Summary: Lily was not who everyone thought she was, but she would do anything to protect her baby. Yet, on that fateful Halloween night, ancient magic of the Slytherin family saves Harry and now he's to grow up in another time. He's raised by his ancestor. What happens when he rejoins his time?
Notes: As a friend of mine has stated, there are certain languages that seemed to not be used often. This is because you don't hear them as much; Balthezar's main languages of use are Old English and Old Norse. You see that he only uses the others depending on who he's talking to. Now this doesn't mean that languages like Latin or Old Welsh will disappear, it just means he's not necessarily around the people who speak them. Don't worry however; there are parts of this story that will still call for the other languages.

Chapter 53
Balthezar shuddered as a chill filled the air. He looked over his shoulder in the direction that the castle stood. He couldn't see it, but he could tell that something wasn't right. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. He didn't like feeling as if something wasn't right. A hand came to rest upon his shoulder. He spun around and stopped at the sight of the person that had touched him. The person was Amadeus. The man gave him one of those lip only smiles.
Balthezar cleared his throat. -What are you doing here?- He stared at the man as he waited for some sort of answer. The man continued to stare at him. Balthezar sighed. He found that Ancient Vampires were a group of people that usually left more questions than answers behind. He then shrugged. -Is this about the people that want to fight? I still say that they don't need to fight. I mean, it's their choice, but they still don't need to.- He hadn't heard much about whether or not the citizens of Rain Valley Isle would be allowed to fight.
Amadeus shook his head. -There are people who have come to fight for you. They want to help someone that's as honourable as you are.- Balthezar blinked at those words. He stared at the older man. There was something in the way that the man had spoken that had caused Balthezar feel confused. He let out a slow breath and nodded. Amadeus stepped forward. -Balthezar Slytherin, I have a request that I would like to make of you.- A frown crossed Balthezar's face. He wondered what Amadeus would request of him. He couldn't think of anything that could be of use to the man.
He cleared his throat. -What is it that you wish to request of me? I can't tell you whether or not I would accept if you do not give me that.- He stood as straight as he possibly could the entire time he stared at the man. The idea of being asked anything was a little unnerving. Ancient Vampires generally didn't ask. This meant that having one request anything could be seen as dangerous.
Amadeus nodded to him. -I wish to join the battle. However, you know that my kind must have a pact to do something of that nature. This is especially true when it doesn't involve the entire clan.- He stopped and looked at Balthezar. The young Slytherin nodded in response. He knew that to be the case. Salazar had taught him that many years ago. Of course, he was a little worried as to what Amadeus could want. Amadeus smiled at him again. -An Ancient Vampire's pact is the same as all others. It is signed in blood. I request that you allow me to make a pact with you by the taste of your blood.- That caused Balthezar's heart to practically stop.
Balthezar stood there, thinking over the man's request. He could understand what was causing him to do that. It was true that Ancient Vampires were unable to get involved in someone else's battle. In fact, any battle usually needed the entire clan. This was also true for the leaders of the clan. Plus, he also knew that Amadeus was a leader. He then mentally sighed. 'Letting the Ancient Vampires help would do us some good. Yet, do we really want this? I don't want them to be at odds with those that live here. Then again, there are others that do not live here already coming to help.' Balthezar pushed the thoughts out of his head. He knew that he needed to focus more on whether or not he would allow Amadeus' request. It wasn't necessarily a good idea, but it could help with the battle. He finally nodded. It was best to allow it and worry later. There were more things to worry about than the consequences of what could happen.
Amadeus gave him a smile that showed off his teeth. -I thank you for this. My clan and I want to be involved, but we need this pact.- He walked up to Balthezar and leaned towards the young man. The boy bared his neck for the vampire. There was no other way that this could be done. Amadeus set his hands on Balthezar's shoulders. Teeth pierced his neck and he felt the man utter unintelligible words. A sucking motion happened moments after the words were spoken. A flash of red light engulfed the two of them as Balthezar waited. A couple of mouthfuls of blood disappeared from his body. Amadeus pulled back right as the light disappeared. He grinned. -I thank you, Balthezar. My clan will be here to help you.- He then walked away and left the young man alone.
Balthezar sat on a rock that was nearby and pressed his hand to his neck. The wound was already closed thanks to the vampire's magic. 'I hope that I made the right choice.' He then closed his eyes and let himself focus on nothing at all. His odd feeling hadn't gone away, much to his worry. Yet, he was now waiting. That was all he could do, but he would do it.
A/N: Well, here we are. Hope that you enjoyed the chapter. Later.
