Hey, everyone!
Sorry this chapter is a week late, but I had NO inspiration for any of my stories – bar A New Era, The Strong Side of Darkness and Never They Cannot. As you know the last of those was posted a few days early, so there was no chapter of that posted this weekend – not that anything was posted this weekend.
Anyway, this is the chapter Nate and I have been waiting for since WAY too long. Seriously the way we write this story, it just keeps adding chapters between important points in the story and that makes this story WAY longer than we intended when we first started writing.
This also means that Keyblade's Light will probably be separated into several parts and that there will be a sequel to this written once we reach a certain point in the timeline. Nate and I are still discussing when this will be, but my personal preference is either before or after Second year.
Okay, enjoy

Chapter 45
Quidditch With Hearts And Keys

Harry's POV

It's been a couple of weeks since the Halloween incident, the visit to Longbottom Manor and the discovery of my Royal Heritage. My speech to the students to give me time to learn seems to have worked greatly and some of the elder years even recommend me books describing past leaders and kings.
I take to these like fish to the water and whenever I'm not in classes, having my homework, my special lessons with my family or my study sessions with the rest of my year, am I often seen somewhere in a windowsill, reading one of the books, or on a desk in the common room, writing down notes.
Neville and Cedric have also been very helpful as Neville constantly shares with me whatever his gran taught him about King Arthur, his ancestor and all his family did since his Ancestor passed away, while Cedric helps me understand certain rules and laws that have been created and/or disbanded.

Daddy Zexion also visits every now and then and then apparently takes his own classes with Dumbledore, who is after all part of both the Wizengamot and the ICW, which Neville tells me is the International Confederation of Warlocks, but the man always makes sure to visit me before he leaves.
The first time he did so, he brought forth an amazing message and an even more amazing story. Apparently am I the godson of someone named Sirius Black, who was wrongfully imprisoned by someone named Dolorus Umbridge and who will – hopefully – get his freedom back this Christmas.

The idea of having a godfather is one thing, but that my rightful guardian – who was supposed to take care of me instead of the Dursleys – is in prison for crimes he never even committed is something I just can't pull my head around and that leaves me in a daze for a couple of days.
Daddy had also sworn me not to tell anyone else and I had only dropped some very vague hints with Cedric and Neville to comfort their worries after the days of me living in a daze, yet relieving these hints had awoken me from my mental slumber and had given me a new inspiration to work.
The idea that the world I am supposed to rule sends people to jail when they don't even belong there disgusts me and – every now and again – makes me wonder whether I even want to take the crown, but then I would just shake my head and feel more determination to be a better ruler.

Yet none of that matters right now and all that I can focus on is what everyone is talking about: the Hufflepuff-Slytherin match, which would have been Gryffindor-Slytherin, had it not been for the fact that Angelina Johnson is needed at a funeral and that Oliver Wood is at the Hospital Wing with a burnout.
Apparently the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch had been pushing himself since he first got his badge, but because this had happened unsupervised, had the boy been able to push himself so far, even he himself had lost sight of his own limits – with all the consequences resulting to a burnout.
Slytherin, of course, seems to believe themselves to have already won and I personally feel beyond disgusted with the sneaky grins and amateurish ways that they are trying to get us riled up. However, it seems that having Cedric on the team is keeping the others at a calm and I know why.
Cedric and I are on the same wavelength of thought when it comes to the ways of behavior from Slytherin House and it's mostly thanks to Cedric that I have been able to keep myself from responding in anger to the disgusting ways that the Snakes have tried to get under my skin for the last three months.

Now, it seems that they're trying the same thing for the team, but this time, I've had enough and feel glad that Hufflepuff and Slytherin Table are next to each other as I coldly turn to the Captain of the Slytherin team and hiss: "Tell those players of yours they need their energy for the match, not for futile idiocy."
The elder boy looks shocked and I turn my glare to the other players, not at all faced by their angry glares as I ask: "Are you the House of the Ambitious, or the House of the Cheaters?" And their glares turn to shocked looks, while I personally turn my back to them and back to my breakfast.

Yet while I say this and while my mind is on the upcoming match, can I not help but feel agitated and the fact that this isn't because of the Slytherins' behavior worries me as I wonder: "Could there be another Heartless attack? There will definitely be enough emotions involved today."
And I look around, seeing how Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are obviously just as hyped for this upcoming match as Hufflepuff – the Gryffindors apparently not even faced with the faced that it should have been their match instead of ours and I darkly think: "Yes, emotions aplenty indeed."
Before I turn my mind to the link I still have with the Dusk going around the school and I mentally ask: "Any Keyholes anywhere?" And the answer worries me as the Dusk answers: "Yes my Liege, but I can't find it. I keep looking where I can sense it, but I can't see it. It's hidden beyond my sight."
"Where are you?" I ask mentally, already having my hand open and ready to summon my Keyblade and then my blood freezes as the Dusk answers: "The Quidditch Storage Facility." And with that only one thought goes through my mind: "It will have to be closed during the match then, before it heats up."

And with that I want to turn to the Headmaster, but then Cedric pats me on the back and says: "Harry, hurry. You want to get a good seat, don't you?" And I realize that in the time I was talking to the Dusk, breakfast has actually ended and that all of the school is now heading for the stadium.
Cedric then wants to walk on, but I grab his arm, the need to have this all fixed before the match can go out in full swing rising with every student I see leaving the hall and I say: "Lend me your broom." The boy looks at me, his eyes wide at how desperate I must probably sound and he asks:
"Say what?" And I repeat: "Lend me your broom, during the match. There's a Keyhole in the Quidditch Storage Facility. It's small enough the Dusk that's still around can't locate it. It has to be –." And the conclusion I drew when hearing the Dusk speak seems to register with Cedric as well as he says:
"In the Golden Snitch." I nod and say: "I need a broom to find the Snitch. If I can't find the Snitch, I won't be able to close the Keyhole and then Heartless will be drawn to it, especially with how hyped everyone is for this game. The emotions together with the Keyhole will be like a living buffet for them."
And while Cedric shudders, does he nod and say: "Make sure you're at a front row seat. I'll pick you up the minute we take flight." I nod, feeling more relieved than ever to have an elder year for a friend and with my hand still ready to summon my Keyblade at a moment's notice, do I leave the Hall.

Half an hour later.

My mind is racing and my heart is filled to the brim with worries as time has been working on my nerves the longer the minutes take to pass by and while my seat is absolutely perfect for Cedric to pick me up without anyone getting hurt, have I almost instinctively summoned my Keyblade several times now.
Yet I know – thanks to my lessons from my fathers – that I can't do so as high emotions together with a heart powerful enough to summon a Keyblade will have the same conclusion as what I told Cedric about this match and the Keyhole, especially now that I see it come out to the field.
The box it's in might be made of very strong wood, but I can almost sense the power of the Keyhole and then suddenly a frightening thought enters my mind. "A Keyhole that small is too small for Aladdin to come through and help me. Other than Cedric and his broom – I'm on my own."

And I gulp as I have yet to have faced Heartless or a Keyhole without those knowing about them like my fathers and Aladdin and then I strengthen my resolve with the fact that I am to be king and a King must be able to defend his Kingdom – whether it be against Muggles, Vampires or Heartless.
Then I see that the teams are all set and, like promised, upon shooting up does Cedric shoot straight for the stands, obviously looking for me and I quickly raise my hands higher than the person next to me, who is a Third year Gryffindor that looks at me as if I've lost my head for stretching that far out.
However I ignore the boy and smile as Cedric releases his broom with one hand, the open hand grabbing mine and I use the wall of the stand in front of me to build momentum and easily jump onto the broom in front of my friend, Cedric releasing my hand and me using the other to grab the broom.

Everyone shouts in shock and the Slytherin team glares at me, but then I use my open hand to summon my Keyblade, everyone looking in shock at the weapon and I shout at Madam Hooch: "Open the crate!" The woman acting on shocked instinct and doing as I command, the Bludgers and Snitch flying out.
I then look at Cedric and he shouts: "There, at the Slytherin Goalpost." I nod and say: "You fly, I close the Keyhole. DUSK, TO MY AID!" And the white-colored, hand and footless creature appears, slithering over the heads over several shocked students and heading straight for its target.
"HOLD IT STILL!" I shout as the Dusk throws one of its tentacles at the Snitch, but then a Bludger actually hits the arm and I turn in shock to where it came from, only to see a Slytherin Beater glare at me. Feeling furious for the idiot's move and that he can't realize what I'm doing, do I shout:

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? I'M TRYING TO CLOSE A KEYHOLE HERE! DO YOU WANT HEARTLESS TO COME AND ATTACK US ALL, YOU IDIOT?" Shocking the Slytherin enough he almost drops his bat, but then my worst fears are confirmed.
Right behind him, a grey-colored creature with brown propeller hat, bat like wings, red claws attacked to his hands and brown leather shoes is flying towards us, together with several others looking exactly alike and others, who wear pink robes, a purple witch's hat and a white and blue staff.
I look in terror at the Wizards and Air Soldiers that are steadily getting closer and then Cedric asks: "You think you can handle them by yourself?" But his voice actually takes away the fear in my heart as it sounds steady and confident and I swing my Keyblade behind me as I say: "You fly, I knock them out."

Cedric nods and then turns to his team as he shouts: "Keep the Heartless away from the pitch. Fly around the stands and keep your wands out!" The team shouts in confirmation and I turn at them in shock before Cedric says: "I explained them what you told me before we left for the dressing rooms."
This makes me feel relieved and then I turn back to the Dusk, amazed and relieved beyond words that the Snitch is actually still where it was before and shout: "Keep that in your tentacles and don't let go. Slytherin Team, keep that Dusk safe at all costs. It's the only protection against the Heartless!"
And while the Beaters glare at me, does the Team Captain – who is also a Seeker – fly over to where the Dusk now has both tentacles around the wings of the Snitch and does he draw his wand, making me look at Cedric, but the shocked look of my best friend makes me know he didn't expect this either.
Shaking it off as unimportant – or at least a matter for later – do I see the Seeker circling both the Snitch and the Dusk with his wand out and his eyes constantly on the still approaching Heartless, which I consider my cue to get into action myself and I nod at Cedric, who nods back before flying off.

Heading straight for the Air Soldiers, I see the one I have in my target range to have spotted me as well and just when it tries to swing its arm for an attack, do I focus on it and the three Heartless around it as I shout: "THUNDAGA BLAST!" Causing for four blasts of lightning to hit all four Heartless.
This shocks Cedric, but also draws the attention of the other Air Soldiers and while I'm shocked at how they seem to focus on me while the Wizards just keep flying on, trying to get to the pitch, but getting blocked by my House's Quidditch team, do I not let my shock stop me from taking action.
Swinging my blade around and hitting another Heartless, am I only a second too slow as one on my left grabs my arm and starts pulling, the propeller on its hat actually swinging along with its wings to give it more power, but a sudden, powerful swing to the right from Cedric makes the Heartless release me.

At the same time does this sudden move in the opposite direction make the Heartless lose its stability and with a swift hit from my Keyblade, does the Air Soldier dissolve into nothing but a small heart, that disappears as it flows up into the air, even while only Cedric seems to focus on this.
I myself keep my focus on the Air Soldiers as they seem to have united in their need to take me down and I shout: "Don't hold back on those feints, Cedric, they might just be our saving grace." And while I can feel Cedric nodding behind me, do I shoot several shards of Ice at the Air Soldiers in front of me.
All five of them – as there had been twenty – dissolve as they get hit and then the remaining ten all shoot for us in one fell swoop. I look above me and then behind me, Cedric nodding again when he sees my ambitious, determined glance and just when the Heartless attack, does Cedric turn into a Dive.
I then aim my Keyblade right behind the guy, while he keeps his focus on the ever-closing ground and while somehow again feeling myself get connected to that man that confuses me again and again, do I shout: "FIRAGA BURST!" Shooting off several of these attacks and hitting all ten Heartless.

Then I pant as Cedric pulls us back to fly straight above the ground, only about two or three feet above land and while I feel myself getting tired with using so much of the Keyblade's power, do I turn my face to the pitch and do I focus onto the Wizards, only to see something that terrifies me.
Several of the Hufflepuff team members are shooting a variation of spells at the Heartless to keep them from entering the pitch, but every offensive spell that they cast upon these creatures is somehow deflected by a powerful magical bubble that seems to absorb the power of the spells as they hit.
Looking at the Heartless that are slowly gaining territory, do I hear Cedric ask: "What kind of Heartless are those?" But I shake my head and say: "Wizard Heartless can only use Thunder to protect them and that's only a temporary defense. This isn't their magic. I – I've never – I've never –."

But then I turn my eyes away from the Heartless as I suddenly feel my Keyblade vibrating and upon instinct, do I let my arm be drawn to whatever power seems to drive the Keyblade to a certain direction and when it is aimed to just below the center of the group of Wizards, do I see it.
A purple robed creature with light green scarf and diamond shaped hat, who has a black face, yellow circular eyes and who seems to flow above a gigantic black book is flying just under the Heartless and just by how he moves his hands over the pages, do I realize what is actually going on here.
Feeling stupid for not realizing it due to my fear, do I whisper: "Daddy Lexaeus is not going to be happy with me." But then suddenly does a black blur of shadows pass me, the only thing really visible about the shadow being a strange white-blue shield and I realize a second too late who I'm seeing.

"DADDY!" I shout happily as Daddy Vexen swings the arm holding his blue shield with white linings and dark blue spikes at the top from his right to his left, causing for several ice shards of the same shape as the spikes to fly out of his shield and hit the Barrier Master head on, destroying it instantly.
This makes me cheer loudly, but then Daddy Vexen says: "It's not over yet. Close the Keyhole, your team will take care of the Heartless." And instantly do I turn into the battle mode Daddy Lexaeus, Vexen and Xaldin trained on me and do I turn to Cedric, who instantly flies us back into the pitch.
There I shoot straight for the Keyhole and swing my Keyblade behind me to gather energy, already sensing the connection between the blade and the Keyhole growing as the two forces of Light and Darkness seem to recognize each other as we fly closer and I shout: "STOP HERE, CEDRIC!"
The broom stopping about four feet away from the Keyhole and because we are only two feet above the ground, do I use the momentum of the sudden stop to jump off the broom in a backwards flip, before taking a firm stance on the right of the broom and do I swiftly aim my Keyblade for the Keyhole.

Instantly a beam of light connects the two and I feel some kind of power – the same that I have felt as well during the last two times – actually somehow opening itself inside me as I hear the sound of a lock closing itself off and the golden shine of the Snitch confirms to everyone that the Keyhole is closed.
Then I turn to the Heartless, my open hand already on Cedric's broom and ready to help me jump back up, but just when I look, do I see the last of the Wizards being demolished by my daddy, who has somehow jumped over the stage and has slashed through the Heartless with the top of his shield.
The man lands on the other side of the stands, to the shock and amazement of everyone but me as I have seen Daddy Vexen and the others performs abilities of much greater feet, but then I see the angry glare that is on Daddy Vexen's face and worry enters my heart as I had not expected for him to be mad at me.

But then the man strides past me and says: "A Keyhole can only be created if Darkness in someone's heart is at their greatest peak, thus only when they plan a scheme that – in the case of this school – can endanger a large group of people such as the audience of this here Quidditch Match.
Now I am no expert on you witches and wizards, but I am, however, an expert on the Darkness and how it can fester and grow within one's heart and thus, do I know exactly how to recognize when someone can be strong enough for Darkness to be this strong and this makes me conclude one thing."
By now everyone is at the very tip of their seats, something they probably weren't planning until the end of the match and while I can't help but smirk at my Daddy's ability to get people's attention, does the man turn to the stand where the teachers are all seated and does he loudly say:

"This action and this form of Darkness comes from an adult. And the only adults in this school – are the teachers." Everyone looks shocked and then Dumbledore stands, but Daddy raises his hand and says: "It's not you, Dumbledore, we already know that. We would have sensed it during our meetings.
However –." Daddy then goes on, his tone making Dumbledore sit back up as the man had sat down in confusion – obviously having not intended to take the blame – and Daddy again turns his furious glare on the teacher's stand, actually making them gulp as he says: "We already have – a suspect."

OOOOOOOOh, cliffie!
Of course, this will be where Quirrell will have to try and worm his way out of the guilt, however for that – I plan to pull a little cannon twist, with my own twists added to the cannon twist. How do I plan that? Well, let's just say that Quirrell is officially on the same list as Bellatrix Lestrange.
Now, next chapter will be Quirrell getting his little ticket out of harm's way, so to say, but it will also be a chapter of Vexen and Harry discussing certain things and maybe a few other things. Either way, it will probably be the last chapter before we move onto the Christmas Chapter Extravaganza!
Okay, enjoy
