed away from there. And then I had a dream about him, but it was so real.

- That's why you couldn't sleep. –he said. I nodded.

- I'm sorry for telling you all this… I know you… You like me. But I needed to get it out from my chest. I'm so confused.

- What do you feel? –he walked to me.

- I don't know. He hurt me really bad, but I think part of me still loves him, or that's what I think. Ugh, I don't know. –my hands went to my head and I walked away. I sighed. –Feelings, who needs them? –I paused. –And here I am, telling you my drama while you feel something for me. I'm an awesome person. –I said with sarcasm. –That's not fair on you.

- Alexandra… Don't worry.

- Yes, I do worry. –I threw my hands in the air. –I need Rebekah right now. –I complained.

- Why don't you go to Kol and tell him how you feel? You know how you really feel; you just try to hide it.

- WHAT? NO! That's not an option. –I even walked further away and leant against a tree. I got lost in my thoughts for a while.

- You need to do something. –I heard Marcel, but his voice came from far away, I was so concentrated in my thoughts that I didn't realize what was going on. –ALEXANDRA! –I heard Marcel shouting. I opened my eyes and looked around. –BE CAREFUL! –I didn't know what was going on. I looked in front of me and saw a werewolf that came to me. I tried to move, but it was too late and my reaction was too slow, and it threw himself on me, making me fall on the floor and biting me on the shoulder. I let out a loud cry and tried to fight him. –HEY YOU! –Marcel shouted. –the werewolf stopped hurting me and ran to him. But it never caught Marcel, because we heard a loud howling and the wolf ran away from there.

I lay on the floor and cried in pain. I started to panic, because I realized a werewolf had bit me, and it meant that I was going to die, there wasn't a cure for this.

I had already heard what happened when a werewolf bit a vampire, it was lethal. Not for an original, they would heal after some time, but this wasn't my case.

So, I just lay there crying and wishing that this was all a nightmare and that when I would wake up I would be lying in bed.

- Alexandra. –I heard Marcel running to me. –Are you okay?

- The wolf bit me. –he moved the strap of my dress away and saw the wound. His eyes widened. –It will heal, right? –he asked.

- No, Marcel. It won't. Werewolf bites are lethal for vampires.

- There has to be something. –he looked very concerned. –Let's take you home. –he picked me up.

- No, take me to Kol please. –I begged. I had already told him where we were living now and I wanted him to take me there. I saw him nodding and he used his vampire speed to run away from there.

I had my eyes closed because I was feeling dizzy, but for the scent I could already tell we were close.

Marcel stopped and knocked on the door impatiently.

- KOL! –he shouted.

We heard the door open.

- What are you doing here? –I could already smell the alcohol. He had been drinking. –And what are you doing with Alexa? –I heard him growling. I groaned in pain, the bite hurt.

- Kol… –I called his name.

- A werewolf bit her in the woods. –I heard a bottle of glass breaking into a million pieces; he must have been holding it. –React, Kol! We need to lay her down. She's weak. –Marcel walked into the house and then he flashed upstairs into a bedroom.

I felt the soft mattress under me.

- How was it? –I heard Kol speak.

- We were in the woods; I had found her while I was heading home. And a wolf appeared. It was my entire fault, I should have reacted quicker.

- Yes, you should have saved her. –I saw Kol grabbing Marcel from the shirt and pulling him closer.

- Kol… Don't. It's not his fault, he couldn't do anything. We didn't see it coming. I was blocked. Don't blame him. –I coughed. Kol let Marcel go.

- I should better leave. –said Marcel.

- Marcel. –I called him. –Thank you. –he nodded and closed the door.

Kol walked to the bed and sat on it.

- How are you feeling? –he asked. –You are going to be okay. –he grabbed my hand.

- I'm dying, Kol.
