The Grand Final
Chapter 49: Questions and Helping Out
Two years had passed quickly since that birthday party. By now the kids were either seven or six years old. All except for Dave and Lilly McCoy. It was amazing to watch them grew up so fast. By this point those that were part Cerinians were beginning to discover these powers. It was up to their parents to begin to train them until they got old enough to attend one of the special schools. Of course up until that point the little ones had been getting into quite a few adventures and funny things. One of which happened with Lelouch and his sister Violet. The little sibling was slowly becoming less shy. It was Christmas time and the brother had the sister on his lap.
"Jingle bell, jingle bell..." he began to sing in a play mike. "Here, you try." He handed it to her.
"Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock," she sang into the mike, then suddenly flung her paw back and hit the male on the head with the mike. He leaned back clutching the spot with his paw. Their father Panther chuckled as he filmed, while their mother Miyu and the others laughed.
When it came to the four kids of Nicholas and Fara they quickly figured out that they were even more special. Simply because of the castle they lived at. The older vulpine and vixen simply said they were holding the most important job on the planet. The little ones were too young to really understand why. Even so they kept seeing the others but especially Marcus and Jayne. This happened with them going over to the other's houses. Especially the summer vacation home Nicholas and Fara had since it was nearby. The summer that followed was a perfect example of this.
A beam of sunlight shone through the windows of the bedroom. The one that was owned by Fox and Krystal. They lay asleep in each other's arms, peaceful expressions on their muzzles. The vulpine stirred and his eyes opened, and saw that when he looked at the clock, it was ten in the morning. Returning his gaze to the vixen whose head was resting on his chest he smiled a bit. The look on her face was one of peaceful contentment, the result of a night of lovemaking, after which the two had fallen asleep in each other's arms. Well, it was time to wake up, regardless of how adorable Krystal looked right now. Fox began to nibble at one of her ears; the blue vixen made a slight "murrrrr" and then opened her eyes. She looked up at him.
"Morning Fox my dear."
The vulpine smiled. "Good morning Krystal my love. Sleep well?"
The vixen smiled back "Like a kit. You?"
"Same."
The pure Cerinian snuggled against him, and Fox held her tightly as he breathed in her scent. Krystal giggled softly and moved one of her paws a bit further down his chest, mussing the fur, before stopping just above his sheath. "Still thinking about it aren't you?" she asked, looking at it.
Her husband couldn't help but grin. "How could I not? You were truly amazing my sweet little vixen."
Krystal smiled back. "So were you Fox. It hasn't been that good since...well since the last time we did it." She giggled a little. At least this time the vixen wouldn't get pregnant.
Fox grinned and kissed her on the nose. "And that wasn't all that long ago."
"Hmmm. No, it wasn't was it?" The female asked, her paw finally making contact with her husband's sheath.
The vulpine took her paw away from him. "No, no Krystal. Remember we have to go pick up our kids this morning."
"Ahhh, but I feel frisky this morning Foxy. And they're only next door."
Fox laughed. "Honey, you always feel frisky. Come on, you know if we aren't on time to get them they'll come over here themselves. And since Nicholas and Fara have our spare key they'll let themselves in at an inopportune moment. And we wouldn't want that now would we?"
Krystal sighed in defeat. "Fine, be that way."
Fox laughed again and gave her tail a playful yank, eliciting a surprised yip. "Come on. Let's get dressed and pick up those two and then I'll make us all pancakes."
She brightened at that. "Pancakes, eh? Fine."
Fox threw off the covers, hopped out of bed and stretched as he bent his head back and let out a yawn. The vulpine knew the vixen was drinking him in; his orange and white coat, his muscular frame, and no doubt she was also looking at another part of his anatomy. When he looked back at her she was smiling, smiling back. "Peeping vixen," the non Cerinian commented.
Krystal wagged her tail. "How is a vixen supposed to resist you?"
Fox wagged his own tail. "No idea. You certainly can't."
His wife got up and headed for the bathroom, she tickled his sheath along the way earning her paw a swat. "Oh honey, I don't even try."
Her husband followed her in, eyeing the sway of her hips and tail. Krystal headed for a cabinet where the two kept a little collection of scents, while the vulpine proceeded to brush his teeth. "What scent do you prefer this morning Foxy my dear?"
He paused in his brushing for a moment before responding. "I don't know. Something spicy."
She smiled and Fox went back to his brushing, though he observed her pick out a little tub of cinnamon scented powder for him, and lavender for her before she proceeded to dust it onto herself. He finished brushing, rinsed his muzzle, and then grabbed the scented powder. Taking a brush he swirled it around, Krystal looked at him, a twinkle in her eyes. "Would you like me to scent you this morning?"
"Any excuse to touch me, huh?" he responded. "No thanks, I can do it myself."
The vixen mock pouted and answered. "Spoil sport."
Fox rolled his eyes and quickly took care of himself while Krystal brushed her teeth. When they were both done and smelling of cinnamon and lavender, though their natural scent was still recognizable as masking it completely was considered rude, they both went to their dressers and picked out an outfit for the day. The vulpine picked out a simple button down and jeans, while the vixen chose a blue sundress with a white flower pattern. "All right," stated the male. "Shall we go get our furry little terrors?"
The female smiled in response. "Sure. Although…" she walked over to him and gave him a brief sniff. "We're both going to need a real shower at some point today."
Fox shrugged. "At some point. But I don't think Nicholas or Fara will mind. They know why we sent our kids over there to spend the night with theirs anyways." The other two foxes didn't mind having Marcus and Jayne over even though they had four kids of their own. They had a bit of extra help from a couple of servants who came with them to the summer house. And there was plenty of room.
Krystal nodded and the two left their bedroom, made their way downstairs, and then out the door. The vulpine took her paw in his as they walked out through the little path in their front lawn which was, since he and Krystal had finished it a month ago, a garden as beautiful as any on Eladard. It wasn't that far of a walk and soon they were standing outside the summer house of Nicholas and Fara.
They stopped in front of the door and the vixen rang the doorbell. A moment later it swung open and both parents found a now seven year old and six year fox kits doing their best to cling to both of them. "Mom! Dad!" stated Marcus.
"Daddy! Daddy!" squealed Jayne.
Fox and Krystal both laughed and the male raised his son up. His daughter had a grip on his leg. "Hey you two. Miss us?"
Marcus nodded emphatically. "Well, not too much. Aunt Fara and Uncle Nicholas plus the others kept us busy." His sister nodded.
Fox set the young part Cerinian down. "I'm sure they did. Oh, hey Nicholas, didn't see you there." The male had then noticed the other vulpine standing in the doorway.
The high king smiled. "Morning you two. I assume you had fun last night?"
Krystal nodded. "We most certainly did."
Marcus and Jayne looked up at them. "What did you and daddy do?" asked the young female.
Fox patted her on the head. "Mommy and daddy things."
The older sibling adopted a curious expression, his ears perked forward. "What does that mean?"
Nicholas chuckled. "Yes Fox? What does that mean?"
The other vulpine shook his head. "It means you'll have to wait a good eight or nine more years for me to actually tell you Marcus. For you Jayne more like ten years."
The younger male's ears reverted back to their normal position and his tail drooped. "I don't like waiting to know things." Jayne just smiled. She could wait a bit.
Krystal laughed. "That's my son; so curious."
Fox looked at Nicholas. "You going to invite us in?"
He nodded and stepped aside. "Sure, why not?"
The family of four walked inside the house and the other male closed the door behind them. "Where's Fara?" asked Krystal.
Marcus grabbed her paw. "This way! I can show you where Aunt Fara is!"
"All right, show me to her Marcus." The little fox needed no further prompting before tearing off down the hall towards the kitchen, his mother keeping up as best she could. Jayne was right behind them.
Fox looked at Nicholas. "Was he that hyper the whole time? What about Jayne?"
The part Cerinian shrugged. ""Well he managed to calm down from whirling blur to careening asteroid by dinner. But don't worry; Jack and Dave are just as bad. Of course all there were out like lights by about nine o'clock. Jayne was sweet like Luna and Lilly."
The other vulpine let out a laugh. "Good, I'm glad they weren't too much trouble."
The two of them made their way to the kitchen. Walking in they found Fara and Krystal conversing and the kids bouncing up and down trying to get their respective mother's attention. Fox couldn't help but smile as he saw Jack, Luna, Dave, and Lilly McCoy. They had also grown a lot since that party. The eldest sibling was a bit younger than Marcus, but that hadn't stopped them from becoming fast friends and playmates. They were also beginning to show talents with their Cerinian powers. Just like Nicholas had at that age. Luna the part Cerinian the older vulpine couldn't help but notice was eyeing Marcus with a bit of great interest. He paid no attention to her whatsoever. As for Dave and Lilly they were slowly showing signs of having Cerinian powers. But not as much as their older brother and sister.
"I think our little whirling blurs wants something dear."
Krystal looked at her kids. "Yes dears?"
"Can we go outside and play?"
Their mother smiled. "Sure, I want to talk to Fara for awhile anyways. Go ahead."
The high queen looked at down a her kits. "Go ahead all of you. Just come in when I call you for breakfast. I don't want you collapsing from lack of strength."
They nodded and all six took off outside at what seemed to be several times the speed of light. Fox smiled at Fara. "If you want I could make some pancakes over here."
"Good idea," Nicholas commented before his wife could say anything. "Knowing those guys you're going to be here awhile."
The non Cerinian vixen looked at her husband. "Oh hush, go do male-things."
The part Cerinian let out a laugh. "You mean like blow things up?"
Fara shook her head. "Whatever it is when you do when you guys are together."
Both males looked at each other. "The implications in that are so disturbing I don't want to think about them," said Fox. "Where's the pancake mix?"
Nicholas opened a cabinet in the kitchen and then tossed the other vulpine a box of pancake mix "I got you man don't worry."
"Good, fetch me all the other things I need."
Krystal put on a smile. "And here I was always told that a vixen's place was in the kitchen. Quite the opposite it would seem."
Fox patted her behind causing her to let out a startled yip. "I have better places to keep you."
Fara shook her head. "Males."
"Never heard you complain my love," her husband commented.
Fox began mixing the pancakes. The high queen then decided to ask him and Krystal something. "You know as long as the fuzzy terrors are out of ear shot I was wondering something."
"What might that be Fara?" asked the pure Cerinian.
"Seeing as we watched your kids all night so that you two could make love all night, we were wondering if you could do the same?"
"Sounds good," responded the non Cerinian vulpine. "They're always a joy to have over. Do you want us to take them after breakfast?"
"Fine with me," answered Nicholas who looked at his wife. "More time with you."
"I can't wait my dear," she responded to her husband.
Fox began pouring the pancakes into the pan. For the next few minutes he focused on making sure the food would be as close to his usual standard as possible. The male usually did his from scratch, but mix was, the non Cerinian would admit, easier. The other adults talked aimlessly, just enjoying each other's company. "Pancakes are ready."
Krystal nodded and closed her eyes briefly; a moment later the kids came barreling through the open sliding glass door to the backyard. They hadn't learned yet how to block the mind reading powers yet. But would be soon. They had however been marked and the males had been circumcised eight days after they had been born.
"Wish I could do that," commented Fara.
Everyone quickly got plates and Fox placed pancakes on each before getting milk for the kits. When everyone had what he or she wanted they went to sit in the dining room that adjoined the kitchen. The vulpine took a bite of his pancake and shrugged. "Not the best I've ever made. I put it down to the mix."
Nicholas rolled his eyes. "Oh sure Fox; blame it on our shopping habits."
The other vulpine let out a laugh. "Well it certainly isn't my fault."
"So cocky."
Krystal giggled. "It's Fox, my husband. If he isn't being cocky, he isn't breathing." She glanced at Marcus who had his muzzle vertical in his glass of milk. "Marcus, stop lapping your milk and drink it like a civilized person."
The little vulpine folded his ears back and took his muzzle from his glass licking the milk from his nose. "Yes mom."
The pure Cerinian reached a paw over and flicked his ears back up. "It was nothing I never did when I was your age Marcus." Jayne of course was eating her meal like a good little girl.
He appeared less embarrassed but no less admonished. Especially since Luna was looking at him and giggled. "Can I have a straw mom?" asked Jack while looking at his mother.
"What do you need a straw for dear?" replied Fara.
"I wanna blow milk bubbles."
The vixen looked at him sternly before responding. "No."
"But mom!"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Just this once?"
"Jack," Nicholas quickly interceded. "Your mother said no, and when she says no even I have to stop. Now eat your food or you and the others won't go and stay the night with Marcus and Jayne."
All four of his kits looked curious cupping their ears forward. "We're staying with Marcus?" asked Luna. "Why?"
Fox looked gleeful. "Yes Nicholas, why?"
The high king ignored the other vulpine and spoke to his kids. "Because I have to do top secret classified briefings with your mother to insure the continuation of our species." She knew that of course this meant making love. And Fara wasn't going to get pregnant from it. Four kits was enough for both older foxes.
"What your daddy said," stated the high queen. "So when you're done with your pancakes go pack a few things you'll need."
The four finished them in record time, as did Marcus and Jayne. When they had finished they all bolted for the upstairs. Fox grinned. "Top secret classified briefings to insure the continuation of our species? Creative."
Nicholas shrugged. "I was actually rather proud of that one. I have the feeling they'll be ready within the next thirty seconds though."
The other vulpine and Krystal nodded. They finished their plates, then stood up, and the part Cerinian and Fara walked them to the door. They found the six kids waiting and literally bouncing with energy wearing backpacks. The servants were also ready to go as well to help Fox and Krystal. The non Cerinian vulpine looked at the four McCoy kits. "Do you have a go bag or something all of you?"
They all nodded. "Yep," answered Dave. "So can we go?"
"When your mom and dad have said goodbye."
Their parents did with a kiss for the daughters and hugs for the sons. Nicholas then opened the door. "Out," he stated. Looking at Fox and Krystal he winked.
The two smiled and followed the kids who were already half way to their house. The servants just walked a bit ahead to allow Fox and Krystal to be alone. The vulpine took the vixen's paw. "I get the feeling we'll have our paws full for the rest of the day."
Krystal kissed him on the nose. "Would you rather be fighting for Lylat or Eladard dear?"
He shook his head. "No." Then the male swept her off her feet and into his arms causing his wife to giggle. "I have you, that's all I need."
"Good. Carry me home?"
Her husband nodded and carried her over, setting her down at the doorstep he looked down at the kits. "All right little fuzzies, who's ready for some fun?"
X
That of course was only during the summer. The next school year came quickly enough. But it was during this that even more things would happen. Of course even with this Nicholas and Fara still found time to spend with their kids. As they always had been able to. Even with their duties as being the high king and queen. The older foxes always managed to see those who went off for school and to pick them up. Not quite yet with Lilly since she wasn't yet six years old and in the first grade. But the other three were. During the time the kits were at school Nicholas and Fara would do their work and when needed breaks would spend time with the youngest of their kids. When Jack, Luna, and Dave came back with the parents they would always tell the older vulpine and vixen about what had happened and show them stuff they had worked on. It made their parents so proud of them.
Of course there was at one point all four kits would learn something about their father. The family of six always ate dinner together in the huge dinning room. As it turned out Jack and Dave were being good and eating their vegetables tonight along with their sisters. Luna had just finished telling about her day. "That sounds like you had a good one honey," stated Nicholas with a smile. Unless the need called for it the kids would wear regular cloths unlike their parents. Like during this time.
"Hey dad?" asked Jack.
"What is it son?"
"How did you get that mark on your chin?" The question he had wondered for so long came out. Just like with his siblings. Fara quickly snapped at him.
"Jack! I've told you and your siblings several times not to ask things like that!"
"Dear, it's okay," stated her husband. His wife looked at him with shock and concern. "He's just curious as are all of our kids. It doesn't hurt for them to know."
"Maybe not them but it hurts you honey."
"In the past it would have, but not anymore. I've managed to recover from it fully. Do you remember what I once said about scars that had strong emotion attached to them?"
"How could I ever forget?" stated his wife and touched the area where it was. "I can see that it's mostly weakened."
"Yes," answered Nicholas. "But it will probably never disappear."
"What are you two talking about?" asked Dave and Luna at the same time. The older vulpine turned to his kids. Lilly looked worried like he was going to punish them for what Jack had wondered.
"A lot has happened to your daddy in the past. Many things that were bad but some that was good. None of you are old enough to know what happened. But one day when you are I will tell all of you even though you will learn about it in school. Just know that for now that I got this mark while fighting against a very bad person. And it was thanks to it I was able to meet your mother."
"Did you fight against him again?" wondered Jack.
"I did. The last time we fought was how me and your mom got the most important job on this planet."
Of course even with that a couple other things would happen. Marcus and Jack would meet up the next day since they had the same class. They were best friends; just like it had been thought. "Why doesn't Luna leave me alone?" asked the blue furred vulpine as him and the other male walked to lunch. He was almost eight now by this point.
"Who knows about my sister," said Jack. It seemed ever since that vixen had learned how to walk, she seemed to follow Marcus around. He didn't get it at all. Strangely enough it was like that with Marcus's sister when it came to Jack, but to a less extreme degree. Whenever they would be asked about it, the little vixens would shrug and change the subject. But things would get really interesting for Marcus and Luna during that weekend.
It all started on a Saturday. Fox's family along with Nicholas's were at a park to enjoy the weather before it got too cold since by now it was October. It found the non Cerinian's son with a ball and he was kicking it down hill. Jack wasn't around yet. Suddenly the little vulpine slipped, lost his balance, and went rolling down the hill. When he got to the bottom Marcus just laid there for a moment, then got up and brushed himself off. He winced in pain when he noticed he had cut himself slightly on his knee. But the male was a tough little kit.
"Marcus!" Krystal came running up to her son, took the knee, and examined his injury. She sighed. "you have to be more careful."
"But there's no fun in that." The pure Cerinian rolled her eyes before looking down at him.
"Does it hurt?"
"No, not really." The vixen then went through her purse and grabbed a small band aid out, and placed it on thoroughly.
"Well then let's put this on here at least."
"Oh okay." Krystal giggled a bit before standing back up.
"Keep playing a bit longer and I'll get a treat for us." Marcus's face lit up and his mother patted his soft head.
"Alright then!" The young vulpine contained kicking his ball down the field while the pure Cerinian walked over to a little concession stand. All of a sudden he looked up and could see he was at a sandbox. And Luna McCoy was playing inside it. The vixen had constructed some towers and was building another one to add to her castle. It didn't take long for the female to finish this one. She giggled happily. For some reason Marcus didn't move, but watched her. Even though he tried to avoid Luna as much as possible due to her always following him. Suddenly four boys walked up to her.
"This is our area. Get lost," stated the tallest one, obviously the leader.
"Why should I? Do you know who I am?" asked the vixen. All of Nicholas and Fara's kids were well known. But this time that trick wasn't going to work.
"Yeah, and we don't care!" They pushed her down, and destroyed her sand castle. Luna felt a few tears forming in her eyes. Marcus knew he had to do something even though it was her. She was after all his best friend's sister.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" The vixen looked up to see him standing there. So did the boys.
"Why should we?" asked their leader who got up and right in front of the vulpine.
"Cause you can't pick on a girl like that! What did she do to you?" They laughed at the small vulpine; they were bigger than him.
"Mind you're own business if you know what's good for you," said their leader. Marcus grabbed his shirt, and brought him down to meet his gaze. The fox glared the other male down, brining fear into him.
"Try me," he growled. The part Cerinian pushed the other boy, making him trip over the sandbox guard, falling down to the ground. The opponent got up and swung a fist at Marcus. But the vulpine dodged easily and sent a punch of his own. It made contact, knocking the other boy down again. The male began to cry and he ran back to his parents with the rest following him.
Marcus then turned to Luna. "You alright?" She just stared at him. In all the years she'd known the vulpine, he in that moment seemed so manly. The vixen grabbed the paw he held out, blushing. Luna had never grabbed a boy's paw before.
"Yes," she responded looking down with embarrassment as he stood her up. Marcus didn't know what the vixen was doing and shrugged it off. His gaze went down to the destroyed sand castle.
"Here; let's build the castle again." Her face lit up and they did so. Unknown to them, Krystal was watching; she had seen the whole thing. The pure Cerinian thought what her son had done for Luna McCoy and was doing now was so cute. She began to think of cute future things. The mother vixen then walked up to the sand box.
"There you are Marcus." Both kits looked up to see her. "Here, why don't you go play on the swings? I'll try to find your dad." The little vulpine was handed the treats and he gave one to Luna. The male took her paw with his free one and went to there. She kept blushing as she stared at Marcus. Luna always had thought the vulpine was cute. But now even more so because of what the part Cerinian male had done. They made it to the swings and sat next to each other. Both swung for a bit with the female giggling happily. Until she dropped her treat causing the foxes to stop.
Marcus held his over for the female. Luna looked at him and could see the vulpine hadn't quite taken a bite out of his yet. And that the male didn't looked ashamed for giving his treat away. "It's alright, take it."
The female did so while blushing again. "Thank you." After Luna finished it off, the two continued. But then they were called over by their parents. The vixen grabbed Marcus's paw to his surprise and walked them over. All of the kids were there as well. When the two reached them, Luna went over to Nicholas. He had been told already what had happened.
"Hey there," stated the older vulpine to his eldest daughter. "You okay?"
"Yes, thanks to Marcus. He helped me earlier from a group of boys picking on me." Everyone else shifted their eyes to him he blushed slightly and looked the other way.
"Is that so? Thank you then for what you did for my little girl," said Nicholas.
"I-it was nothing," he responded, playing with his fingers nervously.
"I never got to thank you for it either." Luna walked up closer to Marcus, and planted a small kiss on his right check. The adults let out chuckles, and the little vulpine blushed harder. But then the time came for the families to go. Fara turned to her husband.
"That was sweet," she whispered to Nicholas.
"Yes," he answered with a smile.
"You're not mad?"
"How can I be? I can see it in Luna's mind that she's been very fond of Marcus for as long as she's known him. I won't stand in the way of that. Even if he were to ask her out in the future. I like him after all."
"What about him?"
"I understand that he thinks she's a pain. But he's only a young kit. Today I've sense his attitude towards Luna changed. Perhaps these will become feelings. For now we'll have to wait and see."
