Hey guys!
Well, here's the next bit. Your guy's response to the last chapter was so outstanding that when I went back to edit the next couple of chapters I went a bit overboard. Had to scale it back a little and split a couple of chapters in half.
I know y'all are anticipating Edd and Kevin's reunion. You have no idea how badly I wanted to throw it up the second I completed it, but before I can do that I have to make sure its perfect. I've written and rewritten that thing at least a dozen times; and given just how intense things have been during their separation I'm not about to throw just whatever out there at you guys. It's gotta be... well you know. Something special.
And I know there has been plenty of build up that you're probably sick of it by now, but I promise their reunion is coming. I wont say when but it's just around the corner. And not twenty chapters around the corner either. It's seriously close. That I can assure you. Hopefully it'll be the same for you as it was for me and that the reunion will be well worth the wait.
So if you haven't already, don't rage quit on me yet!
Without further ado, how about we get back to our favorite copper top? Betcha he's got a lot on his mind.
Enjoy!
By the time Kevin made into the small town of Peach Creek he was hopelessly lost. Somehow he had found himself on the long stretch of road, leafless trees lining either side of a dirt road that led one way out from an adjoining airport terminal and towards what he hoped would be his final destination. Lord knew his ass ached from riding all day and a hot cup of java sounded heavenly right about now. He had asked someone for directions a few miles back, basking in the warmth of the airport's informational building before begrudgingly returning to the cold; and with the sorriest set of directions he'd ever come across he might add. Seriously, turn left and take a right at the white house on the corner? In this weather everything was white! Never mind that he was on a one way street.
Never the less his piss poor sense of direction left him questioning every turn and exit. He was forced to stop countless times to ask someone if he was headed the right way and thankfully that got him a majority of the way there. Peach Creek was a small town with long winding roads that could easily lead unsuspecting travelers back to where they started. It was a wonder he hadn't gotten himself lost on the highway coming in and when he finally made it to the main road his frustrations immediately lifted. Never did a faded sign on the side of the road welcoming motorists into town look so good to see.
He followed the road a little ways on with nothing more on his mind than to get off his ass and fill his empty stomach. His last collection of directions simply led him into town but to nowhere in particular which was fine by him. At least he had made this far. After crossing Nevada into California he figured now would be a good a time as ever to make a final pit stop. He hadn't sleep in hours and his poor stomach felt ready collapse on him. He was pretty sure his dad's bike could use a little rest as well so taking a moment to stretch his legs and refuel didn't sound that bad of an idea.
With careful maneuvering Kevin eventually wove his way through the traffic and into a nearby parking lot, his eyes dancing curiously from behind his shaded visor as he observed his new surroundings. The shopping center was quaint with a single grocery store at the center and many smaller businesses surrounding it. A restaurant was located on one side of a building nearest to the road while on the other side looked to be a locally owned coffee shop.
Really, it was no contest to him which place he ended up heading towards. Java on the brain, forgettabout it.
As his bike puttered and purred Kevin slowly rolled himself up to one of the available parking spaces and cut off the engine. The sound of his bike had drawn in a bit of attention his way but having hailed from the city where noise and attention was common it didn't bother him in the slightest. Slowly, he lifted himself from his bike. Relief sweeping over him as his muscles stretched and his backside was freed from that blasted leather seat. Sure the bike got him far, but holy hell, did his father had buns of steel or something? Sheesh. Any longer and his ass would have gone on strike. Regardless, he had made it this far and so he could spare a moment to breathe.
Much to his chagrin Kevin hadn't stopped once to enjoy the view the moment he crossed the California-Nevada border. He realized some ways back that the closer he came to entering Eddward's domain the more he was driven to simply cast everything around him out and focus only on finding his dork. Patience had never been a virtue of his in the first place so it was of little consequence to him that the lovely winter scenery that greeted him outside of Blue Canyon was ignored until now.
When he stopped to actually take a look at his surroundings Peach Creek turned out to be a lovely little whistle-stop. It was nothing compared to the big city but he recognized that it did have that cozy charm that most small towns were known for. Not entirely upscale but nothing like the backwater hovel he always imagined Edd having come from. It was decent. Hardly overwhelming and it brought a sense of slow easy-going that his fast pace life style was not at all accustomed to but could appreciate. If anything it reminded of the many towns he had passed through, where quiet little nooks in the hills offered great bed and breakfasts but were just as easily forgotten as they were discovered.
Pocketing his keys Kevin made haste for the door, a little bell overhead ringing as he quickly stepped inside and out of the cold. While removing his helmet he was immediately hit with a wave of warm air and was greeted with a friendly smile by the barista behind the counter. The inside of the shop looked nothing like its plain and contemporary exterior which was a delight for him. He was used to the cold and stuffy places that your average man-on-the-go visited but this place seemed far more inviting than any bean hub he'd been to. In fact the smell of the place tasted different on his palate. Bolder. Robust. It was quite invigorating.
A series of single wooden tables were perched near most of the windows, giving patrons a lovely view of the scenery as they enjoyed their heated beverages from the comfort of being inside. He spotted a couch and a couple of lounge chairs nestled in the middle of what seemed like a recently built addition, a knee high table placed in the center with two magazine racks and a stack of newspapers lining the far wall. Paintings and pictures of African wild life covered the walls, giant bags of coffee beans stamped from Brazil and the Virgin Islands propped near the register presenting a fashionable yet personal touch that Kevin quite enjoyed.
A couple of patrons were spread throughout the room but he ignored them in favor of staring up at the menu. In front of him was a short man in a heavy blue coat with greased back hair. He was tapping his foot impatiently as the only barista behind the counter rushed about to fulfill the man's order. It seemed her attempts to appease him proved only to further grate upon his nerves.
"Come on already!" The man barked, placing his hands on the counter. "I asked for my order like twenty minutes ago. What's the hold up?"
"I'm sorry!" The woman said earnestly as she back tracked across the bean bar and syrup station. "It's my first day and I'm a little behind in my work. B-but I'll have your order ready lickity-split!"
Her smile was infectious and Kevin found himself grinning back when their eyes met. The woman seemed embarrassed that the unhappy customer's complaint had earned her Kevin's attention. He hadn't meant to embarrass her so he consciously made the effort not to make further eye contact with her until he got to the counter. The unhappy customer merely sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"New huh?"
The man seemed to have second thoughts, regretting having used so harsh a tone on the girl that he doubled back and reached into his pocket. The man was hesitant but eventually slipped a few of his hard earned dollars into the tip jar off to the side, making sure to do so only when her back was turned.
"Take your time I guess. I'll be here a while anyways. Can I get some water while I wait?"
The woman's smile never faded and she quickly poured the man a complimentary cup. Kevin had to hand it to her. She must love her new job to keep such a straight face in the midst of such uncomfortable confrontation. If the man had barked at Kevin that way he'd have knocked the punk straight on his ass. Then again Kevin wasn't a barista where catering to his customers was top priority. That was probably why he loved working at his dad's shop so much. Kevin had mad respect for people who did hospitality. He just didn't have the tolerance for that kind of crap on a daily basis.
Once pacified the man wandered off to one of the single tables near a window and Kevin was up next, still gazing up at the menu with interest. Frankly all the choices sounded tempting and he was having trouble making up his mind.
"Hi, sorry about that." The young woman smiled, flashing her braces. "How can I help you?"
Kevin hummed softly and looked into the barista's pretty brown eyes. They reminded him a lot of Edd's. So full of hope and eager to please.
"Well I'm not sure." He answered honestly, leaning his hip onto the counter. "What do you suggest?"
The woman was so busy looking Kevin up and down she almost completely missed what he said. Cheeks flushing a brilliant pink the girl stuttered as she pointed over her shoulder at the chalk board menu, explaining the specialty drink of the day and telling him her personal favorite. As she did she went into detail about the ingredients, recommending the healthy stuff over the sugars and silently priding herself in her knowledge with a mild quirk to her smile. Yeah. She definitely reminded him of Edd.
"I'm not feeling particularly picky." Kevin said, tucking his helmet under his arm. "How about you make me something special-" He looked at the girl's name tag and smiled handsomely. "Emily?"
The girl, Emily, stared at Kevin like a smitten teenager. So much so it made the customer before him roll his eyes from behind his newspaper. "Tch. Play boy."
"Sure thing." She said and quickly rung him up.
Once Kevin paid for his drink he decided to settle himself into one of the lounge chairs. While his butt protested to being sat on so soon the rest of his muscles sank blissfully into the cushions. He hadn't realized just how tired he was until he officially sat down. His only consolation was that it wasn't anything intense like jet lag. A night of hard sleep and a good meal would be enough to get him back on track but Kevin was so close to his goal that the idea of sleep didn't sound as appealing as it should have.
He'd had enough time to think of what it was he wanted to say and at this point he saw no reason to delay himself much further. His mind's need for closure easily over powered his body's desire for sleep and sustenance, so he decided that as soon as he had accomplished what he set out to do he'd give his body a well-deserved meal and a comfy hotel bed to sleep in. It would be a long ways back to New York anyways whether or not the outcome of his being here awarded him the gratification he sought or not.
To his surprise the barista was quick to catch up on her duties and delivered the drinks as promptly as she could. She made sure to serve the unhappy customer first before approaching Kevin, her cheeks still flushed an impressive shade of red as she handed him his coffee and a croissant he didn't remember ordering.
"Your drink sir and a little something on the house."
Kevin smiled and graciously took the coffee and croissant. Carefully he removed the lid and blew the steam away before taking his first sip. He was pleasantly surprised as the hot liquid hit his tongue, the taste of something sweet and aromatic filling his mouth as he licked the foam off the top of his lip.
"Mmm. What's in it?"
The girl smiled widely. "Peppermint and gingerbread. This is my favorite mix when I'm about to face something important." She explained. "It may be a little sweet but I always find the sugar gives me that happy feeling and, call me crazy, but the happy feeling always seems to help. Especially if I'm about to do something particularly tough."
Heh. How Ironic.
Kevin nodded his head and took another sip. It was a little sweet for his usual taste but the blend of flavors was exceptional. No wonder this place hired her.
"Is it acceptable?" Emily asked, looking rather worried. "B-because I can make you something else. Free of charge of course if you don't like this one."
Kevin laughed and waved her off. "Don't worry your pretty head over it. It's perfect."
"Oh good! I'm so glad."
Emily was all smiles as she reached into her apron for a rag, ready to get back to work. If she didn't she was sure her face would turn permanently pink from all the blushing she was doing. She hadn't had a kind customer in days so this handsome stranger was like a breath of fresh air to her.
"If you need anything else I'm right behind the counter."
Kevin nodded in acknowledgement and returned to sipping his coffee. Light music played over head but turned into background noise as his phone began to vibrate. Unzipping the pocket Kevin reached in and flipped it open to see Nathan's caller ID glaring back at him. Thankfully he made sure to turn that ridiculous Barbie ring tone to vibrate. Couldn't have that mess going off in public. Before it could ring a third time he answered it, making sure to hold the receiver far enough away from his ear to keep from blowing an ear drum.
"Hello-"
"BITCH!"
Kevin almost grimaced at the sudden shriek. "Hi Nat."
The teal haired model on the other line huffed. "Don't you 'hi Nat' me you little weasel. You haven't call me back in like, forever."
"Two days, dude. Two days."
"Two days too long if you ask me missy."
Nathan was excellent at feigning frustration. He knew perfectly well how to get his message across and often did so in the most dramatic way possible. Thankfully all Kevin had to do was count the seconds and sure enough Nathan Goldberg's tone had changed allowing him to press the phone closer to his ear.
"Did you make it there? Did you cross into California already?"
"Yeah I'm California. Actually I'm Peach Creek now."
"Holy balls to the wall, you're there already?" Nat sounded shocked and that made the red-head grin.
"Yeah. Thanks to Cassandra I made excellent timing." He said with a smack of his lips, placing his coffee on the table. "I made it into town but needed to take a break. I swear my ass was about to fall off."
Nathan laughed and Kevin tugged the phone closer to his ear.
"Good to hear you're safe and well. I was starting to get worried. Do you have any idea what it is like to go up against your mother on the phone? And here I thought your father was the person to worry about. Your mother promised me an ass kicking of a life time if I didn't keep her informed of your whereabouts."
Kevin snickered.
"Oh shut up." Nathan sassed. "You owe me big for this mister and don't you forget about it."
"May a thousand needles prick my eyes out if I ever did so." Kevin said, glancing up at the ceiling. "Hey, how's mom doing anyways?"
From the other end of the line he heard Nathan sigh. "She's not happy you're gone but the last time I told her you were ok she sounded relieved. You're pops as well. Of course I'll have to call them after this before they decide to call a cab and properly whip my ass."
Kevin laughed and heard Nathan murmur but didn't quite catch what he said. Something about being the bestest friend Kevin ever had and making him pay dearly for this little cross country stunt. Or something like that. Just as Kevin was about to reach for his coffee again he heard something muffled on the other line and heard Nathan's voice spring to life once more.
"Hey, uh, just so you know. Cass is here with me. You uh… you wanna talk to her?"
Kevin's hand stopped in midair just above his cup. The last time he had spoken to Cassandra had been hours before his departure.
Sighing into the receiver he answered. "Yeah. Go ahead and put her on the phone."
He heard a series of muffled sounds as the phone was handed over and Nathan's tenor was replaced by Cassandra's female timbre. He could just imagine the blond sitting right beside Nathan at the model's house, both sharing in a bottle of wine and no doubt talking smack on him for 'being a guy'. Actually he was pretty certain that was what they were exactly doing. If he had to make an educated guess it would be that Nathan was already three sheets to the wind.
"Hey Kev." She greeted, a smile in her voice. "How you doing out there big guy?"
A fond smile graced his face as he reached for his coffee with a little more confidence.
Before he left Manhattan they had sat down to talk, choosing just after one of her shifts to meet up so they could get everything out in the open. They talked for what seemed like hours hashing out the good, the bad and most certainly the ugly.
Cassandra confessed completely to having been jealous of Kevin's affection towards Edd. Her feelings for him had developed well past the want for friendship, so it finally made sense to him that when Edd had stepped on the scene she had gone a little coo-coo for cocoa puffs. She had tried to garner his attention in as many ways as possible and had thought she was succeeding, but Kevin confessed to just never having noticed.
He admitted that at one point he had thought about asking her out but had come to cherish their friendship over his childish desire to get her into bed. So much so that he knew taking it to that next level would not only have made things awkward but would have ruined their already healthy relationship. It hurt her feelings to know Kevin hadn't figured it out until now but she thanked him for at least telling her the truth. She didn't think she could stand him if she ever found out he lied to her about this. Even if it was just to spare her feelings.
It was surprising that Cassandra was not as upset as he assumed she would be when he went to confront her. She had stormed out of his house in such a hurry she had left her purse behind, the little while hand held left forgotten on the floor in her haste. Thankfully Nat was gracious enough to take it back to her because Kevin didn't think he could face her so soon after that. Luckily for them both, some time had passed; and so did the initial emotional turbulence that had haunted them during their sudden rift.
That wasn't to say they didn't have their disagreements. Cassandra and Kevin did argue that day but in the end both decided their friendship was worth far more than some mistaken lover's quarrel. The waitress knew where Kevin's heart truly belonged, even if he didn't completely understand it himself, and in the end it was she who conceded and extended her hand in continued friendship.
Kevin was a great guy and he deserved to happy. It was obvious to her only Edd could do the kinds of things she only dreamed of doing, and when Kevin told her he was going to go after the sockhead she wished him nothing but the best. He didn't need her blessing but had sought it anyways, even wanting to fix what was between them first before going after him. It filled her heart with joy to know Kevin still cared about her in his own special way and with that in mind had decided she would do whatever it took to help him on his journey.
To his surprise she had gone so far as to completely chart out his path across the country, making the necessary calls and ensuring him the quickest and safest rout to California. She personally thought it was insane but this was a Barr she was dealing with and Kevin never did things the easy way. It was one of his damning qualities that in turn just made him so darn irresistible. In the end she was happy to help and Kevin had set off that day, leaving everything behind in search of that one special person that had awoken something new within him.
"I'm good." He said after a pregnant pause. "Nat tell you I'm Cali already?"
"Of course. The guy screeches like a banshee how could I not over hear him?" She snickered.
Kevin laughed even as Nathan barked at her in background, a flurry of words passing through the receiver before Cassandra gained control of the phone back.
"Anyways I'm just glad to hear you're safe. I can't believe you're in town already. Guess my directions were pretty stellar huh?"
"You have no idea." Kevin said, licking more foam off his lip. "Hey you think you can help me out a little more Cass?"
"Sure. Whatcha need?"
"I need clear directions to his house." Kevin said, setting his cup back down. "This place is so confusing. I almost got lost looking for a damn grocery store parking lot."
"Yikes. Did you try map quest on your phone?"
Kevin rolled his eyes. "Yeah but that's more complicated bullshit than I'm willing to deal with right now. Can you just tell me how to get to his place from where I'm at?"
Cassandra laughed. He'd never been all that great with directions anyways.
"Sure thing. I've got the address written down here somewhere. I'll text you the roads you should take. Where are you at now?"
Kevin told her and the two hung up so she could get busy. In the meantime Keivn stuffed his face, moaning and groaning over how delicious the croissant was. Even if the bread tasted a little stale it was better than nothing. It didn't take long however for Cassandra's text to reach him and by that time he was ready to hit the road again. He could never thank Cassandra enough for all she had done. She didn't have to help yet Cass had done so with a willing and loving smile. Somehow he'd pay her back for this. Maybe introduce her to one of the standup guys at his work. Who knows? Maybe that annoyance Vin might make a good impression on her.
He looked over the several lines of text committing each street name to memory before throwing his trash out and placing his helmet back on. It was only a matter of time now. Soon he'd be face to face with Edd and all the questions that pestered him before would be answered. Before leaving Kevin made sure to leave the barista a nice tip. Hopefully he'd remember to stop by here once more before taking off. If things didn't work out with Edd… well, actually he didn't want to think about that.
The bell overhead rang as he stepped back out into the open cold, a cool wisp of air catching at his jacket pocket before he remembered to zip it back up. With his head turned down he narrowly missed walking into somebody in a purple scarf as he jogged over his Harley's metal body and revved up the engine. The familiar rumble and vibrations of the bike sung like a heavenly chorus and before he knew it Kevin had backed out of the parking spot and was well on his way.
As the motorcycle engine roared out of ear shot the man inside the coffee shop looked up from his newspaper and huffed.
Eddy never liked tourists in Peach Creek. Anywhere else was fine but for some reason they sounded so much louder here. So much more obnoxious, disturbing the town's natural peace and tranquility. While Eddy was one for loud noises himself here it just seemed too out of place. Oh well. At least the nuisance was gone. Setting his newspaper down Eddy took to staring out the window and across the snow covered parking lot. He sympathized for the poor souls who were stuck bringing in the grocery carts. At this time of year it couldn't be easy and he definitely didn't envy the poor sap who had to struggle to drag a locked cart all the way back across the parking lot.
Today was his last day in Peach Creek before heading back to trade school. His visit had been short lived but Eddy didn't regret getting to see his best buddies again. He had left them both messages on their answering machines hoping they would understand his premature departure. He promised to be back but for now there was talk of a snow storm heading their way and if he expected to get back to school on time Eddy had to pack and leave a whole two days earlier than planned. Ugh. Just thinking about the train ride to come was giving him a headache.
After a moment of staring Eddy gave in to a yawn, having staved off his desire to sip at his coffee as he waited for it to cool down. Mid yawn however something caught his eye. A familiar blur of green that passed by as Eddy peered out the window at just the right moment. Recognition sparked in his eyes and Eddy threw his hands up.
"Ed! Hey Ed!"
He didn't mind that he was being loud and even hopped up out of his seat, waving frantically at the figure that suddenly stopped and turned his way.
Eddy grinned and waved in him. "Buddy come on in!"
Immediately the figure went for the door, pushing it open gently instead of throwing it back much like the scammer expected. Instead of the brash behavior he was so accustomed to seeing he was greeted with a sight that nearly threw him for a loop. He had to blink several times just to assure himself that what he was seeing was correct and not an illusion.
"Double D?"
Edd strolled quietly into the shop, his eyes landing on Eddy in sheer surprise before he pulled down the soft purple scarf covering his now smiling mouth. Bumping into that motorcyclist had nearly knocked it off his face but thankfully due to his years of dance he had been able to maneuver around the man in time.
"Greetings Eddy."
Eddy slapped his forehead and rushed over to him, throwing his arm around the sockhead and dragging the man into a tight hug.
"I did not expect to find you still here." Edd said. "I thought you would have left by now."
Eddy shrugged and offered Edd a seat. He also offered him a sip of his coffee to which the sockhead politely declined.
"Nah. Not yet. I'm supposed to be taking off tonight. Ed's supposed to meet me here in like an hour or so to take me to the metro station. I'm sorry I didn't have time to say a proper goodbye. Ed told me you were busy or something when I called him so I just left a message on your machine."
Edd hadn't noticed when he first walked in that Eddy's belongings were sitting in a suite case beside him. Taking note of this Edd smiled and straightened himself further in his seat. It seemed as though he wasn't the only one ready for a long travel ahead.
"It's ok. I understand. I'm glad to have bumped into you before you left though."
It was when he set his cup down that Eddy suddenly recognized what Edd was wearing. Quirking a brow he allowed his eyes to dance over the familiar gaudy coat. From where he sat he could count the holes located near the hem and scrunched his nose in remembrance from the last time had been forced to take whiff of that thing's terrible funk.
"Dude why are you wearing Ed's jacket? I thought you were him when you walked by."
Edd's mouth went suddenly dry but he made sure to look Eddy straight in the eye when he answered. No lies, no disappearing tricks this time.
"Ed loaned it to me."
Eddy hummed suspiciously. "Why?"
"Well…" Edd couldn't help but chuckle nervously. Eddy's stink eye could rival that of Edwin's. "Honestly Eddy the reason I'm glad to have run into you is because… well, I have something important to say and I was really hoping not to have to tell you by means of email."
"And why is that?" Eddy asked, sounding much less confident as he slurped at his now lukewarm coffee.
Edd baited his breath, sucking it in quickly as he answered. "Because I'm leaving too."
Eddy immediately spat out his coffee. Edd reached over for a handful of napkins and handed them to Eddy. The shorter Ed took them and quickly patted his mouth and shirt but it did little to wipe away the stain of shock present on his face.
"You're leaving?" He asked in disbelief. Again?"
Eddward nodded in affirmation. He knew Eddy wouldn't take it so well and sure enough the happy expression on his friend's face soured. At least he had been expecting this sort of reaction.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Sockhead are you nuts?! You just got back."
"Eddy please. Lower your voice." Eddward said sternly handing him more napkins. "You're causing a scene."
Sure enough what little patrons were left had begun to stare. Even the barista Eddy had pestered earlier was watching them from afar, her hands paused over a mixer.
"Good." Eddy barked but inevitably did lower his voice. "Damnit sockhead we went through this already. What are you thinking?"
Edd sighed and broke his gaze away. "Correction. It's what I haven't been thinking."
Eddy frowned in confusion though Edd did not feel compelled to explain.
"Eddy do you trust me to believe what is best for myself?"
The scammer sat back in his seat, a little more than taken back. He kept his focus on his friend and nothing else. What in the sam-hell did he even mean by that? Of course he trusted him!
"Of course I do." Eddy said, his voice now brimming with concern. "What would ever make you think I didn't?"
Edd's eyes danced with surprise but Eddy spoke before he could properly respond.
"Double D you're the smartest person I know. Of course you wouldn't do anything stupid but… that's not to say you're not an Ed right?" The scammer fell comfortably into the back of his chair, resting his elbow up on it. "I mean out of the three of us, blockhead and I always knew you'd go places. What on earth would possess you to think your best friend would think otherwise? No one knows you better than I do. Even when you took off the first time I thought you'd somehow make it."
Edd's expression softened. "I know Eddy. That's why I trust you to hold your temper over what I'm about to say."
Eddy pursed his lips and abandoned his coffee all together. He wasn't much in the mood for it now.
Shimmying in his seat Edd leaned forward and clasped his hands together on the table. He wasn't sure how Eddy would take to what he was about to say and admittedly he was nervous about it. The first time he left home he didn't have to worry about confronting his loved ones. He simply made himself scarce with no explanations or justifications to give. This was turning out to be a tremendous and frightening experience. But a much needed one as well.
He was met with different kinds of reactions. Some he could gauge and others that just left him feeling at a loss for words. He had fully expected Edwin to run after him but when he didn't it was almost as if the world had been turned on its head. Eddy's frustration he could understand; but there was something in Eddy's reservation that was more than just anger.
Worry? Vexation?
How could it not be? His friends cared for him more than he bothered to realize and just as it was with Ed it hit him, striking the dead center of his heart as he told Eddy his plans for returning to New York.
Eddy shook his head throughout Edd's entire account, going as far as to throw his hands up in surrender more than once. Edd on the other hand refused to sugar coat it. Just like the others he deserved to know the truth and the sockhead wouldn't shy away from it. Obviously it made Eddy angry to know just how Edd planned to make his trip back to the city possible. He called it ludicrous. Only insane people would think his plan would work but Eddward was more than confident enough for the both of them. Eddy only hoped that deep down the sockhead knew something that he didn't. Something that could actually make this asinine plan of his even remotely feasible. Either way he had to trust that the sockhead knew what he was doing and promised to be there for him no matter what.
But that didn't mean he had to like it.

Just something that came to me out of the blue and felt like sharing with you guys. I haven't written poetry in a while so sorry if it sounds like a screeching record. Anyways, hope you all liked the chapter. This next one should prove to be interesting, especially if you feel a lot for Kevin and maybe just a little something for Edwin. What could it be? You'll just have to wait and see.
And as always, let me know what you thought. I'm all ears.
Ciao!
