Chapter 51
The first few months after the birth of Anna Rose and Ariella were hectic, yet somehow satisfying. I could not have been more fulfilled than I was at that moment to look down at my beautiful little girls and know that they had three loving parents. The whole few months were quiet, then out of nowhere we had to leave.
This was difficult due to having two infants, but we all managed. Sunstreaker took Ariella and Sideswipe hauled both Anna Rose and I. We had to leave the quietness and nature of the Montana wilderness.
Then we found our way to Nebraska, rural country. We hadn't been there long, when the Autobots discovered two new friends, Bluestreak and Smokescreen. Apparently these two were the brothers of Prowl, with Smokescreen being the oldest, Prowl being the middle child along with his twin brother, and Bluestreak being the youngest. These two mechs were very excited about meeting our sparklings.
"Whose Prowl's twin?" I asked Sunny and Sides that night, once we settled into bed to recharge. I was curious as the subject was briefly touched upon by the mechs present and then the introductions continued.
"Slaggit." Sideswipe cursed when I brought that up. He sat straight up in bed and exchanged looks with Sunstreaker.
"You can't tell anyone we told you," Sunny finally said. Sideswipe sighed, and glanced at his brother like he was foreign.
"Sunny!" Sideswipe hissed.
"She has to know!" Sunny said, rolling his eyes. "It's not like she grew up on Cybertron and knew the history of everyone."
"Alright?" I questioned, feeling a little apprehensive about the whole secrecy behind this subject. My husbands sensed my confusion and explained.
"Prowl is known to be a Praxian." I nodded, having remembered some of the major cities the twins or other Bot's spoke about, or that I read through the datapads.
"Praxians like to keep their personal lives very quiet." Sideswipe said.
"We only know because we witnessed a confrontation between Prowl and his twin," Sunny sounded troubled. He absently traced circles on my stomach.
"So who is his twin?" I asked, still as confused as ever. This explanation had sucked worse than trying to steal cookies out of the cookie jar and pretending that you had no idea where those two chocolate chip cookies in your hand came from.
"Barricade," Sideswipe finally said. I gasped as I remembered our last encounter with the mech. He had helped Sideswipe and I out, but he was still a known traitor to all Cybertronians, never choosing a side, letting fate take him where he should be.
"Yeah. And apparently Bumblebee is Prowl's nephew. Barricade wanted nothing to do with his son, so Prowl practicall raised Bumblebee by himself." Sunny explained. This did explain why Bumblebee was a Praxian and why the three brothers seemed so close with the scout.
"Wow." I had to blink several times to think that one through. That whole scenario was fascinating. It almost seemed something out of a telenovela, or a bad plot line for a movie. I was shocked. I mean who had seen that one coming? Definitely not me. "I didn't see that one coming."
It wouldn't make me love those four Autobots any less, because who can chose their family? If you could I'm sure more people would want to be free of their own. I would have chosen another path for my own life. Perhaps I was fated to live the life I had, but I would never know.
Perhaps if I chose another life I wouldn't have met my two frontliners, or even had children. Or perhaps I would have still ended up married to the two mechs who had decided to carry my heart away with them. No one knows, because we don't get a manual in life – one that tells you whether or not you should go down that street. Like a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure novel.
If you want to go down the creepy alley, turn to page three. If you want to go get ice cream with your Aunt Gertrude, turn to page seventeen. If you decide to put this book down and live your life, turn to page nil.
"None of us would have guessed it love." Sideswipe pressed a kiss to my head. "Now lets get some sleep before the girls' decide to wake up and want to eat."
"Or need their diapers changed." Sunny grumbled. I laughed and pressed a kiss to the hollow of his throat.
"It's your turn tonight Sunny." I teased my clean – neurotically so husband who just humphed at me. "Don't worry though, if you need help you can come wake me up."
"I love you." Sunny murmured.
"Sleep!" Sides begged. I just laughed and drifted off to sleep.
