Notice: I thank all of you who have read so far for doing so, and I hope you have enjoyed the Coliseum battles thus far. So, allow me reply to my re view, and hen we'll get down to it! (By the way, I gave the PuPus the ability to cast magic spells so that they wouldn't just be running around and using Attack the whole time.)
Rsdk525: Well, you bet Deiru and the others got some. The question is if they can face something from beyond the see, sky, or even the planet.
Okay, and here's the fifth bonus chapter!
Bonus Chapter 5: Envoy of the Stars
Just as we finished putting our weapons away from defeating Ultros and Typhon the Arbiter of Time reappeared. I sighed. "What, no break this time?" I said. "There will be time for one after this battle. Are you prepared?" the being asked. I looked at Serah and Noel, both of whom shrugged. We were going to have to fight either way. The Arbiter nodded, and vanished. His voice could still be heard though, and it said "Your next conquest hails from a distant corner of the heavens. In search of their homeland, these visitors have drifted through a sea of stars, until finally they were claimed by the Void. Do they come in peace or spoil for war? No matter, a single battle will decide who is weak, and who is strong. Such is the law of Valhalla. Will you destroy them and their ship entire? Or will you extend your hand in friendship, when the battle is done? Their fate is yours to decide!"
From above a stereotypical spaceship flew down, hovering in place. A bright blue beam of light appeared from the bottom, and it dropped down half a dozen tiny blue aliens with black dots for eyes and a single glowing yellow antenna on each of their heads. These were the infamous PuPus, and I frowned. Despite how innocent they looked, I knew from playing the game that these little guys could be lethal. "Okay, let's go!" I said, holding up Indomitus and charging. The PuPus stopped looking around and jumped at seeing us, casting Fira and Blizzara. I swung and cut through the chunk of ice while it was still flying at me, but I had to stop and block to avoid being burned. Serah aimed a Blitz arrows and fired, the shot exploding once it reached the middle of the PuPus.
The blast sent several of the little aliens into the air, the rest casting Thundara. Bolts of lightning shot down and Noel cast his own Thundara upwards, the two spells colliding and canceling each other out. Noel frowned, realizing the same thing I did. Despite their meager appearance and stature, these enemies could pack a punch. Such was proven when all six of the PuPus huddled together, and as one cast Quake. The ground rumbled before pillars of earth began erupting from them in every direction. One of them erupted directly beneath my feet, and I shouted as I was propelled into the air before landing flat on my face. There was a crunch as my nose broke, and I groaned in pain. "Deiru!" Serah called, and cast Cura.
The bleeding form my nose stopped and I stood, nodding my thanks as I cast Salvation, the cartilage repairing itself and my nose returning to normal. The PuPus cast Aerora and Watera, blasting us with wind and creating a wall of water. Noel grunted and cast Blizzaga, freezing the water in place before Serah shattering it with Ruinga. I cast Aeroga and created a small twister around the aliens, which sucked in all the ice shards and hit the PuPus with them. They all cried out in pain as they were cut over and over again, and Noel cast Firaga to set the twister ablaze. It worked, and all of the enemies inside were burnt to a crisp until both spells finally faded. The UFO overhead opened its hatch on the bottom and released another beam of light, dropping down another six PuPus.
"What?!" I heard Noel yell, and I nodded. No matter how many PuPus we destroyed, if we didn't get rid of that UFO it would just send out more. I cast Elemental Barrage and hit the ship with that spell. The craft faltered and shook but stayed in the air. When Serah aimed to shoot at the PuPus piloting it, the ones on the ground worked together to cast Waterga, creating a wall of water. That wall slammed into her just as she fired, and Serah's shot missed by a long shot. She fell back and coughed as she breathed in some of the water, and stood. The PuPus cast Fira and Aerora, copying what we did and creating a flaming tornado, albeit a smaller one. The tornado flew at Noel and he switched to Sentinel, activating Vendetta.
The flames surrounded him but the Vendetta helped to mitigate the damage, and only after a moment did the burns start to actually form. I cast Thundaga and blasted the PuPus with the spell. It broke their concentration, the twister fading away. After a few more seconds the Vendetta spell ended, and Noel charged with his blade glowing with energy. The point of Vendetta was that the more damage dealt to you while you used it, the more damage it would deal back. I expected Noel to destroy the PuPus, but then he jumped into the air stabbed his blade into the UFO. The energy burst and the ship was suddenly flying away, spinning in mid-air. The piloting PuPus did their best to regain control of their vessels, succeeding just before they crashed into the ground.
The UFO sent out a wave of energy and the PuPus literally jumped for joy, glowing as they were healed. Serah frowned and aimed at the ship, dodging when she was almost hit with Waterga again. She fired and the arrow sailed through the air, planting itself right in the side of the ship. It faded away after a second, but the damage was done. Several sparks flew from the hole and all of the PuPus turned to her, casting Blizzaga and Quake. Serah used Mediguard and held her ground, blocking the ice spikes from impaling her even white the rocks and dirt from the second spell battered against her. The Mediguard helped to regenerate her lost health, and I ran in the middle of the PuPus. I spun around in circle and brought my sword with me, cutting four of the PuPus down as I went.
The two left hit me in the chest with Thundara, and I screamed in pain as I was hit the the increased voltage. Then they cast Ruinga and sent me flying. I managed to regain control of my limbs mid-fall and flipped over, landing on my feet and sliding back. Serah shot the other PuPu, and Noel hit both the last one and the UFO with Ruinga. The ship shook from side to side but still managed to stay upright, releasing more PuPus onto the field. I grimaced. "Okay, time to take care of that tin can!" I called, and charged for the UFO. Seeing what I was doing, it retreated back while the PuPus on the ground casting Slowga, while four of them actually latching onto my legs. I frowned and stopped- for their size these little guys were heavy.
They held me in place and cast Poisonga and Imperilga, hitting me with both. I clenched my fist as I could feel the contagion start to work through me, and kicked my left leg. One of the PuPus feel off and I stabbed Indomitus into ground, pulling the other off. It struggled and cast Fire, but I ducked underneath the spell and actually threw the PuPu at the UFO. It bounced off with a thud and I removed the other two from my legs, continuing the process. One I was free and moved away from the aliens, and now that I wasn't in the middle of them Noel cast Firaga while Serah cast Woundga. The PuPus were fried and nearly killed, and were made even weaker by Serah's spell. The UFO flew back in, and it began to glow before sending out another wave of healing energy.
Noel glared at it, and said "I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice!" He jumped into the air and combined his weapons, using Meteor Javelin. He threw his weapon over and over, each time creating an explosion. After the first two strikes all he PuPus on the ground were killed, and the rest were aimed at the UFO. It slammed against the ground and tried to rise back up, only to be knocked down again by the next javelin. Noel finished and landed back on his feet, and Serah waited until the UFO summoned another round of PuPus before using Ultima Arrow. Countless shots rained down and destroyed the latest batch of enemies, also peppering the UFO with holes. More sparks began to rise as its reactors reached critical stage.
The PuPus on the ground glared at us, having just been summoning and angry over the loss of their brethren. They cast Blizzaga and Thundaga, nearly impaling Noel and shocking all three of us with electricity. I gritted my teeth but used Energy Arc, firing three waves of power. Two of them hit the PuPus and destroyed three of them, while the third one hit the UFO and sent it staggering back. Now it had a long gouge to go with the holes from the arrows. The PuPus cast Ruinga and Waterga, sending me skidding back across the ground while Noel and Serah were doused with water. They followed it up with a trio of Blizzaras, hoping to freeze us in place. But Noel and Serah both cast Firaga, they spells colliding and creating a cloud of steam. I cleared that steam with Aerora and cast Destrudo.
Eight orbs of power flew at the enemies and I directed five to hit the PuPus, killing that many while three hit the UFO. Smoke began leaking from the holes as the ship was almost blown to pieces, and Serah aimed very carefully. "Hit it!" she called, and fired another arrow. It entered one of the holes made by her previous shots, and without any metal to punch through it tore straight into the wires of the ship. The UFO began jerking from side to side and the piloting PuPus typed in a few last-minute codes before abandoning ship, opening the lid and jumping out. There were actually over a dozen inside, and once they all evacuated there were a whopping total of twenty left. The UFO turned to us and shot forward, bursting into flames as it did.
The three of us shouted as the ship hit the ground in front of us and exploded, letting out a blast of light, heat and burning shrapnel. We managed to switch to Sentinel but not raise out guards, and each of suffered a different injury. Serah was covered with burns as her clothes covered the least, Noel was pelted with pieces of the ship and cut all over, while a large hunk of metal flew at me and decked me on the head. Stars flashed in front of my eyes and I staggered back, dazed. Once the explosion was over Serah and Noel began healing all of us, and I cast Esuna on myself before doing the same. The PuPus had been panicking at the loss of their beloved ship, before finally getting an idea and stopping. They all gathered a in a large circle and looked towards the heavens, raising their arms.
They made various sounds, which I knew in their language meant "Rain down, wayward stars!" In response there was a pause, before a trio of meteors came down and struck the ground, exploding as they did so. I grimaced; this was what I meant when I said the PuPus could be lethal. Individually they weren't much, but when there were as many as this they could cast Meteor, and make things a lot worse for us. The worse parts that the comets would fall down at random intervals, meaning that we had no way of telling when they would hit. I charged at PuPus and and cats Ruinga, hoping to break them up. While none of them were sent into the air, it did break their circle apart, and I killed two with Fira.
The rest of the turned and cast Death and Dazega. A cloud of black energy appeared around Serah before bursting, hitting her with a substantial amount of damage. Luckily the Dazega spell didn't affect her. It did affect me and Noel though, and we both staggered around drunkenly. Serah cast Esuna on Noel but before she could do the same for me I was hit with a series of five Ruin spells, which hurt me but got rid of the status ailment anyway. The wind was knocked out of me from the spells, each one feeling like a punch to the chest or gut. I cast Cura before focusing, and I cast Blizzaga. Just as the spikes of ice began to emerge and impale one of the PuPu, at hat moment another trio of meteors came down, one hitting the Blizzaga spell and blasting it to bits.
The other two hit the ground between us and the PuPus, creating a pair of smoking craters. Noel leaped over them and swung his larger sword, cutting down another PuPu and lowering their numbers to sixteen. Serah brought that to fifteen by shooting another and hitting it in the stomach, while I killed two with my sword. The PuPus cast Meteor again and four more rained down. One came at me and I blocked it, trying to hold my ground against the flaming projectile. Another flew towards Serah and she hit it with Ruinga, knocking the comet off-course until it hit the ground next to her. Noel dodged one but when he tried to back away another hit the ground behind him, knocking him forward and onto the ground.
The PuPus saw that he saw down and took advantage, casting Blizzaga and Ruinga. He managed to roll out of the way of the spikes, but the blast from the Ruinga sent him into the air. "Noel!" I called, and I cast Aerora. I focused the spell until a pocket of air appeared beneath Noel, so that when he was about to land he hovered few inches above the ground. I let the spell go and he landed a lot more softly on the ground, while it turned back to the PuPus. Three more meteors came down and struck the ground, causing it to shake even though none of them hit us. The PuPus cast Aeroga and Waterga, the two combining into a miniature hurricane. I tried to hold still but was slowly drawn forward, so I let the spell drawn me in, and once I was caught I cast Ruinga, blasting the tornado apart and crashing another PuPu, taking them down to one dozen.
The rest cast Death again and this time hit me. It failed to knock me out but it did send me to my knees, and Serah fired a Blitz arrow. The attack sent several of the PuPus' skywards while one was killed. Nine down, eleven to go. Noel cast Firaga and actually killed three in one hit, taking them down to eight. The PuPus began to panic, casting Death, Thundaga and Deshellga. Noel was hit by the death spell this time, and yelled in pain as this time the spell worked, instantly knocking him unconscious. Serah was about to cast Raise on him when she was hit with Deshellga, making her even weaker to the bolts of lightning raining down. I ran towards Noel and pulled out a Phoenix Down. I tossed it into the air and it burst apart, hitting Noel with motes of healing light.
He groaned as he was brought back to the world of the living, also bestowed with Protect and Shell. Serah cast Esuna and Curasa on herself, also hitting the PuPus with Thundaga. One of the bolts shot down and hit a PuPu right on its head, killing it. Noel charged back in and swung both of his sword, killing two. I stabbed one on Indomitus before casting Fira and scorching another. Now there was only three left, and they all huddled together. They all made a sound at once and looked skywards. We looked up to see a meteor, one that was larger than all of the others, streak down towards us. My eye widened and I called "Crap!" I cast Thundaga and fired a bolt of lightning, but that hardly had any effect. Serah shot a volley of arrows and that didn't have any effect at all. Noel even cast Blizzaga, but all that did was make the flames flicker.
The meteor came down and all three of us scattered, while it struck the ground. Chunks of rocks, some as large as fridge and other as small as a pebble, flew in every direction, and the ground shook o hard I lost my balance. I held my hands over my head and waited for the rumblings to subside, even while I could feel the heat from the impact burning my skin. After what felt like a full minute it was over, and I looked around. Serah and Noel were on the other end of the arena, likewise burned and covered with dust. The last three PuPus were jumping around, thinking I had lost. But then we all stood and made one more charged, hoping to defeat them before they called down another meteor like that. It worked, and while Serah shot one of the PuPus Noel stabbed another with his smaller sword, and I slashed the last one across the chest with Indomitus.
The three aliens made sounds of dismay and feel to the ground, fading away. I panted, and without even waiting for the Arbiter of Time's approval I sat down on the ground, lying back. I could hear Serah and Noel do the same, and we tried to rest up. I knew we would need it, because the next fight we would have to be part of would be against Gilgamesh.
The envoy of the stars has fallen, but can our heroes face one of the greatest warriors in Final Fantasy history? The next chapter covers the amazing battle!
Please review! If you flame me Liam Neeson will look for you, he will find you, and he will kill you. (I'm just kidding... or am I?)
