Which way to go?

"There has to be another way..." Phoebe said sobbing.

Her future self shook her head in frustration. "No, I told you. I tried to save him, but I failed. You need to believe me, please..." she said in angst.

"But we're engaged, he forgave me. All that nightmare is in the past. And Piper... Oh my God, she's my sister... They can't be together. It's wrong in so many levels..." Phoebe said firmly.

Future Phoebe sighed heavily and closed her eyes. "So he'll die... There's nothing more I can do. I tried everything to save him and this was my last effort."

"How will he die? My premonition wasn't so clear... I just saw his blood in my hands, I was begging him to wake up..."

Future Phoebe stepped back. "It's complicated..."

"Complicated? What does that mean?" Phoebe asked frowning. "Oh no... Don't tell me I have something to do with his death. I'm the responsible, I mean... I'm the only one who will kill him?"

"No... It's not that," her future self said and a wave of relief washed over her. "But he'll die, no matter how hard you try to change it... And go back in time just made things worse."

Phoebe raised an eyebrow. "Waite a minute, did you travel back in time before?"

"More than once... I told you that I've tried everything in order to save him, but I failed. And now I'm pretty sure why. Even though my intentions were good, my actions had unforeseen consequences. The last time was the worse and the future I created... Oh God, you have no idea... Then I finally understood that I was travelling back to the wrong point in time... Because everything started here, this night. You need to believe me... There's no other way."

"So we're not meant to be together, huh?" Phoebe asked, clearing her throat. Her future self nodded and she continued. "And what am I supposed to do about it?"

"You need to let it go," her future self said.

"No... I won't, not now. I'll figure out a way to save him," she said firmly, wiping a tear away.

Future Phoebe closed her eyes. "So, there's no hope... I don't have another choice," she said, grabbing a little vial of red liquid.

Phoebe looked at her in disbelief. "Are you insane? You'll try to vanquish me?!"

"No... Yes... It's complicated..." she said and drank the potion.

Almost instantly, she moaned in pain and dropped to the floor.

"What did you do?" Phoebe asked in concern.

"I won't go back to that horrible world... I won't to go back to that hell," her future said, before disappearing.

Phoebe felt her stomach turn. What the hell just happened here?, she thought. Why did she refuse to come back alive to her world?

She turned to the sink and splashed her face with cold water. It won't happen, she let out in a whisper staring at herself in the mirror. She pulled in a breath and looked around her. There was no signal of her future self in that place anymore.

It won't happen...

I can thix this...

Phoebe walked slowly down stairs and through into the living room.

"We're worried about you," Cole said softly. "What happened?"

Phoebe let out a slight smile. "It's not a big deal... I just felt a little sick, that's all... But I'm fine now."

"Are you sure?" Piper asked in concern.

Phoebe nodded. "Yeah... thank you..."

The rest of the dinner went relatively smoothly and Phoebe tried to forget, at least for that moment, what happened in the bathroom. She would save Cole... There has to be another way, she thought.

"It was a beautiful night, sweetie," Victor said softly, hugging her.

"Thank you, dad..." she said emotionally.

"I hope you find your happiness this time. And you..." her father said turning to Cole. "I just want my daughter's happiness. Please, don't screw everything this time."

Cole sighed. "I'll try..." he replied, glancing at Phoebe.

Phoebe left her father's arm and hugged Cole tightly. "We'll be happy, dad. Don't worry!"

Victor nodded. "I hope so..."

"Well, thank you, guys, for the lovely night," Phoebe said, turning to her sisters.

"You're welcome, sweetie," Piper said softly.

After dinner, Phoebe and Cole went back to his penthouse.

"Are you really okay?" Cole asked.

Phoebe nodded. "yeah, don't worry. I told you, I just felt a little sick, that's all."

Cole raised a eyebrow. "It seemed a premonition to me..."

Dammit, he was really smart.

"No, you're wrong. I didn't see anything," she assured him.

Cole sighed. "Don't lie to me, Phoebe. Please, you promised me things would be different this time."

Phoebe lowered her head. "It's nothing..."

Cole looked at her in disappointment. He knew that she was hiding something from him. "Fine..."

He was walking to the bathroom, when Phoebe stopped him. "Cole... Are you willing to make this relationship work? Is that what you want? To be with me?"

Cole looked confused at her. "I honestly don't understand your question. We're engaged... What..."

"Look, I know things changed between us, don't deny that. You forgave me, but I know you'll never forget what I did. You'll always remember..." she said sobbing.

Cole shook his head. "You're right, things will never be the same between us, but that's okay."

Phoebe smiled up at him and caressed his face. "I'll fight with all my might to keep us together, I promise..."

Halliwell Manor

Piper's bedroom

"Well, he finally calmed down," Prue said looking at Piper, who was holding Wyatt sitting in a armchair.

Paige raised an eyebrow. "He began to cry when Cole left. He's very attached to him," she remarked.

Prue rolled her eyes. "Paige, you need to accept that Cole is family now. He'll marry Phoebe."

"I know... I have to say that I don't understand what's wrong with him but..." she stopped when she saw the look in her sisters' faces. "What? It's truth. I really understand how could he come back to her... I really don't," she said truthfully.

Prue sighed. "C'mon, Paige. Let's go... Wyatt and Piper need to rest."

Piper watched her sisters closing the door behind them and looked at her baby. "You really like Uncle Cole, huh?"

Wyatt smiled and started to babbling.

"Yeah, you take Chris. I'll get Wyatt,"she remembered Phoebe's premonition and sighed heavily.

"It's impossible, little one. It's impossible..." she said, swaddling Wyatt tightly.
