Symmetrical Love
A series of drabbles about Liz and Kid and their relationship. Each Drabble will bounce back and forward through their relationship. Updated when I get an idea.
Chapter 51: Growing Up
There comes time in every young man's life that he must take his significant other to his parents to meet.
When Kid and Liz started to date they had wanted to keep thing private and not tell anyone right away.
Patty found out within minutes and quickly told her friends. So that planned seemed to go out of the window right away.
Or so they thought….
In the Death Room a week later to meet with Lord Death.
"Okay, so your new mission requires you guys to go to Australia." Lord Death explained it to them their goals. "It should be a pretty easy mission for you guys. After go and have some RNR. You earned. Maybe Kiddo you could get your self a girlfriend while your there." Death poked his son at the side just playfully teasing him.
Liz and Kid stared at him confused for a moment.
They had been dating for a moment.
"Ah, is something wrong?" Death questioned their confusion.
"Nothing?" Kid figured it out pretty quickly that he had not mentioned it to his father that he was dating Liz. "We should get going."
Kid rushed out his weapons before another word could be spoken.
"What's that about?!" Liz question Kid the first chance she got.
"Huh, well, it seems like I've neglected to tell father that we are dating."
Liz raised an eye brow at her boy friend.
Patty smirked, "Liz, are you ticked with Kid?"
"I can't say I'm happy." Liz answered Patty not removing her eyes from the young reaper. "Why haven't you told him Kid?"
Kid cleared his throat to get a few second to figure out how to phrase it, "To be honest I just didn't think of it. Patty told everyone I just assumed father was amongst those."
"Nope, I told our friends and I guess everyone else told someone else but I didn't tell daddy death." Patty smiled happily.
"Well, we have to tell him." Liz told her boyfriend. "Kid, he's your dad and our boss. We can't just lie to him about something like this."
"No, you are correct." Kid agreed with her. "But let's tell him once we return from our mission."
"Why wait? Why not just march back in there and say Liz is my girlfriend?" Liz was clearly getting angry.
"Liz, I love you and I in all honesty think what we have is something that I think will truly last."
Liz felt her heart flutter when he said that.
"I just want to do this right. I don't want to just say it to him. I want to tell him and make him see that I care about you."
Liz blushed a little, "I guess you're right. I mean, I should probably dressed nice when I go up to Death and telling him I'm dating his son."
"Aw!" Patty spoke delighted. "You two are so cute together!"
The couple just glared at the younger weapon.
So after a while they went to their mission and returned.
They invited Death to dinner. Death himself was happy to spend time with his son and his lovely weapons.
He did notice that Kid was wearing more casual clothing he still made sure that he was dressing nicely. Liz herself was wearing a lovely black and red dress. Patty was pretty casual and in fact was sitting to the side looking at the three as she ate.
Honestly Death was surprised that his son hadn't panicked over the asymmetrical sitting pattern. After all Liz was sitting right next to him and Patty was all the way to the side.
"Ah, father there was a reason we asked you to come over tonight?" Kid began.
"Oh, what is it Kiddo?"
Kid took a deep breath, "It seems that I have failed to inform you about something. Something that is rather important. Father, recently Liz and myself have started dating." He reached over and took her hand in his. "I love her father."
Liz smiled loving hearing those words. "I love him too."
Lord Death stared at them silently for a moment.
"Ah, well, father what do you have to say?" Kid started to get a little nervous.
The next thing the pair knew they would grabbed by the grim reaper and held close, "Really!? I'm so happy for you!" They could sense the sheer joy in his voice. "My little boy is growing up. Welcome to the family Liz."
On the side Patty cheered happy that things were going so well for the pair. And also happy to be stealing food off their plates.
Author's Notes: Another day and another theme. Todays theme is growing up and i felt this little slice of life fit with it. Plus a nice Liz and Kid moment. So that's a bonus. Okay, now back to work for me. Let me know if you guys liked it, leave a review.
